1 Júzgame, oh Jehová, porque yo en mi integridad he andado; He confiado asimismo en Jehová sin titubear.
2 Escudríñame, oh Jehová, y pruébame; Examina mis íntimos pensamientos y mi corazón.
3 Porque tu misericordia está delante de mis ojos, Y ando en tu verdad.
5 Aborrecí la reunión de los malignos, Y con los impíos nunca me senté.
11 Mas yo andaré en mi integridad; Redímeme, y ten misericordia de mí.
12 Mi pie ha estado en rectitud; En las congregaciones bendeciré a Jehová.
1 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
2 Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
3 For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.
5 I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked.
11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.
12 My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the Lord.

17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

2 Porque todos ofendemos muchas veces. Si alguno no ofende en palabra, este es varón perfecto, capaz también de refrenar todo el cuerpo.
10 De una misma boca proceden bendición y maldición. Hermanos míos, esto no debe ser así.
11 ¿Acaso alguna fuente echa por una misma abertura agua dulce y amarga?
12 Hermanos míos, ¿puede acaso la higuera producir aceitunas, o la vid higos? Así también ninguna fuente puede dar agua salada y dulce.
13 ¿Quién es sabio y entendido entre vosotros? Muestre por la buena conducta sus obras en sabia mansedumbre.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
14 Ahora, pues, temed a Jehová, y servidle con integridad y en verdad; y quitad de entre vosotros los dioses a los cuales sirvieron vuestros padres al otro lado del río, y en Egipto; y servid a Jehová.
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
1 Cuando Jesús terminó de dar instrucciones a sus doce discípulos, se fue de allí a enseñar y a predicar en las ciudades de ellos.
15 El que tiene oídos para oír, oiga.
19 Vino el Hijo del Hombre, que come y bebe, y dicen: He aquí un hombre comilón, y bebedor de vino, amigo de publicanos y de pecadores. Pero la sabiduría es justificada por sus hijos.
20 Entonces comenzó a reconvenir a las ciudades en las cuales había hecho muchos de sus milagros, porque no se habían arrepentido, diciendo:
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in their cities.
15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
23 ¡Ay de vosotros, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque diezmáis la menta y el eneldo y el comino, y dejáis lo más importante de la ley: la justicia, la misericordia y la fe. Esto era necesario hacer, sin dejar de hacer aquello.
27 ¡Ay de vosotros, escribas y fariseos, hipócritas! porque sois semejantes a sepulcros blanqueados, que por fuera, a la verdad, se muestran hermosos, mas por dentro están llenos de huesos de muertos y de toda inmundicia.
28 Así también vosotros por fuera, a la verdad, os mostráis justos a los hombres, pero por dentro estáis llenos de hipocresía e iniquidad.
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.
28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
4 Mirad que nadie os engañe.
5 Porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo soy el Cristo; y a muchos engañarán.
6 Y oiréis de guerras y rumores de guerras; mirad que no os turbéis, porque es necesario que todo esto acontezca; pero aún no es el fin.
7 Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino; y habrá pestes, y hambres, y terremotos en diferentes lugares.
10 Muchos tropezarán entonces, y se entregarán unos a otros, y unos a otros se aborrecerán
11 Y muchos falsos profetas se levantarán, y engañarán a muchos;
12 y por haberse multiplicado la maldad, el amor de muchos se enfriará.
13 Mas el que persevere hasta el fin, este será salvo.
4 Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
1 Después de esto vi a otro ángel descender del cielo con gran poder; y la tierra fue alumbrada con su gloria.
2 Y clamó con voz potente, diciendo: Ha caído, ha caído la gran Babilonia,,
4 Y oí otra voz del cielo, que decía: Salid de ella, pueblo mío, para que no seáis partícipes de sus pecados, ni recibáis parte de sus plagas;
5 porque sus pecados han llegado hasta el cielo, y Dios se ha acordado de sus maldades.
21 Y un ángel poderoso tomó una piedra, como una gran piedra de molino, y la arrojó en el mar, diciendo: Con el mismo ímpetu será derribada Babilonia, la gran ciudad, y nunca más será hallada.
