1. Las misericordias de Jehová cantaré perpetuamente;
2. En los cielos mismos afirmarás tu verdad.

15. Bienaventurado el pueblo que sabe aclamarte; Andará, oh Jehová, a la luz de tu rostro.

1 En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
26 Entonces dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza;

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
1 Fueron, pues, acabados los cielos y la tierra, y todo el ejército de ellos.
6 sino que subía de la tierra un vapor, el cual regaba toda la faz de la tierra.
7 Entonces Jehová Dios formó al hombre del polvo de la tierra, y sopló en su nariz aliento de vida, y fue el hombre un ser viviente.
21 Entonces Jehová Dios hizo caer sueño profundo sobre Adán, y mientras este dormía, tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar.
22 Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, hizo una mujer, y la trajo al hombre.
25 Y estaban ambos desnudos, Adán y su mujer, y no se avergonzaban.
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

11 La altivez de los ojos del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y Jehová solo será exaltado en aquel día.
12 Porque día de Jehová de los ejércitos vendrá sobre todo soberbio y altivo, sobre todo enaltecido, y será abatido;

11 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
29 Mas si desde allí buscares a Jehová tu Dios, lo hallarás, si lo buscares de todo tu corazón y de toda tu alma.
31 porque Dios misericordioso es Jehová tu Dios; no te dejará, ni te destruirá, ni se olvidará del pacto que les juró a tus padres.
29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
10 Vosotros todos estáis hoy en presencia de Jehová vuestro Dios;
12 para que entres en el pacto de Jehová tu Dios, y en su juramento, que Jehová tu Dios concierta hoy contigo,
13 para confirmarte hoy como su pueblo, y para que él te sea a ti por Dios, de la manera que él te ha dicho, y como lo juró a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.
10 Ye stand this day all of you before the Lord your God;
12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the Lord thy God, and into his oath, which the Lord thy God maketh with thee this day:
13 That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
1 Hubo un varón de Ramataim de Zofim, del monte de Efraín, que se llamaba Elcana,
2 Y tenía él dos mujeres; el nombre de una era Ana, y el de la otra, Penina. Y Penina tenía hijos, mas Ana no los tenía.
6 Y su rival la irritaba, enojándola y entristeciéndola, porque Jehová no le había concedido tener hijos.
8 Y Elcana su marido le dijo: Ana, ¿por qué lloras? ¿por qué no comes? ¿y por qué está afligido tu corazón? ¿No te soy yo mejor que diez hijos?
9 Y se levantó Ana después que hubo comido y bebido en Silo; y mientras el sacerdote Elí estaba sentado en una silla junto a un pilar del templo de Jehová,
10 ella con amargura de alma oró a Jehová, y lloró abundantemente.
11 E hizo voto, diciendo: Jehová de los ejércitos, si te dignares mirar a la aflicción de tu sierva, y te acordares de mí, y no te olvidares de tu sierva, sino que dieres a tu sierva un hijo varón, yo lo dedicaré a Jehová todos los días de su vida,
17 Elí respondió y dijo: Ve en paz, y el Dios de Israel te otorgue la petición que le has hecho.
18 Y ella dijo: Halle tu sierva gracia delante de tus ojos. Y se fue la mujer por su camino, y comió, y no estuvo más triste.
19 … Y Elcana se llegó a Ana su mujer, y Jehová se acordó de ella.
20 Aconteció que al cumplirse el tiempo, después de haber concebido Ana, dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Samuel, diciendo: Por cuanto lo pedí a Jehová.
24 Después que lo hubo destetado, lo llevó consigo,
25 … trajeron el niño a Elí.
26 Y ella dijo: ¡Oh, señor mío! Vive tu alma, señor mío, yo soy aquella mujer que estuvo aquí junto a ti orando a Jehová.
27 Por este niño oraba, y Jehová me dio lo que le pedí.
28 Yo, pues, lo dedico también a Jehová; todos los días que viva, será de Jehová.
1 Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah,
2 And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah: and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?
9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord.
10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.
11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life,
17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.
18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
19 ...and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her.
20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord.
24 And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her,
25 …and brought the child to Eli.
26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord.
27 For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him:
28 Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.
1 Oídme, los que seguís la justicia, los que buscáis a Jehová. Mirad a la piedra de donde fuisteis cortados,
4 Estad atentos a mí, pueblo mío, y oídme, nación mía; porque de mí saldrá la ley, y mi justicia para luz de los pueblos.
5 Cercana está mi justicia, ha salido mi salvación, y mis brazos juzgarán a los pueblos; a mí me esperan los de la costa, y en mi brazo ponen su esperanza.
7 Oídme, los que conocéis justicia, pueblo en cuyo corazón está mi ley. No temáis afrenta de hombre, ni desmayéis por sus ultrajes.
8 …pero mi justicia permanecerá perpetuamente, y mi salvación por siglos de siglos.
1 Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn,
4 Hearken unto me, my people; and give ear unto me, O my nation: for a law shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgment to rest for a light of the people.
