“Mira a Sion, ciudad de nuestras fiestas solemnes; tus ojos verán a Jerusalén, morada de quietud, tienda que no será desarmada, ni serán arrancadas sus estacas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rota.”
“Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.”
1. Se alegrarán el desierto y la soledad; el yermo se gozará y florecerá como la rosa.
2. Florecerá profusamente, y también se alegrará y cantará con júbilo; la gloria del Líbano le será dada, la hermosura del Carmelo y de Sarón. Ellos verán la gloria de Jehová, la hermosura del Dios nuestro.
3. Fortaleced las manos cansadas, afirmad las rodillas endebles.
4. Decid a los de corazón apocado: Esforzaos, no temáis; he aquí que vuestro Dios viene con retribución, con pago; Dios mismo vendrá, y os salvará.
5. Entonces los ojos de los ciegos serán abiertos, y los oídos de los sordos se abrirán.

1. The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
3. Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.
4. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
5. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
7. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water.
10. And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

La realidad es espiritual, armoniosa, inmutable, inmortal, divina, eterna. Nada que no sea espiritual puede ser real, armonioso o eterno. El pecado, la enfermedad y la mortalidad son los hipotéticos antípodas del Espíritu, y tienen que ser contradicciones en cuanto a la realidad.
Reality is spiritual, harmonious, immutable, immortal, divine, eternal. Nothing unspiritual can be real, harmonious, or eternal. Sin, sickness, and mortality are the suppositional antipodes of Spirit, and must be contradictions of reality.
REINO DE LOS CIELOS. El reino de la armonía en la Ciencia divina; el dominio de la Mente infalible, eterna y omnipotente; la atmósfera del Espíritu, donde el Alma es suprema.
Kingdom of Heaven. The reign of harmony in divine Science; the realm of unerring, eternal, and omnipotent Mind; the atmosphere of Spirit, where Soul is supreme.
El cielo representa a la armonía, y la Ciencia divina interpreta al Principio de la armonía celestial. El gran milagro, para el sentido humano, es el Amor divino, y la gran necesidad de la existencia es obtener la verdadera idea de lo que constituye el reino de los cielos en el hombre.
Heaven represents harmony, and divine Science interprets the Principle of heavenly harmony. The great miracle, to human sense, is divine Love, and the grand necessity of existence is to gain the true idea of what constitutes the kingdom of heaven in man.
LA NUEVA JERUSALÉN. La Ciencia divina; las realidades espirituales y la armonía del universo; el reino de los cielos, o reino de la armonía.
New Jerusalem. Divine Science; the spiritual facts and harmony of the universe; the kingdom of heaven, or reign of harmony.
Leemos en el Apocalipsis 21:1: —
Vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva; porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra pasaron, y el mar ya no existía más.
In Revelation xxi. 1 we read: —
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
…el concepto corporal de San Juan respecto a los cielos y a la tierra se había desvanecido, y en lugar de ese concepto falso estaba el concepto espiritual, el estado subjetivo por el cual pudo ver el cielo nuevo y la tierra nueva, que entrañan la idea espiritual y la consciencia de la realidad. Aquí tenemos autoridad bíblica para concluir que tal reconocimiento del ser es, y ha sido, posible a los hombres en este estado actual de existencia —que podemos estar conscientes aquí y ahora de una cesación de muerte, de pesar y de dolor. Eso es, en efecto, un goce anticipado de Ciencia Cristiana absoluta. Anímate, querido doliente, pues esa realidad del ser seguramente se manifestará algún día y de algún modo. No habrá más dolor, y se enjugará toda lágrima. Cuando leas esto, recuerda las palabras de Jesús: "El reino de Dios está entre vosotros". Esa consciencia espiritual es, por tanto, una posibilidad presente.
El autor del Apocalipsis también percibe otra visión, que es apropiada para consolar al cansado peregrino, cuyo camino es "siempre cuesta arriba."
En el Apocalipsis 21:9 escribe: —
Vino entonces a mí uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas llenas de las siete plagas postreras, y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven acá, yo te mostraré la desposada, la esposa del Cordero.
Ese ministerio de la Verdad, ese mensaje del Amor divino, llevó a Juan en espíritu. Lo elevó, hasta que estuvo consciente de las realidades espirituales del ser y de la "Nueva Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo, de Dios" —la efusión espiritual de felicidad y gloria, la cual describe como la ciudad que "se halla establecida en cuadro."
St. John's corporeal sense of the heavens and earth had vanished, and in place of this false sense was the spiritual sense, the subjective state by which he could see the new heaven and new earth, which involve the spiritual idea and consciousness of reality. This is Scriptural authority for concluding that such a recognition of being is, and has been, possible to men in this present state of existence, — that we can become conscious, here and now, of a cessation of death, sorrow, and pain. This is indeed a foretaste of absolute Christian Science. Take heart, dear sufferer, for this reality of being will surely appear sometime and in some way. There will be no more pain, and all tears will be wiped away. When you read this, remember Jesus' words, "The kingdom of God is within you." This spiritual consciousness is therefore a present possibility.
The Revelator also takes in another view, adapted to console the weary pilgrim, journeying "uphill all the way."
He writes, in Revelation xxi. 9: —
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
This ministry of Truth, this message from divine Love, carried John away in spirit. It exalted him till he became conscious of the spiritual facts of being and the "New Jerusalem, coming down from God, out of heaven," — the spiritual outpouring of bliss and glory, which he describes as the city which "lieth foursquare."
