10. …hermanos míos, fortaleceos en el Señor, y en el poder de su fuerza.
11. Vestíos de toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis estar firmes contra las asechanzas del diablo.
12. Porque no tenemos lucha contra sangre y carne, sino contra principados, contra potestades, contra los gobernadores de las tinieblas de este siglo, contra huestes espirituales de maldad en las regiones celestes.
13. Por tanto, tomad toda la armadura de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y habiendo acabado todo, estar firmes.
14. Estad, pues, firmes, ceñidos vuestros lomos con la verdad, y vestidos con la coraza de justicia;
15. y calzados los pies con el apresto del evangelio de la paz;
16. Sobre todo, tomad el escudo de la fe, con que podáis apagar todos los dardos de fuego del maligno.
10. My brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

1 En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
2 Y la tierra estaba desordenada y vacía, y las tinieblas estaban sobre la faz del abismo, y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la faz de las aguas.
3 Y dijo Dios: Sea la luz; y fue la luz.
4 Y vio Dios que la luz era buena; y separó Dios la luz de las tinieblas.
5 Y llamó Dios a la luz Día, y a las tinieblas llamó Noche. Y fue la tarde y la mañana un día.
6 Luego dijo Dios: Haya expansión en medio de las aguas, y separe las aguas de las aguas.
7 E hizo Dios la expansión, y separó las aguas que estaban debajo de la expansión, de las aguas que estaban sobre la expansión. Y fue así.

3 No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.
4 No te harás imagen, ni ninguna semejanza de lo que esté arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra:
5 No te inclinarás a ellas, ni las honrarás; porque yo soy Jehová tu Dios, fuerte, celoso, que visito la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta la tercera y cuarta generación de los que me aborrecen;
6 y hago misericordia a millares, a los que me aman y guardan mis mandamientos.
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
1 Levántate, resplandece; porque ha venido tu luz, y la gloria de Jehová ha nacido sobre ti.
2 Porque he aquí que tinieblas cubrirán la tierra, y oscuridad las naciones; mas sobre ti amanecerá Jehová, y sobre ti será vista su gloria.

4 Alza tus ojos alrededor y mira, todos estos se han juntado, vinieron a ti; tus hijos vendrán de lejos, y tus hijas serán llevadas en brazos.
18 Nunca más se oirá en tu tierra violencia, destrucción ni quebrantamiento en tu territorio, sino que a tus muros llamarás Salvación, y a tus puertas Alabanza.
19 El sol nunca más te servirá de luz para el día, ni el resplandor de la luna te alumbrará, sino que Jehová te será por luz perpetua, y el Dios tuyo por tu gloria.
20 No se pondrá jamás tu sol, ni menguará tu luna; porque Jehová te será por luz perpetua, y los días de tu luto serán acabados.
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
1 Entonces Jesús fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto, para ser tentado por el diablo.
2 Y después de haber ayunado cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, tuvo hambre.
3 Y vino a él el tentador, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se conviertan en pan.
4 Él respondió y dijo: Escrito está: No solo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.
8 Otra vez le llevó el diablo a un monte muy alto, y le mostró todos los reinos del mundo y la gloria de ellos;
9 y le dijo: Todo esto te daré, si postrado me adorares.
10 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Vete, Satanás, porque escrito está: Al Señor tu Dios adorarás, y a él sólo servirás.

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
14 Cuando llegaron al gentío, vino a él un hombre que se arrodilló delante de él, diciendo,
15 Señor, ten misericordia de mi hijo, que es lunático, y padece muchísimo; porque muchas veces cae en el fuego, y muchas en el agua.
16 Y lo he traído a tus discípulos, pero no le han podido sanar.
17 Respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación incrédula y perversa! ¿Hasta cuándo he de estar con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os he de soportar? Traédmelo acá.
18 Y reprendió Jesús al demonio, el cual salió del muchacho, y este quedó sano desde aquella hora.
19 Viniendo entonces los discípulos a Jesús, aparte, dijeron: ¿Por qué nosotros no pudimos echarlo fuera?
20 Jesús les dijo: Por vuestra poca fe; porque de cierto os digo, que si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis a este monte: Pásate de aquí allá, y se pasará; y nada os será imposible.
21 Pero este género no sale sino con oración y ayuno.
14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
9 … como está escrito: Cosas que ojo no vio, ni oído oyó, Ni han subido en corazón de hombre, Son las que Dios ha preparado para los que le aman.
10 Pero Dios nos las reveló a nosotros por el Espíritu; porque el Espíritu todo lo escudriña, aun lo profundo de Dios.
11 Porque ¿quién de los hombres sabe las cosas del hombre, sino el espíritu del hombre que está en él? Así tampoco nadie conoció las cosas de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios.
12 Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que proviene de Dios, para que sepamos lo que Dios nos ha concedido.
