1. Sométase toda persona a las autoridades superiores; porque no hay autoridad sino de parte de Dios, y las que hay, por Dios han sido establecidas.
2. De modo que quien se opone a la autoridad, a lo establecido por Dios resiste; y los que resisten, acarrean condenación para sí mismos.
5. Por lo cual es necesario estarle sujetos, no solamente por razón del castigo, sino también por causa de la conciencia.
8. No debáis a nadie nada, sino el amaros unos a otros; porque el que ama al prójimo, ha cumplido la ley.
9. Porque: No adulterarás, no matarás, no hurtarás, no dirás falso testimonio, no codiciarás, y cualquier otro mandamiento, en esta sentencia se resume: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.
10. El amor no hace mal al prójimo; así que el cumplimiento de la ley es el amor.

10. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

14 Y saliendo Jesús, vio una gran multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, y sanó a los que de ellos estaban enfermos.
15 Cuando anochecía, se acercaron a él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y la hora ya pasada; despide a la multitud, para que vayan por las aldeas y compren de comer.
16 Jesús les dijo: No tienen necesidad de irse; dadles vosotros de comer.
17 Y ellos dijeron: No tenemos aquí sino cinco panes y dos peces.
18 Él les dijo: Traédmelos acá.
19 Entonces mandó a la gente recostarse sobre la hierba; y tomando los cinco panes y los dos peces, y levantando los ojos al cielo, bendijo, y partió y dio los panes a los discípulos, y los discípulos a la multitud.
20 Y comieron todos, y se saciaron; y recogieron lo que sobró de los pedazos, doce cestas llenas.
21 Y los que comieron fueron como cinco mil hombres, sin contar las mujeres y los niños.
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
9 Entonces Jesús les dijo:
27 Amad a vuestros enemigos, haced bien a los que os aborrecen;
28 bendecid a los que os maldicen, y orad por los que os calumnian.
29 Al que te hiera en una mejilla, preséntale también la otra; y al que te quite la capa, ni aun la túnica le niegues.
30 A cualquiera que te pida, dale; y al que tome lo que es tuyo, no pidas que te lo devuelva.
31 Y como queréis que hagan los hombres con vosotros, así también haced vosotros con ellos.
32 Porque si amáis a los que os aman, ¿qué mérito tenéis? Porque también los pecadores aman a los que los aman.
33 Y si hacéis bien a los que os hacen bien, ¿qué mérito tenéis? Porque también los pecadores hacen lo mismo.
34 Y si prestáis a aquellos de quienes esperáis recibir, ¿qué mérito tenéis? Porque también los pecadores prestan a los pecadores, para recibir otro tanto.
35 Amad, pues, a vuestros enemigos, y haced bien, y prestad, no esperando de ello nada; y será vuestro galardón grande, y seréis hijos del Altísimo; porque él es benigno para con los ingratos y malos.
36 Sed, pues, misericordiosos, como también vuestro Padre es misericordioso.

27 Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32 For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
7 Amados, amémonos unos a otros; porque el amor es de Dios. Todo aquel que ama, es nacido de Dios, y conoce a Dios.
8 El que no ama, no ha conocido a Dios; porque Dios es amor.
9 En esto se mostró el amor de Dios para con nosotros, en que Dios envió a su Hijo unigénito al mundo, para que vivamos por él.
10 En esto consiste el amor: no en que nosotros hayamos amado a Dios, sino en que él nos amó a nosotros, y envió a su Hijo en propiciación por nuestros pecados.
11 Amados, si Dios nos ha amado así, debemos también nosotros amarnos unos a otros.
12 Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios. Si nos amamos unos a otros, Dios permanece en nosotros, y su amor se ha perfeccionado en nosotros.
13 En esto conocemos que permanecemos en él, y él en nosotros, en que nos ha dado de su Espíritu.
14 Y nosotros hemos visto y testificamos que el Padre ha enviado al Hijo, el Salvador del mundo.
15 Todo aquel que confiese que Jesús es el Hijo de Dios, Dios permanece en él, y él en Dios.
16 Y nosotros hemos conocido y creído el amor que Dios tiene para con nosotros. Dios es amor; y el que permanece en amor, permanece en Dios, y Dios en él.
17 En esto se ha perfeccionado el amor en nosotros, para que tengamos confianza en el día del juicio; pues como él es, así somos nosotros en este mundo.
18 En el amor no hay temor, sino que el perfecto amor echa fuera el temor; porque el temor lleva en sí castigo. De donde el que teme, no ha sido perfeccionado en el amor.
19 Nosotros le amamos a él, porque él nos amó primero.
20 Si alguno dice: Yo amo a Dios, y aborrece a su hermano, es mentiroso. Pues el que no ama a su hermano a quien ha visto, ¿cómo puede amar a Dios a quien no ha visto?
21 Y nosotros tenemos este mandamiento de él: El que ama a Dios, ame también a su hermano.
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
1 Si yo hablase lenguas humanas y angélicas, y no tengo amor, vengo a ser como metal que resuena, o címbalo que retiñe.
2 Y si tuviese profecía, y entendiese todos los misterios y toda ciencia, y si tuviese toda la fe, de tal manera que trasladase los montes, y no tengo amor, nada soy.