Esa ciudad sagrada, que, según se describe en el Apocalipsis (21:16), está "establecida en cuadro" y "desciende del cielo, de Dios", representa la luz y la gloria de la Ciencia divina. El arquitecto y constructor de esa Nueva Jerusalén es Dios, según leemos en la epístola a los Hebreos; y es "ciudad que tiene fundamentos". La descripción es metafórica. La enseñanza espiritual tiene que hacerse siempre por símbolos. ¿No ilustró Jesús las verdades que enseñó con el grano de mostaza y el hijo pródigo? Considerada en su sentido alegórico, la descripción de la ciudad como estando en cuadro tiene un significado profundo. Los cuatro costados de nuestra ciudad son: la Palabra, el Cristo, el cristianismo y la Ciencia divina; y "sus puertas nunca serán cerradas de día, pues allí no habrá noche". Esa ciudad es enteramente espiritual, como lo indican sus cuatro costados.
Como dice el Salmista: "Hermosa provincia, el gozo de toda la tierra, es el Monte de Sion, a los lados del norte, la ciudad del gran Rey". Es verdaderamente una ciudad del Espíritu, hermosa, regia y cuadrada. Hacia el norte sus puertas se abren sobre la Estrella Polar, la Palabra, el imán polar de la Revelación; hacia el este, sobre la estrella vista por los Magos del Oriente, que la siguieron hasta el pesebre de Jesús; hacia el sur, sobre los agradables trópicos, con la Cruz del Sur en los cielos —la Cruz del Calvario, que enlaza a la sociedad humana en solemne unión; hacia el oeste, sobre la magna percepción de la Playa Dorada del Amor y el Mar Apacible de la Armonía.
Esa ciudad celestial, iluminada por el Sol de Justicia — esa Nueva Jerusalén, ese Todo infinito, que a nosotros nos parece oculto en la nebulosidad de la lejanía— llegó a la visión de San Juan cuando moraba aún entre los mortales.
This sacred city, described in the Apocalypse (xxi. 16) as one that "lieth foursquare" and cometh "down from God, out of heaven," represents the light and glory of divine Science. The builder and maker of this New Jerusalem is God, as we read in the book of Hebrews; and it is "a city which hath foundations." The description is metaphoric. Spiritual teaching must always be by symbols. Did not Jesus illustrate the truths he taught by the mustard-seed and the prodigal? Taken in its allegorical sense, the description of the city as foursquare has a profound meaning. The four sides of our city are the Word, Christ, Christianity, and divine Science; "and the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there." This city is wholly spiritual, as its four sides indicate.
As the Psalmist saith, "Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King." It is indeed a city of the Spirit, fair, royal, and square. Northward, its gates open to the North Star, the Word, the polar magnet of Revelation; eastward, to the star seen by the Wisemen of the Orient, who followed it to the manger of Jesus; southward, to the genial tropics, with the Southern Cross in the skies, — the Cross of Calvary, which binds human society into solemn union; westward, to the grand realization of the Golden Shore of Love and the Peaceful Sea of Harmony.
This heavenly city, lighted by the Sun of Righteousness, — this New Jerusalem, this infinite All, which to us seems hidden in the mist of remoteness, — reached St. John's vision while yet he tabernacled with mortals.
¿Qué otra indicación necesitamos de la incorporeidad del hombre real sino ésta, que Juan vio el cielo y la tierra, pero "no vio en ellos templo [cuerpo]"? Ese reino de Dios está "entre vosotros" —está al alcance de la consciencia del hombre aquí mismo, y la idea espiritual lo revela. En la Ciencia divina, el hombre posee conscientemente ese reconocimiento de la armonía en la medida en que comprenda a Dios.
What further indication need we of the real man's incorporeality than this, that John saw heaven and earth with "no temple [body] therein"? This kingdom of God "is within you," — is within reach of man's consciousness here, and the spiritual idea reveals it. In divine Science, man possesses this recognition of harmony consciously in proportion to his understanding of God.
Esa morada espiritual y sagrada no tiene lindero ni límite, pero sus cuatro puntos cardinales son: primero, la Palabra de Vida, Verdad y Amor; segundo, el Cristo, la idea espiritual de Dios; tercero, el cristianismo, que es el producto del Principio divino de la idea-Cristo en la historia cristiana; cuarto, la Ciencia Cristiana, que ahora y para siempre interpreta a ese gran ejemplo y al gran Modelo. Esa ciudad de nuestro Dios no necesita ni sol ni satélite, porque el Amor es su luz y la Mente divina es en sí misma su propio intérprete. Todos los que se salvan tienen que andar en esa luz. This spiritual, holy habitation has no boundary nor limit, but its four cardinal points are: first, the Word of Life, Truth, and Love; second, the Christ, the spiritual idea of God; third, Christianity, which is the outcome of the divine Principle of the Christ-idea in Christian history; fourth, Christian Science, which to-day and forever interprets this great example and the great Exemplar. This city of our God has no need of sun or satellite, for Love is the light of it, and divine Mind is its own interpreter. All who are saved must walk in this light. Mighty potentates and dynasties will lay down their honors within the heavenly city. Its gates open towards light and glory both within and without, for all is good, and nothing can enter that city, which "defileth, ... or maketh a lie."
Tal como la mitología de la Roma pagana se ha sometido a una idea más espiritual de la Deidad, así también nuestras teorías materiales se someterán a las ideas espirituales, hasta que lo finito se someta a lo infinito, la enfermedad a la salud, el pecado a la santidad, y el reino de Dios venga "como en el cielo, así también en la tierra".
As the mythology of pagan Rome has yielded to a more spiritual idea of Deity, so will our material theories yield to spiritual ideas, until the finite gives place to the infinite, sickness to health, sin to holiness, and God's kingdom comes "in earth, as it is in heaven."
Venga Tu reino.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
