1. De Jehová es la tierra y su plenitud; El mundo, y los que en él habitan.
2. Porque él la fundó sobre los mares, Y la afirmó sobre los ríos.
3. ¿Quién subirá al monte de Jehová? ¿Y quién estará en su lugar santo?
4. El limpio de manos y puro de corazón; El que no ha elevado su alma a cosas vanas,

1. The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

7 Era Moisés de edad de ciento veinte años cuando murió; sus ojos nunca se oscurecieron, ni perdió su vigor.

4 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.

1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 ...now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
5 ...as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
8 Tú, pues, mandarás a los sacerdotes que llevan el arca del pacto, diciendo: Cuando hayáis entrado hasta el borde del agua del Jordán, pararéis en el Jordán.
9 Y Josué dijo a los hijos de Israel: Acercaos, y escuchad las palabras de Jehová vuestro Dios.
10 Y añadió Josué: En esto conoceréis que el Dios viviente está en medio de vosotros,
13 Y cuando las plantas de los pies de los sacerdotes que llevan el arca de Jehová, Señor de toda la tierra, se asienten en las aguas del Jordán, las aguas del Jordán se dividirán; porque las aguas que vienen de arriba se detendrán en un montón.
14 Y aconteció cuando partió el pueblo de sus tiendas para pasar el Jordán, con los sacerdotes delante del pueblo llevando el arca del pacto;
16 las aguas que venían de arriba se detuvieron como en un montón bien lejos de la ciudad de Adam,
17 Mas los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto de Jehová, estuvieron en seco, firmes en medio del Jordán, hasta que todo el pueblo hubo acabado de pasar el Jordán; y todo Israel pasó en seco.
8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you,
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam,
17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
5 Y les dijo Josué:
21 Cuando mañana preguntaren vuestros hijos a sus padres,
22 declararéis a vuestros hijos, diciendo: Israel pasó en seco por este Jordán.
23 Porque Jehová vuestro Dios secó las aguas del Jordán delante de vosotros, hasta que habíais pasado, a la manera que Jehová vuestro Dios lo había hecho en el Mar Rojo, el cual secó delante de nosotros hasta que pasamos:
24 para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan que la mano de Jehová es poderosa; para que temáis a Jehová vuestro Dios todos los días.
5 And Joshua said unto them,
21 When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come,
22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
23 For the Lord your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.
13 Estando Josué cerca de Jericó, alzó sus ojos y vio un varón que estaba delante de él, el cual tenía una espada desenvainada en su mano. Y Josué, yendo hacia él, le dijo: ¿Eres de los nuestros, o de nuestros enemigos?
14 Él respondió: No; mas como Príncipe del ejército de Jehová he venido ahora. Entonces Josué, postrándose sobre su rostro en tierra, le adoró; y le dijo: ¿Qué dice mi Señor a su siervo?
15 Y el Príncipe del ejército de Jehová respondió a Josué: Quita el calzado de tus pies, porque el lugar donde estás es santo. Y Josué así lo hizo.
13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
1 Reunió Josué a todas las tribus de Israel en Siquem,
2 Y dijo Josué a todo el pueblo: Así dice Jehová, Dios de Israel: Vuestros padres habitaron antiguamente al otro lado del río,
3 Y yo tomé a vuestro padre Abraham del otro lado del río, y lo traje por toda la tierra de Canaán, y aumenté su descendencia, y le di a Isaac.
4 A Isaac le di a Jacob y a Esaú. Y a Esaú le di el monte de Seir, para que lo poseyese; pero Jacob y sus hijos descendieron a Egipto.
5 Y yo envié a Moisés y a Aarón,

