“Una vez habló Dios; dos veces he oído esto: Que de Dios es el poder,”

1. Cuando hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo a sus discípulos:
2. Sabéis que dentro de dos días se celebra la pascua, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado para ser crucificado.
3. Entonces los principales sacerdotes, los escribas, y los ancianos del pueblo se reunieron en el patio del sumo sacerdote llamado Caifás,
4. Y tuvieron consejo para prender con engaño a Jesús, y matarle.
1. Así que, entonces tomó Pilato a Jesús, y le azotó.
9. Y entró otra vez en el pretorio, y dijo a Jesús: ¿De dónde eres tú? Mas Jesús no le dio respuesta.
10. Entonces le dijo Pilato: ¿A mí no me hablas? ¿No sabes que tengo autoridad para crucificarte, y que tengo autoridad para soltarte?
11. Respondió Jesús: Ninguna autoridad tendrías contra mí, si no te fuese dada de arriba;
6. Y oí como la voz de una gran multitud, como el estruendo de muchas aguas, y como la voz de grandes truenos, que decía: ¡Aleluya, porque el Señor nuestro Dios Todopoderoso reina!
1. And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2. Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3. Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4. And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

10. Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11. Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above:
6. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

11 Tuya es, oh Jehová, la magnificencia y el poder, la gloria, la victoria y el honor; porque todas las cosas que están en los cielos y en la tierra son tuyas. Tuyo, oh Jehová, es el reino, y tú eres excelso sobre todos.
12 Las riquezas y la gloria proceden de ti, y tú dominas sobre todo; en tu mano está la fuerza y el poder, y en tu mano el hacer grande y el dar poder a todos.
13 Ahora pues, Dios nuestro, nosotros alabamos y loamos tu glorioso nombre.
11 Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
7 Porque ¿qué nación grande hay que tenga a Dios tan cerca a sí, como lo está Jehová nuestro Dios en todo cuanto le pedimos?
9 Por tanto, guárdate, y guarda tu alma con diligencia, para que no te olvides de las cosas que tus ojos han visto, ni se aparten de tu corazón todos los días de tu vida; antes bien, las enseñarás a tus hijos, y a los hijos de tus hijos.
39 Aprende pues, hoy, y reflexiona en tu corazón que Jehová es Dios arriba en el cielo y abajo en la tierra, y no hay otro.
40 Y guarda sus estatutos y sus mandamientos, los cuales yo te mando hoy, para que te vaya bien a ti y a tus hijos después de ti, y prolongues tus días sobre la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da para siempre.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons;
39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, for ever.

10 No te sobrevendrá mal, ni plaga tocará tu morada.
11 Pues a sus ángeles mandará acerca de ti, que te guarden en todos tus caminos.
12 En las manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.
13 Sobre el león y el áspid pisarás; hollarás al cachorro del león y al dragón.
14 Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su amor, yo también lo libraré; le pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi nombre.
15 Me invocará, y yo le responderé; con él estaré yo en la angustia; lo libraré y le glorificaré.
16 Lo saciaré de larga vida, y le mostraré mi salvación.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
14 Y Jesús volvió en el poder del Espíritu a Galilea, y se difundió su fama por toda la tierra de alrededor.
15 Y enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos, y era glorificado por todos.
32 Y se admiraban de su doctrina, porque su palabra era con autoridad.
33 Estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó a gran voz,
34 Diciendo: Déjanos; ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús nazareno? ¿Has venido para destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.
35 Y Jesús le reprendió, diciendo: Cállate, y sal de él. Entonces el demonio, derribándole en medio de ellos, salió de él, y no le hizo daño alguno.
36 Y estaban todos maravillados, y hablaban unos a otros, diciendo: ¿Qué palabra es esta, que con autoridad y poder manda a los espíritus inmundos, y salen?
37 Y su fama se difundía por todos los lugares de los contornos.
38 Entonces Jesús se levantó y salió de la sinagoga, y entró en casa de Simón. La suegra de Simón tenía una gran fiebre; y le rogaron por ella.
