“De Jehová es la tierra y su plenitud; El mundo, y los que en él habitan.”
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
1. Venid, aclamemos alegremente a Jehová; Cantemos con júbilo a la roca de nuestra salvación.
2. Lleguemos ante su presencia con alabanza; Aclamémosle con cánticos.
3. Porque Jehová es Dios grande, Y Rey grande sobre todos los dioses.
4. Porque en su mano están las profundidades de la tierra, Y las alturas de los montes son suyas.
5. Suyo también el mar, pues él lo hizo; Y sus manos formaron la tierra seca.
6. Venid, adoremos y postrémonos; Arrodillémonos delante de Jehová nuestro Hacedor.
7. Porque él es nuestro Dios; Nosotros el pueblo de su prado, y ovejas de su mano.
1. O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
3. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
4. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
5. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
6. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.
7. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Leccion Sermon
1 Dios es nuestro amparo y fortaleza, Nuestro pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones.
2 Por tanto, no temeremos, aunque la tierra sea removida, Y se traspasen los montes al corazón del mar;
3 Aunque bramen y se turben sus aguas, Y tiemblen los montes a causa de su braveza.
4 Del río sus corrientes alegran la ciudad de Dios, El santuario de las moradas del Altísimo.
5 Dios está en medio de ella; no será conmovida. Dios la ayudará al clarear la mañana.
6 Bramaron las naciones, titubearon los reinos; Dio él su voz, se derritió la tierra.
7 Jehová de los ejércitos está con nosotros; Nuestro refugio es el Dios de Jacob.
8 Venid, ved las obras de Jehová,
9 Que hace cesar las guerras hasta los fines de la tierra. Que quiebra el arco, corta la lanza, Y quema los carros en el fuego .
10 Estad quietos, y conoced que yo soy Dios; Seré exaltado entre las naciones; enaltecido seré en la tierra.
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
11 Y vino el ángel de Jehová, y se sentó debajo de la encina que está en Ofra, la cual era de Joás abiezerita; y su hijo Gedeón estaba sacudiendo el trigo en el lagar, para esconderlo de los madianitas.
12 Y el ángel de Jehová se le apareció, y le dijo: Jehová está contigo, varón esforzado y valiente.
14 Y mirándole Jehová, le dijo: Ve con esta tu fuerza, y salvarás a Israel de la mano de los madianitas. ¿No te envío yo?
15 Entonces le respondió: Ah, señor mío, ¿con qué salvaré yo a Israel? He aquí que mi familia es pobre en Manasés, y yo el menor en la casa de mi padre.
16 Jehová le dijo: Ciertamente yo estaré contigo, y derrotarás a los madianitas como a un solo hombre.
23 Pero Jehová le dijo: Paz a ti; no tengas temor, no morirás.
24 Y edificó allí Gedeón altar a Jehová, y lo llamó Jehová-salom;
11 And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abi-ezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
12 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.
14 And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?
15 And he said unto him, Oh my Lord, wherewith shall I save Israel? behold, my family is poor in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.
16 And the Lord said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man.
23 And the Lord said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.
24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah-shalom:
1 Levantándose, pues, de mañana Jerobaal, el cual es Gedeón, y todo el pueblo que estaba con él, acamparon junto a la fuente de Harod; y tenía el campamento de los madianitas al norte,
8 Y habiendo tomado provisiones para el pueblo, y sus trompetas, envió a todos los israelitas cada uno a su tienda, y retuvo a aquellos trescientos hombres; y tenía el campamento de Madián abajo en el valle.
9 Aconteció que aquella noche Jehová le dijo: Levántate, y desciende al campamento; porque yo lo he entregado en tus manos.
16 Y repartiendo los trescientos hombres en tres escuadrones, dio a todos ellos trompetas en sus manos, y cántaros vacíos con teas ardiendo dentro de los cántaros.
19 Llegaron, pues, Gedeón y los cien hombres que llevaba consigo, al extremo del campamento, al principio de la guardia de la medianoche, cuando acababan de renovar los centinelas; y tocaron las trompetas, y quebraron los cántaros que llevaban en sus manos.
20 Y los tres escuadrones tocaron las trompetas, y quebrando los cántaros tomaron en la mano izquierda las teas, y en la derecha las trompetas con que tocaban, y gritaron: ¡Por la espada de Jehová y de Gedeón!
21 Y se estuvieron firmes cada uno en su puesto en derredor del campamento; entonces todo el ejército echó a correr dando gritos y huyendo.
22 Y los trescientos tocaban las trompetas; y Jehová puso la espada de cada uno contra su compañero en todo el campamento. Y el ejército huyó hasta Bet-sita, en dirección de Zerera, y hasta la frontera de Abel-mehola en Tabat.
23 Y juntándose los de Israel, de Neftalí, de Aser y de todo Manasés, siguieron a los madianitas.
1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose up early, and pitched beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them,
8 So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
9 And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Arise, get thee down unto the host; for I have delivered it into thine hand.
16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands.
20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.
21 And they stood every man in his place round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the Lord set every man’s sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Beth-shittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abel-meholah, unto Tabbath.
