12. Porque así ha dicho Jehová: Incurable es tu quebrantamiento, y dolorosa tu llaga.
13. No hay quien juzgue tu causa para sanarte; no hay para ti medicamentos eficaces.
17. Mas yo haré venir sanidad para ti, y sanaré tus heridas, dice Jehová;
13. Y todos tus hijos serán enseñados por Jehová; y se multiplicará la paz de tus hijos.
14. Con justicia serás adornada; estarás lejos de opresión, porque no temerás, y de temor, porque no se acercará a ti.
17. Ninguna arma forjada contra ti prosperará, y condenarás toda lengua que se levante contra ti en juicio. Esta es la herencia de los siervos de Jehová, y su salvación de mí vendrá, dijo Jehová.
2. Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

13. And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14. In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
17. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

11 Mas os hago saber, hermanos, que el evangelio anunciado por mí, no es según hombre;
12 pues yo ni lo recibí ni lo aprendí de hombre alguno, sino por revelación de Jesucristo.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Vi descender del cielo a otro ángel fuerte, envuelto en una nube, con el arco iris sobre su cabeza; y su rostro era como el sol, y sus pies como columnas de fuego:
2 Tenía en su mano un librito abierto; y puso su pie derecho sobre el mar, y el izquierdo sobre la tierra,
3 y clamó a gran voz, como ruge un león; y cuando hubo clamado, siete truenos emitieron sus voces.
8 La voz que oí del cielo habló otra vez conmigo, y dijo: Ve y toma el librito que está abierto en la mano del ángel que está en pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra.

9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angels hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
1 Había un hombre de los fariseos que se llamaba Nicodemo, un principal entre los judíos:
2 Este vino a Jesús de noche, y le dijo: Rabí, sabemos que has venido de Dios como maestro; porque nadie puede hacer estas señales que tú haces, si no está Dios con él.
3 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de nuevo, no puede ver el reino de Dios.
6 Lo que es nacido de la carne, carne es; y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, espíritu es.
10 ¿Eres tú maestro de Israel, y no sabes esto?
11 De cierto, de cierto te digo, que lo que sabemos hablamos, y lo que hemos visto, testificamos; y no recibís nuestro testimonio.

27 Respondió Juan y dijo: No puede el hombre recibir nada, si no le fuere dado del cielo.
32 Y lo que vio y oyó, esto testifica; y nadie recibe su testimonio.
33 El que recibe su testimonio, este atestigua que Dios es veraz.

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

1 Antes de la fiesta de la pascua, sabiendo Jesús que su hora había llegado para que pasase de este mundo al Padre, como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin.
1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.
5 Le dijo Tomás: Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas; ¿cómo, pues, podemos saber el camino?
6 Jesús le dijo: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí.
10 ¿No crees que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre que mora en mí, él hace las obras.

26 … el Consolador, el Espíritu Santo, a quien el Padre enviará en mi nombre, él os enseñará todas las cosas, y os recordará todo lo que yo os he dicho.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

7 Porque tres son los que dan testimonio en el cielo: el Padre, el Verbo y el Espíritu Santo; y estos tres son uno.
13 Estas cosas os he escrito a vosotros que creéis en el nombre del Hijo de Dios, para que sepáis que tenéis vida eterna, y para que creáis en el nombre del Hijo de Dios.
20 Pero sabemos que el Hijo de Dios ha venido, y nos ha dado entendimiento para conocer al que es verdadero; y estamos en el verdadero, en su Hijo Jesucristo. Este es el verdadero Dios, y la vida eterna.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
13 Por lo cual también nosotros sin cesar damos gracias a Dios, de que cuando recibisteis la palabra de Dios que oísteis de nosotros, la recibisteis no como palabra de hombres, sino según es en verdad, la palabra de Dios, la cual actúa en vosotros los creyentes.
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

