1. Porque este Melquisedec, rey de Salem, sacerdote del Dios Altísimo, que salió a recibir a Abraham que volvía de la derrota de los reyes, y le bendijo,
2. A quien asimismo dio Abraham los diezmos de todo; cuyo nombre significa primeramente Rey de justicia, y también Rey de Salem, esto es, Rey de paz;
3. Sin padre, sin madre, sin genealogía; que ni tiene principio de días, ni fin de vida, sino hecho semejante al Hijo de Dios, permanece sacerdote para siempre.
4. Considerad, pues, cuán grande era éste, a quien aun Abraham el patriarca dio diezmos del botín.
15. Y esto es aun más manifiesto, si a semejanza de Melquisedec se levanta un sacerdote distinto,
16. No constituido conforme a la ley del mandamiento acerca de la descendencia, sino según el poder de una vida indestructible.
1. For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2. To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3. Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
4. Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.
15. And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16. Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

28 En el camino de la justicia está la vida; y en sus caminos no hay muerte.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
5 Jehová, hasta los cielos llega tu misericordia, y tu fidelidad alcanza hasta las nubes.
6 Tu justicia es como los montes de Dios, tus juicios, abismo grande. Oh Jehová, al hombre y al animal conservas.
7 ¡Cuán preciosa, oh Dios, es tu misericordia! Por eso los hijos de los hombres se amparan bajo la sombra de tus alas.
8 Serán completamente saciados de la grosura de tu casa, Y tú los abrevarás del torrente de tus delicias.
9 Porque contigo está el manantial de la vida; en tu luz veremos la luz.
10 Extiende tu misericordia a los que te conocen, y tu justicia a los rectos de corazón.
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
16 Aparezca en tus siervos tu obra, y tu gloria sobre sus hijos.
17 Sea la luz de Jehová nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, y la obra de nuestras manos confirma sobre nosotros; Sí, la obra de nuestras manos confirma.
16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.
17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
18 Vivió Jared ciento sesenta y dos años, y engendró a Enoc.
21 Vivió Enoc sesenta y cinco años, y engendró a Matusalén.
22 Y caminó Enoc con Dios, después que engendró a Matusalén, trescientos años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

14 Si alguna iniquidad hubiere en tu mano, y la echares de ti, y no consintieres que more en tu casa la injusticia,
15 Entonces levantarás tu rostro limpio de mancha, y serás fuerte, y nada temerás;
16 Y olvidarás tu miseria, o te acordarás de ella como de aguas que pasaron.
17 La vida te será más clara que el mediodía; aunque oscureciere, será como la mañana.
14 If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
15 For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
17 And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday; thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
11 Porque este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es demasiado difícil para ti, ni está lejos.
12 No está en el cielo, para que digas: ¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo, y nos lo traerá y nos lo hará oír para que lo cumplamos?
13 Ni está al otro lado del mar, para que digas: ¿Quién pasará por nosotros el mar, para que nos lo traiga y nos lo haga oír, a fin de que lo cumplamos?
14 Porque muy cerca de ti está la palabra, en tu boca y en tu corazón, para que la cumplas.
19 A los cielos y a la tierra llamo por testigos hoy contra vosotros, que os he puesto delante la vida y la muerte, la bendición y la maldición; escoge, pues, la vida, para que vivas tú y tu descendencia;
20 Amando a Jehová tu Dios, atendiendo a su voz, y siguiéndole a él; porque él es vida para ti, y prolongación de tus días; a fin de que habites sobre la tierra que juró Jehová a tus padres, Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, que les había de dar.
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
1 Seis días antes de la pascua, vino Jesús a Betania, donde estaba Lázaro, el que había estado muerto, y a quien había resucitado de los muertos.
2 Y le hicieron allí una cena; Marta servía, y Lázaro era uno de los que estaban sentados a la mesa con él.
3 Entonces María tomó una libra de perfume de nardo puro, de mucho precio, y ungió los pies de Jesús, y los enjugó con sus cabellos; y la casa se llenó del olor del perfume.
