22. Por la misericordia de Jehová no hemos sido consumidos, porque nunca decayeron sus misericordias.

9 Y se le mostró a Pablo una visión de noche: un varón macedonio estaba en pie, rogándole y diciendo: Pasa a Macedonia y ayúdanos.
10 Cuando vio la visión, en seguida procuramos partir para Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio.
13 Y un día de reposo salimos fuera de la puerta, junto al río, donde solía hacerse la oración; y sentándonos, hablamos a las mujeres que se habían reunido.

1 Te encarezco delante de Dios y del Señor Jesucristo, que juzgará a los vivos y a los muertos en su manifestación y en su reino,
2 que prediques la palabra; que instes a tiempo y fuera de tiempo; redarguye, reprende, exhorta con toda paciencia y doctrina.

2 Gracia y paz os sean multiplicadas, en el conocimiento de Dios y de nuestro Señor Jesús,
3 Como todas las cosas que pertenecen a la vida y a la piedad nos han sido dadas por su divino poder, mediante el conocimiento de aquel que nos llamó por su gloria y excelencia,
4 por medio de las cuales nos ha dado preciosas y grandísimas promesas, para que por ellas llegaseis a ser participantes de la naturaleza divina.

Cuando pacientemente esperamos en Dios y honradamente buscamos la Verdad, El endereza nuestra vereda.
When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path.
El mejor sermón que jamás se haya predicado es la Verdad practicada y demostrada en la destrucción del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte. Sabiendo eso y sabiendo también que un solo afecto sería supremo en nosotros y dirigiría nuestra vida, Jesús dijo: "Ninguno puede servir a dos señores".
No podemos edificar con seguridad sobre cimientos falsos. La Verdad hace una nueva criatura en quien las cosas viejas pasan y "todas son hechas nuevas". Las pasiones, el egoísmo, los falsos apetitos, el odio, el temor, toda sensualidad, se someten a la espiritualidad, y la superabundancia del ser está del lado de Dios, el bien.
The best sermon ever preached is Truth practised and demonstrated by the destruction of sin, sickness, and death. Knowing this and knowing too that one affection would be supreme in us and take the lead in our lives, Jesus said, "No man can serve two masters."
We cannot build safely on false foundations. Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and "all things are become new." Passions, selfishness, false appetites, hatred, fear, all sensuality, yield to spirituality, and the superabundance of being is on the side of God, good.
El Principio divino de la curación se comprueba en la experiencia personal de cualquier investigador sincero de la Verdad. Su objetivo es bueno, y su práctica más segura y más eficaz que la de cualquier otro método curativo. El pensamiento cristiano sin prejuicios es el que responde más rápidamente a la Verdad y es convencido por ella.
The divine Principle of healing is proved in the personal experience of any sincere seeker of Truth. Its purpose is good, and its practice is safer and more potent than that of any other sanitary method. The unbiased Christian thought is soonest touched by Truth, and convinced of it.
Cuando lleguemos a tener más fe en la verdad del ser que en el error, más fe en el Espíritu que en la materia, más fe en vivir que en morir, más fe en Dios que en el hombre, entonces ninguna suposición material podrá impedir que sanemos a los enfermos y destruyamos al error.
When we come to have more faith in the truth of being than we have in error, more faith in Spirit than in matter, more faith in living than in dying, more faith in God than in man, then no material suppositions can prevent us from healing the sick and destroying error.
La Verdad infinita de la curación por el Cristo ha venido a esta época por medio de una "voz callada y suave", por medio de silencioso lenguaje y de unción divina, que vivifican y aumentan los efectos beneficiosos del cristianismo. Anhelo ver el cumplimiento de mi esperanza, a saber, los progresos superiores del estudiante en este sendero de luz.
