1. Bienaventurados los perfectos de camino, los que andan en la ley de Jehová.
2. Bienaventurados los que guardan sus testimonios, y con todo el corazón le buscan;
3. Pues no hacen iniquidad los que andan en sus caminos.
4. Tú encargaste que sean muy guardados tus mandamientos.
5. ¡Ojalá fuesen ordenados mis caminos para guardar tus estatutos!
6. Entonces no sería yo avergonzado, cuando atendiese a todos tus mandamientos.
7. Te alabaré con rectitud de corazón cuando aprendiere tus justos juicios.
1. Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord.
2. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.

6 Y circuncidará Jehová tu Dios tu corazón, y el corazón de tu descendencia, para que ames a Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, a fin de que vivas.
9 Y te hará Jehová tu Dios abundar en toda obra de tus manos,
10 Cuando obedecieres a la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar sus mandamientos y sus estatutos escritos en este libro de la ley; cuando te convirtieres a Jehová tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.
11 Porque este mandamiento que yo te ordeno hoy no es demasiado difícil para ti, ni está lejos.
6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
9 And the Lord thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand,
10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
1 De ocho años era Josías cuando comenzó a reinar,
2 Este hizo lo recto ante los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en los caminos de David su padre,
8 A los dieciocho años de su reinado, después de haber limpiado la tierra y la casa, … , para que reparasen la casa de Jehová su Dios.
14 Hilcías halló el libro de la ley de Jehová dada por medio de Moisés.
16 Y Safán lo llevó al rey

26 …mas al rey de Judá, que os ha enviado a consultar a Jehová, así le diréis: Jehová el Dios de Israel ha dicho así: Por cuanto oíste las palabras del libro,
27 Y tu corazón se conmovió, y te humillaste delante de Dios al oír sus palabras sobre este lugar y sobre sus moradores, y te humillaste delante de mí, y rasgaste tus vestidos y lloraste en mi presencia, yo también te he oído, dice Jehová.
29 Entonces el rey envió y reunió a todos los ancianos de Judá y de Jerusalén.
30 Y subió el rey a la casa de Jehová; … y leyó a oídos de ellos todas las palabras del libro del pacto que había sido hallado en la casa de Jehová.
31 Y estando el rey en pie en su sitio, hizo delante de Jehová pacto de caminar en pos de Jehová y de guardar sus mandamientos, sus testimonios y sus estatutos, con todo su corazón y con toda su alma, poniendo por obra las palabras del pacto que estaban escritas en aquel libro.
32 E hizo que se obligaran a ello todos los que estaban en Jerusalén y en Benjamín; y los moradores de Jerusalén hicieron conforme al pacto de Dios, del Dios de sus padres.
33 No se apartaron de en pos de Jehová el Dios de sus padres, todo el tiempo que él vivió.
1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign,
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father,
8 Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent … to repair the house of the Lord his God.
14 Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the Lord given by Moses.
16 And Shaphan carried the book to the king,
19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.
22 And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess,
23 And she answered them,
26 …as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard;
27 Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the Lord.
29 Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem.
30 And the king went up into the house of the Lord, … and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the Lord.
31 And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book.
32 And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers.
33 And all his days they departed not from following the Lord, the God of their fathers.
1 Entonces se acercaron a Jesús ciertos escribas y fariseos de Jerusalén, diciendo:
1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
5 ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme a la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen pan con manos inmundas?
6 Respondiendo él, les dijo: Hipócritas, bien profetizó de vosotros Isaías, como está escrito:
Este pueblo de labios me honra, mas su corazón está lejos de mí.
7 Pues en vano me honran, enseñando como doctrinas mandamientos de hombres.
8 Porque dejando el mandamiento de Dios, os aferráis a la tradición de los hombres: los lavamientos de los jarros y de los vasos de beber; y hacéis otras muchas cosas semejantes.
5 Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
28 Acercándose uno de los escribas, que los había oído disputar, y sabía que les había respondido bien, le preguntó: ¿Cuál es el primer mandamiento de todos?
29 Jesús le respondió: El primer mandamiento de todos es: Oye, Israel; el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es.
30 Y amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas. Este es el principal mandamiento.
31 Y el segundo es semejante: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No hay otro mandamiento mayor que éstos.
32 Entonces el escriba le dijo: Bien, Maestro, verdad has dicho, que uno es Dios, y no hay otro fuera de él;
33 Y el amarle con todo el corazón, con todo el entendimiento, con toda el alma, y con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo, es más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios.
34 Jesús entonces, viendo que había respondido sabiamente, le dijo: No estás lejos del reino de Dios. Y ya ninguno osaba preguntarle.
28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?
