17. Toda buena dádiva y todo don perfecto desciende de lo alto, del Padre de las luces, en el cual no hay mudanza, ni sombra de variación.
18. El, de su voluntad, nos hizo nacer por la palabra de verdad, para que seamos primicias de sus criaturas.
11. Y él mismo constituyó a unos, apóstoles; a otros, profetas; a otros, evangelistas; a otros, pastores y maestros,
12. A fin de perfeccionar a los santos para la obra del ministerio, para la edificación del cuerpo de Cristo,

17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

15. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

28 En el camino de la justicia está la vida; y en sus caminos no hay muerte.
28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
5 Jehová es la porción de mi herencia y de mi copa; tú sustentas mi suerte.
6 Las cuerdas me cayeron en lugares deleitosos, y es hermosa la heredad que me ha tocado.
11 Me mostrarás la senda de la vida; en tu presencia hay plenitud de gozo; delicias a tu diestra para siempre.
5 The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

1 En aquellos días Ezequías enfermó de muerte. Y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: Jehová dice así: Ordena tu casa, porque morirás, y no vivirás.
2 Entonces volvió Ezequías su rostro a la pared, e hizo oración a Jehová,
3 Y dijo: Oh Jehová, te ruego que te acuerdes ahora que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y que he hecho lo que ha sido agradable delante de tus ojos. Y lloró Ezequías con gran lloro.

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord,
3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.
4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying,
5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.
9 The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and was recovered of his sickness:
16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.
19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
36 Había entonces en Jope una discípula llamada Tabita, que traducido quiere decir, Dorcas. Esta abundaba en buenas obras y en limosnas que hacía.
37 Y aconteció que en aquellos días enfermó y murió. Después de lavada, la pusieron en una sala.
38 Y como Lida estaba cerca de Jope, los discípulos, oyendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos hombres, a rogarle: No tardes en venir a nosotros.
39 Levantándose entonces Pedro, fue con ellos; y cuando llegó, le llevaron a la sala, donde le rodearon todas las viudas, llorando y mostrando las túnicas y los vestidos que Dorcas hacía cuando estaba con ellas.
40 Entonces, sacando a todos, Pedro se puso de rodillas y oró; y volviéndose al cuerpo, dijo: Tabita, levántate. Y ella abrió los ojos, y al ver a Pedro, se incorporó.
41 Y él, dándole la mano, la levantó; entonces, llamando a los santos y a las viudas, la presentó viva.
42 Esto fue notorio en toda Jope, y muchos creyeron en el Señor.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
1 Yo pues, preso en el Señor, os ruego que andéis como es digno de la vocación con que fuisteis llamados,
2 Con toda humildad y mansedumbre, soportándoos con paciencia los unos a los otros en amor,
3 Solícitos en guardar la unidad del Espíritu en el vínculo de la paz;
4 Un cuerpo, y un Espíritu, como fuisteis también llamados en una misma esperanza de vuestra vocación;
5 Un Señor, una fe, un bautismo,

