“Sálvanos, Jehová Dios nuestro, Y recógenos de entre las naciones, Para que alabemos tu santo nombre, Para que nos gloriemos en tus alabanzas.”
“Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.”
1. Alabad a Jehová, porque él es bueno; Porque para siempre es su misericordia.
2. Díganlo los redimidos de Jehová, Los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo,
3. Y los ha congregado de las tierras, Del oriente y del occidente, Del norte y del sur.
4. Anduvieron perdidos por el desierto, por la soledad sin camino, Sin hallar ciudad en donde vivir.
5. Hambrientos y sedientos, Su alma desfallecía en ellos.
6. Entonces clamaron a Jehová en su angustia, Y los libró de sus aflicciones.
7. Los dirigió por camino derecho, Para que viniesen a ciudad habitable.
8. Alaben la misericordia de Jehová, Y sus maravillas para con los hijos de los hombres.
9. Porque sacia al alma menesterosa, Y llena de bien al alma hambrienta.
1. O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

4. They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5. Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6. Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7. And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

3 Reconoced que Jehová es Dios; Él nos hizo, y no nosotros a nosotros mismos; Pueblo suyo somos, y ovejas de su prado.

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

13 y alzaron la voz, diciendo: ¡Jesús, Maestro, ten misericordia de nosotros!
14 Cuando él los vio, les dijo: Id, mostraos a los sacerdotes. Y aconteció que mientras iban, fueron limpiados.
15 Entonces uno de ellos, viendo que había sido sanado, volvió, glorificando a Dios a gran voz,
16 y se postró rostro en tierra a sus pies, dándole gracias; y este era samaritano.
17 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¿No son diez los que fueron limpiados? Y los nueve, ¿dónde están?
18 ¿No hubo quien volviese y diese gloria a Dios sino este extranjero?
19 Y le dijo: Levántate, vete; tu fe te ha salvado.

13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
1 Pedro y Juan subían juntos al templo…
2 Y era traído un hombre cojo de nacimiento, a quien ponían cada día a la puerta del templo que se llama la Hermosa, para que pidiese limosna de los que entraban en el templo.
3 Este, cuando vio a Pedro y a Juan que iban a entrar en el templo, les rogaba que le diesen limosna.
4 Pedro, con Juan, fijando en él los ojos, le dijo: Míranos.
5 Entonces él les estuvo atento, esperando recibir de ellos algo.
6 Mas Pedro dijo: No tengo plata ni oro, pero lo que tengo te doy; en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, levántate y anda.
7 Y tomándole por la mano derecha le levantó; y al momento se le afirmaron los pies y tobillos;
8 y saltando, se puso en pie y anduvo; y entró con ellos en el templo, andando, y saltando, y alabando a Dios.
9 Y todo el pueblo le vio andar y alabar a Dios.
10 Y le reconocían que era el que se sentaba a pedir limosna a la puerta del templo, la Hermosa; y se llenaron de asombro y espanto por lo que le había sucedido.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
17 De modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura es; las cosas viejas pasaron; he aquí todas son hechas nuevas.
18 Y todo esto proviene de Dios, quien nos reconcilió consigo mismo por Cristo, y nos dio el ministerio de la reconciliación;
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
4 Regocijaos en el Señor siempre. Otra vez digo: ¡Regocijaos!
6 Por nada estéis afanosos, sino sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias.
7 Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.
8 Por lo demás, hermanos, todo lo que es verdadero, todo lo honesto, todo lo justo, todo lo puro, todo lo amable, todo lo que es de buen nombre; si hay virtud alguna, si algo digno de alabanza, en esto pensad.
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
18 La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesucristo sea con todos vosotros. Amén.

