“Torre fuerte es el nombre de Jehová; A él correrá el justo, y será levantado.”
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.”
1. Acontecerá que si oyeres atentamente la voz de Jehová tu Dios, para guardar y poner por obra todos sus mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy, también Jehová tu Dios te exaltará sobre todas las naciones de la tierra.
2. Y vendrán sobre ti todas estas bendiciones, y te alcanzarán, si oyeres la voz de Jehová tu Dios.
3. Bendito serás tú en la ciudad, y bendito tú en el campo.
4. Bendito el fruto de tu vientre, el fruto de tu tierra, el fruto de tus bestias, la cría de tus vacas y los rebaños de tus ovejas.
5. Benditas serán tu canasta y tu artesa de amasar.
6. Bendito serás en tu entrar, y bendito en tu salir.
9. Te confirmará Jehová por pueblo santo suyo, como te lo ha jurado, cuando guardares los mandamientos de Jehová tu Dios, y anduvieres en sus caminos.
1. And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments:
2. All these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

1 Como el ciervo brama por las corrientes de las aguas, Así clama por ti, oh Dios, el alma mía.
2 Mi alma tiene sed de Dios, del Dios vivo;
3 Fueron mis lágrimas mi pan de día y de noche, Mientras me dicen todos los días: ¿Dónde está tu Dios?
8 Pero de día mandará Jehová su misericordia, Y de noche su cántico estará conmigo, Y mi oración al Dios de mi vida.
11 ¿Por qué te abates, oh alma mía, Y por qué te turbas dentro de mí? Espera en Dios; porque aún he de alabarle, Salvación mía y Dios mío.
1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God:
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
8 Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
20 Y tomó su amo a José, y lo puso en la cárcel, donde estaban los presos del rey, y estuvo allí en la cárcel.
21 Pero Jehová estaba con José y le extendió su misericordia,
20 Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

1 Aconteció que pasados dos años tuvo Faraón un sueño.
9 Entonces el jefe de los coperos habló a Faraón, diciendo:
12 Estaba allí con nosotros un joven hebreo, … y él nos interpretó nuestros sueños,
14 Entonces Faraón envió y llamó a José. Y lo sacaron apresuradamente de la cárcel,

2 ¿Quién despertó del oriente al justo, lo llamó para que le siguiese, entregó delante de él naciones, y le hizo enseñorear de reyes?
4 ¿Quién hizo y realizó esto? ¿Quién llama las generaciones desde el principio? Yo Jehová, el primero, y yo mismo con los postreros.
8 Pero tú, Israel, siervo mío eres; tú, Jacob, a quien yo escogí, descendencia de Abraham mi amigo.
9 Porque te tomé de los confines de la tierra, y de tierras lejanas te llamé, y te dije: Mi siervo eres tú; te escogí, y no te deseché.
10 No temas, porque yo estoy contigo; no desmayes, porque yo soy tu Dios que te esfuerzo; siempre te ayudaré, siempre te sustentaré con la diestra de mi justicia.

2 Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings?

1 Seis días antes de la pascua, vino Jesús a Betania, donde estaba Lázaro, el que había estado muerto, y a quien había resucitado de los muertos.
20 Había ciertos griegos entre los que habían subido a adorar en la fiesta.
23 Jesús les respondió diciendo:
26 Si alguno me sirve, sígame; y donde yo estuviere, allí también estará mi servidor. Si alguno me sirviere, mi Padre le honrará.

28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
8 Felipe le dijo: Señor, muéstranos el Padre, y nos basta.
9 Jesús le dijo: ¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con vosotros, y no me has conocido, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre; ¿cómo, pues, dices tú: Muéstranos el Padre?
10 ¿No crees que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí? Las palabras que yo os hablo, no las hablo por mi propia cuenta, sino que el Padre que mora en mí, él hace las obras.
11 Creedme que yo soy en el Padre, y el Padre en mí; de otra manera, creedme por las mismas obras.
12 De cierto, de cierto os digo: El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también; y aun mayores hará, porque yo voy al Padre.