13 Y os di la tierra por la cual nada trabajasteis,
14 Ahora, pues, temed a Jehová, y servidle con integridad y en verdad; y quitad de entre vosotros los dioses a los cuales sirvieron vuestros padres al otro lado del río, y en Egipto; y servid a Jehová.
31 Y sirvió Israel a Jehová todo el tiempo de Josué, y todo el tiempo de los ancianos que sobrevivieron a Josué y que sabían todas las obras que Jehová había hecho por Israel.
1 And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem,
2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,
3 And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.
4 And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.
5 I sent Moses also and Aaron,
6 And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.
7 And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt:
11 And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho:
13 And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour,
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
31 And Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord, that he had done for Israel.
3 Pues este es el amor a Dios, que guardemos sus mandamientos; y sus mandamientos no son gravosos.
14 Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en él, que si pedimos alguna cosa conforme a su voluntad, él nos oye.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
24 Y a aquel que es poderoso para guardaros sin caída, y presentaros sin mancha delante de su gloria con gran alegría,
25 al único y sabio Dios, nuestro Salvador, sea gloria y majestad, imperio y potencia, ahora y por todos los siglos. Amén.
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
DIOS. El gran YO SOY; el que todo lo sabe, que todo lo ve, que es todo acción, todo sabiduría, todo amor, y que es eterno; Principio; Mente; Alma; Espíritu; Vida; Verdad; Amor; toda sustancia; inteligencia.
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.
Dios es lo que las Escrituras declaran que es —Vida, Verdad, Amor. El Espíritu es el Principio divino, y el Principio divino es el Amor, y el Amor es la Mente, y la Mente no es buena y mala a la vez, porque Dios es Mente; por lo tanto, no hay, en realidad, sino una sola Mente, porque hay un solo Dios.
God is what the Scriptures declare Him to be, — Life, Truth, Love. Spirit is divine Principle, and divine Principle is Love, and Love is Mind, and Mind is not both good and bad, for God is Mind; therefore there is in reality one Mind only, because there is one God.
Para tener un solo Dios y valerse del poder del Espíritu, debe amarse a Dios supremamente.
To have one God and avail yourself of the power of Spirit, you must love God supremely.
"No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí" (Éxodo 20:3). El Primer Mandamiento es mi texto favorito. Demuestra Ciencia Cristiana. Inculca la triunidad de Dios, el Espíritu, la Mente; significa que el hombre no debe tener otro espíritu o mente sino Dios, el bien eterno, y que todos los hombres han de tener una sola Mente. El Principio divino del Primer Mandamiento es la base de la Ciencia del ser, por la cual el hombre demuestra salud, santidad y vida eterna.
"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus xx. 3.) The First Commandment is my favorite text. It demonstrates Christian Science. It inculcates the tri-unity of God, Spirit, Mind; it signifies that man shall have no other spirit or mind but God, eternal good, and that all men shall have one Mind. The divine Principle of the First Commandment bases the Science of being, by which man demonstrates health, holiness, and life eternal.
En la lengua sajona, como en otras veinte lenguas, el término bien se usa para denominar a Dios. Las Escrituras declaran que todo lo que Dios ha hecho es bueno, semejante a Él —bueno en Principio y en idea. Por lo tanto, el universo espiritual es bueno y refleja a Dios como Él es.
Los pensamientos de Dios son perfectos y eternos, son sustancia y Vida. Los pensamientos materiales y temporales son humanos y entrañan error; y puesto que Dios, el Espíritu, es la causa única, carecen de causa divina. Lo temporal y lo material no son, pues, creaciones del Espíritu. No son sino las contrahechuras de lo espiritual y lo eterno.
In the Saxon and twenty other tongues good is the term for God. The Scriptures declare all that He made to be good, like Himself, — good in Principle and in idea. Therefore the spiritual universe is good, and reflects God as He is.
God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the only cause, they lack a divine cause. The temporal and material are not then creations of Spirit. They are but counterfeits of the spiritual and eternal.
Desde el comienzo hasta el fin, las Escrituras están llenas de relatos del triunfo del Espíritu, la Mente, sobre la materia. Moisés probó el poder de la Mente mediante lo que los hombres llamaron milagros; igual hicieron Josué, Elías y Eliseo.
From beginning to end, the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over matter. Moses proved the power of Mind by what men called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha.
HIJOS DE ISRAEL. Los representantes del Alma, no del sentido corporal; el linaje del Espíritu, que, habiendo luchado con el error, el pecado y los sentidos, está gobernado por la Ciencia divina;
Children of Israel. The representatives of Soul, not corporeal sense; the offspring of Spirit, who, having wrestled with error, sin, and sense, are governed by divine Science;
Así como los hijos de Israel fueron guiados triunfalmente a través del Mar Rojo, el oscuro flujo y reflujo del temor humano —así como fueron conducidos a través del desierto, caminando cansados por el gran yermo de las esperanzas humanas, en espera del goce prometido— así la idea espiritual guiará todos los deseos justos en su jornada de los sentidos al Alma, de un concepto material de la existencia al espiritual, hasta alcanzar la gloria preparada para los que aman a Dios.
As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides of human fear, — as they were led through the wilderness, walking wearily through the great desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised joy, — so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God.
La mente mortal es el arpa de muchas cuerdas, que expresa discordancia o armonía, según sea humana o divina la mano que la pulse.

