“All things work together for good to them that love God.”
7. Amados, amémonos unos a otros; porque el amor es de Dios. Todo aquel que ama, es nacido de Dios, y conoce a Dios.
8. El que no ama, no ha conocido a Dios; porque Dios es amor.
9. En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para con nosotros, en que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.
10. En esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que él nos amó a nosotros, y envió a su Hijo en propiciación por nuestros pecados.
11. Amados, si Dios nos ha amado así, debemos también nosotros amarnos unos a otros.
12. Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios. Si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros, y su amor se ha perfeccionado en nosotros.
7. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

3 Jehová se manifestó a mí hace ya mucho tiempo, diciendo: Con amor eterno te he amado; por tanto, te prolongué mi misericordia.
3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
1 Sed, pues, imitadores de Dios como hijos amados.
2 Y andad en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros, ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios en olor fragante.
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
1 …un varón de Belén de Judá fue a morar en los campos de Moab, él y su mujer, y dos hijos suyos.
2 El nombre de aquel varón era Elimelec, y el de su mujer, Noemí; y los nombres de sus hijos eran Mahlón y Quelión, efrateos de Belén de Judá. Llegaron, pues, a los campos de Moab, y se quedaron allí.
3 Y murió Elimelec, marido de Noemí, y quedó ella con sus dos hijos,
4 los cuales tomaron para sí mujeres moabitas; el nombre de una era Orfa, y el nombre de la otra, Rut; y habitaron allí unos diez años.
5 Y murieron también los dos, Mahlón y Quelión, quedando así la mujer desamparada de sus dos hijos y de su marido.
6 Entonces se levantó con sus nueras, y regresó de los campos de Moab; porque oyó en el campo de Moab que Jehová había visitado a su pueblo para darles pan.
8 Y Noemí dijo a sus dos nueras: Andad, volveos cada una a la casa de su madre; Jehová haga con vosotras misericordia, como la habéis hecho con los muertos y conmigo
14 … y Orfa besó a su suegra, mas Rut se quedó con ella.
16 Respondió Rut: No me ruegues que te deje, y me aparte de ti; porque a dondequiera que tú fueres, iré yo, y dondequiera que vivieres, viviré. Tu pueblo será mi pueblo, y tu Dios mi Dios.
19 Anduvieron, pues, ellas dos hasta que llegaron a Belén;
1 …a certain man of Beth-lehem-judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
2 And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth-lehem-judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.
3 And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.
4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.
6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.
8 And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.
14 …and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
19 So they two went until they came to Beth-lehem.
1 Tenía Noemí un pariente de su marido, hombre rico de la familia de Elimelec, el cual se llamaba Booz.
2 Y Rut la moabita dijo a Noemí: Te ruego que me dejes ir al campo, y recogeré espigas en pos de aquel a cuyos ojos hallare gracia. Y ella le respondió: Ve, hija mía.
8 Entonces Booz dijo a Rut: Oye, hija mía, no vayas a espigar a otro campo, ni pases de aquí; y aquí estarás junto a mis criadas.
9 Mira bien el campo que sieguen, y síguelas; porque yo he mandado a los criados que no te molesten. Y cuando tengas sed, ve a las vasijas, y bebe del agua que sacan los criados.
10 Ella entonces bajando su rostro se inclinó a tierra, y le dijo: ¿Por qué he hallado gracia en tus ojos para que me reconozcas, siendo yo extranjera?
11 Y respondiendo Booz, le dijo: He sabido todo lo que has hecho con tu suegra después de la muerte de tu marido, y que dejando a tu padre y a tu madre y la tierra donde naciste, has venido a un pueblo que no conociste antes.
12 Jehová recompense tu obra, y tu remuneración sea cumplida de parte de Jehová Dios de Israel, bajo cuyas alas has venido a refugiarte.
1 And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2 And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.
8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:
9 Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
10 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
11 And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.
12 The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
13 Booz, pues, tomó a Rut, y ella fue su mujer; y se llegó a ella, y Jehová le dio que concibiese y diese a luz un hijo.
17 Y le dieron nombre las vecinas, diciendo: Le ha nacido un hijo a Noemí; y lo llamaron Obed. Este es padre de Isaí, padre de David.
13 So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son.
17 And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
16 Dios es amor; y el que permanece en amor, permanece en Dios, y Dios en él.
17 En esto se ha perfeccionado el amor en nosotros, para que tengamos confianza en el día del juicio; pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
18 En el amor no hay temor, sino que el perfecto amor echa fuera el temor; porque el temor lleva en sí castigo. De donde el que teme, no ha sido perfeccionado en el amor.
19 Nosotros le amamos a él, porque él nos amó primero.
16 God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

23 Mantengamos firme, sin fluctuar, la profesión de nuestra esperanza, porque fiel es el que prometió.
24 Y considerémonos unos a otros para estimularnos al amor y a las buenas obras;

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
8 Finalmente, sed todos de un mismo sentir, compasivos, amándoos fraternalmente, misericordiosos, amigables;
9 no devolviendo mal por mal, ni maldición por maldición, sino por el contrario, bendiciendo, sabiendo que fuisteis llamados para que heredaseis bendición.
