“Glorificad, pues, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.”
“Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
1. Ahora, pues, ninguna condenación hay para los que están en Cristo Jesús, los que no andan conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu.
2. Porque la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.
3. Porque lo que era imposible para la ley, por cuanto era débil por la carne, Dios, enviando a su Hijo en semejanza de carne de pecado y a causa del pecado, condenó al pecado en la carne:
4. para que la justicia de la ley se cumpliese en nosotros, que no andamos conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu.
5. Porque los que son de la carne piensan en las cosas de la carne; pero los que son del Espíritu, en las cosas del Espíritu.
6. Porque el ocuparse de la carne es muerte, pero el ocuparse del Espíritu es vida y paz.
11. Y si el Espíritu de aquel que levantó de los muertos a Jesús mora en vosotros, el que levantó de los muertos a Cristo Jesús vivificará también vuestros cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que mora en vosotros.
16. El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu, de que somos hijos de Dios:
17. Y si hijos, también herederos; herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo.
1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
11. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.

23 Y recorrió Jesús toda Galilea, enseñando en las sinagogas de ellos, y predicando el evangelio del reino, y sanando toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.
23 Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

19 No os hagáis tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones minan y hurtan:
20 sino haceos tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el orín corrompen, y donde ladrones no minan ni hurtan:
21 Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón.
25 Por tanto os digo: No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir. ¿No es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo más que el vestido?
26 Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni recogen en graneros; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No valéis vosotros mucho más que ellas?

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
5 Entrando Jesús en Capernaum, vino a él un centurión, rogándole,
6 y diciendo: Señor, mi criado está postrado en casa, paralítico, gravemente atormentado.
7 Y Jesús le dijo: Yo iré y le sanaré.
8 Respondió el centurión y dijo: Señor, no soy digno de que entres bajo mi techo; solamente di la palabra, y mi criado sanará.
9 Porque también yo soy hombre bajo autoridad, y tengo bajo mis órdenes soldados; y digo a este: Ve, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y a mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.
10 Al oírlo Jesús, se maravilló, y dijo a los que le seguían: De cierto os digo, que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.
13 Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: Ve, y como creíste, te sea hecho. Y su criado fue sanado en aquella misma hora.
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
21 Desde entonces comenzó Jesús a declarar a sus discípulos que le era necesario ir a Jerusalén y padecer mucho de los ancianos, de los principales sacerdotes y de los escribas; y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercer día.
22 Entonces Pedro, tomándolo aparte, comenzó a reconvenirle, diciendo: Señor, ten compasión de ti; en ninguna manera esto te acontezca.
23 Pero él, volviéndose, dijo a Pedro: ¡Quítate de delante de mí, Satanás!; me eres tropiezo, porque no pones la mira en las cosas de Dios, sino en las de los hombres.
24 Entonces Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, y tome su cruz, y sígame.
25 Porque todo el que quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; y todo el que pierda su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.
26 Porque ¿qué aprovechará al hombre, si ganare todo el mundo, y perdiere su alma? ¿O qué recompensa dará el hombre por su alma?
27 Porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá en la gloria de su Padre con sus ángeles, y entonces pagará a cada uno conforme a sus obras.
21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
1 Porque sabemos que si nuestra morada terrestre, este tabernáculo, se deshiciere, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha de manos, eterna, en los cielos.
2 Y por esto también gemimos, deseando ser revestidos de aquella nuestra habitación celestial:
3 pues así seremos hallados vestidos, y no desnudos.
4 Porque asimismo los que estamos en este tabernáculo gemimos con angustia; porque no quisiéramos ser desnudados, sino revestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.
5 Mas el que nos hizo para esto mismo es Dios, quien nos ha dado las arras del Espíritu.
6 Asi que vivimos confiados siempre, y sabiendo que entre tanto que estamos en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor:
7 (porque por fe andamos, no por vista);
8 pero confiamos, y más quisiéramos estar ausentes del cuerpo, y presentes al Señor.
9 Por tanto procuramos también, o ausentes o presentes, serle agradables.
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
13 Porque vosotros, hermanos, a libertad fuisteis llamados; solamente que no uséis la libertad como ocasión para la carne, sino servíos por amor los unos a los otros.