Mortal mind is the harp of many strings, discoursing either discord or harmony according as the hand, which sweeps over it, is human or divine.
Before human knowledge dipped to its depths into a false sense of things, — into belief in material origins which discard the one Mind and true source of being, — it is possible that the impressions from Truth were as distinct as sound, and that they came as sound to the primitive prophets.

The mission of Jesus confirmed prophecy, and explained the so-called miracles of olden time as natural demonstrations of the divine power, demonstrations which were not understood.
Las leyes de la naturaleza son leyes del Espíritu; pero los mortales generalmente reconocen como ley aquello que oculta al poder del Espíritu. La Mente divina legítimamente le exige al hombre toda su obediencia, afecto y fuerza. No se hace reserva para lealtad menor alguna. La obediencia a la Verdad le da al hombre poder y fuerza. La sumisión al error resulta en pérdida de poder.
La Verdad echa fuera todos los males y métodos materialistas con la verdadera ley espiritual —la ley que da vista al ciego, oído al sordo, voz al mudo, pies al cojo. Si la Ciencia Cristiana no honra la creencia humana, sí honra la comprensión espiritual; y sólo la Mente única tiene derecho a que se le honre.
Laws of nature are laws of Spirit; but mortals commonly recognize as law that which hides the power of Spirit. Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. Submission to error superinduces loss of power.
Truth casts out all evils and materialistic methods with the actual spiritual law, — the law which gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, voice to the dumb, feet to the lame. If Christian Science dishonors human belief, it honors spiritual understanding; and the one Mind only is entitled to honor.
En hebreo, en griego, en latín y en inglés, el vocablo fe y los términos que le corresponden tienen estas dos definiciones: estar lleno de confianza y ser digno de confianza. Con cierta clase de fe confiamos nuestro bienestar a otros. Con otra clase de fe comprendemos al Amor divino y cómo llevar a cabo la obra de nuestra "salvación con temor y temblor". "¡Creo; ayuda mi incredulidad!" expresa la ineficacia de una fe ciega; mientras que el mandato: "¡Cree... y serás salvo!" exige una seguridad en sí mismo digna de confianza, que incluye comprensión espiritual y confía todo a Dios.
In Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English, faith and the words corresponding thereto have these two definitions, trustfulness and trustworthiness. One kind of faith trusts one's welfare to others. Another kind of faith understands divine Love and how to work out one's "own salvation, with fear and trembling." "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!" expresses the helplessness of a blind faith; whereas the injunction, "Believe ... and thou shalt be saved!" demands self-reliant trustworthiness, which includes spiritual understanding and confides all to God.
Del infinito Uno en la Ciencia Cristiana, procede un solo Principio y su idea infinita, y con esa infinitud vienen reglas y leyes espirituales y su demostración, que, como el gran Dador, son las mismas "ayer, y hoy, y por los siglos"; porque así son caracterizados el Principio divino de la curación y la idea del Cristo en la epístola a los Hebreos.
From the infinite One in Christian Science comes one Principle and its infinite idea, and with this infinitude come spiritual rules, laws, and their demonstration, which, like the great Giver, are "the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever;" for thus are the divine Principle of healing and the Christ-idea characterized in the epistle to the Hebrews.
El hombre está subordinado a Dios, el Espíritu, y a nada más. El ser de Dios es infinitud, libertad, armonía y felicidad sin límites. "Donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí hay libertad". Como los sumos sacerdotes de antaño, el hombre tiene libertad "para entrar en el Lugar Santísimo" —el reino de Dios.
Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing else. God's being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Like the archpriests of yore, man is free "to enter into the holiest," — the realm of God.
Cuando lleguemos a tener más fe en la verdad del ser que en el error, más fe en el Espíritu que en la materia, más fe en vivir que en morir, más fe en Dios que en el hombre, entonces ninguna suposición material podrá impedir que sanemos a los enfermos y destruyamos al error.
When we come to have more faith in the truth of being than we have in error, more faith in Spirit than in matter, more faith in living than in dying, more faith in God than in man, then no material suppositions can prevent us from healing the sick and destroying error.
Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.
La Vida es el eterno YO SOY, el Ser que era, y es, y que será, a quien nada puede borrar.
Life is the everlasting I am, the Being who was and is and shall be, whom nothing can erase.
Porque Tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Porque Dios es infinito, todo poder, todo Vida, Verdad, Amor, está por encima de todo, y es Todo.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