23 And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.
22 Y los israelitas dijeron a Gedeón: Sé nuestro señor, tú, y tu hijo, y tu nieto; pues que nos has librado de mano de Madián.
23 Mas Gedeón respondió: No seré señor sobre vosotros, ni mi hijo os señoreará: Jehová señoreará sobre vosotros.
22 Then the men of Israel said unto Gideon, Rule thou over us, both thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son also: for thou hast delivered us from the hand of Midian.
23 And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the Lord shall rule over you.
8 Ciertamente yo buscaría a Dios, Y encomendaría a él mi causa;
9 El cual hace cosas grandes e inescrutables, Y maravillas sin número;
12 Que frustra los pensamientos de los astutos, Para que sus manos no hagan nada;
13 Que prende a los sabios en la astucia de ellos, Y frustra los designios de los perversos.
19 En seis tribulaciones te librará, Y en la séptima no te tocará el mal.
20 En el hambre te salvará de la muerte, Y del poder de la espada en la guerra.
21 Del azote de la lengua serás encubierto; No temerás la destrucción cuando viniere.
24 Sabrás que hay paz en tu tienda;
8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace;
1 Sométase toda persona a las autoridades superiores; porque no hay autoridad sino de parte de Dios, y las que hay, por Dios han sido establecidas.
1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Dios crea y gobierna el universo, incluso el hombre. El universo está lleno de ideas espirituales, que Dios desarrolla, y éstas obedecen a la Mente que las crea.
God creates and governs the universe, including man. The universe is filled with spiritual ideas, which He evolves, and they are obedient to the Mind that makes them.
Dios derrama las riquezas de Su amor en el entendimiento y los afectos, dándonos fuerzas según nuestros días.
God pours the riches of His love into the understanding and affections, giving us strength according to our day.
El Amor divino bendice sus ideas y hace que se multipliquen —que manifiesten Su poder. El hombre no ha sido creado para labrar la tierra. Su patrimonio es señorío, no servidumbre. Señorea sobre la creencia de tierra y cielo y está subordinado sólo a su Hacedor. Eso es la Ciencia del ser.
Divine Love blesses its own ideas, and causes them to multiply, — to manifest His power. Man is not made to till the soil. His birthright is dominion, not subjection. He is lord of the belief in earth and heaven, — himself subordinate alone to his Maker. This is the Science of being.
El poder moral y espiritual pertenece al Espíritu, que mantiene "los vientos en Sus puños"; y esa enseñanza concuerda con la Ciencia y la armonía. En la Ciencia no puede existir ningún poder opuesto a Dios, y los sentidos físicos tienen que abandonar su falso testimonio. Vuestra influencia para bien depende del peso que echéis en el platillo correcto de la balanza. El bien que hacéis e incorporáis os da el único poder obtenible. El mal no es poder. Es un remedo de la fuerza, el cual muy pronto muestra su debilidad y cae para jamás levantarse.
Moral and spiritual might belong to Spirit, who holds the "wind in His fists;" and this teaching accords with Science and harmony. In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. Your influence for good depends upon the weight you throw into the right scale. The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise.
En la Ciencia divina, donde las oraciones son mentales, todos pueden contar con Dios como "pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones". El Amor es imparcial y universal en su adaptación y en sus dádivas. Es el manantial abierto que exclama: "Todos los sedientos: Venid a las aguas."
In divine Science, where prayers are mental, all may avail themselves of God as "a very present help in trouble." Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals. It is the open fount which cries, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters."
La materia no puede alterar el hecho eterno de que el hombre existe porque Dios existe. Nada es nuevo para la Mente infinita.
En la Ciencia, ni la Mente produce materia, ni la materia produce mente. Ninguna mente mortal tiene el poder o el derecho o la sabiduría para crear o destruir. Todo está bajo el dominio de la Mente única, o sea Dios.
Matter cannot change the eternal fact that man exists because God exists. Nothing is new to the infinite Mind.
In Science, Mind neither produces matter nor does matter produce mind. No mortal mind has the might or right or wisdom to create or to destroy. All is under the control of the one Mind, even God.
Los llamados gases y fuerzas materiales son contrahechuras de las fuerzas espirituales de la Mente divina, cuya potencia es la Verdad, cuya atracción es el Amor, cuya adhesión y cohesión son la Vida, que perpetúan las realidades eternas del ser.
The material so-called gases and forces are counterfeits of the spiritual forces of divine Mind, whose potency is Truth, whose attraction is Love, whose adhesion and cohesion are Life, perpetuating the eternal facts of being.
La ciencia física (así llamada) es conocimiento humano —una ley de la mente mortal, una creencia ciega, un Sansón despojado de su fuerza. Cuando a esa creencia humana le faltan organizaciones en que apoyarse, sus fundamentos desaparecen. Como no tiene fuerza moral, ni base espiritual, ni Principio santo que le pertenezcan, esa creencia confunde el efecto con la causa y trata de hallar vida e inteligencia en la materia, limitando así la Vida y aferrándose a la discordia y la muerte.