9 ...as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
La Vida, la Verdad y el Amor son las realidades de la Ciencia divina. Amanecen en la fe y resplandecen de lleno en la comprensión espiritual. Así como una nube oculta al sol, que no le es posible extinguir, así también la creencia falsa temporariamente acalla la voz de la armonía inmutable; pero la creencia falsa no puede destruir a la Ciencia armada de fe, esperanza y realización.
Lo que se denomina sentido material puede informar sólo sobre un concepto mortal y temporario de las cosas, mientras que el sentido espiritual puede testificar sólo de la Verdad. Para los sentidos materiales, lo irreal es lo real, hasta que ese concepto es corregido por la Ciencia Cristiana.
Life, Truth, and Love are the realities of divine Science. They dawn in faith and glow full-orbed in spiritual understanding. As a cloud hides the sun it cannot extinguish, so false belief silences for a while the voice of immutable harmony, but false belief cannot destroy Science armed with faith, hope, and fruition.
What is termed material sense can report only a mortal temporary sense of things, whereas spiritual sense can bear witness only to Truth. To material sense, the unreal is the real until this sense is corrected by Christian Science.
Génesis 1:7. E hizo Dios la expansión, y separó las aguas que estaban debajo de la expansión, de las aguas que estaban sobre la expansión. Y fue así.
El Espíritu imparte la comprensión que eleva a la consciencia y conduce a toda la verdad. El Salmista dice: "Jehová en las alturas es más poderoso que el estruendo de las muchas aguas, más que las recias ondas del mar". El sentido espiritual es el discernimiento del bien espiritual. La comprensión es la línea de demarcación entre lo real y lo irreal. La comprensión espiritual revela a la Mente —Vida, Verdad y Amor— y demuestra al sentido divino, dando prueba espiritual del universo en la Ciencia Cristiana.
Esa comprensión no es intelectual, no es el resultado de logros eruditos; es la realidad de todas las cosas sacada a la luz. Las ideas de Dios reflejan lo inmortal, infalible e infinito. Genesis i. 7. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads into all truth. The Psalmist saith: "The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea." Spiritual sense is the discernment of spiritual good. Understanding is the line of demarcation between the real and unreal. Spiritual understanding unfolds Mind, — Life, Truth, and Love, — and demonstrates the divine sense, giving the spiritual proof of the universe in Christian Science.
This understanding is not intellectual, is not the result of scholarly attainments; it is the reality of all things brought to light. God's ideas reflect the immortal, unerring, and infinite. The mortal, erring, and finite are human beliefs, which apportion to themselves a task impossible for them, that of distinguishing between the false and the true. Objects utterly unlike the original do not reflect that original. Therefore matter, not being the reflection of Spirit, has no real entity. Understanding is a quality of God, a quality which separates Christian Science from supposition and makes Truth final.
EXPANSIÓN (FIRMAMENTO). Comprensión espiritual; la línea científica de demarcación entre la Verdad y el error, entre el Espíritu y la llamada materia.
Firmament. Spiritual understanding; the scientific line of demarcation between Truth and error, between Spirit and so-called matter.
Según la Ciencia Cristiana, los únicos sentidos reales del hombre son espirituales y emanan de la Mente divina. El pensamiento pasa de Dios al hombre, pero ni sensación ni comunicación pasan del cuerpo material a la Mente. La intercomunicación proviene siempre de Dios y va a Su idea, el hombre. La materia no es consciente y no puede tener conocimiento del bien o del mal, del placer o del dolor. La individualidad del hombre no es material.
According to Christian Science, the only real senses of man are spiritual, emanating from divine Mind. Thought passes from God to man, but neither sensation nor report goes from material body to Mind. The intercommunication is always from God to His idea, man. Matter is not sentient and cannot be cognizant of good or of evil, of pleasure or of pain. Man's individuality is not material.
El sentido espiritual es una capacidad consciente y constante de comprender a Dios. Demuestra la superioridad de la fe mostrada mediante obras sobre la fe expresada en palabras.
Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God. It shows the superiority of faith by works over faith in words.
La creencia de que la materia piensa, ve o siente no es más real que la creencia de que la materia goza y sufre. Esa creencia mortal, falsamente denominada hombre, es el error, que dice: "La materia tiene inteligencia y sensación. Los nervios sienten. El cerebro piensa y peca. El estómago puede malhumorar a un hombre. Una herida puede estropear al hombre y la materia matarlo". Ese veredicto de los llamados sentidos materiales hace víctimas a los mortales, enseñados, como están, por la fisiología y la patología, a reverenciar falsos testimonios, o sean los errores que son destruidos por la Verdad mediante el sentido espiritual y la Ciencia.
Las líneas de demarcación entre el hombre inmortal, que representa al Espíritu, y el hombre mortal, que representa al error de que la vida y la inteligencia están en la materia, demuestran que los placeres y dolores de la materia son mitos y que la creencia humana en ellos es el padre de la mitología, en la cual la materia está representada como dividida en dioses inteligentes. La individualidad genuina del hombre se puede reconocer sólo en lo que es bueno y verdadero. El hombre no es creado por sí mismo, ni por los mortales. Dios creó al hombre.