1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

12 … ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor,
13 Porque Dios es el que en vosotros produce así el querer como el hacer, por su buena voluntad.
14 Haced todo sin murmuraciones y contiendas,
15 Para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin mancha en medio de una generación maligna y perversa, en medio de la cual resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo;
16 Asidos de la palabra de vida, para que en el día de Cristo yo pueda gloriarme de que no he corrido en vano, ni en vano he trabajado.
12 …work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
7 Porque no nos ha dado Dios espíritu de cobardía, sino de poder, de amor y de dominio propio.
8 Por tanto, no te avergüences de dar testimonio de nuestro Señor, ni de mí, preso suyo, sino participa de las aflicciones por el evangelio según el poder de Dios,
9 Quien nos salvó y llamó con llamamiento santo, no conforme a nuestras obras, sino según el propósito suyo y la gracia que nos fue dada en Cristo Jesús antes de los tiempos de los siglos,
10 Pero que ahora ha sido manifestada por la aparición de nuestro Salvador Jesucristo, el cual quitó la muerte y sacó a luz la vida y la inmortalidad por el evangelio,
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
14 Bienaventurados los que guardan sus mandamientos, para tener derecho al árbol de la vida, y poder entrar por las puertas en la ciudad.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
28 Y sabemos que a los que aman a Dios, todas las cosas les ayudan a bien, esto es, a los que conforme a su propósito son llamados.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
La Vida es Dios, y el hombre es la idea de Dios,
Life is God, and man is the idea of God,
En la Ciencia el hombre es linaje del Espíritu. Lo bello, lo bueno y lo puro constituyen su ascendencia. Su origen no está, como el de los mortales, en el instinto bruto, ni pasa él por condiciones materiales antes de alcanzar la inteligencia. El Espíritu es la fuente primitiva y última de su ser; Dios es su Padre, y la Vida es la ley de su existencia.
In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being.
La unidad científica que existe entre Dios y el hombre tiene que forjarse llevándola a la práctica en la vida, y la voluntad de Dios tiene que hacerse universalmente.
Los días de nuestra peregrinación se multiplicarán en lugar de disminuir, cuando el reino de Dios venga en la tierra; porque el camino verdadero conduce a la Vida y no a la muerte, y la experiencia terrenal revela la naturaleza finita del error y las capacidades infinitas de la Verdad, por las cuales Dios da al hombre señorío sobre toda la tierra.
The scientific unity which exists between God and man must be wrought out in life-practice, and God's will must be universally done.
The days of our pilgrimage will multiply instead of diminish, when God's kingdom comes on earth; for the true way leads to Life instead of to death, and earthly experience discloses the finity of error and the infinite capacities of Truth, in which God gives man dominion over all the earth.
La sustancia, la Vida, la inteligencia, la Verdad y el Amor que constituyen la Deidad son reflejados por Su creación; y cuando subordinemos el falso testimonio de los sentidos corporales a las realidades de la Ciencia, veremos esa semejanza y reflejo verdaderos en todas partes.
Dios modela todas las cosas conforme a Su semejanza. La Vida se refleja en existencia, la Verdad en veracidad, Dios en bondad, las cuales imparten la paz y permanencia que les son propias.
The substance, Life, intelligence, Truth, and Love, which constitute Deity, are reflected by His creation; and when we subordinate the false testimony of the corporeal senses to the facts of Science, we shall see this true likeness and reflection everywhere.
God fashions all things, after His own likeness. Life is reflected in existence, Truth in truthfulness, God in goodness, which impart their own peace and permanence.
La Vida es imperecedera. La Vida es el origen y la finalidad del hombre, y jamás se alcanza por medio de la muerte, sino que se logra caminando por el sendero de la Verdad, tanto antes como después de lo que se llama muerte. Hay más cristianismo en ver y oír espiritualmente que materialmente. Hay más Ciencia en el ejercicio perpetuo de las facultades de la Mente que en su pérdida. Éstas no pueden perderse mientras la Mente perdure. La comprensión de eso dio vista a los ciegos y oído a los sordos hace siglos, y repetirá la maravilla.
Life is deathless. Life is the origin and ultimate of man, never attainable through death, but gained by walking in the pathway of Truth both before and after that which is called death. There is more Christianity in seeing and hearing spiritually than materially. There is more Science in the perpetual exercise of the Mind-faculties than in their loss. Lost they cannot be, while Mind remains. The apprehension of this gave sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf centuries ago, and it will repeat the wonder.
Al pálido enfermo, que afirmáis que se está agotando de consunción de la sangre, debe decírsele que la sangre nunca dio vida y nunca la puede quitar —que la Vida es Espíritu, y que hay más vida e inmortalidad en un solo móvil bueno y una sola acción buena, que en toda la sangre que jamás haya corrido por venas mortales y simulado un sentido corpóreo de vida.
The pallid invalid, whom you declare to be wasting away with consumption of the blood, should be told that blood never gave life and can never take it away, — that Life is Spirit, and that there is more life and immortality in one good motive and act, than in all the blood, which ever flowed through mortal veins and simulated a corporeal sense of life.
Errores de pensamiento se reflejan en errores de acción. El considerar continuamente a la existencia como material y corporal —como teniendo comienzo y fin y cuyas fases constituyentes son el nacimiento, la decadencia y la disolución— oculta la Vida verdadera y espiritual y hace que nuestro estandarte se arrastre en el polvo. Si la Vida tiene algún punto de partida, sea cual fuere, entonces el gran YO SOY es un mito. Si la Vida es Dios, como dan a entender las Escrituras, entonces la Vida no es embrionaria sino infinita. Un óvulo es un recinto imposible para la Deidad.