39 E inclinándose hacia ella, reprendió a la fiebre; y la fiebre la dejó, y levantándose ella al instante, les servía.
40 Al ponerse el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades los traían a él; y él, poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
1 Después de estas cosas, designó el Señor también a otros setenta, a quienes envió de dos en dos delante de él a toda ciudad y lugar adonde él había de ir.
2 Y les decía: La mies a la verdad es mucha, mas los obreros pocos; por tanto, rogad al Señor de la mies que envíe obreros a su mies.
3 Id; he aquí yo os envío como corderos en medio de lobos.
17 Volvieron los setenta con gozo, diciendo: Señor, aun los demonios se nos sujetan en tu nombre.
18 Y les dijo: Yo veía a Satanás caer del cielo como un rayo.
19 He aquí os doy potestad de hollar serpientes y escorpiones, y sobre toda fuerza del enemigo, y nada os dañará.
1 After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

2 Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él;
28 Les dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces conoceréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que según me enseñó el Padre, así hablo.
29 Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada.
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him;
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
1 Aconteció que estaba Jesús orando en un lugar, y cuando terminó, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: Señor, enséñanos a orar, como también Juan enseñó a sus discípulos.
2 Y les dijo: Cuando oréis, decid: Padre nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre. Venga tu reino. Hágase tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.
3 El pan nuestro de cada día, dánoslo hoy.
4 Y perdónanos nuestros pecados, porque también nosotros perdonamos a todos los que nos deben. Y no nos metas en tentación, mas líbranos del mal.
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
13 Porque tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Amén.

DIOS. El gran YO SOY; el que todo lo sabe, que todo lo ve, que es todo acción, todo sabiduría, todo amor, y que es eterno; Principio; Mente; Alma; Espíritu; Vida; Verdad; Amor; toda sustancia; inteligencia.
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.
El Principio-Dios es omnipresente y omnipotente. Dios está en todas partes, y nada fuera de Él está presente ni tiene poder. El Cristo es la Verdad ideal, que viene a sanar a la enfermedad y al pecado por medio de la Ciencia Cristiana y que atribuye todo el poder a Dios.
The God-principle is omnipresent and omnipotent. God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power. Christ is the ideal Truth, that comes to heal sickness and sin through Christian Science, and attributes all power to God.
El humilde Nazareno derrocó la suposición de que el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte tienen poder. Demostró que no tenían poder.
The humble Nazarene overthrew the supposition that sin, sickness, and death have power. He proved them powerless.
Jesús jamás enseñó que los medicamentos, el alimento, el aire y el ejercicio podían dar salud a un hombre, o que podían destruir la vida humana; tampoco ilustró tales errores en su práctica. Él atribuía la armonía del hombre a la Mente y no a la materia, y jamás intentó anular la sentencia de Dios, la cual selló la condenación divina contra el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte.
Jesus never taught that drugs, food, air, and exercise could make a man healthy, or that they could destroy human life; nor did he illustrate these errors by his practice. He referred man's harmony to Mind, not to matter, and never tried to make of none effect the sentence of God, which sealed God's condemnation of sin, sickness, and death.
La Ciencia Cristiana extermina la droga y se apoya sólo en la Mente como Principio sanativo, reconociendo que la Mente divina tiene todo el poder.
Los narcóticos aquietan la mente mortal y así alivian al cuerpo; pero dejan peor a ambos, mente y cuerpo, por esa sumisión. La Ciencia Cristiana afecta toda la corporeidad —a saber, la mente y el cuerpo— y presenta la prueba de que la Vida es continua y armoniosa. La Ciencia neutraliza al error y, a la vez, lo destruye. La humanidad se ve beneficiada por esa patología espiritual y profunda.
Christian Science exterminates the drug, and rests on Mind alone as the curative Principle, acknowledging that the divine Mind has all power.
