31. Si Dios es por nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros?
35. ¿Quién nos separará del amor de Cristo? ¿Tribulación, o angustia, o persecución, o hambre, o desnudez, o peligro, o espada?
37. Antes, en todas estas cosas somos más que vencedores por medio de aquel que nos amó.
38. Por lo cual estoy seguro de que ni la muerte, ni la vida, ni ángeles, ni principados, ni potestades, ni lo presente, ni lo por venir,

31. If God be for us, who can be against us?
35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

27 El eterno Dios es tu refugio, y acá abajo los brazos eternos;
27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:
1 Ahora, así dice Jehová, Creador tuyo, oh Jacob, y Formador tuyo, oh Israel: No temas, porque yo te redimí; te puse nombre, mío eres tú.
2 Cuando pases por las aguas, yo estaré contigo; y si por los ríos, no te anegarán. Cuando pases por el fuego, no te quemarás, ni la llama arderá en ti.

32 Y se fueron solos en una barca a un lugar desierto.
33 Pero muchos los vieron ir, y le reconocieron; y muchos fueron allá a pie desde las ciudades, y llegaron antes que ellos, y se juntaron a él.
34 Y salió Jesús y vio una gran multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, porque eran como ovejas que no tenían pastor; y comenzó a enseñarles muchas cosas.
35 Cuando ya era muy avanzada la hora, sus discípulos se acercaron a él, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y la hora ya muy avanzada.
36 Despídelos para que vayan a los campos y aldeas de alrededor, y compren pan, pues no tienen qué comer.
37 Respondiendo él, les dijo: Dadles vosotros de comer. Ellos le dijeron: ¿Que vayamos y compremos pan por doscientos denarios, y les demos de comer?
38 El les dijo: ¿Cuántos panes tenéis? Id y vedlo. Y al saberlo, dijeron: Cinco, y dos peces.
39 Y les mandó que hiciesen recostar a todos por grupos sobre la hierba verde.
40 Y se recostaron por grupos, de ciento en ciento, y de cincuenta en cincuenta.
41 Entonces tomó los cinco panes y los dos peces, y levantando los ojos al cielo, bendijo, y partió los panes, y dio a sus discípulos para que los pusiesen delante; y repartió los dos peces entre todos.
42 Y comieron todos, y se saciaron.
43 Y recogieron de los pedazos doce cestas llenas, y de lo que sobró de los peces.

32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
6 ¿No es más bien el ayuno que yo escogí, desatar las ligaduras de impiedad, soltar las cargas de opresión, y dejar ir libres a los quebrantados, y que rompáis todo yugo?
7 ¿No es que partas tu pan con el hambriento, y a los pobres errantes albergues en casa; que cuando veas al desnudo, lo cubras, y no te escondas de tu hermano?
8 Entonces nacerá tu luz como el alba, y tu salvación se dejará ver pronto; e irá tu justicia delante de ti, y la gloria de Jehová será tu retaguardia.
9 Entonces invocarás, y te oirá Jehová; clamarás, y dirá él: Heme aquí. Si quitares de en medio de ti el yugo, el dedo amenazador, y el hablar vanidad;
10 Y si dieres tu pan al hambriento, y saciares al alma afligida, en las tinieblas nacerá tu luz, y tu oscuridad será como el mediodía.
11 Jehová te pastoreará siempre, y en las sequías saciará tu alma, y dará vigor a tus huesos; y serás como huerto de riego, y como manantial de aguas, cuyas aguas nunca faltan.
12 Y los tuyos edificarán las ruinas antiguas; los cimientos de generación y generación levantarás, y serás llamado reparador de portillos, restaurador de calzadas para habitar.
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rereward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
7 Amados, amémonos unos a otros; porque el amor es de Dios. Todo aquel que ama, es nacido de Dios, y conoce a Dios.
8 El que no ama, no ha conocido a Dios; porque Dios es amor.
9 En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para con nosotros, en que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.
10 En esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que él nos amó a nosotros, y envió a su Hijo en propiciación por nuestros pecados.
11 Amados, si Dios nos ha amado así, debemos también nosotros amarnos unos a otros.
12 Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios. Si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros, y su amor se ha perfeccionado en nosotros.
16 Y nosotros hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para con nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que permanece en amor, permanece en Dios, y Dios en él.
17 En esto se ha perfeccionado el amor en nosotros, para que tengamos confianza en el día del juicio; pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
16 Acerquémonos, pues, confiadamente al trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia y hallar gracia para el oportuno socorro.
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
El poder de la Ciencia Cristiana y del Amor divino es omnipotente. Es de veras adecuado para soltar la presa de la enfermedad, del pecado y de la muerte y destruirlos.