10 Porque: El que quiere amar la vida Y ver días buenos, Refrene su lengua de mal, Y sus labios no hablen engaño;
11 Apártese del mal, y haga el bien; Busque la paz, y sígala.

8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:
2 Apacentad la grey de Dios que está entre vosotros, cuidando de ella, no por fuerza, sino voluntariamente; no por ganancia deshonesta, sino con ánimo pronto;
3 no como teniendo señorío sobre los que están a vuestro cuidado, sino siendo ejemplos de la grey.
4 Y cuando aparezca el Príncipe de los pastores, vosotros recibiréis la corona incorruptible de gloria.
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
"Dios es Amor". Más que eso no podemos pedir, más alto no podemos mirar, más allá no podemos ir.
"God is Love." More than this we cannot ask, higher we cannot look, farther we cannot go.
El amor a Dios y al hombre es el verdadero incentivo en la curación y en la enseñanza. El Amor inspira el camino, lo ilumina, lo designa y va adelante en él. Los móviles rectos dan alas al pensamiento, y fuerza y soltura a la palabra y a la acción. El amor es sacerdote en el altar de la Verdad. Esperad pacientemente a que el Amor divino se mueva sobre la faz de las aguas de la mente mortal y forme el concepto perfecto. La paciencia debe "tener su obra completa”.
Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action. Love is priestess at the altar of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must "have her perfect work."
El Amor es imparcial y universal en su adaptación y en sus dádivas. Es el manantial abierto que exclama: "Todos los sedientos: Venid a las aguas".
Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals. It is the open fount which cries, "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters."
Dios es el Principio de la metafísica divina. Puesto que no hay sino un solo Dios, sólo puede haber un solo Principio divino de toda Ciencia; y tiene que haber reglas fijas para demostrar ese Principio divino. La letra de la Ciencia llega abundantemente a la humanidad hoy en día, pero su espíritu viene solamente en grados pequeños. La parte vital, el corazón y alma de la Ciencia Cristiana, es el Amor. Sin éste, la letra es sólo el cuerpo muerto de la Ciencia —sin pulso, frío, inanimado.
God is the Principle of divine metaphysics. As there is but one God, there can be but one divine Principle of all Science; and there must be fixed rules for the demonstration of this divine Principle. The letter of Science plentifully reaches humanity to-day, but its spirit comes only in small degrees. The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love. Without this, the letter is but the dead body of Science, — pulseless, cold, inanimate.
Jesús ayudó a reconciliar al hombre con Dios dando al hombre un concepto más verdadero del Amor, el Principio divino de las enseñanzas de Jesús, y ese concepto más verdadero del Amor redime al hombre de la ley de la materia, del pecado y de la muerte, por la ley del Espíritu —la ley del Amor divino.
Jesus aided in reconciling man to God by giving man a truer sense of Love, the divine Principle of Jesus' teachings, and this truer sense of Love redeems man from the law of matter, sin, and death by the law of Spirit, — the law of divine Love.
El Amor divino siempre ha respondido y siempre responderá a toda necesidad humana. No está bien imaginarse que Jesús demostró el poder divino sanador sólo en beneficio de un número selecto o de un tiempo limitado, puesto que a la humanidad entera y a toda hora el Amor divino suministra todo el bien.
El milagro de la gracia no es milagro para el Amor.
Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. It is not well to imagine that Jesus demonstrated the divine power to heal only for a select number or for a limited period of time, since to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good.
The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love.
El amor propio es más opaco que un cuerpo sólido. En paciente obediencia a un Dios paciente, laboremos por disolver con el solvente universal del Amor la dureza adamantina del error —la obstinación, la justificación propia y el amor propio— que lucha contra la espiritualidad y es la ley del pecado y la muerte.
Self-love is more opaque than a solid body. In patient obedience to a patient God, let us labor to dissolve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant of error, — self-will, self-justification, and self-love, — which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin and death.
Para ser verdaderamente feliz, el hombre debe armonizar con su Principio, el Amor divino; el Hijo debe estar de acuerdo con el Padre, en conformidad con Cristo. Según la Ciencia divina, el hombre es en cierta medida tan perfecto como la Mente que lo forma. La verdad del ser hace armonioso e inmortal al hombre, mientras que el error es mortal y discordante.
For true happiness, man must harmonize with his Principle, divine Love; the Son must be in accord with the Father, in conformity with Christ. According to divine Science, man is in a degree as perfect as the Mind that forms him. The truth of being makes man harmonious and immortal, while error is mortal and discordant.
La felicidad es espiritual, nacida de la Verdad y el Amor. No es egoísta; por lo tanto no puede existir sola, sino que requiere que toda la humanidad la comparta.