29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
32 And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
34 And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.
39 Escudriñad las Escrituras; porque a vosotros os parece que en ellas tenéis la vida eterna; y ellas son las que dan testimonio de mí;
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
3 Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que nos bendijo con toda bendición espiritual en los lugares celestiales en Cristo,
4 Según nos escogió en él antes de la fundación del mundo, para que fuésemos santos y sin mancha delante de él,
12 A fin de que seamos para alabanza de su gloria, nosotros los que primeramente esperábamos en Cristo.
13 En él también vosotros, habiendo oído la palabra de verdad, el evangelio de vuestra salvación, y habiendo creído en él, fuisteis sellados con el Espíritu Santo de la promesa,
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
… en la Ciencia Cristiana el primer deber es obedecer a Dios, tener una sola Mente, y amar al prójimo como a vosotros mismos.
…in Christian Science the first duty is to obey God, to have one Mind, and to love another as yourself.
La prueba de toda oración consiste en la respuesta a estas preguntas: ¿Amamos más a nuestro prójimo debido a este ruego? ¿Seguimos con el viejo egoísmo, satisfechos con haber orado por algo mejor, aunque no demos pruebas de la sinceridad de nuestras peticiones viviendo en conformidad con nuestra oración? Si el egoísmo se ha sometido a la bondad, seremos generosos con nuestro prójimo, y bendeciremos a los que nos maldicen; pero nunca cumpliremos con ese gran deber simplemente pidiendo que se haga. Hay una cruz que tomar antes de que podamos gozar de los frutos de nuestra fe y esperanza.
The test of all prayer lies in the answer to these questions: Do we love our neighbor better because of this asking? Do we pursue the old selfishness, satisfied with having prayed for some- thing better, though we give no evidence of the sincerity of our requests by living consistently with our prayer? If selfishness has given place to kindness, we shall regard our neighbor unselfishly, and bless them that curse us; but we shall never meet this great duty simply by asking that it may be done. There is a cross to be taken up before we can enjoy the fruition of our hope and faith.
El lema de la Ciencia Cristiana es bíblico: "Deje el impío su camino, y el hombre inicuo sus pensamientos".
Para determinar nuestro progreso, debemos saber dónde ponemos nuestros afectos y a quién reconocemos y obedecemos como Dios. Si nos estamos sintiendo más cerca del Amor divino, si nos es más amado y más real, entonces la materia se está sometiendo al Espíritu. Los objetivos que perseguimos y el espíritu que manifestamos, revelan nuestro punto de vista y muestran lo que estamos ganando.
Se reconoce que la mente mortal es la sede de los móviles humanos. Forma los conceptos materiales y produce toda acción discordante del cuerpo. Si la acción procede de la Mente divina, la acción es armoniosa. Si viene de la errada mente mortal, es discordante y acaba en pecado, enfermedad y muerte. Esas dos fuentes opuestas nunca se mezclan ni en el manantial ni en la corriente. La Mente perfecta emite perfección, pues Dios es la Mente. La mente mortal e imperfecta emite sus propias semejanzas, de las cuales dijo el sabio: "Todo es vanidad".
The watchword of Christian Science is Scriptural: "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts."
To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we acknowledge and obey as God. If divine Love is becoming nearer, dearer, and more real to us, matter is then submitting to Spirit. The objects we pursue and the spirit we manifest reveal our standpoint, and show what we are winning.
Mortal mind is the acknowledged seat of human motives. It forms material concepts and pro-duces every discordant action of the body. If action proceeds from the divine Mind, action is harmonious. If it comes from erring mortal mind, it is discordant and ends in sin, sickness, death. Those two opposite sources never mingle in fount or stream. The perfect Mind sends forth perfection, for God is Mind. Imperfect mortal mind sends forth its own resemblances, of which the wise man said, "All is vanity."
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales.
¿Estáis dispuestos a dejar todo por Cristo, por la Verdad, y a ser contados así entre pecadores? ¡No! ¿Deseáis realmente lograr ese punto? ¡No! ¿Por qué entonces hacéis largas plegarias al respecto y pedís que seáis cristianos, ya que no tenéis interés por seguir las huellas de nuestro amado Maestro? Si no estáis dispuestos a seguir su ejemplo ¿por qué rogar con los labios que podáis participar de su naturaleza? La oración consecuente es el deseo de hacer el bien. Orar significa que deseamos andar, y que andaremos, en la luz a medida que la recibamos, aunque dejemos huellas sangrientas, y que sirviendo con paciencia al Señor dejaremos que nuestros verdaderos deseos sean premiados por Él.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship.
Are you willing to leave all for Christ, for Truth, and so be counted among sinners? No! Do you really desire to attain this point? No! Then why make long prayers about it and ask to be Christians, since you do not care to tread in the footsteps of our dear Master? If unwilling to follow his example, why pray with the lips that you may be partakers of his nature? Consistent prayer is the desire to do right. Prayer means that we desire to walk and will walk in the light so far as we receive it, even though with bleeding footsteps, and that waiting patiently on the Lord, we will leave our real desires to be rewarded by Him.