35 Entonces Jesús les dijo: Aún por un poco está la luz entre vosotros; andad entre tanto que tenéis luz, para que no os sorprendan las tinieblas; porque el que anda en tinieblas, no sabe a dónde va.

1 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

36 Había entonces en Jope una discípula llamada Tabita, que traducido quiere decir, Dorcas. Esta abundaba en buenas obras y en limosnas que hacía..
37 Y aconteció que en aquellos días enfermó y murió. Después de lavada, la pusieron en una sala.
38 Y como Lida estaba cerca de Jope, los discípulos, oyendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos hombres, a rogarle: No tardes en venir a nosotros.
39 Levantándose entonces Pedro, fue con ellos; y cuando llegó, le llevaron a la sala, donde le rodearon todas las viudas, llorando y mostrando las túnicas y los vestidos que Dorcas hacía cuando estaba con ellas.
40 Entonces, sacando a todos, Pedro se puso de rodillas y oró; y volviéndose al cuerpo, dijo: Tabita, levántate. Y ella abrió los ojos, y al ver a Pedro, se incorporó.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
12 El justo florecerá como la palmera; crecerá como cedro en el Líbano.
13 Plantados en la casa de Jehová, en los atrios de nuestro Dios florecerán.
14 Aun en la vejez fructificarán; estarán vigorosos y verdes,
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
Debiéramos recordar que la Vida es Dios y que Dios es omnipotente.
We should remember that Life is God, and that God is omnipotent.
La Vida es eterna. Debiéramos descubrir eso y comenzar a demostrarlo. La Vida y el bien son inmortales. Modelemos, pues, nuestros conceptos de la existencia en belleza, lozanía y continuidad, en lugar de vejez y decrepitud.
Life is eternal. We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof. Life and goodness are immortal. Let us then shape our views of existence into loveliness, freshness, and continuity, rather than into age and blight.
La Vida, igual que el Cristo, es la misma "ayer, y hoy, y por los siglos". La estructura orgánica y el tiempo nada tienen que ver con la Vida.
Life is, like Christ, "the same yesterday, and to-day, and forever." Organization and time have nothing to do with Life.
DÍA. La irradiación de la Vida; luz, la idea espiritual de la Verdad y el Amor.
Los objetos del tiempo y de los sentidos desaparecen en la iluminación de la comprensión espiritual, y la Mente mide el tiempo de acuerdo con el bien que se desarrolla. Ese desarrollo es el día de Dios, y "no habrá allí más noche".
DAY. The irradiance of Life; light, the spiritual idea of Truth and Love.
The objects of time and sense disappear in the illumination of spiritual understanding, and Mind measures time according to the good that is unfolded. This unfolding is God's day, and "there shall be no night there."
Lo infinito nunca comenzó, ni jamás terminará. La Mente y sus formaciones jamás pueden ser aniquiladas. El hombre no es un péndulo, oscilando entre el mal y el bien, el gozo y el pesar, la enfermedad y la salud, la vida y la muerte. La Vida y sus facultades no se miden con calendarios. Lo perfecto y lo inmortal son la semejanza eterna de su Hacedor.
The infinite never began nor will it ever end. Mind and its formations can never be annihilated. Man is not a pendulum, swinging between evil and good, joy and sorrow, sickness and health, life and death. Life and its faculties are not measured by calendars. The perfect and immortal are the eternal likeness of their Maker.
El medir la vida por años solares roba a la juventud y afea a la vejez. El sol radiante de la virtud y la verdad coexiste con el ser. El hombre es su eterno mediodía, jamás oscurecido por un sol declinante. A medida que se desvanece lo físico y material, es decir, el concepto transitorio de belleza, debiera alborear el fulgor del Espíritu sobre el ánimo extasiado, con glorias luminosas e imperecederas.
