“Porque así dice Jehová: No veréis viento, ni veréis lluvia, y este valle será lleno de agua, y beberéis vosotros, y vuestras bestias, y vuestros Ganados. Y esto es cosa ligera en los ojos de Jehová;”
“Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts. And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord.”

6 Porque a la nieve dice: Desciende a la tierra; también a la llovizna, y al aguacero torrencial de su fortaleza.
8 Las bestias entran en su escondrijo, y se quedan en sus moradas.
9 Del sur viene el torbellino, y el frío de los vientos del norte.
16 ¿Sabes tú las diferencias de las nubes, las maravillas del Perfecto en sabiduría?
17 ¿Por qué están calientes tus ropas cuando Él aquieta la tierra con el viento del sur?
23 Él es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos, grande [en] poder; y en juicio y en multitud de justicia no afligirá.
5. God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
6. For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
8. Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
16. Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
17. How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
23. Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
Leccion Sermon
1 Los cielos cuentan la gloria de Dios, y el firmamento anuncia la obra de sus manos.
2 Un día emite palabra a otro día, y una noche a otra noche declara sabiduría.
3 No hay habla, ni lenguaje, [donde] su voz no sea oída.
4 Por toda la tierra salió su hilo, y hasta el extremo del mundo sus palabras. En ellos puso tabernáculo para el sol.
5 Y éste, como un novio que sale de su tálamo, se alegra cual gigante para correr el camino.
6 De un extremo de los cielos es su salida, y su giro hasta el término de ellos; y nada hay que se esconda de su calor.
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
1 Y sucedió que después de muchos días, vino palabra de Jehová a Elías en el tercer año, diciendo: Ve, muéstrate a Acab, y yo daré lluvia sobre la faz de la tierra.
2 Fue, pues, Elías a mostrarse a Acab. Y [había] gran hambre en Samaria.
3 Y Acab llamó a Abdías que [era] el mayordomo de [su] casa.
5 Y Acab dijo a Abdías: Ve por el país a todas las fuentes de aguas, y a todos los arroyos; para ver si acaso hallaremos hierba con que conservemos la vida a los caballos y a las mulas, para que no nos quedemos sin bestias
41 Entonces Elías dijo a Acab: Sube, come y bebe; porque se oye el ruido de una grande lluvia.
42 Y Acab subió a comer y a beber. Y Elías subió a la cumbre del Carmelo; y postrándose en tierra, puso su rostro entre las rodillas.
43 Y dijo a su criado: Sube ahora, y mira hacia el mar. Y él subió, y miró, y dijo: No [hay] nada. Y él le volvió a decir: Vuelve siete veces.
44 Y sucedió que a la séptima vez, él dijo: Yo veo una pequeña nube como la palma de la mano de un hombre, que sube del mar. Y él dijo: Ve, y di a Acab: Unce tu [carro] y desciende, para que la lluvia no te detenga.
45 Y aconteció, estando en esto, que los cielos se oscurecieron con nubes y viento; y hubo una gran lluvia.

1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.
2 And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.
3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house.
5 And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.
45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain.
46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah;
22 He aquí que Dios es excelso en su poder; ¿Qué enseñador semejante a Él?
24 Acuérdate de engrandecer su obra, la cual contemplan los hombres.
25 Los hombres todos la ven; [la] mira el hombre de lejos.
27 Él reduce las gotas de las aguas, al derramarse la lluvia según el vapor;
28 Las cuales destilan las nubes, goteando en abundancia sobre los hombres.
29 ¿Quién podrá comprender la extensión de las nubes, [o] el sonido estrepitoso de su tabernáculo?
30 He aquí que sobre él extiende su luz, y cobija con ella las profundidades del mar.
31 Bien que por esos medios castiga a los pueblos, Él da sustento en abundancia.
22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.

1 Y otra vez comenzó a enseñar junto al mar, y una gran multitud se reunió alrededor de Él; tanto que entró en una barca, y se sentó [en ella] en el mar, y toda la multitud estaba en tierra junto al mar.
35 Y aquel día, cuando cayó la tarde, les dijo: Pasemos al otro lado. 36 Y despidiendo a la multitud, le recibieron como estaba en la barca; y había también con Él otras barcas.
37 Y se levantó una gran tempestad de viento, y las olas azotaban la barca, de manera que ya se anegaba.
38 Y Él estaba en la popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal, y despertándole, le dijeron: Maestro, ¿no tienes cuidado que perecemos?
39 Y levantándose, reprendió al viento, y dijo al mar: Calla, enmudece. Y cesó el viento. Y se hizo grande bonanza.
40 Y les dijo: ¿Por qué estáis así amedrentados? ¿Cómo es que no tenéis fe?
41 Y temieron en gran manera, y se decían el uno al otro: ¿Qué clase de hombre es Éste, que aun el viento y el mar le obedecen?
1 And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
Dios [es] nuestro amparo y fortaleza, nuestro pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones.
