1 Cuando hubo acabado Jesús todas estas palabras, dijo a sus discípulos:
2 Sabéis que dentro de dos días se celebra la pascua, y el Hijo del Hombre será entregado para ser crucificado.
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
13 Estaba cerca la pascua de los judíos; y subió Jesús a Jerusalén,
14 y halló en el templo a los que vendían bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas allí sentados.
15 Y haciendo un azote de cuerdas, echó fuera del templo a todos, y las ovejas y los bueyes; y esparció las monedas de los cambistas, y volcó las mesas;
16 y dijo a los que vendían palomas: Quitad de aquí esto, y no hagáis de la casa de mi Padre casa de mercado.
17 Entonces se acordaron sus discípulos que está escrito: El celo de tu casa me consume.
18 Y los judíos respondieron y le dijeron: ¿Qué señal nos muestras, ya que haces esto?
19 Respondió Jesús y les dijo: Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré.
21 Mas él hablaba del templo de su cuerpo.
22 Por tanto, cuando resucitó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron que había dicho esto; y creyeron la Escritura y la palabra que Jesús había dicho.
13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.
1 Muy de mañana, habiendo tenido consejo los principales sacerdotes con los ancianos, con los escribas y con todo el concilio, llevaron a Jesús atado, y le entregaron a Pilato.
1 And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate.

1 El primer día de la semana, María Magdalena fue de mañana, siendo aún oscuro, al sepulcro; y vio quitada la piedra del sepulcro.
2 Entonces corrió, y fue a Simón Pedro y al otro discípulo, aquel al que amaba Jesús, y les dijo: Se han llevado del sepulcro al Señor, y no sabemos dónde le han puesto.
3 Y salieron Pedro y el otro discípulo, y fueron al sepulcro.
5 Y bajándose a mirar, vio los lienzos puestos allí,
8 Entonces entró también el otro discípulo, que había venido primero al sepulcro; y vio, y creyó.
9 Porque aún no habían entendido la Escritura, que era necesario que él resucitase de los muertos.

16 Jesús le dijo: ¡María! Volviéndose ella, le dijo: ¡Raboni! (que quiere decir, Maestro).
19 Cuando llegó la noche de aquel mismo día, el primero de la semana, estando las puertas cerradas en el lugar donde los discípulos estaban reunidos por miedo de los judíos, vino Jesús, y puesto en medio, les dijo: Paz a vosotros.

1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
6 Entonces los que se habían reunido le preguntaron, diciendo: Señor, ¿restaurarás el reino a Israel en este tiempo?
7 Y les dijo: No os toca a vosotros saber los tiempos o las sazones, que el Padre puso en su sola potestad;
8 pero recibiréis poder, cuando haya venido sobre vosotros el Espíritu Santo, y me seréis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea, en Samaria, y hasta lo último de la tierra.
9 Y habiendo dicho estas cosas, viéndolo ellos, fue alzado, y le recibió una nube que le ocultó de sus ojos.
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

"Esta es la vida eterna", dice Jesús —dice que es, no que será— y luego define la vida eterna como el conocimiento actual de su Padre y de sí mismo —el conocimiento del Amor, la Verdad y la Vida. "Esta es la vida eterna: que Te conozcan a Ti, el único Dios verdadero, y a Jesucristo, a quien has enviado". Las Escrituras dicen: "No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios", lo que muestra que la Verdad es la vida verdadera del hombre; mas la humanidad se resiste a llevar a la práctica esa enseñanza.
"This is life eternal," says Jesus, — is, not shall be; and then he defines everlasting life as a present knowledge of his Father and of himself, — the knowledge of Love, Truth, and Life. "This is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent." The Scriptures say, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God," showing that Truth is the actual life of man; but mankind objects to making this teaching practical.
Pregunta. — ¿Qué es Vida?
Respuesta. — Vida es Principio divino, Mente, Alma, Espíritu. La Vida no tiene comienzo ni fin. La eternidad, no el tiempo, expresa la idea de la Vida, y el tiempo no es parte de la eternidad.
Question. — What is Life?
Answer. — Life is divine Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit. Life is without beginning and without end. Eternity, not time, expresses the thought of Life, and time is no part of eternity.
La Vida es Mente divina. La Vida no está limitada. La muerte y lo finito son desconocidos para la Vida.
Life is divine Mind. Life is not limited. Death and finiteness are unknown to Life.