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

6 Porque Dios, que mandó que de las tinieblas resplandeciese la luz, es el que resplandeció en nuestros corazones, para iluminación del conocimiento de la gloria de Dios en la faz de Jesucristo.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
…la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor son todopoderosos y están siempre presentes;
Life, Truth, and Love are all-powerful and ever-present;
Cuando el hombre es gobernado por Dios, la Mente siempre presente que comprende todas las cosas, el hombre sabe que para Dios todas las cosas son posibles. El único camino que conduce a esa Verdad viviente, que sana a los enfermos, se halla en la Ciencia de la Mente divina, como la enseñó y demostró Cristo Jesús.
When man is governed by God, the ever-present Mind who understands all things, man knows that with God all things are possible. The only way to this living Truth, which heals the sick, is found in the Science of divine Mind as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus.
Pregunta. — ¿Cómo puedo progresar más rápidamente en la comprensión de la Ciencia Cristiana?
Respuesta. — Estúdiese a fondo la letra y embébase el espíritu. Adhiérase al Principio divino de la Ciencia Cristiana y acátense los mandatos de Dios, morando firmemente en la sabiduría, la Verdad y el Amor. En la Ciencia de la Mente, pronto comprobaréis que el error no puede destruir al error. Aprenderéis también que en la Ciencia no se pueden transmitir sugestiones malévolas de un mortal a otro, pues hay una sola Mente, y esa Mente omnipotente y siempre presente es reflejada por el hombre y gobierna al universo entero. Aprenderéis que en la Ciencia Cristiana el primer deber es obedecer a Dios, tener una sola Mente, y amar al prójimo como a vosotros mismos.
Todos tenemos que aprender que la Vida es Dios. Preguntaos: ¿Estoy viviendo la vida que más se acerca al bien supremo? ¿Estoy demostrando el poder sanador de la Verdad y el Amor? Si es así, entonces el camino se irá iluminando cada vez más, "hasta que el día es perfecto". Vuestros frutos probarán lo que el comprender a Dios le trae al hombre.
Question. — How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?
Answer. — Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit. Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love. In the Science of Mind, you will soon ascertain that error cannot destroy error. You will also learn that in Science there is no transfer of evil suggestions from one mortal to another, for there is but one Mind, and this ever-present omnipotent Mind is reflected by man and governs the entire universe. You will learn that in Christian Science the first duty is to obey God, to have one Mind, and to love another as yourself.
We all must learn that Life is God. Ask yourself: Am I living the life that approaches the supreme good? Am I demonstrating the healing power of Truth and Love? If so, then the way will grow brighter "unto the perfect day." Your fruits will prove what the understanding of God brings to man.
El mantenerte superior al pecado, porque Dios te hizo superior al pecado y gobierna al hombre, es verdadera sabiduría. Temer el pecado es comprender mal el poder del Amor y la Ciencia divina del ser en la relación del hombre con Dios —dudar de Su gobierno y desconfiar de Su cuidado omnipotente. El mantenerte superior a la enfermedad y la muerte es igualmente sabio y está de acuerdo con la Ciencia divina. Es imposible temerlas cuando se comprende cabalmente a Dios y se reconoce que no forman parte de Su creación.
A menos que un mal se combata como es debido y se venza enteramente por la Verdad, el mal nunca será vencido. … Si Dios no sana a los enfermos, éstos no se sanan, pues no hay poder inferior que se iguale al Todo-poder infinito; pero Dios, Verdad, Vida, Amor, sí sana a los enfermos por medio de la oración del justo.
To hold yourself superior to sin, because God made you superior to it and governs man, is true wisdom. To fear sin is to misunderstand the power of Love and the divine Science of being in man's relation to God, — to doubt His government and distrust His omnipotent care. To hold yourself superior to sickness and death is equally wise, and is in accordance with divine Science. To fear them is impossible, when you fully apprehend God and know that they are no part of His creation.
Unless an ill is rightly met and fairly overcome by Truth, the ill is never conquered. … If God heals not the sick, they are not healed, for no lesser power equals the infinite All-power; but God, Truth, Life, Love, does heal the sick through the prayer of the righteous.
¿Cuáles son los motivos para orar? ¿Oramos para mejorarnos o para beneficiar a los que nos oyen, para iluminar al infinito o para ser oídos por los hombres? ¿Nos beneficiamos con la oración? Sí, el deseo que se eleva, hambriento de justicia, es bendecido por nuestro Padre, y no vuelve a nosotros vacío.
What are the motives for prayer? Do we pray to make ourselves better or to benefit those who hear us, to enlighten the infinite or to be heard of men? Are we benefited by praying? Yes, the desire which goes forth hungering after righteousness is blessed of our Father, and it does not return unto us void.