2 Por tanto no temeremos aunque la tierra sea removida; Aunque se traspasen los montes al corazón del mar;
3 [aunque] bramen [y] se turben sus aguas; [aunque] tiemblen los montes a causa de su braveza.
4 [Hay] un río cuyas corrientes alegrarán la ciudad de Dios, el [lugar] santo de los tabernáculos del Altísimo.
5 Dios [está] en medio de ella; no será conmovida: Dios la ayudará al clarear la mañana.
6 Bramaron las naciones, titubearon los reinos; dio Él su voz, se derritió la tierra.
7 Jehová de los ejércitos [está] con nosotros; nuestro refugio [es] el Dios de Jacob.
10 Estad quietos, y conoced que yo soy Dios; enaltecido seré entre las naciones, exaltado seré en la tierra.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
El dominio de la Mente sobre el universo, incluso el hombre, ya no es una cuestión discutible, sino Ciencia demostrable. Jesús ilustró el Principio divino y el poder de la Mente inmortal sanando la enfermedad y el pecado y destruyendo los fundamentos de la muerte.
Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science. Jesus illustrated the divine Principle and the power of immortal Mind by healing sickness and sin and destroying the foundations of death.
La Mente divina sostiene la sublimidad, magnitud e infinitud de la creación espiritual. Para la mente mortal, el universo es líquido, sólido y gaseoso. Interpretadas espiritualmente, rocas y montañas simbolizan ideas sólidas y grandiosas. Los animales y los mortales representan metafóricamente la gradación del pensamiento mortal, ascendiendo en la escala de la inteligencia y tomando forma en los géneros masculino, femenino o neutro. Las aves, que vuelan sobre la tierra en la amplia expansión de los cielos los, corresponden a las aspiraciones que se remontan más allá y por encima de la corporeidad hacia la comprensión del Principio incorpóreo y divino, el Amor.
The divine Mind supports the sublimity, magnitude, and infinitude of spiritual creation.
To mortal mind, the universe is liquid, solid, and aëriform. Spiritually interpreted, rocks and mountains stand for solid and grand ideas. Animals and mortals metaphorically present the gradation of mortal thought, rising in the scale of intelligence, taking form in masculine, feminine, or neuter gender. The fowls, which fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven, correspond to aspirations soaring beyond and above corporeality to the understanding of the incorporeal and divine Principle, Love.
EUFRATES (río). La Ciencia divina, que circunda al universo y al hombre; la idea verdadera de Dios; un símbolo de la gloria que ha de venir; la metafísica, que reemplaza a la física; el reino de la justicia.
Euphrates (river). Divine Science encompassing the universe and man; the true idea of God; a type of the glory which is to come; metaphysics taking the place of physics; the reign of righteousness.
VIENTO. LO que indica la fuerza de la omnipotencia y los movimientos del gobierno espiritual de Dios, abrazando todas las cosas.
Wind. That which indicates the might of omnipotence and the movements of God's spiritual government, encompassing all things.
El Espíritu bendice la multiplicación de sus puras y perfectas ideas. De los elementos infinitos de la Mente única emanan toda forma, color, cualidad y cantidad, y éstos son mentales, tanto primaria como secundariamente. Su naturaleza espiritual se discierne sólo por medio de los sentidos espirituales.
Spirit blesses the multiplication of its own pure and perfect ideas. From the infinite elements of the one Mind emanate all form, color, quality, and quantity, and these are mental, both primarily and secondarily. Their spiritual nature is discerned only through the spiritual senses.
La naturaleza proclama la ley natural y espiritual y el Amor divino, pero la creencia humana interpreta mal a la naturaleza. Las regiones árticas, los soleados trópicos, las gigantescas montañas, los alados vientos, las olas poderosas, los verdes valles, las festivas flores y los gloriosos cielos —todos indican a la Mente, la inteligencia espiritual que reflejan. Nature voices natural, spiritual law and divine Love, but human belief misinterprets nature. Arctic regions, sunny tropics, giant hills, winged winds, mighty billows, verdant vales, festive flowers, and glorious heavens, — all point to Mind, the spiritual intelligence they reflect. The floral apostles are hieroglyphs of Deity. Suns and planets teach grand lessons. The stars make night beautiful, and the leaflet turns naturally towards the light.
In the order of Science, in which the Principle is above what it reflects, all is one grand concord.
El universo físico expresa los pensamientos conscientes e inconscientes de los mortales. La fuerza física y la mente mortal son una misma cosa.
The physical universe expresses the conscious and unconscious thoughts of mortals. Physical force and mortal mind are one.
El poder que yerra es una creencia material, una mal llamada fuerza que es ciega, el producto de la voluntad y no de la sabiduría, de la mente mortal y no de la inmortal. Es la catarata que se despeña, la llama devoradora, el soplo de la tempestad. Es rayo y huracán, todo lo que es egoísta, malvado, ímprobo e impuro. El poder moral y espiritual pertenece al Espíritu, que mantiene "los vientos en Sus puños"; y esa enseñanza concuerda con la Ciencia y la armonía. En la Ciencia no puede existir ningún poder opuesto a Dios, y los sentidos físicos tienen que abandonar su falso testimonio.