Jamás registréis edades. Los datos cronológicos no son parte de la vasta eternidad. Los horarios de nacimiento y defunción son otras tantas conspiraciones contra hombres y mujeres. Si no fuera por el error de medir y limitar todo lo que es bueno y bello, el hombre gozaría de más de setenta años y aún mantendría su vigor, su lozanía y su promesa. El hombre, gobernado por la Mente inmortal, es siempre bello y sublime. Cada año que viene desarrolla más sabiduría, belleza y santidad.
The measurement of life by solar years robs youth and gives ugliness to age. The radiant sun of virtue and truth coexists with being. Manhood is its eternal noon, undimmed by a declining sun. As the physical and material, the transient sense of beauty fades, the radiance of Spirit should dawn upon the enraptured sense with bright and imperishable glories.
Never record ages. Chronological data are no part of the vast forever. Time-tables of birth and death are so many conspiracies against manhood and womanhood. Except for the error of measuring and limiting all that is good and beautiful, man would enjoy more than threescore years and ten and still maintain his vigor, freshness, and promise. Man, governed by immortal Mind, is always beautiful and grand. Each succeeding year unfolds wisdom, beauty, and holiness.
La inmortalidad, exenta de vejez o decadencia, tiene su propia gloria —el resplandor del Alma. Los hombres y las mujeres inmortales son modelos del sentido espiritual, trazados por la Mente perfecta, y reflejan aquellos conceptos más elevados de belleza que trascienden todo sentido material.
El donaire y la gracia son independientes de la materia. El ser posee sus cualidades antes que se las perciba humanamente. La belleza es una cosa de la vida, que mora por siempre en la Mente eterna y refleja los encantos de Su bondad en expresión, forma, contorno y color. Es el Amor el que pinta los pétalos con miríadas de matices, brilla en el cálido rayo de sol, traza en la nube el arco de belleza, adorna la noche con joyas estrelladas y cubre la tierra de hermosura.
El embellecimiento de la persona sustituye pobremente los encantos del ser, que brillan resplandecientes y eternos, eclipsando vejez y decadencia.
Immortality, exempt from age or decay, has a glory of its own, — the radiance of Soul. Immortal men and women are models of spiritual sense, drawn by perfect Mind and reflecting those higher conceptions of loveliness which transcend all material sense.
Comeliness and grace are independent of matter. Being possesses its qualities before they are perceived humanly. Beauty is a thing of life, which dwells forever in the eternal Mind and reflects the charms of His goodness in expression, form, outline, and color. It is Love which paints the petal with myriad hues, glances in the warm sunbeam, arches the cloud with the bow of beauty, blazons the night with starry gems, and covers earth with loveliness.
The embellishments of the person are poor substitutes for the charms of being, shining resplendent and eternal over age and decay.
La enfermedad, el pecado y la muerte no son los frutos de la Vida. Son discordias que la Verdad destruye. La perfección no da vida a la imperfección. Puesto que Dios es el bien y la fuente de todo el ser, Él no produce deformidad moral o física; por tanto, tal deformidad no es real, sino ilusión, el espejismo del error. La Ciencia divina revela esas grandes verdades. Sobre la base de ellas Jesús demostró la Vida, sin temer ni obedecer jamás al error en ninguna forma.
Sickness, sin, and death are not the fruits of Life. They are inharmonies which Truth destroys. Perfection does not animate imperfection. Inasmuch as God is good and the fount of all being, He does not produce moral or physical deformity; therefore such deformity is not real, but is illusion, the mirage of error. Divine Science reveals these grand facts. On their basis Jesus demonstrated Life, never fearing nor obeying error in any form.
… la decrepitud no obedece a ninguna ley, ni es tampoco una necesidad de la naturaleza, sino una falsedad.
…decrepitude is not according to law, nor is it a necessity of nature, but an illusion.
Si el engaño dice: "He perdido la memoria", contradecidlo. Ninguna facultad de la Mente se pierde. En la Ciencia, todo el ser es eterno, espiritual, perfecto, armonioso en toda acción. Dejad que el modelo perfecto, en lugar de su opuesto desmoralizado, esté presente en vuestros pensamientos. Esa espiritualización del pensamiento deja entrar a la luz y hace que estéis conscientes de la Mente divina, de la Vida y no de la muerte.