Reconocemos que la crucifixión de Jesús y su resurrección sirvieron para elevar la fe a la comprensión de la Vida eterna, como también de la totalidad del Alma, el Espíritu, y la nada de la materia.
We acknowledge that the crucifixion of Jesus and his resurrection served to uplift faith to understand eternal Life, even the allness of Soul, Spirit, and the nothingness of matter.
El abandono de toda fe en la muerte y también del temor a su aguijón elevaría la norma de la salud y de las costumbres muy por encima de su nivel presente, y nos capacitaría para levantar en alto el estandarte del cristianismo con una fe inquebrantable en Dios, en la Vida eterna.
The relinquishment of all faith in death and also of the fear of its sting would raise the standard of health and morals far beyond its present elevation, and would enable us to hold the banner of Christianity aloft with unflinching faith in God, in Life eternal.
Nuestro Maestro reapareció a sus discípulos —según la aprehensión de ellos se levantó de la tumba— el tercer día de su pensamiento ascendente, y de esa manera les manifestó la certeza de Vida eterna.
Our Master reappeared to his students, — to their apprehension he rose from the grave, — on the third day of his ascending thought, and so presented to them the certain sense of eternal Life.
Los judíos, quienes trataron de matar a ese hombre de Dios, mostraron claramente que sus puntos de vista materiales eran la causa de sus actos malvados. Cuando Jesús habló de reproducir su cuerpo — sabiendo, como lo sabía, que la Mente era el arquitecto— y dijo: "Destruid este templo, y en tres días lo levantaré", pensaron que se refería al templo material de ellos y no al cuerpo de él. Para tales materialistas el hombre real parecía un espectro, invisible y desconocido, y el cuerpo, que pusieron en un sepulcro, parecía ser sustancia. Ese materialismo perdió de vista al Jesús verdadero; pero la fiel María le vio, y para ella representó más que nunca la idea verdadera de Vida y sustancia.
Debido a las creencias materiales y pecadoras de los mortales, el Jesús espiritual no les era perceptible. Cuanto más elevaba su demostración de la Ciencia divina al problema del ser, y cuanto más claramente proclamaba él las exigencias del Principio divino de ella, la Verdad y el Amor, tanto más odio atraía de los pecadores y de aquellos que, dependiendo de doctrinas y leyes materiales para que los salvasen del pecado y la enfermedad, se sometían a la muerte, como si ésta estuviera de acuerdo con la ley inevitable de la vida. Jesús probó con su resurrección que ellos estaban equivocados, y dijo: "Todo aquel que vive y cree en mí, no morirá eternamente”.
The Jews, who sought to kill this man of God, showed plainly that their material views were the parents of their wicked deeds. When Jesus spoke of reproducing his body, — knowing, as he did, that Mind was the builder, — and said, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up," they thought that he meant their material temple instead of his body. To such materialists, the real man seemed a spectre, unseen and unfamiliar, and the body, which they laid in a sepulchre, seemed to be substance. This materialism lost sight of the true Jesus; but the faithful Mary saw him, and he presented to her, more than ever before, the true idea of Life and substance.
Because of mortals' material and sinful belief, the spiritual Jesus was imperceptible to them. The higher his demonstration of divine Science carried the problem of being, and the more distinctly he uttered the demands of its divine Principle, Truth and Love, the more odious he became to sinners and to those who, depending on doctrines and material laws to save them from sin and sickness, were submissive to death as being in supposed accord with the inevitable law of life. Jesus proved them wrong by his resurrection, and said: "Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."
El origen y la comprensión espirituales de Jesús le capacitaron para demostrar las realidades del ser —para probar de manera irrefutable cómo la Verdad espiritual destruye al error material, sana a la enfermedad y vence a la muerte.
Jesus' spiritual origin and understanding enabled him to demonstrate the facts of being, — to prove irrefutably how spiritual Truth destroys material error, heals sickness, and overcomes death.
El Maestro dijo claramente que lo físico no era Espíritu, y después de su resurrección demostró a los sentidos carnales que su cuerpo no había cambiado antes de su ascensión, o, en otras palabras, antes de que se elevara más en su comprensión del Espíritu, Dios.
El estado físico inalterado de Jesús, después de lo que pareció ser su muerte, fue seguido por su exaltación sobre todas las condiciones materiales; y esta exaltación explicó su ascensión y reveló inequívocamente el estado probatorio y progresivo más allá de la tumba. Jesús fue "el camino"; esto es, mostró el camino para todos. En su demostración final, llamada la ascensión, que concluyó su historia terrenal, Jesús se elevó más allá de la percepción física de sus discípulos, y los sentidos materiales no le vieron más.