5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
8 but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
MADRE. Dios; Principio divino y eterno; Vida, Verdad y Amor.
Mother. God; divine and eternal Principle; Life, Truth, and Love.
En la Ciencia el hombre es linaje del Espíritu. Lo bello, lo bueno y lo puro constituyen su ascendencia. Su origen no está, como el de los mortales, en el instinto bruto, ni pasa él por condiciones materiales antes de alcanzar la inteligencia. El Espíritu es la fuente primitiva y última de su ser; Dios es su Padre, y la Vida es la ley de su existencia.
In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being.
Mantened claramente en vuestro pensamiento que el hombre es linaje de Dios y no del hombre; que el hombre es espiritual y no material; que el Alma es Espíritu, afuera de la materia, nunca en ella, jamás dando al cuerpo ni vida ni sensación.
Keep distinctly in thought that man is the offspring of God, not of man; that man is spiritual, not material; that Soul is Spirit, outside of matter, never in it, never giving the body life and sensation.
El universo del Espíritu está poblado de seres espirituales, y su gobierno es la Ciencia divina. El hombre es vástago, no de las más bajas, sino de las más altas cualidades de la Mente. El hombre comprende la existencia espiritual en la proporción en que aumenta sus tesoros de Verdad y Amor. Los mortales deben gravitar hacia Dios, espiritualizando sus afectos y propósitos — deben acercarse a interpretaciones más amplias del ser y obtener un concepto más acertado del infinito — a fin de poder despojarse del pecado y la mortalidad.
The universe of Spirit is peopled with spiritual beings, and its government is divine Science. Man is the offspring, not of the lowest, but of the highest qualities of Mind. Man understands spiritual existence in proportion as his treasures of Truth and Love are enlarged. Mortals must gravitate Godward, their affections and aims grow spiritual, — they must near the broader interpretations of being, and gain some proper sense of the infinite, — in order that sin and mortality may be put off.
Al avanzar hacia un plano superior de acción, el pensamiento se eleva del sentido material al espiritual, de lo escolástico a lo inspirativo y de lo mortal a lo inmortal. Todas las cosas son creadas espiritualmente. La Mente, no la materia, es el creador. El Amor, el Principio divino, es el Padre y la Madre del universo, incluso el hombre.
Una Mente ilimitada no puede proceder de limitaciones físicas. Lo finito no puede presentar ni la idea ni la inmensidad de lo infinito. Una mente que se origina en una fuente finita o material tiene que ser limitada y finita. La Mente infinita es el creador, y la creación es la imagen o idea infinita que emana de esa Mente.
Advancing to a higher plane of action, thought rises from the material sense to the spiritual, from the scholastic to the inspirational, and from the mortal to the immortal. All things are created spiritually. Mind, not matter, is the creator. Love, the divine Principle, is the Father and Mother of the universe, including man.
A limitless Mind cannot proceed from physical limitations. Finiteness cannot present the idea or the vastness of infinity. A mind originating from a finite or material source must be limited and finite. Infinite Mind is the creator, and creation is the infinite image or idea emanating from this Mind.
La Vida no está en la materia. Por consiguiente, no puede decirse que sale de la materia. La materia y la muerte son ilusiones mortales. El Espíritu y todas las cosas espirituales son lo real y eterno.
El hombre no es linaje de la carne, sino del Espíritu — de la Vida, no de la materia. Puesto que la Vida es Dios, la Vida tiene que ser eterna, existente por sí misma. La Vida es el eterno YO SOY, el Ser que era, y es, y que será, a quien nada puede borrar.
Life is not in matter. Therefore it cannot be said to pass out of matter. Matter and death are mortal illusions. Spirit and all things spiritual are the real and eternal.
Man is not the offspring of flesh, but of Spirit, — of Life, not of matter. Because Life is God, Life must be eternal, self-existent. Life is the everlasting I am, the Being who was and is and shall be, whom nothing can erase.
Lo bueno en los afectos humanos ha de tener predominio sobre lo malo, y lo espiritual sobre lo animal, pues, de lo contrario, nunca se alcanzará la felicidad. El llegar a esa condición celestial mejoraría nuestra prole, disminuiría el crimen y daría fines más elevados a la ambición. Todo valle de pecado tiene que ser alzado y todo monte de egoísmo bajado, para que se prepare el camino de nuestro Dios en la Ciencia. Los hijos de padres de mente espiritualizada heredan más intelecto, mentes más equilibradas y constituciones más sanas.
The good in human affections must have ascendency over the evil and the spiritual over the animal, or happiness will never be won. The attainment of this celestial condition would improve our progeny, diminish crime, and give higher aims to ambition. Every valley of sin must be exalted, and every mountain of selfishness be brought low, that the highway of our God may be prepared in Science. The offspring of heavenly-minded parents inherit more intellect, better balanced minds, and sounder constitutions.
La honestidad y la virtud aseguran la estabilidad del pacto matrimonial. El Espíritu reclamará al fin lo suyo — todo lo que realmente existe — y las voces de los sentidos corporales serán acalladas para siempre.
La experiencia debiera ser la escuela de la virtud, y la felicidad humana debiera proceder de la naturaleza más elevada del hombre. Quiera el Cristo, la Verdad, estar presente en todo altar nupcial para convertir el agua en vino y para dar a la vida humana una inspiración por la cual pueda percibirse la existencia espiritual y eterna del hombre.