Error of thought is reflected in error of action. The continual contemplation of existence as material and corporeal — as beginning and ending, and with birth, decay, and dissolution as its component stages — hides the true and spiritual Life, and causes our standard to trail in the dust. If Life has any starting-point whatsoever, then the great I am is a myth. If Life is God, as the Scriptures imply, then Life is not embryonic, it is infinite. An egg is an impossible enclosure for Deity.
La Ciencia revela la posibilidad de lograr todo lo bueno, e impone a los mortales la tarea de descubrir lo que Dios ya ha hecho; pero la desconfianza en nuestra habilidad de obtener el bien deseado y producir resultados mejores y más elevados, a menudo estorba la prueba de nuestras alas y asegura el fracaso desde el comienzo.
Los mortales tienen que cambiar sus ideales a fin de mejorar sus modelos. Un cuerpo enfermo resulta de pensamientos enfermos. La enfermedad, el malestar y la muerte proceden del temor. El sensualismo engendra malas condiciones físicas y morale.
El egoísmo y el sensualismo son cultivados en la mente mortal por los pensamientos que se fijan de continuo en uno mismo, por conversaciones acerca del cuerpo y por esperar de él perpetuo placer o dolor; y esa educación es a expensas del desarrollo espiritual. Si ataviamos al pensamiento con vestiduras mortales, tiene que perder su naturaleza inmortal.
Si buscamos placer en el cuerpo, encontramos dolor; si buscamos Vida, encontramos muerte; si buscamos Verdad, encontramos error; si buscamos Espíritu, encontramos su opuesto, la materia. Ahora bien, hágase lo contrario. Volved vuestra atención del cuerpo hacia la Verdad y el Amor, el Principio en que se basa toda felicidad, armonía e inmortalidad. Mantened vuestro pensamiento firmemente en lo perdurable, lo bueno y lo verdadero, y los experimentaréis en la medida en que ocupen vuestros pensamientos.
Science reveals the possibility of achieving all good, and sets mortals at work to discover what God has already done; but distrust of one's ability to gain the goodness desired and to bring out better and higher results, often hampers the trial of one's wings and ensures failure at the outset.
Mortals must change their ideals in order to improve their models. A sick body is evolved from sick thoughts. Sickness, disease, and death proceed from fear. Sensualism evolves bad physical and moral conditions.
Selfishness and sensualism are educated in mortal mind by the thoughts ever recurring to one's self, by conversation about the body, and by the expectation of perpetual pleasure or pain from it; and this education is at the expense of spiritual growth. If we array thought in mortal vestures, it must lose its immortal nature.
If we look to the body for pleasure, we find pain; for Life, we find death; for Truth, we find error; for Spirit, we find its opposite, matter. Now reverse this action. Look away from the body into Truth and Love, the Principle of all happiness, harmony, and immortality. Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.
La Verdad demostrada es vida eterna. El hombre mortal nunca podrá elevarse de los escombros temporales del error, de la creencia en el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte, hasta que aprenda que Dios es la única Vida. La creencia de que la vida y la sensación están en el cuerpo debe ser vencida comprendiendo lo que constituye al hombre como imagen de Dios.
Truth demonstrated is eternal life. Mortal man can never rise from the temporal débris of error, belief in sin, sickness, and death, until he learns that God is the only Life. The belief that life and sensation are in the body should be overcome by the understanding of what constitutes man as the image of God.
A menos que la armonía y la inmortalidad del hombre se evidencien más, no estamos ganando la verdadera idea de Dios; y el cuerpo reflejará lo que lo gobierna, ya sea la Verdad o el error, la comprensión o la creencia, el Espíritu o la materia. Por lo tanto "vuelve ahora en amistad con Él, y tendrás paz". Sé alerta, sobrio y vigilante. El camino que lleva a la comprensión de que Dios es la única Vida, es recto y angosto. Es una lucha con la carne, lucha en la que tenemos que vencer al pecado, a la enfermedad y a la muerte, ya sea aquí o en el más allá —pero ciertamente antes que podamos alcanzar la meta del Espíritu, o la vida en Dios.
Unless the harmony and immortality of man are becoming more apparent, we are not gaining the true idea of God; and the body will reflect what governs it, whether it be Truth or error, understanding or belief, Spirit or matter. Therefore "acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace." Be watchful, sober, and vigilant. The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life. It is a warfare with the flesh, in which we must conquer sin, sickness, and death, either here or hereafter, — certainly before we can reach the goal of Spirit, or life in God.
Aceptemos la Ciencia, renunciemos a todas las teorías basadas en el testimonio de los sentidos, abandonemos los modelos imperfectos e ideales ilusorios; y tengamos así un solo Dios, una sola Mente, y ese uno perfecto, produciendo Sus propios modelos de excelencia.
Que aparezcan el "varón y hembra" de la creación de Dios. Sintamos la energía divina del Espíritu, que nos lleva en vida nueva y no reconoce ningún poder mortal o material capaz de destruir cosa alguna. Regocijémonos de que estamos sometidos a las divinas "autoridades... que hay". Tal es la Ciencia verdadera del ser. Cualquiera otra teoría de la Vida, o Dios, es engañosa y mitológica.
Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence.
Let the "male and female" of God's creating appear. Let us feel the divine energy of Spirit, bringing us into newness of life and recognizing no mortal nor material power as able to destroy. Let us rejoice that we are subject to the divine "powers that be." Such is the true Science of being. Any other theory of Life, or God, is delusive and mythological.
Todos tenemos que aprender que la Vida es Dios. Preguntaos: ¿Estoy viviendo la vida que más se acerca al bien supremo? ¿Estoy demostrando el poder sanador de la Verdad y el Amor? Si es así, entonces el camino se irá iluminando cada vez más, "hasta que el día es perfecto". Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre. Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
We all must learn that Life is God. Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day." Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man. Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
