1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust:
3 Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.

9 Porque también yo soy hombre bajo autoridad, y tengo bajo mis órdenes soldados; y digo a este: Ve, y va; y al otro: Ven, y viene; y a mi siervo: Haz esto, y lo hace.
10 Al oírlo Jesús, se maravilló, y dijo a los que le seguían: De cierto os digo, que ni aun en Israel he hallado tanta fe.
13 Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: Ve, y como creíste, te sea hecho. Y su criado fue sanado en aquella misma hora.
5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
5 Vino, pues, a una ciudad de Samaria llamada Sicar,
6 Y estaba allí el pozo de Jacob. Entonces Jesús, cansado del camino, se sentó así junto al pozo. Era como la hora sexta.
7 Vino una mujer de Samaria a sacar agua; y Jesús le dijo: Dame de beber.
9 La mujer samaritana le dijo: ¿Cómo tú, siendo judío, me pides a mí de beber, que soy mujer samaritana? Porque judíos y samaritanos no se tratan entre sí.
10 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: Si conocieras el don de Dios, y quién es el que te dice: Dame de beber; tú le pedirías, y él te daría agua viva.
11 La mujer le dijo: Señor, no tienes con qué sacarla, y el pozo es hondo. ¿De dónde, pues, tienes el agua viva?
13 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: Cualquiera que bebiere de esta agua, volverá a tener sed;
14 mas el que bebiere del agua que yo le daré, no tendrá sed jamás; sino que el agua que yo le daré será en él una fuente de agua que salte para vida eterna.
15 La mujer le dijo: Señor, dame esa agua, para que no tenga yo sed, ni venga aquí a sacarla.
16 Jesús le dijo: Ve, llama a tu marido, y ven acá.
17 Respondió la mujer y dijo: No tengo marido. Jesús le dijo: Bien has dicho: No tengo marido;
18 porque cinco maridos has tenido, y el que ahora tienes no es tu marido; esto has dicho con verdad.
19 Le dijo la mujer: Señor, me parece que tú eres profeta.
20 Nuestros padres adoraron en este monte, y vosotros decís que en Jerusalén es el lugar donde se debe adorar.
21 Jesús le dijo: Mujer, créeme, que la hora viene cuando ni en este monte ni en Jerusalén adoraréis al Padre.
23 Mas la hora viene, y ahora es, cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu y en verdad; porque también el Padre tales adoradores busca que le adoren.
24 Dios es Espíritu; y los que le adoran, en espíritu y en verdad es necesario que adoren.
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar,
6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
1 Ahora, pues, ninguna condenación hay para los que están en Cristo Jesús, los que no andan conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu.
2 Porque la ley del Espíritu de vida en Cristo Jesús me ha librado de la ley del pecado y de la muerte.
3 Porque lo que era imposible para la ley, por cuanto era débil por la carne, Dios, enviando a su Hijo en semejanza de carne de pecado y a causa del pecado, condenó al pecado en la carne;
4 para que la justicia de la ley se cumpliese en nosotros, que no andamos conforme a la carne, sino conforme al Espíritu.
5 Porque los que son de la carne piensan en las cosas de la carne; pero los que son del Espíritu, en las cosas del Espíritu.
6 Porque el ocuparse de la carne es muerte, pero el ocuparse del Espíritu es vida y paz.
9 Mas vosotros no vivís según la carne, sino según el Espíritu, si es que el Espíritu de Dios mora en vosotros.
10 … mas el espíritu vive a causa de la justicia.
11 Y si el Espíritu de aquel que levantó de los muertos a Jesús mora en vosotros, el que levantó de los muertos a Cristo Jesús vivificará también vuestros cuerpos mortales por su Espíritu que mora en vosotros.

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
10 …the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Las Escrituras dan a entender que Dios es Todo-en-todo. De eso se deduce que nada posee realidad ni existencia excepto la Mente divina y Sus ideas. Las Escrituras también declaran que Dios es Espíritu. Por lo tanto, en el Espíritu todo es armonía y no puede haber discordancia; todo es Vida y no hay muerte.
The Scriptures imply that God is All-in-all. From this it follows that nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas. The Scriptures also declare that God is Spirit. Therefore in Spirit all is harmony, and there can be no discord; all is Life, and there is no death.
El Espíritu es la vida, la sustancia y la continuidad de todas las cosas.
Spirit is the life, substance, and continuity of all things.
Pregunta. — ¿Cuál es la declaración científica del ser?
Respuesta. — No hay vida, verdad, inteligencia ni sustancia en la materia. Todo es Mente infinita y su manifestación infinita, porque Dios es Todo-en-todo. El Espíritu es Verdad inmortal; la materia es error mortal. El Espíritu es lo real y eterno; la materia es lo irreal y temporal. El Espíritu es Dios, y el hombre es Su imagen y semejanza. Por lo tanto el hombre no es material; él es espiritual.