Narcotics quiet mortal mind, and so relieve the body; but they leave both mind and body worse for this submission. Christian Science impresses the entire corporeality, — namely, mind and body, — and brings out the proof that Life is continuous and harmonious. Science both neutralizes error and destroys it. Mankind is the better for this spiritual and profound pathology.
Los medicamentos, las cataplasmas y el aguardiente son torpes sustitutos de la dignidad y el poder de la Mente divina y su eficacia para sanar. Es lamentable inducir a los hombres a la tentación por los desvíos de este mundo desolado —haciendo al género humano víctima de recetas embriagantes para los enfermos, a tal punto que la mente mortal llega a cultivar un apetito por las bebidas alcohólicas, y hombres y mujeres degeneran en beodos repulsivos.
Drugs, cataplasms, and whiskey are stupid substitutes for the dignity and potency of divine Mind and its efficacy to heal. It is pitiful to lead men into temptation through the byways of this wilderness world, — to victimize the race with intoxicating prescriptions for the sick, until mortal mind acquires an educated appetite for strong drink, and men and women become loathsome sots.
Gracias a la Ciencia Cristiana, se inspira a la religión y a la medicina con naturaleza y esencia más divinas; se da nuevas alas a la fe y a la comprensión, y los pensamientos vuelven en amistad inteligente con Dios.
Through Christian Science, religion and medicine are inspired with a diviner nature and essence; fresh pinions are given to faith and understanding, and thoughts acquaint themselves intelligently with God.
Cuando evidentemente me encontraba cerca de los confines de la existencia mortal, estando ya en la sombra del valle de muerte, aprendí estas verdades en la Ciencia divina: que todo ser verdadero está en Dios, la Mente divina, y que la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor son todopoderosos y están siempre presentes; que lo opuesto de la Verdad —a lo cual se llama error, pecado, enfermedad, dolencia, muerte— es el falso testimonio del falso sentido material de que la mente está en la materia; que ese falso sentido desarrolla, en creencia, un estado subjetivo de la mente mortal al cual esa misma llamada mente denomina materia, excluyendo así el verdadero concepto del Espíritu.
When apparently near the confines of mortal existence, standing already within the shadow of the death-valley, I learned these truths in divine Science: that all real being is in God, the divine Mind, and that Life, Truth, and Love are all-powerful and ever-present; that the opposite of Truth, — called error, sin, sickness, disease, death, — is the false testimony of false material sense, of mind in matter; that this false sense evolves, in belief, a subjective state of mortal mind which this same so-called mind names matter, thereby shutting out the true sense of Spirit.
La Ciencia Cristiana revela de modo incontrovertible que la Mente es Todo-en-todo, que las únicas realidades son la Mente divina e idea divina. Ese gran hecho, sin embargo, no se ve apoyado por evidencia perceptible hasta que se demuestra su Principio divino en la curación de los enfermos y se comprueba así que es absoluto y divino. Las tres grandes verdades del Espíritu: la omnipotencia, la omnipresencia y la omnisciencia —el Espíritu poseyendo todo el poder, llenando todo el espacio, constituyendo toda la Ciencia— contradicen por siempre la creencia de que la materia pueda ser real. Esas verdades eternas revelan la existencia primordial como la realidad radiante de la creación de Dios, en la cual todo lo que Él ha hecho es declarado bueno por Su sabiduría.
Fue así que vi, como jamás lo había visto antes, la terrible irrealidad llamada mal. La equipolencia de Dios sacó a luz otra gloriosa proposición —la perfectibilidad del hombre y el establecimiento del reino de los cielos en la tierra.
Christian Science reveals incontrovertibly that Mind is All-in-all, that the only realities are the divine Mind and idea. This great fact is not, however, seen to be supported by sensible evidence, until its divine Principle is demonstrated by healing the sick and thus proved absolute and divine. This proof once seen, no other conclusion can be reached.
Jesus once said of his lessons: "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John vii. 16, 17.)