Honesty and virtue ensure the stability of the marriage covenant. Spirit will ultimately claim its own, — all that really is, — and the voices of physical sense will be forever hushed.
Experience should be the school of virtue, and human happiness should proceed from man's highest nature. May Christ, Truth, be present at every bridal altar to turn the water into wine and to give to human life an inspiration by which man's spiritual and eternal existence may be discerned.
El comprender espiritualmente que no hay sino un solo creador, Dios, revela toda la creación, confirma las Escrituras, trae la dulce seguridad de que no hay separación ni dolor y que el hombre es imperecedero, perfecto y eterno.
Si los Científicos Cristianos educan a sus propios hijos espiritualmente, pueden educar a otros espiritualmente y no estar en conflicto con el sentido científico de la creación de Dios. Algún día el hijo preguntará a su padre: "¿Guardas el Primer Mandamiento? ¿Tienes un solo Dios y creador, o es el hombre un creador?" Si el padre le responde: "Dios crea al hombre por medio del hombre", el hijo podría preguntarle: "¿Enseñas que el Espíritu crea materialmente, o declaras que el Espíritu es infinito y que, por consiguiente, la materia está fuera de la cuestión?”
Spiritually to understand that there is but one creator, God, unfolds all creation, confirms the Scriptures, brings the sweet assurance of no parting, no pain, and of man deathless and perfect and eternal.
If Christian Scientists educate their own offspring spiritually, they can educate others spiritually and not conflict with the scientific sense of God's creation. Some day the child will ask his parent: "Do you keep the First Commandment? Do you have one God and creator, or is man a creator?" If the father replies, "God creates man through man," the child may ask, "Do you teach that Spirit creates materially, or do you declare that Spirit is infinite, therefore matter is out of the question?"
Toda la educación de los niños debiera tender a formar hábitos de obediencia a la ley moral y espiritual, con la cual el niño pueda enfrentar la creencia en las llamadas leyes físicas y vencerla, creencia que origina enfermedades.
Se debiera dejar que los niños sigan siendo niños en sus conocimientos, y ellos debieran llegar a ser hombres y mujeres sólo a través del crecimiento de su comprensión de la naturaleza superior del hombre. La naturaleza superior del hombre no está gobernada por la inferior; si lo estuviera, el orden de la sabiduría estaría invertido.
The entire education of children should be such as to form habits of obedience to the moral and spiritual law, with which the child can meet and master the belief in so-called physical laws, a belief which breeds disease.
Children should be allowed to remain children in knowledge, and should become men and women only through growth in the understanding of man's higher nature.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed.
El amor enriquece nuestra naturaleza, engrandeciéndola, purificándola y elevándola.
Love enriches the nature, enlarging, purifying, and elevating it.
Algún día comprenderemos cómo el Espíritu, el gran arquitecto, ha creado a hombres y mujeres en la Ciencia. Debiéramos hastiarnos de lo efímero y falso y no fomentar nada que se oponga a nuestra individualidad más elevada.
En la proporción en que cese la generación humana, los intactos eslabones del ser eterno y armonioso se percibirán espiritualmente; y aparecerá el hombre, no de la tierra, terrenal, sino coexistente con Dios. El hecho científico de que el hombre y el universo proceden del Espíritu, y son por eso espirituales, está tan establecido en la Ciencia divina como lo está la prueba de que los mortales alcanzan el sentido de salud sólo a medida que pierden el sentido de pecado y de enfermedad. Los mortales nunca podrán comprender la creación de Dios mientras crean que el hombre es un creador. Los hijos de Dios, ya creados, serán reconocidos sólo cuando el hombre llegue a conocer la verdad del ser. Así es que el hombre real e ideal aparece en la proporción en que desaparece el falso y material.
Sometime we shall learn how Spirit, the great architect, has created men and women in Science. We ought to weary of the fleeting and false and to cherish nothing which hinders our highest selfhood.
Proportionately as human generation ceases, the unbroken links of eternal, harmonious being will be spiritually discerned; and man, not of the earth earthly but coexistent with God, will appear. The scientific fact that man and the universe are evolved from Spirit, and so are spiritual, is as fixed in divine Science as is the proof that mortals gain the sense of health only as they lose the sense of sin and disease. Mortals can never understand God's creation while believing that man is a creator. God's children already created will be cognized only as man finds the truth of being. Thus it is that the real, ideal man appears in proportion as the false and material disappears.
Refiriéndose a los hijos de Dios, no a los hijos de los hombres, Jesús dijo: "El reino de Dios está entre vosotros"; esto es, la Verdad y el Amor reinan en el hombre verdadero, mostrando que el hombre a imagen de Dios no ha caído y es eterno.
When speaking of God's children, not the children of men, Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you;" that is, Truth and Love reign in the real man, showing that man in God's image is unfallen and eternal.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
