8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
14 Con justicia serás adornada; estarás lejos de opresión, porque no temerás, y de temor, porque no se acercará a ti.
17 Ninguna arma forjada contra ti prosperará, y condenarás toda lengua que se levante contra ti en juicio. Esta es la herencia de los siervos de Jehová, y su salvación de mí vendrá, dijo Jehová.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
1 Josafat rey de Judá volvió en paz a su casa en Jerusalén.
1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2 Y acudieron algunos y dieron aviso a Josafat, diciendo: Contra ti viene una gran multitud…
3 Entonces él tuvo temor; y Josafat humilló su rostro para consultar a Jehová, e hizo pregonar ayuno a todo Judá.
4 Y se reunieron los de Judá para pedir socorro a Jehová;
13 Y todo Judá estaba en pie delante de Jehová,
14 Y estaba allí Jahaziel… sobre el cual vino el Espíritu de Jehová en medio de la reunión;
15 y dijo: … Jehová os dice así: No temáis ni os amedrentéis delante de esta multitud tan grande, porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios.
16 Mañana descenderéis contra ellos;
17 No habrá para qué peleéis vosotros en este caso; paraos, estad quietos, y ved la salvación de Jehová con vosotros. … porque Jehová estará con vosotros.
18 Entonces Josafat se inclinó rostro a tierra, y asimismo todo Judá y los moradores de Jerusalén se postraron delante de Jehová, y adoraron a Jehová.
20 Y cuando se levantaron por la mañana,
21 Y habido consejo con el pueblo, puso a algunos que cantasen y alabasen a Jehová, vestidos de ornamentos sagrados, mientras salía la gente armada, y que dijesen: Glorificad a Jehová, porque su misericordia es para siempre.
22 Y cuando comenzaron a entonar cantos de alabanza, Jehová puso contra los hijos de Amón, de Moab y del monte de Seir, las emboscadas de ellos mismos que venían contra Judá, y se mataron los unos a los otros.
24 Y luego que vino Judá a la torre del desierto, miraron hacia la multitud, y he aquí yacían ellos en tierra muertos, pues ninguno había escapado.
29 Y el pavor de Dios cayó sobre todos los reinos de aquella tierra, cuando oyeron que Jehová había peleado contra los enemigos de Israel.
30 Y el reino de Josafat tuvo paz, porque su Dios le dio paz por todas partes.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee …
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord:
13 And all Judah stood before the Lord,
14 Then upon Jahaziel … came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, … Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
16 To morrow go ye down against them:
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, … for the Lord will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
20 And they rose early in the morning,
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.
10 En gran manera me gozaré en Jehová, mi alma se alegrará en mi Dios; porque me vistió con vestiduras de salvación,
11 Porque como la tierra produce su renuevo, y como el huerto hace brotar su semilla, así Jehová el Señor hará brotar justicia y alabanza delante de todas las naciones.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation,
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
18 Viéndose Jesús rodeado de mucha gente, mandó pasar al otro lado.
18 Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.
2 Y sucedió que le trajeron un paralítico, tendido sobre una cama; y al ver Jesús la fe de ellos, dijo al paralítico: Ten ánimo, hijo; tus pecados te son perdonados.
3 Entonces algunos de los escribas decían dentro de sí: Este blasfema.
4 Y conociendo Jesús los pensamientos de ellos, dijo: ¿Por qué pensáis mal en vuestros corazones?
5 Porque, ¿qué es más fácil, decir: Los pecados te son perdonados, o decir: Levántate y anda?
6 Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene potestad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dice entonces al paralítico): Levántate, toma tu cama, y vete a tu casa.
7 Entonces él se levantó y se fue a su casa.
8 Y la gente, al verlo, se maravilló y glorificó a Dios, que había dado tal potestad a los hombres.
2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
7 And he arose, and departed to his house.
8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
20 Preguntado por los fariseos, cuándo había de venir el reino de Dios, les respondió y dijo: El reino de Dios no vendrá con advertencia,
21 ni dirán: Helo aquí, o helo allí; porque he aquí el reino de Dios está entre vosotros.
20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
2 …la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.
