“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
12 Otra vez Jesús les habló, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me sigue, no andará en tinieblas, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.
13 Entonces los fariseos le dijeron: Tú das testimonio acerca de ti mismo; tu testimonio no es verdadero.
14 Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Aunque yo doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y a dónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo, ni a dónde voy.
15 Vosotros juzgáis según la carne; yo no juzgo a nadie.
16 Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy yo solo, sino yo y el que me envió, el Padre.
28 Les dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces conoceréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que según me enseñó el Padre, así hablo.
29 Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada.
36 si el Hijo os libertare, seréis verdaderamente libres.
12. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13. The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14. Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15. Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16. And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
28. Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29. And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
36. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

4 Muéstrame, oh Jehová, tus caminos; Enséñame tus sendas .
5 Encamíname en tu verdad, y enséñame, Porque tú eres el Dios de mi salvación; En ti he esperado todo el día.
8 Bueno y recto es Jehová; Por tanto, él enseñará a los pecadores el camino.
9 Encaminará a los humildes por el juicio, Y enseñará a los mansos su carrera.
10 Todas las sendas de Jehová son misericordia y verdad, Para los que guardan su pacto y sus testimonios.
12 ¿Quién es el hombre que teme a Jehová? Él le enseñará el camino que ha de escoger.
13 Gozará él de bienestar, Y su descendencia heredará la tierra.
4 Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

1 En el segundo año del reinado de Nabucodonosor, tuvo Nabucodonosor sueños, y se perturbó su espíritu, y se le fue el sueño.
2 Hizo llamar el rey a magos, astrólogos, encantadores y caldeos, para que le explicasen sus sueños.
4 Entonces hablaron los caldeos al rey en lengua aramea: Rey, para siempre vive; di el sueño a tus siervos, y te mostraremos la interpretación.
5 Respondió el rey y dijo a los caldeos: El asunto lo olvidé; si no me mostráis el sueño y su interpretación, seréis hechos pedazos, y vuestras casas serán convertidas en muladares.
10 Los caldeos respondieron delante del rey, y dijeron: No hay hombre sobre la tierra que pueda declarar el asunto del rey;
13 Y se publicó el edicto de que los sabios fueran llevados a la muerte; y buscaron a Daniel y a sus compañeros para matarlos.
16 Y Daniel entró y pidió al rey que le diese tiempo, y que él mostraría la interpretación al rey.
17 Luego se fue Daniel a su casa e hizo saber lo que había a Ananías, Misael y Azarías, sus compañeros:
18 para que pidiesen misericordias del Dios del cielo sobre este misterio, a fin de que Daniel y sus compañeros no pereciesen con los otros sabios de Babilonia.
19 Entonces el secreto fue revelado a Daniel en visión de noche, por lo cual bendijo Daniel al Dios del cielo.
20 Y Daniel habló y dijo: Sea bendito el nombre de Dios de siglos en siglos, porque suyos son el poder y la sabiduría:
25 Entonces Arioc llevó prontamente a Daniel ante el rey, y le dijo así: He hallado un varón de los deportados de Judá, el cual dará al rey la interpretación.
26 Respondió el rey y dijo a Daniel, al cual llamaban Beltsasar: ¿Podrás tú hacerme conocer el sueño que vi, y su interpretación?
27 Daniel respondió delante del rey, diciendo: El misterio que el rey demanda, ni sabios, ni astrólogos, ni magos ni adivinos lo pueden revelar al rey.
28 Pero hay un Dios en los cielos, el cual revela los misterios, y él ha hecho saber al rey Nabucodonosor lo que ha de acontecer en los postreros días.
1 ...in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the king his dreams.
4 Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation.
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter:
13 And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain.
16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
18 That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.
26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;
28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.