If delusion says, "I have lost my memory," contradict it. No faculty of Mind is lost. In Science, all being is eternal, spiritual, perfect, harmonious in every action. Let the perfect model be present in your thoughts instead of its demoralized opposite. This spiritualization of thought lets in the light, and brings the divine Mind, Life not death, into your consciousness.
La Verdad demostrada es vida eterna. El hombre mortal nunca podrá elevarse de los escombros temporales del error, de la creencia en el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte, hasta que aprenda que Dios es la única Vida.
El hecho de que el Cristo, o la Verdad, venció y todavía vence a la muerte, prueba que el "rey de los espantos" es sólo una creencia mortal, o un error, que la Verdad destruye con la evidencia espiritual de la Vida; y eso demuestra que lo que a los sentidos parece ser muerte no es sino una ilusión mortal, pues para el hombre real y el universo real no existe el proceso muerte.
Truth demonstrated is eternal life. Mortal man can never rise from the temporal débris of error, belief in sin, sickness, and death, until he learns that God is the only Life.
The fact that the Christ, or Truth, overcame and still overcomes death proves the "king of terrors" to be but a mortal belief, or error, which Truth destroys with the spiritual evidences of Life; and this shows that what appears to the senses to be death is but a mortal illusion, for to the real man and the real universe there is no death-process.
Si la percepción de Enoc se hubiera limitado al testimonio de sus sentidos materiales, jamás hubiera podido "caminar con Dios" ni ser guiado a la demostración de la vida eterna.
If Enoch's perception had been confined to the evidence before his material senses, he could never have "walked with God," nor been guided into the demonstration of life eternal.
Al pálido enfermo, que afirmáis que se está agotando de consunción de la sangre, debe decírsele que la sangre nunca dio vida y nunca la puede quitar —que la Vida es Espíritu, y que hay más vida e inmortalidad en un solo móvil bueno y una sola acción buena, que en toda la sangre que jamás haya corrido por venas mortales y simulado un sentido corpóreo de vida.
The pallid invalid, whom you declare to be wasting away with consumption of the blood, should be told that blood never gave life and can never take it away, — that Life is Spirit, and that there is more life and immortality in one good motive and act, than in all the blood, which ever flowed through mortal veins and simulated a corporeal sense of life.
¿Puede haber nacimiento o muerte para el hombre, la imagen y semejanza espiritual de Dios? En lugar de enviar Dios la enfermedad y la muerte, las destruye, y saca a luz la inmortalidad. La Mente omnipotente e infinita lo hizo todo y lo incluye todo. Esa Mente no comete equivocaciones que después corrige. Dios no hace que el hombre peque, enferme o muera.
Can there be any birth or death for man, the spiritual image and likeness of God? Instead of God sending sickness and death, He destroys them, and brings to light immortality. Omnipotent and infinite Mind made all and includes all. This Mind does not make mistakes and subsequently correct them. God does not cause man to sin, to be sick, or to die.
A fin de razonar correctamente, debiera haber un solo hecho ante el pensamiento, a saber: la existencia espiritual.
El ser es santidad, armonía e inmortalidad. Ya se ha comprobado que un conocimiento de eso, por pequeño que sea, elevará la norma física y moral de los mortales, aumentará la longevidad y purificará y elevará el carácter. Así el progreso destruirá finalmente todo error y sacará a luz la inmortalidad.
For right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence.
Being is holiness, harmony, immortality. It is already proved that a knowledge of this, even in small degree, will uplift the physical and moral standard of mortals, will increase longevity, will purify and elevate character. Thus progress will finally destroy all error, and bring immortality to light.
Todos tenemos que aprender que la Vida es Dios. Preguntaos: ¿Estoy viviendo la vida que más se acerca al bien supremo? ¿Estoy demostrando el poder sanador de la Verdad y el Amor? Si es así, entonces el camino se irá iluminando cada vez más, "hasta que el día es perfecto". Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre. Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
We all must learn that Life is God. Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day." Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man. Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