Sus discípulos recibieron entonces al Espíritu Santo. Eso significa que por todo lo que habían presenciado y sufrido fueron despertados a una comprensión más amplia de la Ciencia divina, o sea, la interpretación y el discernimiento espirituales de las enseñanzas y demostraciones de Jesús, comprensión que les dio un tenue concepto de la Vida que es Dios.
The Master said plainly that physique was not Spirit, and after his resurrection he proved to the physical senses that his body was not changed until he himself ascended, — or, in other words, rose even higher in the understanding of Spirit, God.
Jesus' unchanged physical condition after what seemed to be death was followed by his exaltation above all material conditions; and this exaltation explained his ascension, and revealed unmistakably a probationary and progressive state beyond the grave. Jesus was "the way;" that is, he marked the way for all men. In his final demonstration, called the ascension, which closed the earthly record of Jesus, he rose above the physical knowledge of his disciples, and the material senses saw him no more.
His students then received the Holy Ghost. By this is meant, that by all they had witnessed and suffered, they were roused to an enlarged understanding of divine Science, even to the spiritual interpretation and discernment of Jesus' teachings and demonstrations, which gave them a faint conception of the Life which is God.
Por todo lo que experimentaron los discípulos se espiritualizaron más y comprendieron mejor lo que el Maestro había enseñado. Su resurrección fue también la resurrección de ellos. Les ayudó a elevarse a sí mismos y a elevar a otros del embotamiento espiritual y de la fe ciega en Dios a la percepción de posibilidades infinitas. Necesitaban esa vivificación, pues pronto su querido Maestro iba a elevarse de nuevo en el reino spiritual de la realidad y ascender mucho más alto que la percepción de ellos. Como recompensa a su fidelidad, él iba a desaparecer para los sentidos materiales, en aquel cambio que desde entonces se ha llamado la ascensión.
Through all the disciples experienced, they became more spiritual and understood better what the Master had taught. His resurrection was also their resurrection. It helped them to raise themselves and others from spiritual dulness and blind belief in God into the perception of infinite possibilities. They needed this quickening, for soon their dear Master would rise again in the spiritual realm of reality, and ascend far above their apprehension. As the reward for his faithfulness, he would disappear to material sense in that change which has since been called the ascension.
En nuestra época el cristianismo está demostrando de nuevo el poder del Principio divino, como lo hizo hace más de mil novecientos años, sanando a los enfermos y triunfando sobre la muerte.
En el sagrado santuario de la Verdad hay voces de solemne significación, pero no les hacemos caso. Sólo cuando los llamados placeres y dolores de los sentidos desaparecen de nuestra vida, encontramos señales indudables del entierro del error y de la resurrección a la vida espiritual.
In our age Christianity is again demonstrating the power of divine Principle, as it did over nineteen hundred years ago, by healing the sick and triumphing over death.
In the sacred sanctuary of Truth are voices of solemn import, but we heed them not. It is only when the so-called pleasures and pains of sense pass away in our lives, that we find unquestionable signs of the burial of error and the resurrection to spiritual life.
La Verdad será para nosotros "la resurrección y la vida" sólo cuando destruya todo error y la creencia de que la Mente, la única inmortalidad del hombre, pueda estar encadenada por el cuerpo, y la Vida gobernada por la muerte.
Para la mente mortal, la materia es sustancia y el mal es real.
Esa mentalidad material y carnal, falsamente denominada mente, es mortal. Por tanto, el hombre sería aniquilado, si no fuera por el vínculo indisoluble del hombre real y espiritual con su Dios, el cual Jesús reveló. En su resurrección y ascensión, Jesús demostró que el hombre mortal no es la esencia real del hombre y que esa mortalidad material e irreal desaparece en presencia de la realidad.
Truth will be to us "the resurrection and the life" only as it destroys all error and the belief that Mind, the only immortality of man, can be fettered by the body, and Life be controlled by death.
To mortal mind, matter is substantial, and evil is real.
This carnal material mentality, misnamed mind, is mortal. Therefore man would be annihilated, were it not for the spiritual real man's indissoluble connection with his God, which Jesus brought to light. In his resurrection and ascension, Jesus showed that a mortal man is not the real essence of manhood, and that this unreal material mortality disappears in presence of the reality.
La Verdad demostrada es vida eterna.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