37 Ahora yo Nabucodonosor alabo, engrandezco y glorifico al Rey del cielo, porque todas sus obras son verdaderas, y sus caminos justos;
37 Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment:
1 Hijo mío, no te olvides de mi ley, Y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos:
2 Porque largura de días y años de vida Y paz te aumentarán.
3 Nunca se aparten de ti la misericordia y la verdad; Átalas a tu cuello, Escríbelas en la tabla de tu corazón:
4 Y hallarás gracia y buena opiniόn Ante los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Porque Jehová es bueno; para siempre es su misericordia, Y su verdad por todas las generaciones.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
14 Mas a la mitad de la fiesta subió Jesús al templo, y enseñaba.
15 Y se maravillaban los judíos, diciendo: ¿Cómo sabe este letras, sin haber estudiado?
16 Jesús les respondió y dijo: Mi doctrina no es mía, sino de aquel que me envió.
17 El que quiera hacer la voluntad de Dios, conocerá si la doctrina es de Dios, o si yo hablo por mi propia cuenta.
18 El que habla por su propia cuenta, su propia gloria busca; pero el que busca la gloria del que le envió, este es verdadero, y no hay en él injusticia.
14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
35 Entonces Jesús les dijo: Aún por un poco está la luz entre vosotros; andad entre tanto que tenéis luz, para que no os sorprendan las tinieblas; porque el que anda en tinieblas, no sabe a dónde va.
46 Yo, la luz, he venido al mundo, para que todo aquel que cree en mí no permanezca en tinieblas.
35 Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

7 By the word of truth,
20 Pero sabemos que el Hijo de Dios ha venido, y nos ha dado entendimiento para conocer al que es verdadero; y estamos en el verdadero, en su Hijo Jesucristo. Este es el verdadero Dios, y la vida eterna.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
La Verdad es la inteligencia de la Mente inmortal.
…la Verdad es la luz que disipa al error.
Truth is the intelligence of immortal Mind.
Truth is the light which dispels error.
El sentido espiritual de la verdad tiene que obtenerse antes que la Verdad pueda comprenderse. Ese sentido se asimila sólo a medida que seamos honestos, abnegados, bondadosos y humildes. Hay que sembrar la semilla en la tierra de un "corazón bueno y recto";
The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek. In the soil of an "honest and good heart" the seed must be sown;
El ser es santidad, armonía e inmortalidad. Ya se ha comprobado que un conocimiento de eso, por pequeño que sea, elevará la norma física y moral de los mortales, aumentará la longevidad y purificará y elevará el carácter. Así el progreso destruirá finalmente todo error y sacará a luz la inmortalidad.
Being is holiness, harmony, immortality. It is already proved that a knowledge of this, even in small degree, will uplift the physical and moral standard of mortals, will increase longevity, will purify and elevate character. Thus progress will finally destroy all error, and bring immortality to light.
…la Ciencia Cristiana no tarda en demostrar que la Verdad triunfa. … Todo el testimonio de los sentidos físicos y todo el conocimiento que se obtiene por medio de los sentidos físicos han de someterse a la Ciencia, a la verdad inmortal de todas las cosas.
Christian Science speedily shows Truth to be triumphant. ... All the evidence of physical sense and all the knowledge obtained from physical sense must yield to Science, to the immortal truth of all things.
El mejor sermón que jamás se haya predicado es la Verdad practicada y demostrada en la destrucción del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte. Sabiendo eso y sabiendo también que un solo afecto sería supremo en nosotros y dirigiría nuestra vida, Jesús dijo: "Ninguno puede servir a dos señores".
No podemos edificar con seguridad sobre cimientos falsos. La Verdad hace una nueva criatura en quien las cosas viejas pasan y "todas son hechas nuevas". Las pasiones, el egoísmo, los falsos apetitos, el odio, el temor, toda sensualidad, se someten a la espiritualidad, y la superabundancia del ser está del lado de Dios, el bien.
No podemos llenar vasijas que ya están llenas. Hay que vaciarlas primero. Desnudemos al error. Entonces, cuando soplen los vientos de Dios, no nos abrigaremos con nuestros harapos.
La manera de extraer el error de la mente mortal es verter en ella la verdad mediante inundaciones de Amor. La perfección cristiana no se logra sobre ninguna otra base.