The three great verities of Spirit, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, — Spirit possessing all power, filling all space, constituting all Science, — contradict forever the belief that matter can be actual. These eternal verities reveal primeval existence as the radiant reality of God's creation, in which all that He has made is pronounced by His wisdom good.
Thus it was that I beheld, as never before, the awful unreality called evil. The equipollence of God brought to light another glorious proposition, — man's perfectibility and the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Admitimos que el negro no es color, porque no refleja luz. De igual modo debería negársele entidad o poder al mal, porque no tiene ninguno de los matices divinos. Pablo dice: "Porque las cosas invisibles de Él... se hacen claramente visibles desde la creación del mundo, siendo entendidas por medio de las cosas hechas".(Romanos 1:20.) Cuando la sustancia del Espíritu aparece en la Ciencia Cristiana, se reconoce que la materia es nada. Donde está el espíritu de Dios, y no hay lugar donde Dios no está, el mal se vuelve nada, lo contrario del algo del Espíritu. Si no hay reflejar espiritual, entonces sólo quedan las tinieblas del vacío y ni un solo vestigio de matices celestiales.
We admit that black is not a color, because it reflects no light. So evil should be denied identity or power, because it has none of the divine hues. Paul says: "For the invisible things of Him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made." (Romans i. 20.) When the substance of Spirit appears in Christian Science, the nothingness of matter is recognized. Where the spirit of God is, and there is no place where God is not, evil becomes nothing, — the opposite of the something of Spirit. If there is no spiritual reflection, then there remains only the darkness of vacuity and not a trace of heavenly tints.
La Ciencia Cristiana destruye las creencias materiales mediante la comprensión de lo que es el Espíritu, y la perfección de ese trabajo determina la salud.
El mal es una negación, porque es la ausencia de la verdad. Es nada, porque es la ausencia de algo. Es irreal, porque presupone la ausencia de Dios, el omnipotente y omnipresente. Todo mortal debe aprender que no hay poder ni realidad en el mal.
Christian Science destroys material beliefs through the understanding of Spirit, and the thoroughness of this work determines health.
Evil is a negation, because it is the absence of truth. It is nothing, because it is the absence of something. It is unreal, because it presupposes the absence of God, the omnipotent and omnipresent. Every mortal must learn that there is neither power nor reality in evil.
El día en que se predique la omnipotencia de Dios y se proclame que Él es absoluto, los sermones cristianos sanarán a los enfermos.
When the omnipotence of God is preached and His absoluteness is set forth, Christian sermons will heal the sick.
Cuando se presente la condición que según vuestra creencia ocasiona la enfermedad, ya se trate de aire, ejercicio, herencia, contagio o accidente, desempeñad entonces vuestro oficio de portero y cerrad el paso a tales pensamientos y temores malsanos. Excluid de la mente mortal los errores nocivos; entonces el cuerpo no podrá sufrir a causa de ellos. Los resultados de dolor o de placer tienen que provenir de la mente, y como un guardián que abandona su puesto admitimos la creencia intrusa, olvidando que con la ayuda divina podemos prohibirle la entrada.
When the condition is present which you say induces disease, whether it be air, exercise, heredity, contagion, or accident, then perform your office as porter and shut out these unhealthy thoughts and fears. Exclude from mortal mind the offending errors; then the body cannot suffer from them. The issues of pain or pleasure must come through mind, and like a watchman forsaking his post, we admit the intruding belief, forgetting that through divine help we can forbid this entrance.
La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Ejerced esa autoridad otorgada por Dios. Tomad posesión de vuestro cuerpo y regid sus sensaciones y funciones. Levantaos en la fuerza del Espíritu para resistir todo lo que sea desemejante al bien. Dios ha hecho al hombre capaz de eso, y nada puede invalidar la capacidad y el poder divinamente otorgados al hombre.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.
Porque Tuyo es el reino, y el poder, y la gloria, por todos los siglos. Porque Dios es infinito, todo poder, todo Vida, Verdad, Amor, está por encima de todo, y es Todo.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
For God is infinite, all-power, all Life, Truth, Love, over all, and All.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