Question. — What is the scientific statement of being?
Answer. — There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual.
La supremacía del Espíritu era la base sobre la cual Jesús edificaba. Su resumen sublime indica la religión del Amor.
Jesús estableció en la era cristiana el precedente para todo cristianismo, toda teología y toda curación.
The supremacy of Spirit was the foundation on which Jesus built. His sublime summary points to the religion of Love.
Jesus established in the Christian era the precedent for all Christianity, theology, and healing.
Desde el comienzo hasta el fin, las Escrituras están llenas de relatos del triunfo del Espíritu, la Mente, sobre la materia. Moisés probó el poder de la Mente mediante lo que los hombres llamaron milagros; igual hicieron Josué, Elías y Eliseo. La era Cristiana fue introducida por señales y prodigios.
From beginning to end, the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over matter. Moses proved the power of Mind by what men called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha. The Christian era was ushered in with signs and wonders.
Jesús demostró la incapacidad de la corporeidad, como también la capacidad infinita del Espíritu, ayudando así al errado sentido humano a huir de sus propias convicciones y a buscar seguridad en la Ciencia divina. La razón, bien dirigida, sirve para corregir los errores de los sentidos corporales; pero el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte parecerán reales (así como las experiencias del sueño mientras dormimos parecen reales) hasta que la Ciencia de la armonía eterna del hombre les destruya su ilusión con la ininterrumpida realidad del ser científico.
Jesus demonstrated the inability of corporeality, as well as the infinite ability of Spirit, thus helping erring human sense to flee from its own convictions and seek safety in divine Science. Reason, rightly directed, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the experiences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Science of man's eternal harmony breaks their illusion with the unbroken reality of scientific being.
Hay que sacar a luz la gran verdad espiritual de que el hombre ya es, no que será, perfecto e inmortal. Tenemos que estar por siempre conscientes de la existencia, y tarde o temprano, por medio de Cristo y la Ciencia Cristiana, tendremos que vencer el pecado y la muerte. La evidencia de la inmortalidad del hombre se manifestará más, a medida que se abandonen las creencias materiales y se admitan las realidades inmortales del ser.
The great spiritual fact must be brought out that man is, not shall be, perfect and immortal. We must hold forever the consciousness of existence, and sooner or later, through Christ and Christian Science, we must master sin and death. The evidence of man's immortality will become more apparent, as material beliefs are given up and the immortal facts of being are admitted.
La consciencia construye un cuerpo mejor cuando la fe en la materia se ha vencido. Corregid la creencia material con la comprensión espiritual, y el Espíritu os formará de nuevo. Jamás volveréis a tener otro temor que no sea el de ofender a Dios, y jamás creeréis que el corazón o cualquier otra parte del cuerpo os pueda destruir.
Consciousness constructs a better body when faith in matter has been conquered. Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew. You will never fear again except to offend God, and you will never believe that heart or any portion of the body can destroy you.
Las exigencias de la Verdad son espirituales y llegan al cuerpo por medio de la Mente. El mejor intérprete de las necesidades del hombre dijo: "No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber".
La causalidad espiritual es la única cuestión a considerar, pues, más que ninguna otra, la causalidad espiritual se relaciona con el progreso humano. Nuestra época parece dispuesta a abordar ese tema, a reflexionar un tanto sobre la supremacía del Espíritu y, por lo menos, tocar el borde del manto de la Verdad.
La descripción del hombre como meramente físico o como material y espiritual a la vez —pero en todo caso dependiente de su organismo físico— es la caja de Pandora, de la cual han salido todos los males, especialmente la pérdida de la esperanza. La materia, la cual se apropia del poder divino y pretende ser un creador, es una ficción en la cual el paganismo y la lujuria han sido aprobados por la sociedad a tal grado que la humanidad se ha contagiado moralmente de ellos.
Discerniendo el opuesto espiritual de la materialidad, o sea, el camino mediante Cristo, la Verdad, el hombre reabrirá con la llave de la Ciencia divina las puertas del Paraíso, que las creencias humanas han cerrado, y se encontrará no como hombre caído, sino erguido, puro y libre, que no tiene que consultar almanaques para enterarse de las probabilidades de su vida o del tiempo, que no tiene que estudiar el cerebro para saber hasta qué punto es realmente hombre.
El dominio de la Mente sobre el universo, incluso el hombre, ya no es una cuestión discutible, sino Ciencia demostrable. Jesús ilustró el Principio divino y el poder de la Mente inmortal sanando la enfermedad y el pecado y destruyendo los fundamentos de la muerte.