4 Jehová el Señor me dio lengua de sabios, para saber hablar palabras al cansado; despertará mañana tras mañana, despertará mi oído para que oiga como los sabios.
7 Porque Jehová el Señor me ayudará, por tanto no me avergoncé; por eso puse mi rostro como un pedernal, y sé que no seré avergonzado.
4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
7 For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
16 Fueron halladas tus palabras, y yo las comí; y tu palabra me fue por gozo y por alegría de mi corazón; porque tu nombre se invocó sobre mí, oh Jehová Dios de los ejércitos.
16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.
En el año 1866 descubrí la Ciencia del Cristo o las leyes divinas de la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor, y nombré mi descubrimiento Christian Science*. Dios bondadosamente me había estado preparando durante muchos años para que recibiera esta revelación final del Principio divino absoluto de la curación mental científica.
In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.
Su origen es espiritual, no material. Es una declaración divina —el Consolador que guía a toda la verdad.
It has a spiritual, and not a material origin. It is a divine utterance, — the Comforter which leadeth into all truth.
El término CHRISTIAN SCIENCE* fue introducido por la autora para designar el sistema científico de la curación divina.
La revelación consta de dos partes:
1. El descubrimiento de esta Ciencia divina de curación por la Mente, mediante el sentido espiritual de las Escrituras y las enseñanzas del Consolador, como fueron prometidas por el Maestro.
2. La prueba, por la demostración actual, de que los llamados milagros de Jesús no pertenecían especialmente a un designio divino ahora terminado, sino que ilustraban un Principio divino en operación continua. La operación de ese Principio indica la eternidad del orden científico y de la continuidad del ser.
The term Christian Science was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine Principle. The operation of this Principle indicates the eternality of the scientific order and continuity of being.
Un Científico Cristiano necesita mi obra CIENCIA Y SALUD como su libro de texto y también la necesitan todos sus alumnos y pacientes. ¿Por qué? Primero: Porque es la voz de la Verdad para esta época y contiene la exposición completa de la Ciencia Cristiana, o sea la Ciencia de la curación por la Mente. Segundo: Porque fue el primer libro conocido que contuvo una exposición cabal de la Ciencia Cristiana. En consecuencia, dio las primeras reglas para demostrar esa Ciencia e inscribió la Verdad revelada no contaminada por hipótesis humanas. Otras obras, que se han apropiado de este libro sin darle el crédito debido, han adulterado la Ciencia. Tercero: Porque este libro ha hecho más por el maestro y el alumno, el sanador y el paciente, de lo que han logrado otros libros.
A Christian Scientist requires my work Science and Health for his textbook, and so do all his students and patients. Why? First: Because it is the voice of Truth to this age, and contains the full statement of Christian Science, or the Science of healing through Mind. Second: Because it was the first book known, containing a thorough statement of Christian Science. Hence it gave the first rules for demonstrating this Science, and registered the revealed Truth uncontaminated by human hypotheses. Other works, which have borrowed from this book without giving it credit, have adulterated the Science. Third: Because this book has done more for teacher and student, for healer and patient, than has been accomplished by other books.
Si bien esta obra contiene la Ciencia completa de la curación por la Mente, jamás creáis que podréis absorber todo el significado de la Ciencia mediante una mera lectura de este libro. El libro tiene que ser estudiado, y la demostración de las reglas de la curación científica os colocará firmemente sobre la base espiritual de la Ciencia Cristiana. Esa prueba os eleva mucho más allá de los fósiles perecientes de teorías ya anticuadas y os capacita para comprender los hechos espirituales del ser, hasta ahora no alcanzados y aparentemente oscuros.
Although this volume contains the complete Science of Mind-healing, never believe that you can absorb the whole meaning of the Science by a simple perusal of this book. The book needs to be studied, and the demonstration of the rules of scientific healing will plant you firmly on the spiritual groundwork of Christian Science. This proof lifts you high above the perishing fossils of theories already antiquated, and enables you to grasp the spiritual facts of being hitherto unattained and seemingly dim.