3 Y si repartiese todos mis bienes para dar de comer a los pobres, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, y no tengo amor, de nada me sirve.
4 El amor es sufrido, es benigno; el amor no tiene envidia, el amor no es jactancioso, no se envanece;
5 no hace nada indebido, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no guarda rencor;
6 no se goza de la injusticia, mas se goza de la verdad.
7 Todo lo sufre, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.
8 El amor nunca deja de ser; pero las profecías se acabarán, y cesarán las lenguas, y la ciencia acabará.
9 Porque en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;
10 mas cuando venga lo perfecto, entonces lo que es en parte se acabará.
11 Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, juzgaba como niño; mas cuando ya fui hombre, dejé lo que era de niño.
12 Ahora vemos por espejo, oscuramente; mas entonces veremos cara a cara. Ahora conozco en parte; pero entonces conoceré como fui conocido.
13 Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y el amor, estos tres; pero el mayor de ellos es el amor.
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
La parte vital, el corazón y alma de la Ciencia Cristiana, es el Amor.
The vital part, the heart and soul of Christian Science, is Love.
Sólo el Amor puede impartir la idea ilimitada concerniente a la Mente infinita.
Love alone can impart the limitless idea of infinite Mind.
La prueba de toda oración consiste en la respuesta a estas preguntas: ¿Amamos más a nuestro prójimo debido a este ruego? ¿Seguimos con el viejo egoísmo, satisfechos con haber orado por algo mejor, aunque no demos pruebas de la sinceridad de nuestras peticiones viviendo en conformidad con nuestra oración? Si el egoísmo se ha sometido a la bondad, seremos generosos con nuestro prójimo, y bendeciremos a los que nos maldicen; pero nunca cumpliremos con ese gran deber simplemente pidiendo que se haga. Hay una cruz que tomar antes de que podamos gozar de los frutos de nuestra fe y esperanza.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo
The test of all prayer lies in the answer to these questions: Do we love our neighbor better because of this asking? Do we pursue the old selfishness, satisfied with having prayed for something better, though we give no evidence of the sincerity of our requests by living consistently with our prayer? If selfishness has given place to kindness, we shall regard our neighbor unselfishly, and bless them that curse us; but we shall never meet this great duty simply by asking that it may be done. There is a cross to be taken up before we can enjoy the fruition of our hope and faith.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity.
Con un mismo Padre, o sea Dios, todos en la familia humana serían hermanos; y con una Mente única, y siendo ésa Dios, o el bien, la hermandad del hombre consistiría de Amor y Verdad y tendría unidad de Principio y poder espiritual, que constituyen la Ciencia.
With one Father, even God, the whole family of man would be brethren; and with one Mind and that God, or good, the brotherhood of man would consist of Love and Truth, and have unity of Principle and spiritual power which constitute divine Science.
Nuestro Maestro echaba fuera los demonios (males) y sanaba a los enfermos. Se debiera poder decir de sus seguidores también que ellos echan fuera el temor y todo mal de sí mismos y de otros y sanan a los enfermos.
Our Master cast out devils (evils) and healed the sick. It should be said of his followers also, that they cast fear and all evil out of themselves and others and heal the sick.
Dios da la idea menor de Sí mismo como un eslabón para la mayor y, en cambio, la más alta siempre protege a la más baja. Los ricos en espíritu ayudan a los pobres en una gran hermandad, teniendo todos el mismo Principio, o Padre; y bendito es ese hombre que ve la necesidad de su hermano y la satisface, procurando su propio bien beneficiando a otro. El Amor da a la idea espiritual más pequeña poder, inmortalidad y bondad, que brillan a través de todo, como la flor brilla a través del capullo. Todas las variadas expresiones de Dios reflejan salud, santidad e inmortalidad —Vida, Verdad y Amor infinitos..
God gives the lesser idea of Himself for a link to the greater, and in return, the higher always protects the lower. The rich in spirit help the poor in one grand brotherhood, all having the same Principle, or Father; and blessed is that man who seeth his brother's need and supplieth it, seeking his own in another's good. Love giveth to the least spiritual idea might, immortality, and goodness, which shine through all as the blossom shines through the bud. All the varied expressions of God reflect health, holiness, immortality — infinite Life, Truth, and Love.
Pregunta. — ¿Cómo puedo progresar más rápidamente en la comprensión de la Ciencia Cristiana?
Respuesta. — Estúdiese a fondo la letra y embébase el espíritu. Adhiérase al Principio divino de la Ciencia Cristiana y acátense los mandatos de Dios, morando firmemente en la sabiduría, la Verdad y el Amor. En la Ciencia de la Mente, pronto comprobaréis que el error no puede destruir al error. Aprenderéis también que en la Ciencia no se pueden transmitir sugestiones malévolas de un mortal a otro, pues hay una sola Mente, y esa Mente omnipotente y siempre presente es reflejada por el hombre y gobierna al universo entero. Aprenderéis que en la Ciencia Cristiana el primer deber es obedecer a Dios, tener una sola Mente, y amar al prójimo como a vosotros mismos.