Equivocando su origen y naturaleza, el hombre cree que es una mezcla de materia y Espíritu. Cree que el Espíritu se infiltra en la materia, que es transmitido por un nervio y expuesto a expulsión por la acción de la materia. ¡Lo intelectual, lo moral, lo espiritual —sí, la imagen misma de la Mente infinita— sujetos a lo que no es inteligencia!
No existe más afinidad entre la carne y el Espíritu que entre Belial y Cristo.
Las llamadas leyes de la materia no son sino falsas creencias de que la inteligencia y la vida están presentes donde la Mente no está. Esas falsas creencias son la causa ocasionante de todo pecado y enfermedad. La verdad opuesta, de que la inteligencia y la vida son espirituales, nunca materiales, destruye al pecado, a la enfermedad y a la muerte.
The demands of Truth are spiritual, and reach the body through Mind. The best interpreter of man's needs said: "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink."
Spiritual causation is the one question to be considered, for more than all others spiritual causation relates to human progress. The age seems ready to approach this subject, to ponder somewhat the supremacy of Spirit, and at least to touch the hem of Truth's garment.
The description of man as purely physical, or as both material and spiritual, — but in either case dependent upon his physical organization, — is the Pandora box, from which all ills have gone forth, especially despair. Matter, which takes divine power into its own hands and claims to be a creator, is a fiction, in which paganism and lust are so sanctioned by society that mankind has caught their moral contagion.
Through discernment of the spiritual opposite of materiality, even the way through Christ, Truth, man will reopen with the key of divine Science the gates of Paradise which human beliefs have closed, and will find himself unfallen, upright, pure, and free, not needing to consult almanacs for the probabilities either of his life or of the weather, not needing to study brainology to learn how much of a man he is.
Mind's control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science. Jesus illustrated the divine Principle and the power of immortal Mind by healing sickness and sin and destroying the foundations of death.
Mistaking his origin and nature, man believes himself to be combined matter and Spirit. He believes that Spirit is sifted through matter, carried on a nerve, exposed to ejection by the operation of matter. The intellectual, the moral, the spiritual, — yea, the image of infinite Mind, — subject to non-intelligence!
No more sympathy exists between the flesh and Spirit than between Belial and Christ.
The so-called laws of matter are nothing but false beliefs that intelligence and life are present where Mind is not. These false beliefs are the procuring cause of all sin and disease. The opposite truth, that intelligence and life are spiritual, never material, destroys sin, sickness, and death.
La individualidad espiritual del hombre jamás yerra. Es la semejanza del Hacedor del hombre. La materia no puede relacionar a los mortales con el origen verdadero del ser, ni con los hechos verdaderos del ser, en los cuales todo ha de venir a parar. Sólo reconociendo la supremacía del Espíritu, que anula las pretensiones de la materia, pueden los mortales despojarse de la mortalidad y hallar el indisoluble vínculo espiritual que establece al hombre eternamente en la semejanza divina, inseparable de su creador.
Man's spiritual individuality is never wrong. It is the likeness of man's Maker. Matter cannot connect mortals with the true origin and facts of being, in which all must end. It is only by acknowledging the supremacy of Spirit, which annuls the claims of matter, that mortals can lay off mortality and find the indissoluble spiritual link which establishes man forever in the divine likeness, inseparable from his creator.
Para tener un solo Dios y valerse del poder del Espíritu, debe amarse a Dios supremamente.
No es sabio tomar una actitud indecisa y vacilante, o tartar de valerse igualmente del Espíritu y de la materia, de la Verdad y del error. Hay un solo camino —a saber, Dios y Su idea— que nos lleva al ser espiritual. El gobierno científico del cuerpo tiene que lograrse por medio de la Mente divina. Es imposible obtener el dominio sobre el cuerpo por otro medio. En ese punto fundamental, el tímido tradicionalismo es absolutamente inadmisible. Sólo por medio de una confianza radical en la Verdad puede realizarse el poder científico de la curación.
To have one God and avail yourself of the power of Spirit, you must love God supremely.
It is not wise to take a halting and half-way position or to expect to work equally with Spirit and matter, Truth and error. There is but one way — namely, God and His idea — which leads to spiritual being. The scientific government of the body must be attained through the divine Mind. It is impossible to gain control over the body in any other way. On this fundamental point, timid conservatism is absolutely inadmissible. Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized.
La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Ejerced esa autoridad otorgada por Dios. Tomad posesión de vuestro cuerpo y regid sus sensaciones y funciones. Levantaos en la fuerza del Espíritu para resistir todo lo que sea desemejante al bien. Dios ha hecho al hombre capaz de eso, y nada puede invalidar la capacidad y el poder divinamente otorgados al hombre.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