14 Porque toda la ley en esta sola palabra se cumple: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Dios es infinito, la única Vida, sustancia, Espíritu o Alma, la única inteligencia del universo, incluso el hombre. Ojo no vio a Dios ni a Su imagen y semejanza. Ni Dios ni el hombre perfecto pueden percibirse con los sentidos materiales.
God is infinite, the only Life, substance, Spirit, or Soul, the only intelligence of the universe, including man. Eye hath neither seen God nor His image and likeness. Neither God nor the perfect man can be discerned by the material senses.
La Mente divina es el Alma del hombre y da al hombre señorío sobre todas las cosas. El hombre no fue creado partiendo de una base material, ni ordenado a obedecer leyes materiales que el Espíritu nunca hizo; su esfera está en los estatutos espirituales, en la ley superior de la Mente.
The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things. Man was not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher law of Mind.
El Alma tiene recursos infinitos con que bendecir a la humanidad, y alcanzaríamos la felicidad más fácilmente y la conservaríamos con mayor seguridad si la buscásemos en el Alma. Sólo los goces más elevados pueden satisfacer los anhelos del hombre inmortal. No podemos circunscribir la felicidad dentro de los límites del sentido personal.
Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul. Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man. We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense.
Sabiendo que el Alma y sus atributos se manifestaban eternamente por medio del hombre, el Maestro sanaba a los enfermos, daba vista a los ciegos, oído a los sordos, pies a los cojos, revelando así la acción científica de la Mente divina sobre mentes y cuerpos humanos, y dando una mejor comprensión del Alma y la salvación.
Knowing that Soul and its attributes were forever manifested through man, the Master healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, feet to the lame, thus bringing to light the scientific action of the divine Mind on human minds and bodies and giving a better understanding of Soul and salvation.
Pregunta. — ¿Qué son el cuerpo y el Alma? Respuesta. — La identidad es el reflejo del Espíritu, el reflejo en formas múltiples y variadas del Principio viviente, el Amor. El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma.
Question. — What are body and Soul?
Answer. — Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love. Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul.
Pregunta. — ¿Cuáles son las exigencias de la Ciencia del Alma? Respuesta. — La primera exigencia de esta Ciencia es: "No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí". Ese mí es Espíritu. Por lo tanto, el mandato significa esto: No tendrás ninguna inteligencia, ninguna vida, ninguna sustancia, ninguna verdad, ningún amor, que no sea espiritual. La segunda es semejante: "Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo". Debiera entenderse a fondo que todos los hombres tienen una sola Mente, un solo Dios y Padre, una sola Vida, Verdad y Amor. El género humano se perfeccionará en la medida en que se evidencie ese hecho, cesarán las guerras y se establecerá la verdadera hermandad del hombre. No teniendo otros dioses, no recurriendo a ninguna otra sino a la única Mente perfecta para que le guíe, el hombre es la semejanza de Dios, puro y eterno, y tiene esa Mente que estaba también en Cristo.
Question. — What are the demands of the Science of Soul?
Answer. — The first demand of this Science is, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual. The second is like unto it, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established. Having no other gods, turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, having that Mind which was also in Christ.
Nuestras teorías cometen el mismo error respecto al Alma y el cuerpo que el cometido por Ptolomeo respecto al sistema solar. Insisten en que el alma está en el cuerpo y que la mente, por tanto, está subordinada a la materia. La ciencia astronómica ha destruido la falsa teoría respecto a las relaciones de los cuerpos celestes, y la Ciencia Cristiana destruirá el error mayor en cuanto a nuestros cuerpos terrestres. Entonces aparecerán la idea y el Principio verdaderos del hombre. El desacierto ptolemaico no pudo afectar la armonía del ser como lo hace el error respecto al alma y al cuerpo, el cual invierte el orden de la Ciencia y asigna a la materia el poder y la prerrogativa del Espíritu, de modo que el hombre se convierte en la criatura absolutamente más débil e inarmónica del universo.