¿Quién es el que exige nuestra obediencia? Aquel que, en el lenguaje de las Escrituras, "hace según Su voluntad en el ejército del cielo, y en los habitantes de la tierra, y no hay quien detenga Su mano, y Le diga: ¿Qué haces?"
Who is it that demands our obedience? He who, in the language of Scripture, "doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest Thou?"
La Verdad, la Vida y el Amor son las únicas exigencias legítimas y eternas que se le hacen al hombre, y son legisladores espirituales, que obligan a obediencia por medio de estatutos divinos.
Gobernado por la inteligencia divina, el hombre es armonioso y eterno. Todo lo que esté gobernado por una creencia falsa es discordante y mortal.
Truth, Life, and Love are the only legitimate and eternal demands on man, and they are spiritual lawgivers, enforcing obedience through divine statutes.
Controlled by the divine intelligence, man is harmonious and eternal. Whatever is governed by a false belief is discordant and mortal.
El Científico Cristiano demuestra que la Mente divina cura, mientras que el hipnotizador desposee al paciente de su individualidad para dominarle. Nadie se beneficia al entregar su mentalidad a algún despotismo o malapráctica mental. Toda práctica mental no científica es errónea y carente de poder, y debiera ser comprendida y así hecha infructífera. El Científico Cristiano genuino aumenta el poder mental y moral de su paciente, y desarrolla la espiritualidad de éste al restablecerlo físicamente por medio del Amor divino.
The Christian Scientist demonstrates that divine Mind heals, while the hypnotist dispossesses the patient of his individuality in order to control him. No person is benefited by yielding his mentality to any mental despotism or malpractice. All unscientific mental practice is erroneous and powerless, and should be understood and so rendered fruitless. The genuine Christian Scientist is adding to his patient's mental and moral power, and is increasing his patient's spirituality while restoring him physically through divine Love.
Al infringir alguna supuesta ley, decís que hay peligro. Ese temor es el peligro y produce los efectos físicos. Realmente no podemos sufrir por quebrantar nada que no sea una ley moral o espiritual. … Dios es el legislador, pero no es el autor de códigos despiadados. En la Vida y el Amor infinitos no hay enfermedad ni pecado ni muerte, y las Escrituras declaran que vivimos, nos movemos y somos en el Dios infinito.
Pensad menos en los decretos de la mente mortal, y comprenderéis más rápidamente el señorío que Dios ha otorgado al hombre. Tenéis que comprender el camino que os liberará de las teorías humanas concernientes a la salud; de lo contrario nunca sentiréis que estáis del todo libres de alguna dolencia. La armonía y la inmortalidad del hombre jamás se alcanzarán sin la comprensión de que la Mente no está en la materia. Desterremos la enfermedad como a un proscrito y acatemos la regla de la armonía perpetua —la ley de Dios. El hombre tiene el derecho moral de anular una sentencia injusta, sentencia jamás impuesta por autoridad divina.
Cristo Jesús invalidó al error que pretendía imponer penas por transgresiones de las leyes físicas en cuanto a la salud; anuló las supuestas leyes de la materia, que se oponen a la armonía del Espíritu, que carecen de autoridad divina y que tienen sólo la aprobación humana como sanción.
When infringing some supposed law, you say that there is danger. This fear is the danger and induces the physical effects. We cannot in reality suffer from breaking anything except a moral or spiritual law. … God is the lawmaker, but He is not the author of barbarous codes. In infinite Life and Love there is no sickness, sin, nor death, and the Scriptures declare that we live, move, and have our being in the infinite God.
Think less of the enactments of mortal mind, and you will sooner grasp man's God-given dominion. You must understand your way out of human theories relating to health, or you will never believe that you are quite free from some ailment. The harmony and immortality of man will never be reached without the understanding that Mind is not in matter. Let us banish sickness as an outlaw, and abide by the rule of perpetual harmony, — God's law. It is man's moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never inflicted by divine authority.
Christ Jesus overruled the error which would impose penalties for transgressions of the physical laws of health; he annulled supposed laws of matter, opposed to the harmonies of Spirit, lacking divine authority and having only human approval for their sanction.
La Mente divina es el Alma del hombre y da al hombre señorío sobre todas las cosas. El hombre no fue creado partiendo de una base material, ni ordenado a obedecer leyes materiales que el Espíritu nunca hizo; su esfera está en los estatutos espirituales, en la ley superior de la Mente.
The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things. Man was not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher law of Mind.
Cuando la humanidad comprenda esta Ciencia, será la ley de la Vida para el hombre —es decir, la ley superior del Alma, que prevalece sobre el sentido material mediante la armonía y la inmortalidad.
When humanity does understand this Science, it will become the law of Life to man, — even the higher law of Soul, which prevails over material sense through harmony and immortality.
Y solemnemente prometemos velar, y orar por que haya en nosotros aquella Mente que hubo también en Cristo Jesús; hacer con los demás lo que quisiéramos que ellos hicieren con nosotros; y ser misericordiosos, justos y puros.
And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