Todos tenemos que aprender que la Vida es Dios. Preguntaos: ¿Estoy viviendo la vida que más se acerca al bien supremo? ¿Estoy demostrando el poder sanador de la Verdad y el Amor? Si es así, entonces el camino se irá iluminando cada vez más, "hasta que el día es perfecto". Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre. Mantened perpetuamente este pensamiento: que es la idea espiritual, el Espíritu Santo y Cristo, lo que os capacita para demostrar con certeza científica la regla de la curación, basada en su Principio divino, el Amor, que está por debajo, por encima y alrededor de todo el ser verdadero.
Question. — How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?
Answer. — Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love. In the Science of Mind, you will soon ascertain that error cannot destroy error. You will also learn that in Science there is no transfer of evil suggestions from one mortal to another, for there is but one Mind, and this ever-present omnipotent Mind is reflected by man and governs the entire universe. You will learn that in Christian Science the first duty is to obey God, to have one Mind, and to love another as yourself.
We all must learn that Life is God. Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day." Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man. Hold perpetually this thought, — that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to demonstrate, with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.
Lo que más necesitamos es la oración del deseo ferviente de crecer en gracia, oración que se expresa en paciencia, humildad, amor y buenas obras.
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds.
Así vemos, tanto en el primero como en el último libro de la Biblia —en el Génesis y el Apocalipsis—, que el pecado ha de ser reducido cristiana y científicamente a su nada original. "Que... nos amemos unos a otros" (1 Juan 3:23) es el consejo más sencillo y profundo del inspirado escritor. En la Ciencia somos hijos de Dios; pero todo lo que sea del sentido material, o que sea mortal, no pertenece a Sus hijos, porque la materialidad es la imagen invertida de la espiritualidad.
El Amor cumple la ley de la Ciencia Cristiana, y nada que no sea ese Principio divino, comprendido y demostrado, podrá ofrecer jamás la visión del Apocalipsis, abrir los siete sellos del error con la Verdad o descubrir las múltiples ilusiones del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte. Bajo la supremacía del Espíritu, se verá y se reconocerá que la materia tiene que desaparecer.
Thus we see, in both the first and last books of the Bible, — in Genesis and in the Apocalypse, — that sin is to be Christianly and scientifically reduced to its native nothingness. "Love one another" (I John, iii. 23), is the most simple and profound counsel of the inspired writer. In Science we are children of God; but whatever is of material sense, or mortal, belongs not to His children, for materiality is the inverted image of spirituality.
Love fulfils the law of Christian Science, and nothing short of this divine Principle, understood and demonstrated, can ever furnish the vision of the Apocalypse, open the seven seals of error with Truth, or uncover the myriad illusions of sin, sickness, and death. Under the supremacy of Spirit, it will be seen and acknowledged that matter must disappear.
Quien comprende suficientemente el Principio de la curación por la Mente señala a sus alumnos tanto el error como la verdad, tanto la práctica incorrecta como la correcta. El amor a Dios y al hombre es el verdadero incentivo en la curación y en la enseñanza. El Amor inspira el camino, lo ilumina, lo designa y va adelante en él. Los móviles rectos dan alas al pensamiento, y fuerza y soltura a la palabra y a la acción. El amor es sacerdote en el altar de la Verdad. Esperad pacientemente a que el Amor divino se mueva sobre la faz de las aguas de la mente mortal y forme el concepto perfecto. La paciencia debe "tener su obra completa".
He, who understands in sufficient degree the Principle of Mind-healing, points out to his student error as well as truth, the wrong as well as the right practice. Love for God and man is the true incentive in both healing and teaching. Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way. Right motives give pinions to thought, and strength and freedom to speech and action. Love is priestess at the altar of Truth. Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept. Patience must "have her perfect work."
El Principio divino del Primer Mandamiento es la base de la Ciencia del ser, por la cual el hombre demuestra salud, santidad y vida eterna. Un solo Dios infinito, el bien, unifica a los hombres y a las naciones; constituye la hermandad del hombre; pone fin a las guerras; cumple el mandato de las Escrituras: "Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo"; aniquila a la idolatría pagana y a la cristiana —todo lo que es injusto en los códigos sociales, civiles, criminales, políticos y religiosos; establece la igualdad de los sexos; anula la maldición que pesa sobre el hombre, y no deja nada que pueda pecar, sufrir, ser castigado o destruido.
The divine Principle of the First Commandment bases the Science of being, by which man demonstrates health, holiness, and life eternal. One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, "Love thy neighbor as thyself;" annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
En el universo de la Verdad, no se conoce materia. Ninguna suposición de error penetra allí. La Ciencia divina, la Palabra de Dios, dice a las tinieblas sobre la faz del error: "Dios es Todo-en-todo", y la luz del Amor siempre presente ilumina al universo.
Divine Science, the Word of God, saith to the darkness upon the face of error, "God is All-in-all," and the light of ever-present Love illumines the universe.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