La Ciencia divina no echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, el Alma en la materia, ni lo infinito en lo finito. Nuestros falsos puntos de vista acerca de la materia desaparecen a medida que comprendemos las realidades del Espíritu. La creencia vieja tiene que ser desechada o se derramará la idea nueva, y la inspiración, que ha de cambiar nuestro punto de vista, se perderá. Ahora, como antaño, la Verdad echa fuera los males y sana a los enfermos.
Divine Science does not put new wine into old bottles, Soul into matter, nor the infinite into the finite. Our false views of matter perish as we grasp the facts of Spirit. The old belief must be cast out or the new idea will be spilled, and the inspiration, which is to change our standpoint, will be lost. Now, as of old, Truth casts out evils and heals the sick.
… para el pensamiento material todo es material, hasta que ese pensamiento sea rectificado por el Espíritu.
La enfermedad no es ni imaginaria ni irreal —es decir, no lo es para el sentido equivocado y atemorizado del paciente. La enfermedad es más que fantasía; es firme convicción. Por lo tanto, hay que tratarla por medio de la comprensión correcta de la verdad del ser. Si hacen mal uso de la curación cristiana los que conocen la Ciencia sólo superficialmente, viene a ser aquella una fastidiosa semilla de discordia. En lugar de efectuar la cura científicamente, inicia un despreciable tiroteo sobre todo lisiado e inválido, abofeteándolos con la fría y superficial afirmación: "Usted no tiene nada".
… to the material thought all is material, till such thought is rectified by Spirit.
Sickness is neither imaginary nor unreal, — that is, to the frightened, false sense of the patient. Sickness is more than fancy; it is solid conviction. It is therefore to be dealt with through right apprehension of the truth of being. If Christian healing is abused by mere smatterers in Science, it becomes a tedious mischief-maker. Instead of scientifically effecting a cure, it starts a petty crossfire over every cripple and invalid, buffeting them with the superficial and cold assertion, "Nothing ails you."
Animado por la maldad o por la ignorancia, un practicista falso perjudicará, y la ignorancia es más dañina que la malignidad deliberada cuando se desconfía de esta última y es contrarrestada en sus comienzos.
Whether animated by malice or ignorance, a false practitioner will work mischief, and ignorance is more harmful than wilful wickedness, when the latter is distrusted and thwarted in its incipiency.
Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre. Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man. Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.
La "voz callada y suave"* del pensamiento científico cruza continentes y océanos, hasta llegar a los extremos más remotos del globo. La voz inaudible de la Verdad es para la mente humana como cuando "ruge un león". Se oye en el desierto y en los lugares tenebrosos del temor. Despierta a los "siete truenos" del mal e incita a sus fuerzas latentes a que den voz a la gama completa de tonos secretos. Entonces el poder de la Verdad es demostrado —manifestándose en la destrucción del error. Entonces una voz procedente de la armonía exclamará: "Vé y toma el librito.... Toma, y cómelo; y te amargará el vientre, pero en tu boca será dulce como la miel". Mortales, obedeced el evangelio celestial. Tomad la Ciencia divina. Leed este libro desde el comienzo hasta el fin. Estudiadlo, meditadlo. Será de veras dulce al saborearlo por vez primera, cuando os sane; pero no murmuréis contra la Verdad si halláis amarga su digestión. Cuando os acerquéis cada vez más a ese Principio divino, cuando comáis el cuerpo divino de ese Principio —participando así de la naturaleza, o elementos primarios, de la Verdad y el Amor— no estéis sorprendidos ni descontentos porque tenéis que participar de la copa de cicuta y comer las hierbas amargas; porque los israelitas de antaño en la cena pascual prefiguraron así ese tránsito peligroso de la esclavitud a El Dorado de la fe
y la esperanza.
The "still, small voice" of scientific thought reaches over continent and ocean to the globe's remotest bound. The inaudible voice of Truth is, to the human mind, "as when a lion roareth." It is heard in the desert and in dark places of fear. It arouses the "seven thunders" of evil, and stirs their latent forces to utter the full diapason of secret tones. Then is the power of Truth demonstrated, — made manifest in the destruction of error. Then will a voice from harmony cry: "Go and take the little book…. Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey." Mortals, obey the heavenly evangel. Take divine Science. Read this book from beginning to end. Study it, ponder it. It will be indeed sweet at its first taste, when it heals you; but murmur not over Truth, if you find its digestion bitter. When you approach nearer and nearer to this divine Principle, when you eat the divine body of this Principle, — thus partaking of the nature, or primal elements, of Truth and Love, — do not be surprised nor discontented because you must share the hemlock cup and eat the bitter herbs; for the Israelites of old at the Paschal meal thus prefigured this perilous passage out of bondage into the El Dorado of faith and hope.
Ni pluma ni lengua humana me enseñaron la Ciencia contenida en este libro, CIENCIA Y SALUD; y ni lengua ni pluma pueden destruirla. Es posible que este libro sea tergiversado por críticas superficiales o por estudiantes descuidados o malignos y que sus ideas sean temporariamente mal usadas y falsificadas; pero la Ciencia y la verdad contenidas en él permanecerán para siempre a fin de ser discernidas y demostradas.
No human pen nor tongue taught me the Science contained in this book, Science and Health; and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it. This book may be distorted by shallow criticism or by careless or malicious students, and its ideas may be temporarily abused and misrepresented; but the Science and truth therein will forever remain to be discerned and demonstrated.
En las palabras de San Juan: "Os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre". Entiendo que ese Consolador es la Ciencia Divina.
In the words of St. John: "He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever." This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