El universo, lo mismo que el hombre, debe ser interpretado por la Ciencia desde su Principio divino, Dios, y entonces puede comprenderse; pero cuando se explica sobre la base del sentido físico y se representa como sujeto a desarrollo, madurez y decadencia, el universo, lo mismo que el hombre, es, y tiene que continuar siendo, un enigma.
La adhesión, la cohesión y la atracción son propiedades de la Mente. Pertenecen al Principio divino y sostienen el equilibrio de esa fuerza del pensamiento que lanzó a la tierra en su órbita y dijo a la ola orgullosa: "Hasta aquí, y no más".
El Espíritu es la vida, la sustancia y la continuidad de todas las cosas. Andamos sobre fuerzas. Retiradlas, y la creación forzosamente se desplomará. El conocimiento humano las llama fuerzas de la materia; pero la Ciencia divina declara que pertenecen por entero a la Mente divina, que son inherentes a esa Mente, y así las restituye a su justo lugar y clasificación.
Physical science (so-called) is human knowledge, — a law of mortal mind, a blind belief, a Samson shorn of his strength. When this human belief lacks organizations to support it, its foundations are gone. Having neither moral might, spiritual basis, nor holy Principle of its own, this belief mistakes effect for cause and seeks to find life and intelligence in matter, thus limiting Life and holding fast to discord and death.
The universe, like man, is to be interpreted by Science from its divine Principle, God, and then it can be understood; but when explained on the basis of physical sense and represented as subject to growth, maturity, and decay, the universe, like man, is, and must continue to be, an enigma.
Adhesion, cohesion, and attraction are properties of Mind. They belong to divine Principle, and support the equipoise of that thought-force, which launched the earth in its orbit and said to the proud wave, "Thus far and no farther."
Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things. We tread on forces. Withdraw them, and creation must collapse. Human knowledge calls them forces of matter; but divine Science declares that they belong wholly to divine Mind, are inherent in this Mind, and so restores them to their rightful home and classification.
La teoría verdadera del universo, incluso el hombre, no se encuentra en la historia material sino en el desarrollo espiritual. El pensamiento inspirado renuncia a una teoría material, sensual y mortal del universo y adopta la espiritual e inmortal.
The true theory of the universe, including man, is not in material history but in spiritual development. Inspired thought relinquishes a material, sensual, and mortal theory of the universe, and adopts the spiritual and immortal.
El Amor señalará finalmente la hora de la armonía, y entonces vendrá la espiritualización, porque el Amor es Espíritu. Antes que el error sea totalmente destruido, habrá interrupciones de la rutina material general. La tierra se pondrá lúgubre y estará desolada, pero el verano y el invierno, la sementera y la siega (aunque en formas distintas), continuarán hasta el fin —hasta la espiritualización final de todas las cosas. "La hora más oscura precede al amanecer".
Este mundo material ya está convirtiéndose ahora en la arena de fuerzas en conflicto. De un lado habrá discordia y consternación; del otro habrá Ciencia y paz. La desintegración de las creencias materiales tal vez parezca ser hambre y pestilencia, miseria y dolor, pecado, enfermedad y muerte, que asumen nuevas fases hasta que aparece su nada. Esas perturbaciones continuarán hasta el fin del error, cuando toda discordancia será absorbida por la Verdad espiritual.
Cuando esa consumación se acerque, el que haya modelado su vida de acuerdo con la Ciencia divina, perseverará hasta el fin. A medida que disminuya el conocimiento material y aumente la comprensión espiritual, los objetos reales se percibirán mentalmente, en vez de materialmente.
Durante ese conflicto final, mentes malignas se esforzarán por encontrar medios con los cuales causar más daño; pero quienes disciernan la Ciencia Cristiana refrenarán el crimen. Ayudarán a expulsar el error. Mantendrán la ley y el orden y esperarán gozosos la certeza de la perfección final.
Love will finally mark the hour of harmony, and spiritualization will follow, for Love is Spirit. Before error is wholly destroyed, there will be interruptions of the general material routine. Earth will become dreary and desolate, but summer and winter, seedtime and harvest (though in changed forms), will continue unto the end, — until the final spiritualization of all things. "The darkest hour precedes the dawn."
This material world is even now becoming the arena for conflicting forces. On one side there will be discord and dismay; on the other side there will be Science and peace. The breaking up of material beliefs may seem to be famine and pestilence, want and woe, sin, sickness, and death, which assume new phases until their nothingness appears. These disturbances will continue until the end of error, when all discord will be swallowed up in spiritual Truth.
As this consummation draws nearer, he who has shaped his course in accordance with divine Science will endure to the end. As material knowledge diminishes and spiritual understanding increases, real objects will be apprehended mentally instead of materially.
During this final conflict, wicked minds will endeavor to find means by which to accomplish more evil; but those who discern Christian Science will hold crime in check. They will aid in the ejection of error. They will maintain law and order, and cheerfully await the certainty of ultimate perfection.
La sustancia, la Vida, la inteligencia, la Verdad y el Amor que constituyen la Deidad son reflejados por Su creación; y cuando subordinemos el falso testimonio de los sentidos corporales a las realidades de la Ciencia, veremos esa semejanza y reflejo verdaderos en todas partes.
The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation; and when we subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