The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent. It is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death.
El amor a Dios y al hombre es el verdadero incentivo en la curación y en la enseñanza. El Amor inspira el camino, lo ilumina, lo designa y va adelante en él. Los móviles rectos dan alas al pensamiento, y fuerza y soltura a la palabra y a la acción. El amor es sacerdote en el altar de la Verdad. Esperad pacientemente a que el Amor divino se mueva sobre la faz de las aguas de la mente mortal y forme el concepto perfecto.
Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action. Love is priestess at the altar of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept.
No existe poder aparte de Dios. La omnipotencia tiene todo el poder, y reconocer cualquier otro poder es deshonrar a Dios. El humilde Nazareno derrocó la suposición de que el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte tienen poder. Demostró que no tenían poder.
There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God. The humble Nazarene overthrew the supposition that sin, sickness, and death have power. He proved them powerless.
Rabino y sacerdote enseñaron la ley mosaica que decía: "Ojo por ojo", y "El que derramare sangre de hombre, por el hombre su sangre será derramada". No fue así como Jesús, el nuevo ejecutor de la voluntad de Dios, presentó la ley divina del Amor, que bendice aun aquellos que la maldicen.
Rabbi and priest taught the Mosaic law, which said: "An eye for an eye," and "Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed." Not so did Jesus, the new executor for God, present the divine law of Love, which blesses even those that curse it.
El primer deber en la lista de los deberes cristianos es el de aplicar el poder curativo de la Verdad y el Amor. No atribuía ninguna importancia a las ceremonias muertas. Es el Cristo viviente, la Verdad práctica, lo que hace que Jesús sea "la resurrección y la vida" para todos los que le siguen con sus propias obras.
First in the list of Christian duties, he taught his followers the healing power of Truth and Love. He attached no importance to dead ceremonies. It is the living Christ, the practical Truth, which makes Jesus "the resurrection and the life" to all who follow him in deed.
El sanador que no tiene compasión por sus semejantes es falto de afecto humano, y tenemos justificación apostólica para preguntar: "El que no ama a su hermano a quien ha visto, ¿cómo puede amar a Dios a quien no ha visto?" Si el sanador no tiene ese afecto espiritual, entonces le falta la fe en la Mente divina y carece de ese reconocimiento del Amor infinito que es lo único que confiere el poder de sanar.
Si quisiéramos abrir las puertas de su prisión a los enfermos, tenemos primero que aprender a vendar a los quebrantados de corazón. Si quisiéramos sanar por el espíritu, no debemos esconder el talento de la curación espiritual bajo el sudario de su forma, ni enterrar el espíritu de la Ciencia Cristiana* en las vendas de su letra. La palabra tierna y el aliento cristiano que se da al enfermo, la compasiva paciencia con sus temores y la eliminación de los mismos, son mejores que hecatombes de teorías verbosas, la repetición de discursos trillados ajenos y la limosna de argumentos, que no son sino otras tantas parodias de Ciencia Cristiana legítima, que arde de Amor divino.
The physician who lacks sympathy for his fellow-being is deficient in human affection, and we have the apostolic warrant for asking: "He that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?" Not having this spiritual affection, the physician lacks faith in the divine Mind and has not that recognition of infinite Love which alone confers the healing power.
If we would open their prison doors for the sick, we must first learn to bind up the broken-hearted. If we would heal by the Spirit, we must not hide the talent of spiritual healing under the napkin of its form, nor bury the morale of Christian Science in the grave-clothes of its letter. The tender word and Christian encouragement of an invalid, pitiful patience with his fears and the removal of them, are better than hecatombs of gushing theories, stereotyped borrowed speeches, and the doling of arguments, which are but so many parodies on legitimate Christian Science, aflame with divine Love.
El bien que hacéis e incorporáis os da el único poder obtenible. El mal no es poder. Es un remedo de la fuerza, el cual muy pronto muestra su debilidad y cae para jamás levantarse.
El único poder verdadero Andamos en los pasos de la Verdad y el Amor al seguir el ejemplo de nuestro Maestro en la comprensión de la metafísica divina. El cristianismo es la base de la curación verdadera. Todo lo que mantenga al pensamiento humano de acuerdo con el amor desinteresado, recibe directamente el poder divino.
The good you do and embody gives you the only power obtainable. Evil is not power. It is a mockery of strength, which erelong betrays its weakness and falls, never to rise.
We walk in the footsteps of Truth and Love by following the example of our Master in the understanding of divine metaphysics. Christianity is the basis of true healing. Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power.