The best sermon ever preached is Truth practised and demonstrated by the destruction of sin, sickness, and death. Knowing this and knowing too that one affection would be supreme in us and take the lead in our lives, Jesus said, "No man can serve two masters."
We cannot build safely on false foundations. Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and "all things are become new." Passions, selfishness, false appetites, hatred, fear, all sensuality, yield to spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the side of God, good.
We cannot fill vessels already full. They must first be emptied. Let us disrobe error. Then, when the winds of God blow, we shall not hug our tatters close about us.
The way to extract error from mortal mind is to pour in truth through flood-tides of Love. Christian perfection is won on no other basis.
"¿Descubrirás tú los secretos de Dios?" Es más fácil desear la Verdad que deshacerse del error. Los mortales tal vez procuren comprender la Ciencia Cristiana, pero no podrán cosechar de la Ciencia Cristiana las realidades del ser sin luchar por ellas. Esa lucha consiste en el esfuerzo por abandonar el error de toda índole y de no poseer otra consciencia que el bien.
"Canst thou by searching find out God?" It is easier to desire Truth than to rid one's self of error. Mortals may seek the understanding of Christian Science, but they will not be able to glean from Christian Science the facts of being without striving for them. This strife consists in the endeavor to forsake error of every kind and to possess no other consciousness but good.
A fin de comprender más, tenemos que poner en práctica lo que ya sabemos. Tenemos que recordar que la Verdad es demostrable cuando es comprendida y que el bien no se comprende mientras no se demuestre. Si somos "fieles sobre poco", sobre mucho se nos pondrá; pero el talento que no se usa se deteriora y se pierde. Cuando los enfermos o los pecadores despierten para darse cuenta de la necesidad que tienen de lo que carecen, estarán dispuestos a aceptar la Ciencia divina, que gravita hacia el Alma y se aleja del sentido material, aparta el pensamiento del cuerpo y eleva a la mente mortal misma a la contemplación de algo mejor que la enfermedad o el pecado. La verdadera idea de Dios da la comprensión verdadera de la Vida y el Amor, despoja al sepulcro de su victoria, quita todo pecado y el engaño de que hay otras mentes, y destruye a la mortalidad.
In order to apprehend more, we must put into practice what we already know. We must recollect that Truth is demonstrable when understood, and that good is not understood until demonstrated. If "faithful over a few things," we shall be made rulers over many; but the one unused talent decays and is lost. When the sick or the sinning awake to realize their need of what they have not, they will be receptive of divine Science, which gravitates towards Soul and away from material sense, removes thought from the body, and elevates even mortal mind to the contemplation of something better than disease or sin. The true idea of God gives the true understanding of Life and Love, robs the grave of victory, takes away all sin and the delusion that there are other minds, and destroys mortality.

Before human knowledge dipped to its depths into a false sense of things, — into belief in material origins which discard the one Mind and true source of being, — it is possible that the impressions from Truth were as distinct as sound, and that they came as sound to the primitive prophets. If the medium of hearing is wholly spiritual, it is normal and indestructible.
La Ciencia divina deriva su sanción de la Biblia, y el origen divino de la Ciencia se demuestra en la santa influencia de la Verdad al sanar la enfermedad y el pecado. Ese poder sanativo de la Verdad tiene que haber existido mucho antes del período en que Jesús vivió. Es tan antiguo como el "Anciano de días". Divine Science derives its sanction from the Bible, and the divine origin of Science is demonstrated through the holy influence of Truth in healing sickness and sin. This healing power of Truth must have been far anterior to the period in which Jesus lived. It is as ancient as "the Ancient of days." It lives through all Life, and extends throughout all space.