Our theories make the same mistake regarding Soul and body that Ptolemy made regarding the solar system. They insist that soul is in body and mind therefore tributary to matter. Astronomical science has destroyed the false theory as to the relations of the celestial bodies, and Christian Science will surely destroy the greater error as to our terrestrial bodies. The true idea and Principle of man will then appear. The Ptolemaic blunder could not affect the harmony of being as does the error relating to soul and body, which reverses the order of Science and assigns to matter the power and prerogative of Spirit, so that man becomes the most absolutely weak and inharmonious creature in the universe.
No podemos negar que la Vida se sostiene a sí misma, y nunca debiéramos negar la eterna armonía del Alma, simplemente porque para los sentidos mortales parece existir discordancia. Nuestra ignorancia respecto a Dios, el Principio divino, es lo que produce la aparente discordancia, y comprenderlo a Él correctamente restaura la armonía. La Verdad finalmente nos obligará a todos a cambiar los placeres y dolores de los sentidos por los goces del Alma.
We cannot deny that Life is self-sustained, and we should never deny the everlasting harmony of Soul, simply because, to the mortal senses, there is seeming discord. It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony. Truth will at length compel us all to exchange the pleasures and pains of sense for the joys of Soul.
La Mente divina, que forma el capullo y la flor, cuidará del cuerpo humano, así como viste al lirio; pero que no intervenga ningún mortal en el gobierno de Dios, interponiendo las leyes de los conceptos errados y humanos.
The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God's government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.
Las llamadas leyes de la materia y de la ciencia médica jamás han hecho sanos, armoniosos e inmortales a los mortales. El hombre es armonioso cuando es gobernado por el Alma. De ahí la importancia de comprender la verdad del ser, que revela las leyes de la existencia espiritual.
The so-called laws of matter and of medical science have never made mortals whole, harmonious, and immortal. Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.
La Ciencia del ser revela que el hombre es perfecto, así como el Padre es perfecto, porque el Alma, o la Mente, del hombre espiritual es Dios, el Principio divino de todo ser, y porque ese hombre real es gobernado por el Alma y no por los sentidos, por la ley del Espíritu y no por las supuestas leyes de la materia.
The Science of being reveals man as perfect, even as the Father is perfect, because the Soul, or Mind, of the spiritual man is God, the divine Principle of all being, and because this real man is governed by Soul instead of sense, by the law of Spirit, not by the so-called laws of matter.
A medida que el pensamiento humano cambie de un estado a otro, de dolor consciente a la consciente ausencia de dolor, del pesar a la alegría, —del temor a la esperanza y de la fe a la comprensión—, la manifestación visible será finalmente el hombre gobernado por el Alma y no por el sentido material. Al reflejar el gobierno de Dios, el hombre se gobierna a sí mismo. Cuando el hombre se subordina al Espíritu divino, no puede ser gobernado por el pecado o la muerte, probando así que nuestras teorías materiales respecto a las leyes de la salud no tienen valor.
As human thought changes from one stage to another of conscious pain and painlessness, sorrow and joy, — from fear to hope and from faith to understanding, — the visible manifestation will at last be man governed by Soul, not by material sense. Reflecting God's government, man is self-governed. When subordinate to the divine Spirit, man cannot be controlled by sin or death, thus proving our material theories about laws of health to be valueless.
Cuando la comprensión cambie nuestros puntos de vista acerca de la vida y la inteligencia de una base material a una base espiritual, lograremos la realidad de la Vida, el dominio del Alma sobre los sentidos, y percibiremos el cristianismo, o la Verdad, en su Principio divino. Eso ha de ser el punto culminante, antes que se llegue al hombre armonioso e inmortal y sean reveladas sus aptitudes. Es sumamente importante —en vista del inmenso trabajo a realizarse antes que pueda venir ese reconocimiento de la Ciencia divina— dirigir nuestros pensamientos hacia el Principio divino, para que la creencia finita pueda estar preparada a renunciar a sus errores.
When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle. This must be the climax before harmonious and immortal man is obtained and his capabilities revealed. It is highly important — in view of the immense work to be accomplished before this recognition of divine Science can come — to turn our thoughts towards divine Principle, that finite belief may be prepared to relinquish its error.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna y los sentidos materiales y la voluntad humana no tienen cabida.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