Decid a los enfermos que pueden hacer frente a la enfermedad sin temor, si tan sólo se dan cuenta de que el Amor divino les da todo el poder sobre cualquier acción y condición físicas.
Tell the sick that they can meet disease fearlessly, if they only realize that divine Love gives them all power over every physical action and condition.
¿No es una especie de infidelidad creer que una obra tan grande como la del Mesías fue hecha en beneficio propio o en el de Dios, quien no necesitaba la ayuda del ejemplo de Jesús para preservar la armonía eterna? Pero los mortales sí necesitaban esa ayuda, y Jesús les señaló el camino. El Amor divino siempre ha respondido y siempre responderá a toda necesidad humana. No está bien imaginarse que Jesús demostró el poder divino sanador sólo en beneficio de un número selecto o de un tiempo limitado, puesto que a la humanidad entera y a toda hora el Amor divino suministra todo el bien.
El milagro de la gracia no es milagro para el Amor.
Is it not a species of infidelity to believe that so great a work as the Messiah's was done for himself or for God, who needed no help from Jesus' example to preserve the eternal harmony? But mortals did need this help, and Jesus pointed the way for them. Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. It is not well to imagine that Jesus demonstrated the divine power to heal only for a select number or for a limited period of time, since to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good.
The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love.
El Amor divino que volvió inofensiva a la víbora venenosa, que salvó a los hombres del aceite hirviente, del horno de fuego ardiendo, de las fauces del león, puede sanar al enfermo en toda época y triunfar sobre el pecado y la muerte. Coronó las demostraciones de Jesús con poder y amor insuperables. Pero la misma "Mente... que hubo también en Cristo Jesús"* tiene que acompañar siempre la letra de la Ciencia a fin de confirmar y repetir las demostraciones antiguas de profetas y apóstoles. Que esas maravillas no se repiten con mayor frecuencia hoy, proviene no tanto de la falta de deseo como de la falta de desarrollo espiritual.
The divine Love, which made harmless the poisonous viper, which delivered men from the boiling oil, from the fiery furnace, from the jaws of the lion, can heal the sick in every age and triumph over sin and death. It crowned the demonstrations of Jesus with unsurpassed power and love. But the same "Mind ... which was also in Christ Jesus" must always accompany the letter of Science in order to confirm and repeat the ancient demonstrations of prophets and apostles. That those wonders are not more commonly repeated today, arises not so much from lack of desire as from lack of spiritual growth.
¿Quién está dispuesto a seguir sus enseñanzas y su ejemplo? Todos tienen que plantarse tarde o temprano en Cristo, la idea verdadera de Dios. Lo que inspiró el intenso sacrificio humano de Jesús, fue su deseo de derramar con liberalidad en graneros humanos que estaban vacíos o que estaban llenos de pecado, sus riquezas tan caramente adquiridas. En testimonio de su mandato divino, presentó la prueba de que la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor sanan al enfermo y al pecador y triunfan sobre la muerte por medio de la Mente, no de la materia. Esa fue la prueba más grande del Amor divino que pudo haber ofrecido.
Who is ready to follow his teaching and example? All must sooner or later plant themselves in Christ, the true idea of God. That he might liberally pour his dear-bought treasures into empty or sin-filled human storehouses, was the inspiration of Jesus' intense human sacrifice. In witness of his divine commission, he presented the proof that Life, Truth, and Love heal the sick and the sinning, and triumph over death through Mind, not matter. This was the highest proof he could have offered of divine Love.
Preguntaos: ¿Estoy viviendo la vida que más se acerca al bien supremo? ¿Estoy demostrando el poder sanador de la Verdad y el Amor? Si es así, entonces el camino se irá iluminando cada vez más, "hasta que el día es perfecto". Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre. Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day." Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man. Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.
Mi esperanza cansada trata de ver la realización de ese día feliz en que el hombre reconocerá la Ciencia del Cristo y amará a su prójimo como a sí mismo —en que comprenderá la omnipotencia de Dios y el poder sanador del Amor divino en lo que ha hecho y está haciendo por la humanidad. Las promesas se cumplirán. La hora de la reaparición de la curación divina se presenta en todo tiempo; y quienquiera que ponga su todo terrenal sobre el altar de la Ciencia divina, bebe ahora de la copa del Cristo y es dotado del espíritu y del poder de la curación cristiana.
My weary hope tries to realize that happy day, when man shall recognize the Science of Christ and love his neighbor as himself, — when he shall realize God's omnipotence and the healing power of the divine Love in what it has done and is doing for mankind. The promises will be fulfilled. The time for the reappearing of the divine healing is throughout all time; and whosoever layeth his earthly all on the altar of divine Science, drinketh of Christ's cup now, and is endued with the spirit and power of Christian healing.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