6 Porque el ocuparse de la carne es muerte, pero el ocuparse del Espíritu es vida y paz.
9 Mas vosotros no vivís según la carne, sino según el Espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros.
14 Porque todos los que son guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, estos son hijos de Dios.
15 Pues no habéis recibido el espíritu de esclavitud para estar otra vez en temor, sino que habéis recibido el espíritu de adopción, por el cual clamamos: ¡Abba, Padre!
16 El Espíritu mismo da testimonio a nuestro espíritu, de que somos hijos de Dios:
17 Y si hijos, también herederos; herederos de Dios y coherederos con Cristo,
2 …the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;
3 oí una gran voz del cielo que decía: He aquí el tabernáculo de Dios con los hombres, y él morará con ellos; y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos como su Dios.
4 Enjugará Dios toda lágrima de los ojos de ellos; y ya no habrá muerte, ni habrá más llanto, ni clamor, ni dolor; porque las primeras cosas pasaron.
3 I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma.
Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul.
CIELO. Armonía; el reino del Espíritu; gobierno por el Principio divino; espiritualidad; felicidad; la atmósfera del Alma.
Heaven. Harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul.
Los cristianos se regocijan en belleza y abundancia secretas, ocultas al mundo pero conocidas de Dios. El olvido de sí mismo, la pureza y el afecto son oraciones constantes. La práctica y no la profesión, la comprensión y no la creencia, alcanzan el oído y la diestra de la omnipotencia y ciertamente hacen descender bendiciones infinitas. La fidelidad es la base de la fe iluminada. Sin preparación para la santidad, no podemos recibir la santidad.
Christians rejoice in secret beauty and bounty, hidden from the world, but known to God. Self-forgetfulness, purity, and affection are constant prayers. Practice not profession, understanding not belief, gain the ear and right hand of omnipotence and they assuredly call down infinite blessings. Trustworthiness is the foundation of enlightened faith. Without a fitness for holiness, we cannot receive holiness.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna y los sentidos materiales y la voluntad humana no tienen cabida.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.
El pensamiento humano ha adulterado el significado de la palabra alma mediante la hipótesis de que el alma es una inteligencia tanto mala como buena, que reside en la materia. El uso apropiado de la palabra alma siempre puede obtenerse sustituyéndola por la palabra Dios, donde se requiera el significado deífico. En otros casos, empléese la palabra sentido, y se tendrá el significado científico. Como se usa en la Ciencia Cristiana, Alma es propiamente sinónimo de Espíritu, o Dios; pero fuera de la Ciencia, alma es idéntica a sentido, a sensación material.
Human thought has adulterated the meaning of the word soul through the hypothesis that soul is both an evil and a good intelligence, resident in matter. The proper use of the word soul can always be gained by substituting the word God, where the deific meaning is required. In other cases, use the word sense, and you will have the scientific signification. As used in Christian Science, Soul is properly the synonym of Spirit, or God; but out of Science, soul is identical with sense, with material sensation.
La metafísica resuelve las cosas en pensamientos y reemplaza los objetos de los sentidos por las ideas del Alma.
Metaphysics resolves things into thoughts, and exchanges the objects of sense for the ideas of Soul.
Al tratar de deshacer los errores de los sentidos, uno deberá pagar plena y honradamente hasta el último cuadrante, hasta que todo error sea finalmente subyugado a la Verdad. El método divino de saldar la paga del pecado consiste en desenmarañar nuestros enredos y aprender por experiencia a distinguir entre los sentidos y el Alma.
In trying to undo the errors of sense one must pay fully and fairly the utmost farthing, until all error is finally brought into subjection to Truth. The divine method of paying sin's wages involves unwinding one's snarls, and learning from experience how to divide between sense and Soul.
…todo eso tiene que dar lugar a la realidad spiritual por la traslación del hombre y el universo nuevamente al Espíritu. En la proporción en que eso se haga, se revelará que el hombre y el universo son armoniosos y eternos.
El sentido espiritual es una capacidad consciente y constante de comprender a Dios.
…all must give place to the spiritual fact by the translation of man and the universe back into Spirit. In proportion as this is done, man and the universe will be found harmonious and eternal.
Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God.