El afecto humano no se prodiga en vano, aunque no sea correspondido. El amor enriquece nuestra naturaleza, engrandeciéndola, purificándola y elevándola. Las ráfagas invernales de la tierra puede que desarraiguen las flores del cariño y las dispersen al viento; pero esa ruptura de lazos carnales sirve para unir más estrechamente el pensamiento con Dios, porque el Amor sostiene al corazón que lucha, hasta que cese de suspirar por causa del mundo y empiece a desplegar sus alas para remontarse al cielo.
Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it.
Human affection is not poured forth vainly, even though it meet no return. Love enriches the nature, enlarging, purifying, and elevating it. The wintry blasts of earth may uproot the flowers of affection, and scatter them to the winds; but this severance of fleshly ties serves to unite thought more closely to God, for Love supports the struggling heart until it ceases to sigh over the world and begins to unfold its wings for heaven.
¿Sería la existencia sin amigos personales un vacío para vosotros? Llegará el tiempo, entonces, en que os encontraréis solitarios, sin que nadie se compadezca de vosotros; mas ese aparente vacío ya está colmado de Amor divino. Cuando llegue esa hora de desarrollo, aun cuando os aferréis a un sentido de goces personales, el Amor espiritual os obligará a aceptar lo que mejor promueva vuestro progreso. Amigos traicionarán y enemigos calumniarán, hasta que la lección sea suficiente para elevaros; pues "la necesidad extrema del hombre es la oportunidad de Dios". La autora ha pasado por la experiencia de la profecía antedicha y recibido sus bendiciones. Así enseña Dios a los mortales a abandonar su carnalidad y a adquirir la espiritualidad. Eso se logra mediante la abnegación. El Amor universal es el camino divino en la Ciencia Cristiana.
Would existence without personal friends be to you a blank? Then the time will come when you will be solitary, left without sympathy; but this seeming vacuum is already filled with divine Love. When this hour of development comes, even if you cling to a sense of personal joys, spiritual Love will force you to accept what best promotes your growth. Friends will betray and enemies will slander, until the lesson is sufficient to exalt you; for "man's extremity is God's opportunity." The author has experienced the foregoing prophecy and its blessings. Thus He teaches mortals to lay down their fleshliness and gain spirituality. This is done through self-abnegation. Universal Love is the divine way in Christian Science.
¿Quién ha encontrado suficiente a la vida finita o al amor finito para responder a las exigencias de la miseria y angustia humanas —para silenciar los deseos, para satisfacer las aspiraciones? La Mente infinita no puede estar limitada en una forma finita, pues, de ser así, la Mente perdería su carácter infinito como Amor inagotable, Vida eterna, Verdad omnipotente.
Who hath found finite life or love sufficient to meet the demands of human want and woe, — to still the desires, to satisfy the aspirations? Infinite Mind cannot be limited to a finite form, or Mind would lose its infinite character as inexhaustible Love, eternal Life, omnipotent Truth.
Dios da la idea menor de Sí mismo como un eslabón para la mayor y, en cambio, la más alta siempre protege a la más baja. Los ricos en espíritu ayudan a los pobres en una gran hermandad, teniendo todos el mismo Principio, o Padre; y bendito es ese hombre que ve la necesidad de su hermano y la satisface, procurando su propio bien beneficiando a otro. El Amor da a la idea espiritual más pequeña poder, inmortalidad y bondad, que brillan a través de todo, como la flor brilla a través del capullo. Todas las variadas expresiones de Dios reflejan salud, santidad e inmortalidad —Vida, Verdad y Amor infinitos.
God gives the lesser idea of Himself for a link to the greater, and in return, the higher always protects the lower. The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good. Love giveth to the least spiritual idea might, immortality, and goodness, which shine through all as the blossom shines through the bud. All the varied expressions of God reflect health, holiness, immortality — infinite Life, Truth, and Love.
Con un mismo Padre, o sea Dios, todos en la familia humana serían hermanos; y con una Mente única, y siendo ésa Dios, o el bien, la hermandad del hombre consistiría de Amor y Verdad y tendría unidad de Principio y poder espiritual, que constituyen la Ciencia divina.
With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science.
Cada prueba de nuestra fe en Dios nos hace más fuertes. Cuanto más difícil parezca la circunstancia material que deba vencer el Espíritu, tanto más fuerte debiera ser nuestra fe y tanto más puro nuestro amor. El Apóstol Juan dice: "En el Amor no hay temor, sino que el perfecto Amor echa fuera el temor.... El que teme, no ha sido perfeccionado en el Amor". He aquí una proclamación concreta e inspirada de Ciencia Cristiana.
Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love. The Apostle John says: "There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casteth out fear. ... He that feareth is not made perfect in Love." Here is a definite and inspired proclamation of Christian Science.
El Amor cumple la ley de la Ciencia Cristiana, y nada que no sea ese Principio divino, comprendido y demostrado, podrá ofrecer jamás la visión del Apocalipsis, abrir los siete sellos del error con la Verdad o descubrir las múltiples ilusiones del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte.
Love fulfils the law of Christian Science, and nothing short of this divine Principle, understood and demonstrated, can ever furnish the vision of the Apocalypse, open the seven seals of error with Truth, or uncover the myriad illusions of sin, sickness, and death.
El Amor es el libertador.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