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen,
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
1 Vi a un ángel que descendía del cielo, con la llave del abismo, y una gran cadena en la mano.
2 Y prendió al dragón, la serpiente antigua, que es el diablo y Satanás, y lo ató por mil años;
3 y lo arrojó al abismo, y lo encerró, y puso su sello sobre él, para que no engañase más a las naciones, hasta que fuesen cumplidos mil años;
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled:
1 Después de esto oí una gran voz de gran multitud en el cielo, que decía: ¡Aleluya! Salvación y honra y gloria y poder son del Señor Dios nuestro;
4 Y los veinticuatro ancianos y los cuatro seres vivientes se postraron en tierra y adoraron a Dios, que estaba sentado en el trono, y decían: ¡Amén! ¡Aleluya!
5 Y salió del trono una voz que decía: Alabad a nuestro Dios todos sus siervos, y los que le teméis, así pequeños como grandes.
6 Y oí como la voz de una gran multitud, como el estruendo de muchas aguas, y como la voz de grandes truenos, que decía: ¡Aleluya, porque el Señor nuestro Dios Todopoderoso reina!
1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
La Verdad es siempre victoriosa. La enfermedad y el pecado caen por su propio peso. La Verdad es la roca de los siglos, la cabeza del ángulo, "y sobre quien ella cayere, le desmenuzará".
Truth is always the victor. Sickness and sin fall by their own weight. Truth is the rock of ages, the headstone of the corner, "but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder."
Cuando las falsas creencias humanas se enteran, aun en grado mínimo, de que son falsas, empiezan a desaparecer. Un conocimiento del error y sus procedimientos debe preceder a la comprensión de la Verdad que destruye al error, hasta que todo el error mortal y material finalmente desaparezca y se comprenda y reconozca el hecho eterno de que el hombre creado por el Espíritu y del Espíritu es la verdadera semejanza de su Hacedor.
When false human beliefs learn even a little of their own falsity, they begin to disappear. A knowledge of error and of its operations must precede that understanding of Truth which destroys error, until the entire mortal, material error finally disappears, and the eternal verity, man created by and of Spirit, is understood and recognized as the true likeness of his Maker.
…en la Ciencia Cristiana no existen discordias ni contradicciones, porque su lógica es tan armoniosa como el razonamiento de un silogismo correctamente planteado o el de una suma debidamente computada en aritmética. La Verdad es siempre verídica y no puede tolerar error alguno en la premisa o en la conclusión.
…in Christian Science there are no discords nor contradictions, because its logic is as harmonious as the reasoning of an accurately stated syllogism or of a properly computed sum in arithmetic. Truth is ever truthful, and can tolerate no error in premise or conclusion.
Tal como la luz destruye la oscuridad y en lugar de la oscuridad todo es luz, así (en la Ciencia absoluta) el Alma, o Dios, es el único que da la verdad al hombre.
No es la intercomunicación personal, sino la ley divina, lo que comunica la verdad, la salud y la armonía a la tierra y a la humanidad.
As light destroys darkness and in the place of darkness all is light, so (in absolute Science) Soul, or God, is the only truth-giver to man.
Not personal intercommunion but divine law is the communicator of truth, health, and harmony to earth and humanity.
La hipocresía es funesta para la religión.
Una oración verbosa puede que produzca una sensación apacible de justificación propia, aunque haga del pecador un hipócrita. No hay que desesperar jamás de un corazón sincero; pero hay pocas esperanzas para quienes se enfrentan sólo esporádicamente con su maldad y luego tratan de ocultarla. Sus oraciones son índices que no corresponden con su carácter. Participan secretamente en el pecado, y Jesús dijo que tales apariencias eran "semejantes a sepulcros blanqueados... llenos... de toda inmundicia".
Hypocrisy is fatal to religion.