DIOS. El gran YO SOY; el que todo lo sabe, que todo lo ve, que es todo acción, todo sabiduría, todo amor, y que es eterno; Principio; Mente; Alma; Espíritu; Vida; Verdad; Amor; toda sustancia; inteligencia.
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.
Teóricamente admitimos que Dios es bueno, omnipotente, omnipresente e infinito, y luego tratamos de informar a esa Mente infinita. Pedimos un perdón inmerecido y una efusión generosa de bendiciones. ¿Estamos realmente agradecidos por el bien ya recibido? Entonces aprovecharemos las bendiciones que tenemos, y eso nos capacitará para recibir más.
Si no sentimos gratitud por la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor, y no obstante damos gracias a Dios por toda bendición, somos insinceros e incurrimos en la censura severa que nuestro Maestro dirige a los hipócritas. En tal caso, la única oración aceptable es poner el dedo sobre los labios y recordar nuestras bendiciones. Mientras el corazón está lejos de la Verdad y el Amor divinos, no podemos ocultar la ingratitud de una vida estéril.
We admit theoretically that God is good, omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite, and then we try to give information to this infinite Mind. We plead for unmerited pardon and for a liberal outpouring of benefactions. Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more.
If we are ungrateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and yet return thanks to God for all blessings, we are insincere and incur the sharp censure our Master pronounces on hypocrites. In such a case, the only acceptable prayer is to put the finger on the lips and remember our blessings. While the heart is far from divine Truth and Love, we cannot conceal the ingratitude of barren lives.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna y los sentidos materiales y la voluntad humana no tienen cabida.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.
Lo que más necesitamos es la oración del deseo ferviente de crecer en gracia, oración que se expresa en paciencia, humildad, amor y buenas obras. Guardar los mandamientos de nuestro Maestro y seguir su ejemplo, es nuestra deuda justa para con él y lo único digno de evidenciar nuestra gratitud por todo lo que ha hecho. El culto externo no es suficiente de por sí para expresar gratitud leal y sincera, ya que él ha dicho: "Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos".
El esfuerzo constante por ser siempre buenos es oración incesante. Sus motivos se manifiestan en las bendiciones que traen —bendiciones que, aun cuando no sean reconocidas con palabras audibles, atestiguan que somos dignos de participar del Amor.
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds. To keep the commandments of our Master and follow his example, is our proper debt to him and the only worthy evidence of our gratitude for all that he has done. Outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
The habitual struggle to be always good is unceasing prayer. Its motives are made manifest in the blessings they bring, — blessings which, even if not acknowledged in audible words, attest our worthiness to be partakers of Love.
La prueba de toda oración consiste en la respuesta a estas preguntas: ¿Amamos más a nuestro prójimo debido a este ruego? ¿Seguimos con el viejo egoísmo, satisfechos con haber orado por algo mejor, aunque no demos pruebas de la sinceridad de nuestras peticiones viviendo en conformidad con nuestra oración? Si el egoísmo se ha sometido a la bondad, seremos generosos con nuestro prójimo, y bendeciremos a los que nos maldicen; pero nunca cumpliremos con ese gran deber simplemente pidiendo que se haga. Hay una cruz que tomar antes de que podamos gozar de los frutos de nuestra fe y esperanza.
The test of all prayer lies in the answer to these questions: Do we love our neighbor better because of this asking? Do we pursue the old selfishness, satisfied with having prayed for something better, though we give no evidence of the sincerity of our requests by living consistently with our prayer? If selfishness has given place to kindness, we shall regard our neighbor unselfishly, and bless them that curse us; but we shall never meet this great duty simply by asking that it may be done. There is a cross to be taken up before we can enjoy the fruition of our hope and faith.
El bien exige del hombre que ocupe cada hora en resolver el problema del ser. La consagración al bien no disminuye la necesidad de que el hombre dependa de Dios, sino que la acrecienta. Ni la consagración disminuye las obligaciones del hombre para con Dios, sino que enseña la necesidad suprema de cumplirlas. La Ciencia Cristiana* no le quita nada a la perfección de Dios, sino que Le atribuye a Él toda la gloria. Despojándose del "viejo hombre con sus hechos", los mortales "se visten de inmortalidad".
Good demands of man every hour, in which to work out the problem of being. Consecration to good does not lessen man's dependence on God, but heightens it. Neither does consecration diminish man's obligations to God, but shows the paramount necessity of meeting them. Christian Science takes naught from the perfection of God, but it ascribes to Him the entire glory. By putting "off the old man with his deeds," mortals "put on immortality."
Los efectos de la Ciencia Cristiana se ven menos de lo que se sienten. Es la "voz callada y suave"*de la Verdad, expresándose. O bien nos estamos alejando de esa expresión, o la estamos escuchando y elevándonos. El estar dispuesto a llegar a ser como un niño y dejar lo viejo por lo nuevo, dispone al pensamiento para recibir la idea avanzada. Alegría de abandonar las falsas señales del camino y regocijo al verlas desaparecer es la disposición que ayuda a acelerar la armonía final. La purificación de los sentidos y del yo es prueba de progreso. "Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón, porque ellos verán a Dios".
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher. Willingness to become as a little child and to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear, — this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony. The purification of sense and self is a proof of progress. "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
Un Científico Cristiano ocupa en esta época el lugar al que se refirió Jesús cuando dijo a sus discípulos: "Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra". "Vosotros sois la luz del mundo; una ciudad asentada sobre un monte no se puede esconder". Velemos, trabajemos y oremos, para que esa sal no se haga insípida y esa luz no esté escondida, sino que irradie y resplandezca hasta alcanzar la gloria del mediodía.
A Christian Scientist occupies the place at this period of which Jesus spoke to his disciples, when he said: "Ye are the salt of the earth." "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Let us watch, work, and pray that this salt lose not its saltness, and that this light be not hid, but radiate and glow into noontide glory.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