Porque la Verdad es infinita, debe reconocerse que el error es nada. Porque la Verdad es omnipotente en bondad, el error, lo opuesto de la Verdad, no tiene poder. El mal no es sino el contrapeso de la nada. El mal más grande no es más que el opuesto hipotético del bien más elevado. La confianza inspirada por la Ciencia descansa en el hecho de que la Verdad es real y el error es irreal. El error es un cobarde ante la Verdad. La Ciencia divina insiste en que el tiempo probará todo eso. Tanto la verdad como el error se han hecho más comprensibles que nunca a los mortales, y la verdad llegará a ser aún más clara, a medida que el error se destruya a sí mismo.
The infinite Truth of the Christ-cure has come to this age through a "still, small voice," through silent utterances and divine anointing which quicken and increase the beneficial effects of Christianity. I long to see the consummation of my hope, namely, the student's higher attainments in this line of light.
Because Truth is infinite, error should be known as nothing. Because Truth is omnipotent in goodness, error, Truth's opposite, has no might. Evil is but the counterpoise of nothingness. The greatest wrong is but a supposititious opposite of the highest right. The confidence inspired by Science lies in the fact that Truth is real and error is unreal. Error is a coward before Truth. Divine Science insists that time will prove all this. Both truth and error have come nearer than ever before to the apprehension of mortals, and truth will become still clearer as error is self-destroyed.
Es más fácil desear la Verdad que deshacerse del error. Los mortales tal vez procuren comprender la Ciencia Cristiana, pero no podrán cosechar de la Ciencia Cristiana las realidades del ser sin luchar por ellas. Esa lucha consiste en el esfuerzo por abandonar el error de toda índole y de no poseer otra consciencia que el bien.
Los saludables castigos del Amor nos ayudan a progresar en nuestra jornada hacia la rectitud, la paz y la pureza, que son las señales del camino de la Ciencia. Contemplando las infinitas tareas de la verdad, hacemos una pausa —esperamos en Dios. Luego avanzamos, hasta que el pensamiento ilimitado se adelante extasiado y a la concepción libre de trabas le sean dadas alas para remontarse a la gloria divina.
A fin de comprender más, tenemos que poner en práctica lo que ya sabemos. Tenemos que recordar que la Verdad es demostrable cuando es comprendida y que el bien no se comprende mientras no se demuestre. Si somos "fieles sobre poco", sobre mucho se nos pondrá; pero el talento que no se usa se deteriora y se pierde. Cuando los enfermos o los pecadores despierten para darse cuenta de la necesidad que tienen de lo que carecen, estarán dispuestos a aceptar la Ciencia divina, que gravita hacia el Alma y se aleja del sentido material, aparta el pensamiento del cuerpo y eleva a la mente mortal misma a la contemplación de algo mejor que la enfermedad o el pecado. La verdadera idea de Dios da la comprensión verdadera de la Vida y el Amor, despoja al sepulcro de su victoria, quita todo pecado y el engaño de que hay otras mentes, y destruye a la mortalidad.
Los efectos de la Ciencia Cristiana se ven menos de lo que se sienten. Es la "voz callada y suave" de la Verdad, expresándose. O bien nos estamos alejando de esa expresión, o la estamos escuchando y elevándonos.
It is easier to desire Truth than to rid one's self of error. Mortals may seek the understanding of Christian Science, but they will not be able to glean from Christian Science the facts of being without striving for them. This strife consists in the endeavor to forsake error of every kind and to possess no other consciousness but good.
Through the wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which are the landmarks of Science. Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, — wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.
In order to apprehend more, we must put into practice what we already know. We must recollect that Truth is demonstrable when understood, and that good is not understood until demonstrated. If "faithful over a few things," we shall be made rulers over many; but the one unused talent decays and is lost. When the sick or the sinning awake to realize their need of what they have not, they will be receptive of divine Science, which gravitates towards Soul and away from material sense, removes thought from the body, and elevates even mortal mind to the contemplation of something better than disease or sin. The true idea of God gives the true understanding of Life and Love, robs the grave of victory, takes away all sin and the delusion that there are other minds, and destroys mortality.