Porque la Verdad es infinita, debe reconocerse que el error es nada. Porque la Verdad es omnipotente en bondad, el error, lo opuesto de la Verdad, no tiene poder. El mal no es sino el contrapeso de la nada. El mal más grande no es más que el opuesto hipotético del bien más elevado. La confianza inspirada por la Ciencia descansa en el hecho de que la Verdad es real y el error es irreal. El error es un cobarde ante la Verdad. La Ciencia divina insiste en que el tiempo probará todo eso. Tanto la verdad como el error se han hecho más comprensibles que nunca a los mortales, y la verdad llegará a ser aún más clara, a medida que el error se destruya a sí mismo.
Because Truth is infinite, error should be known as nothing. Because Truth is omnipotent in goodness, error, Truth's opposite, has no might. Evil is but the counterpoise of nothingness. The greatest wrong is but a supposititious opposite of the highest right. The confidence inspired by Science lies in the fact that Truth is real and error is unreal. Error is a coward before Truth. Divine Science insists that time will prove all this. Both truth and error have come nearer than ever before to the apprehension of mortals, and truth will become still clearer as error is self-destroyed.
La comprensión de que el Ego es Mente y que hay una sola Mente o inteligencia, comienza de inmediato a destruir los errores del sentido mortal y a proporcionar la verdad del sentido inmortal. Esa comprensión armoniza al cuerpo; hace de los nervios, los huesos, el cerebro, etc. siervos en lugar de amos. Si el hombre está gobernado por la ley de la Mente divina, su cuerpo está en sumisión a la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor eternos.
The understanding that the Ego is Mind, and that there is but one Mind or intelligence, begins at once to destroy the errors of mortal sense and to supply the truth of immortal sense. This understanding makes the body harmonious; it makes the nerves, bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters. If man is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in submission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love.
La Verdad, la Vida y el Amor son las únicas exigencias legítimas y eternas que se le hacen al hombre, y son legisladores espirituales, que obligan a obediencia por medio de estatutos divinos.
Truth, Life, and Love are the only legitimate and eternal demands on man, and they are spiritual lawgivers, enforcing obedience through divine statutes.
La Verdad es el remedio de Dios para toda clase de error, y la Verdad destruye sólo lo que no es verdadero. De ahí el hecho que, tanto hoy como ayer, Cristo echa fuera los males y sana a los enfermos.
Truth is God's remedy for error of every kind, and Truth destroys only what is untrue. Hence the fact that, to-day, as yesterday, Christ casts out evils and heals the sick.
La Verdad eterna destruye lo que los mortales parecen haber aprendido del error, y la existencia real del hombre como hijo de Dios sale a la luz. La Verdad demostrada es vida eterna.
The eternal Truth destroys what mortals seem to have learned from error, and man's real existence as a child of God comes to light. Truth demonstrated is eternal life.
Somos Científicos Cristianos sólo a medida que dejemos de confiar en lo que es falso y nos aferremos a lo verdadero. No somos Científicos Cristianos hasta que no hayamos dejado todo por Cristo. Las opiniones humanas no son espirituales. Proceden de oídas, de la corporalidad en lugar del Principio, y de lo mortal en lugar de lo inmortal. El Espíritu no está separado de Dios. El Espíritu es Dios.
Andamos en los pasos de la Verdad y el Amor al seguir el ejemplo de nuestro Maestro en la comprensión de la metafísica divina.
We are Christian Scientists, only as we quit our reliance upon that which is false and grasp the true. We are not Christian Scientists until we leave all for Christ. Human opinions are not spiritual. They come from the hearing of the ear, from corporeality instead of from Principle, and from the mortal instead of from the immortal. Spirit is not separate from God. Spirit is God.
We walk in the footsteps of Truth and Love by following the example of our Master in the understanding of divine metaphysics.
La Verdad eterna está cambiando al universo. A medida que los mortales se despojan de sus pañales mentales, el pensamiento se despliega en expresión. "Sea la luz" es el mandato perpetuo de la Verdad y el Amor, que convierte el caos en orden y la discordancia en la música de las esferas.
Eternal Truth is changing the universe. As mortals drop off their mental swaddling-clothes, thought expands into expression. "Let there be light," is the perpetual demand of Truth and Love, changing chaos into order and discord into the music of the spheres.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