En la Ciencia el hombre es linaje del Espíritu. Lo bello, lo bueno y lo puro constituyen su ascendencia. Su origen no está, como el de los mortales, en el instinto bruto, ni pasa él por condiciones materiales antes de alcanzar la inteligencia. El Espíritu es la fuente primitiva y última de su ser; Dios es su Padre, y la Vida es la ley de su existencia.
In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being.
Las relaciones entre Dios y el hombre, el Principio divino y la idea divina, son indestructibles en la Ciencia; y la Ciencia no conoce ningún alejamiento de la armonía ni retorno a ella, sino mantiene que el orden divino o ley espiritual, en que Dios y todo lo que es creado por Él son perfectos y eternos, ha permanecido inalterado en su historia eterna.
The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.
No podemos negar que la Vida se sostiene a sí misma, y nunca debiéramos negar la eterna armonía del Alma, simplemente porque para los sentidos mortales parece existir discordancia. Nuestra ignorancia respecto a Dios, el Principio divino, es lo que produce la aparente discordancia, y comprenderlo a Él correctamente restaura la armonía. La Verdad finalmente nos obligará a todos a cambiar los placeres y dolores de los sentidos por los goces del Alma.
We cannot deny that Life is self-sustained, and we should never deny the everlasting harmony of Soul, simply because, to the mortal senses, there is seeming discord. It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony. Truth will at length compel us all to exchange the pleasures and pains of sense for the joys of Soul.
El mismo poder que sana al pecado sana también a la enfermedad. Ésta es "la hermosura de la santidad": que cuando la Verdad sana a los enfermos, echa fuera los males, y cuando la Verdad echa fuera el mal llamado enfermedad, sana a los enfermos.
The same power which heals sin heals also sickness. This is "the beauty of holiness," that when Truth heals the sick, it casts out evils, and when Truth casts out the evil called disease, it heals the sick.
Jesús sanó la enfermedad y el pecado por un mismo procedimiento metafísico.
Jesus healed sickness and sin by one and the same metaphysical process.
No hay más que un camino que conduce al cielo, la armonía, y Cristo en la Ciencia divina nos muestra ese camino. Es no conocer otra realidad —no tener otra consciencia de la vida— que el bien, Dios y Su reflejo, y elevarse sobre los llamados dolores y placeres de los sentidos.
There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
La Ciencia divina invierte el falso testimonio de los sentidos materiales y así destruye los fundamentos del error. De ahí el antagonismo entre la Ciencia y los sentidos y la imposibilidad de lograr una comprensión perfecta antes de eliminar los errores de los sentidos.
El hombre es armonioso cuando es gobernado por el Alma. De ahí la importancia de comprender la Verdad del ser, que revela las leyes de la existencia espiritual.
Divine Science reverses the false testimony of the material senses, and thus tears away the foundations of error. Hence the enmity between Science and the senses, and the impossibility
of attaining perfect understanding till the errors of sense are eliminated.
Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.
Debemos formar modelos perfectos en el pensamiento y mirarlos continuamente, o nunca los esculpiremos en vidas grandes y nobles. Dejemos que el altruismo, la bondad, la misericordia, la justicia, la salud, la santidad, el amor —el reino de los cielos— reinen en nosotros, y el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte disminuirán hasta que finalmente desaparezcan.
We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives. Let unselfishness, goodness, mercy, justice, health, holiness, love — the kingdom of heaven — reign within us, and sin, disease, and death will diminish until they finally disappear.
La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Ejerced esa autoridad otorgada por Dios. Tomad posesión de vuestro cuerpo y regid sus sensaciones y funciones. Levantaos en la fuerza del Espíritu para resistir todo lo que sea desemejante al bien. Dios ha hecho al hombre capaz de eso, y nada puede invalidar la capacidad y el poder divinamente otorgados al hombre.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.
Discerniendo el opuesto espiritual de la materialidad, o sea, el camino mediante Cristo, la Verdad, el hombre reabrirá con la llave de la Ciencia divina las puertas del Paraíso, que las creencias humanas han cerrado, y se encontrará no como hombre caído, sino erguido, puro y libre.
Through discernment of the spiritual opposite of materiality, even the way through Christ, Truth, man will reopen with the key of divine Science the gates of Paradise which human beliefs have closed, and will find himself unfallen, upright, pure, and free.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