A wordy prayer may afford a quiet sense of self-justification, though it makes the sinner a hypocrite. We never need to despair of an honest heart; but there is little hope for those who come only spasmodically face to face with their wickedness and then seek to hide it. Their prayers are indexes which do not correspond with their character. They hold secret fellowship with sin, and such externals are spoken of by Jesus as "like unto whited sepulchres ... full ... of all uncleanness."
Las acusaciones de los fariseos eran tan contradictorias como su religión. El fanático, el libertino, el hipócrita, llamaron a Jesús comilón y bebedor de vino.
The accusations of the Pharisees were as self-contradictory as their religion. The bigot, the debauchee, the hypocrite, called Jesus a glutton and a wine-bibber.
La reputación de Jesús era exactamente lo opuesto de su carácter. ¿Por qué? Porque el Principio divino y la práctica de Jesús fueron mal entendidos.
El mundo no podía explicarse con acierto el malestar que Jesús infundía, ni las bendiciones espirituales que pudieron haber resultado de ese malestar. La Ciencia muestra la causa de la conmoción tan frecuentemente producida por la verdad, a saber, que esta conmoción proviene de la gran distancia que hay entre el individuo y la Verdad. Como Pedro, debiéramos llorar al sentir la advertencia, en vez de negar la verdad o mofarnos del sacrificio continuo que hace la bondad para la destrucción del mal.
The reputation of Jesus was the very opposite of his character. Why? Because the divine Principle and practice of Jesus were misunderstood.
The world could not interpret aright the discomfort which Jesus inspired and the spiritual blessings which might flow from such discomfort. Science shows the cause of the shock so often produced by the truth, — namely, that this shock arises from the great distance between the individual and Truth. Like Peter, we should weep over the warning, instead of denying the truth or mocking the lifelong sacrifice which goodness makes for the destruction of evil.
Un móvil maligno implica fracaso. En la Ciencia de la curación por la Mente es indispensable de ser honesto, puesto que la victoria está del lado del bien inmutable.
El encubrimiento de la iniquidad impedirá la prosperidad y el triunfo final de cualquier causa. Al no conocer el error que habéis de extirpar, os expone a menudo a ser sus víctimas.
A wrong motive involves defeat. In the Science of Mind-healing, it is imperative to be honest, for victory rests on the side of immutable right.
Covering iniquity will prevent prosperity and the ultimate triumph of any cause. Ignorance of the error to be eradicated oftentimes subjects you to its abuse.
Desenmascarad y denunciad las pretensiones del mal y de la enfermedad en todas sus formas, pero no les concedáis realidad. Un pecador no se reforma por asegurarle meramente que no puede ser pecador porque no existe el pecado. Para suprimir la pretensión del pecado, tenéis que descubrirla, arrancarle la máscara, señalar el engaño y de ese modo obtener la victoria sobre el pecado y probar así su irrealidad. Los enfermos no se sanan meramente declarando que no hay enfermedad, sino sabiendo que no la hay.
Expose and denounce the claims of evil and disease in all their forms, but realize no reality in them. A sinner is not reformed merely by assuring him that he cannot be a sinner because there is no sin. To put down the claim of sin, you must detect it, remove the mask, point out the illusion, and thus get the victory over sin and so prove its unreality. The sick are not healed merely by declaring there is no sickness, but by knowing that there is none.
Se puede saber cuándo la Verdad empieza a ir a la vanguardia por sus pocos seguidores y la fidelidad de éstos. Así es como la marcha del tiempo lleva hacia adelante el estandarte de la libertad. Los poderes de este mundo lucharán, y ordenarán a sus centinelas que no dejen que la verdad trasponga la guardia hasta que se suscriba a sus sistemas; pero la Ciencia, no haciendo caso a las bayonetas caladas, sigue su marcha. Siempre hay algún tumulto, pero también hay quienes cierran filas alrededor del estandarte de la verdad.
You may know when first Truth leads by the fewness and faithfulness of its followers. Thus it is that the march of time bears onward freedom's banner. The powers of this world will fight, and will command their sentinels not to let truth pass the guard until it subscribes to their systems; but Science, heeding not the pointed bayonet, marches on. There is always some tumult, but there is a rallying to truth's standard.