Erring power is a material belief, a blind miscalled force, the offspring of will and not of wisdom, of the mortal mind and not of the immortal. It is the headlong cataract, the devouring flame, the tempest's breath. It is lightning and hurricane, all that is selfish, wicked, dishonest, and impure.
Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds the "wind in His fists;" and this teaching accords with Science and harmony. In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony.
Los llamados gases y fuerzas materiales son contrahe-churas de las fuerzas espirituales de la Mente divina, cuya potencia es la Verdad, cuya atracción es el Amor, cuya adhesión y cohesión son la Vida, que perpetúan las realidades eternas del ser. La electricidad es el agudo excedente de la materialidad que contrahace a la verdadera esencia de la espiritualidad o verdad — siendo la gran diferencia que la electricidad no es inteligente, mientras que la verdad espiritual es Mente. No hay vana furia de la mente mortal — expresada en terremotos, vientos, olas, relámpagos, fuego y ferocidad bestial — y esa llamada mente se destruye a sí misma. Las manifestaciones del mal, que contrahacen la justicia divina, se llaman en las Escrituras "la ira de Jehová". The material so-called gases and forces are counterfeits of the spiritual forces of divine Mind, whose potency is Truth, whose attraction is Love, whose adhesion and cohesion are Life, perpetuating the eternal facts of being. Electricity is the sharp surplus of materiality which counterfeits the true essence of spirituality or truth, — the great difference being that electricity is not intelligent, while spiritual truth is Mind.
There is no vapid fury of mortal mind — expressed in earthquake, wind, wave, lightning, fire, bestial ferocity — and this so-called mind is self-destroyed. The manifestations of evil, which counterfeit divine justice, are called in the Scriptures, "The anger of the Lord." In reality, they show the self-destruction of error or matter and point to matter's opposite, the strength and permanency of Spirit. Christian Science brings to light Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil.
La ciencia física (así llamada) es conocimiento humano — una ley de la mente mortal, una creencia ciega, un Sansón despojado de su fuerza. Cuando a esa creencia humana le faltan organizaciones en que apoyarse, sus fundamentos desaparecen. El universo, lo mismo que el hombre, debe ser interpretado por la Ciencia desde su Principio divino, Dios, y entonces puede comprenderse; pero cuando se explica sobre la base del sentido físico y se representa como sujeto a desarrollo, madurez y decadencia, el universo, lo mismo que el hombre, es, y tiene que continuar siendo, un enigma. La adhesión, la cohesión y la atracción son propiedades de la Mente. Pertenecen al Principio divino y sostienen el equilibrio de esa fuerza del pensamiento que lanzó a la tierra en su órbita y dijo a la ola orgullosa:
"Hasta aquí, y no más". El Espíritu es la vida, la sustancia y la continuidad de todas las cosas. Andamos sobre fuerzas. Retiradlas, y la creación forzosamente se desplomará. El conocimiento humano las llama fuerzas de la materia; pero la Ciencia divina declara que pertenecen por entero a la Mente divina, que son inherentes a esa Mente, y así las restituye a su justo lugar y clasificación.
Physical science (so-called) is human knowledge, — a law of mortal mind, a blind belief, a Samson shorn of his strength. When this human belief lacks organizations to support it, its foundations are gone.
The universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science from its divine Principle, God, and then it can be understood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to growth, maturity, and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma.
Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, "Thus far and no farther."
Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things. We tread on forces. Withdraw them, and creation must collapse. Human knowledge calls them forces of matter; but divine Science declares that they belong wholly to divine Mind, are inherent in this Mind, and so restores them to their rightful home and classification.
Las estaciones vendrán y pasarán con cambios de tiempo y ciclos, de frío y calor, de latitud y longitud. El agricultor comprobará que esos cambios no pueden afectar sus cosechas. "Como un vestido los mudarás, y serán mudados". El marino tendrá dominio sobre la atmósfera y las grandes profundidades, sobre los peces del mar y sobre las aves del cielo. El astrónomo ya no verá hacia las estrellas — verá desde ellas hacia el universo; y el floricultor obtendrá su flor antes que la semilla de ésta.
The seasons will come and go with changes of time and tide, cold and heat, latitude and longitude. The agriculturist will find that these changes cannot affect his crops. "As a vesture shalt Thou change them and they shall be changed." The mariner will have dominion over the atmosphere and the great deep, over the fish of the sea and the fowls of the air. The astronomer will no longer look up to the stars, — he will look out from them upon the universe; and the florist will find his flower before its seed.
En el universo de la Verdad, no se conoce materia. Ninguna suposición de error penetra allí. La Ciencia divina, la Palabra de Dios, dice a las tinieblas sobre la faz del error: "Dios es Todo-en-todo", y la luz del Amor siempre presente ilumina al universo.
In the universe of Truth, matter is unknown. No supposition of error enters there. Divine Science, the Word of God, saith to the darkness upon the face of error, "God is All-in-all," and the light of ever-present Love illumines the universe.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animadversión ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