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher.
En la Ciencia Cristiana, negar la Verdad es funesto, mientras que un justo reconocimiento de la Verdad y de lo que ella ha hecho por nosotros es una ayuda eficaz. Si el orgullo, la superstición o cualquier otro error impide que se reconozcan honradamente los beneficios recibidos, eso será un obstáculo para el restablecimiento del enfermo y para el buen éxito del estudiante.
In Christian Science, a denial of Truth is fatal, while a just acknowledgment of Truth and of what it has done for us is an effectual help. If pride, superstition, or any error prevents the honest recognition of benefits received, this will be a hindrance to the recovery of the sick and the success of the student.
Si el alumno sale a practicar las enseñanzas de la Verdad sólo en parte, dividiendo su interés entre Dios y las riquezas y sustituyendo la Verdad con sus propias opiniones, inevitablemente cosechará el error que siembre. Quienquiera que desee demostrar la curación por la Ciencia Cristiana, tiene que obrar estrictamente de acuerdo con sus reglas, tener en cuenta cada una de sus proposiciones y avanzar partiendo de los rudimentos establecidos. Nada hay de difícil ni penoso en esa tarea, cuando se ha señalado el camino; pero sólo la abnegación, la sinceridad, el cristianismo y la persistencia ganan el premio, como generalmente lo hacen en todas las actividades de la vida.
If the student goes away to practise Truth's teachings only in part, dividing his interests between God and mammon and substituting his own views for Truth, he will inevitably reap the error he sows. Whoever would demonstrate the healing of Christian Science must abide strictly by its rules, heed every statement, and advance from the rudiments laid down. There is nothing difficult nor toilsome in this task, when the way is pointed out; but self-denial, sincerity, Christianity, and persistence alone win the prize, as they usually do in every department of life.
La abnegación, por la cual renunciamos a todo por la Verdad, o Cristo, en nuestra guerra contra el error, es una regla en la Ciencia Cristiana. Esa regla claramente interpreta a Dios como Principio divino —como Vida, representada por el Padre; como Verdad, representada por el Hijo; como Amor, representado por la Madre. Todo mortal, aquí o en el más allá, llegará a un punto en que tendrá que luchar contra la creencia mortal en un poder opuesto a Dios, y vencerla.
El pasaje bíblico: "Sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré", se cumple literalmente cuando estamos conscientes de la supremacía de la Verdad, por la cual se ve la nada del error;
Self-abnegation, by which we lay down all for Truth, or Christ, in our warfare against error, is a rule in Christian Science. This rule clearly interprets God as divine Principle, — as Life, represented by the Father; as Truth, represented by the Son; as Love, represented by the Mother. Every mortal at some period, here or hereafter, must grapple with and overcome the mortal belief in a power opposed to God.
The Scripture, "Thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many," is literally fulfilled, when we are conscious of the supremacy of Truth, by which the nothingness of error is seen;
Si la Verdad está venciendo al error en tu conducta y conversación diarias, finalmente puedes decir: "He peleado la buena batalla... he guardado la fe", porque eres un hombre mejor. Eso significa tener nuestra parte en la unión con la Verdad y el Amor.
Si el discípulo está progresando espiritualmente, está esforzándose por entrar. Se aparta constantemente del sentido material y mira hacia las cosas imperecederas del Espíritu. Si es sincero, será diligente desde el comienzo y ganará un poco cada día en la dirección correcta, hasta que al fin acabe su carrera con gozo.
If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, "I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith," because you are a better man. This is having our part in the at-one-ment with Truth and Love.
If the disciple is advancing spiritually, he is striving to enter in. He constantly turns away from material sense, and looks towards the imperishable things of Spirit. If honest, he will be in earnest from the start, and gain a little each day in the right direction, till at last he finishes his course with joy.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