El hombre científicamente cristiano refleja a la ley divina, llegando así a ser una ley para sí mismo. No comete violencia contra nadie. Tampoco es calumniador. El Científico Cristiano dirige su conducta con prudencia y es honesto y consecuente al seguir las indicaciones de la Mente divina. Tiene que probar en su manera de vivir, así como sanando y enseñando, que el camino de Cristo es el único por el cual los mortales se salvan radicalmente del pecado y la enfermedad.
The Christianly scientific man reflects the divine law, thus becoming a law unto himself. He does violence to no man. Neither is he a false accuser. The Christian Scientist wisely shapes his course, and is honest and consistent in following the leadings of divine Mind. He must prove, through living as well as healing and teaching, that Christ's way is the only one by which mortals are radically saved from sin and sickness.
La honradez es poder espiritual. La falta de honradez es debilidad humana, que pierde el derecho a la ayuda divina. Descubrís el pecado, no para perjudicar al hombre corpóreo, sino para bendecirlo; y un móvil bueno tiene su recompensa. El pecado oculto es iniquidad espiritual en lugares elevados. El farsante en esta Ciencia agradece a Dios que no haya mal, y, no obstante, sirve al mal en nombre del bien.
Honesty is spiritual power. Dishonesty is human weakness, which forfeits divine help. You uncover sin, not in order to injure, but in order to bless the corporeal man; and a right motive has its reward. Hidden sin is spiritual wickedness in high places. The masquerader in this Science thanks God that there is no evil, yet serves evil in the name of good.
BABEL. Error que se destruye a sí mismo; un reino dividido contra sí mismo, que no puede permanecer; conocimiento material.
Cuanto más alto edifica el falso conocimiento sobre la base del testimonio obtenido de los cinco sentidos corporales, tanto más confusión sobreviene y tanto más cierta es la caída de su estructura.
Babel. Self-destroying error; a kingdom divided against itself, which cannot stand; material knowledge.
The higher false knowledge builds on the basis of evidence obtained from the five corporeal senses, the more confusion ensues, and the more certain is the downfall of its structure.
Esa falsa pretensión —esa antigua creencia, esa serpiente antigua, cuyo nombre es diablo (el mal), que pretende que hay inteligencia en la materia, ya sea para beneficiar o para dañar a los hombres— es puro engaño, el dragón escarlata; y es lanzada fuera por Cristo, la Verdad, la idea espiritual, y así probada impotente.
That false claim — that ancient belief, that old serpent whose name is devil (evil), claiming that there is intelligence in matter either to benefit or to injure men — is pure delusion, the red dragon; and it is cast out by Christ, Truth, the spiritual idea, and so proved to be powerless.
Mediante tropo y metáfora, el autor del Apocalipsis, escriba inmortal del Espíritu y de un idealismo verdadero, proporciona el espejo en el cual los mortales pueden ver su propia imagen. Con símbolos significativos describe los pensamientos que ve en la mente mortal. Así reprende la arrogancia del pecado y presagia su destrucción final. Through trope and metaphor, the Revelator, immortal scribe of Spirit and of a true idealism, furnishes the mirror in which mortals may see their own image. In significant figures he depicts the thoughts which he beholds in mortal mind. Thus he rebukes the conceit of sin, and fore-shadows its doom. With his spiritual strength, he has opened wide the gates of glory, and illumined the night of paganism with the sublime grandeur of divine Science, outshining sin, sorcery, lust, and hypocrisy. He takes away mitre and sceptre. He enthrones pure and undefiled religion, and lifts on high only those who have washed their robes white in obedience and suffering.
Los siglos pasan, pero esa levadura de la Verdad siempre está operando. Tiene que destruir la masa entera del error y ser así eternamente glorificada en la libertad espiritual del hombre.
Ages pass, but this leaven of Truth is ever at work. It must destroy the entire mass of error, and so be eternally glorified in man's spiritual freedom.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