The belief that matter thinks, sees, or feels is not more real than the belief that matter enjoys and suffers. This mortal belief, misnamed man, is error, saying: "Matter has intelligence and sensation. Nerves feel. Brain thinks and sins. The stomach can make a man cross. Injury can cripple and matter can kill man." This verdict of the so-called material senses victimizes mortals, taught, as they are by physiology and pathology, to revere false testimony, even the errors that are destroyed by Truth through spiritual sense and Science.
The lines of demarcation between immortal man, representing Spirit, and mortal man, representing the error that life and intelligence are in matter, show the pleasures and pains of matter to be myths, and human belief in them to be the father of mythology, in which matter is represented as divided into intelligent gods. Man's genuine selfhood is recognizable only in what is good and true. Man is neither self-made nor made by mortals. God created man.
Cuando en cualquier época se enuncia por primera vez la Verdad, ésta, como la luz, "en las tinieblas resplandece, y las tinieblas no la comprendieron"*. Un falso sentido de vida, sustancia y mente, oculta las posibilidades divinas y oscurece a la demostración científica.
When first spoken in any age, Truth, like the light, "shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not." A false sense of life, substance, and mind hides the divine possibilities, and conceals scientific demonstration.
La comprensión de que el Ego es Mente y que hay una sola Mente o inteligencia, comienza de inmediato a destruir los errores del sentido mortal y a proporcionar la verdad del sentido inmortal. Esa comprensión armoniza al cuerpo; hace de los nervios, los huesos, el cerebro, etc. siervos en lugar de amos. Si el hombre está gobernado por la ley de la Mente divina, su cuerpo está en sumisión a la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor eternos. La gran equivocación de los mortales es suponer que el hombre, la imagen y semejanza de Dios, sea a la vez materia y Espíritu, a la vez bueno y malo.
Si la decisión se dejara a los sentidos corporales, el mal parecería ser el amo del bien, y la enfermedad la regla de la existencia, mientras que la salud parecería ser la excepción, la muerte lo inevitable, y la vida una paradoja.
The understanding that the Ego is Mind, and that there is but one Mind or intelligence, begins at once to destroy the errors of mortal sense and to supply the truth of immortal sense. This understanding makes the body harmonious; it makes the nerves, bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters. If man is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in submission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love. The great mistake of mortals is to suppose that man, God's image and likeness, is both matter and Spirit, both good and evil.
If the decision were left to the corporeal senses, evil would appear to be the master of good, and sickness to be the rule of existence, while health would seem the exception, death the inevitable, and life a paradox.
El Espíritu y sus formaciones son las únicas realidades del ser. La materia desaparece bajo el microscopio del Espíritu. El pecado no es apoyado por la Verdad, y la enfermedad y la muerte fueron vencidas por Jesús, quien demostró que eran formas del error. Spirit and its formations are the only realities of being. Matter disappears under the microscope of Spirit. Sin is unsustained by Truth, and sickness and death were overcome by Jesus, who proved them to be forms of error. Spiritual living and blessedness are the only evidences, by which we can recognize true existence and feel the unspeakable peace which comes from an all-absorbing spiritual love.
La llamada existencia material no da prueba alguna de la existencia espiritual ni de la inmortalidad. … la materia no es el vestíbulo del Espíritu.
Jesús razonaba prácticamente sobre ese tema y, basándose en su espiritualidad, dominaba a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Comprendiendo la nada de las cosas materiales, se refería a la carne y al Espíritu como los dos contrarios —como el error y la Verdad, que no contribuyen de ninguna manera a la felicidad y existencia recíprocas. Jesús sabía que "el espíritu es el que da vida; la carne para nada aprovecha".
So-called material existence affords no evidence of spiritual existence and immortality. ... Matter is not the vestibule of Spirit.
Jesus reasoned on this subject practically, and controlled sickness, sin, and death on the basis of his spirituality. Understanding the nothingness of material things, he spoke of flesh and Spirit as the two opposites, — as error and Truth, not contributing in any way to each other's happiness and existence. Jesus knew, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."
El hombre está subordinado a Dios, el Espíritu, y a nada más. El ser de Dios es infinitud, libertad, armonía y felicidad sin límites. …como los sumos sacerdotes de antaño, el hombre tiene libertad "para entrar en el Lugar Santísimo" —el reino de Dios.
Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing else. God's being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss. ... Like the archpriests of yore, man is free "to enter into the holiest," — the realm of God.
Aprendamos de lo real y eterno y preparémonos para el reino del Espíritu, el reino de los cielos —el reino y gobierno de la armonía universal, que no puede perderse ni permanecer oculto para siempre.
Let us learn of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain forever unseen.
Cuando despertemos para percibir la verdad del ser, toda enfermedad, dolor, debilidad, cansancio, pesar, pecado y muerte serán desconocidos, y el sueño mortal cesará para siempre.
When we wake to the truth of being, all disease, pain, weakness, weariness, sorrow, sin, death, will be unknown, and the mortal dream will forever cease.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