Si no anhelamos en lo secreto y no luchamos abiertamente por lograr todo lo que pedimos, nuestras oraciones son "vanas repeticiones", tales como las que usan los gentiles. Si nuestras peticiones son sinceras, nos esforzamos por lograr lo que pedimos; y nuestro Padre, que ve en lo secreto, nos recompensará en público. ¿Acaso la mera expression pública de nuestros deseos puede intensificarlos? ¿Ganamos el oído omnipotente más pronto con palabras que con pensamientos? Aunque la oración sea sincera, Dios sabe de lo que tenemos necesidad, antes de que se lo digamos a Él o a nuestros semejantes. Si sincera, callada y humildemente abrigamos el deseo, Dios lo bendecirá, y correremos menos riesgo de abrumar nuestros deseos verdaderos con un torrente de palabras.
If we are not secretly yearning and openly striving for the accomplishment of all we ask, our prayers are "vain repetitions," such as the heathen use. If our petitions are sincere, we labor for what we ask; and our Father, who seeth in secret, will reward us openly. Can the mere public expression of our desires increase them? Do we gain the omnipotent ear sooner by words than by thoughts? Even if prayer is sincere, God knows our need before we tell Him or our fellow-beings about it. If we cherish the desire honestly and silently and humbly, God will bless it, and we shall incur less risk of overwhelming our real wishes with a torrent of words.
Los efectos de la Ciencia Cristiana se ven menos de lo que se sienten. Es la "voz callada y suave"de la Verdad, expresándose. O bien nos estamos alejando de esa expresión, o la estamos escuchando y elevándonos.
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher.
A menos que la armonía y la inmortalidad del hombre se evidencien más, no estamos ganando la verdadera idea de Dios; y el cuerpo reflejará lo que lo gobierna, ya sea la Verdad o el error, la comprensión o la creencia, el Espíritu o la materia. Por lo tanto "Vuelve ahora en amistad con Él, y tendrás paz". Sé alerta, sobrio y vigilante. El camino que lleva a la comprensión de que Dios es la única Vida, es recto y angosto. Es una lucha con la carne, lucha en la que tenemos que vencer al pecado, a la enfermedad y a la muerte, ya sea aquí o en el más allá —pero ciertamente antes que podamos alcanzar la meta del Espíritu, o la vida en Dios.
Unless the harmony and immortality of man are becoming more apparent, we are not gaining the true idea of God; and the body will reflect what governs it, whether it be Truth or error, understanding or belief, Spirit or matter. Therefore "acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace." Be watchful, sober, and vigilant. The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life. It is a warfare with the flesh, in which we must conquer sin, sickness, and death, either here or hereafter, — certainly before we can reach the goal of Spirit, or life in God.
El propósito y el motivo de vivir rectamente pueden lograrse ahora. Una vez logrado ese punto, habréis comenzado como debíais. Habréis comenzado por la tabla de sumar de la Ciencia Cristiana, y nada, salvo una mala intención, puede impedir vuestro progreso. Si trabajáis y oráis con móviles sinceros, vuestro Padre os abrirá el camino. "¿Quién os estorbó para no obedecer a la verdad?"
The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now. This point won, you have started as you should. You have begun at the numeration-table of Christian Science, and nothing but wrong intention can hinder your advancement. Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way. "Who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?"
A medida que los mortales abandonen la ilusión de que hay más de una Mente, más de un Dios, el hombre a semejanza de Dios aparecerá, y ese hombre eterno no incluirá en esa semejanza elemento material alguno.
A medida que se descubra que una base de vida material y teórica es un concepto erróneo acerca de la existencia, el Principio espiritual y divino del hombre alboreará en el pensamiento humano y lo guiará a "donde estaba el niño" —al nacimiento de una idea antigua y nueva a la vez, al sentido espiritual del ser y de lo que la Vida incluye. Así, alada de luz, la Verdad transformará toda la tierra, disipando las tinieblas del error.
El pensamiento humano tiene que liberarse de la materialidad y esclavitud que se ha impuesto a sí mismo.
As mortals give up the delusion that there is more than one Mind, more than one God, man in God's likeness will appear, and this eternal man will include in that likeness no material element.
As a material, theoretical life-basis is found to be a misapprehension of existence, the spiritual and divine Principle of man dawns upon human thought, and leads it to "where the young child was," — even to the birth of a new-old idea, to the spiritual sense of being and of what Life includes. Thus the whole earth will be transformed by Truth on its pinions of light, chasing away the darkness of error.
The human thought must free itself from self-imposed materiality and bondage.
El Principio divino y la idea divina constituyen la armonía espiritual —los cielos y la eternidad. En el universo de la Verdad, no se conoce materia. Ninguna suposición de error penetra allí. La Ciencia divina, la Palabra de Dios, dice a las tinieblas sobre la faz del error: "Dios es Todo-en-todo", y la luz del Amor siempre presente ilumina al universo. De ahí la eterna maravilla —que el espacio infinito esté poblado de las ideas de Dios, que Le reflejan en incontables formas espirituales.
The divine Principle and idea constitute spiritual harmony, — heaven and eternity. In the universe of Truth, matter is unknown. No supposition of error enters there. Divine Science, the Word of God, saith to the darkness upon the face of error, "God is All-in-all," and the light of ever-present Love illumines the universe. Hence the eternal wonder, — that infinite space is peopled with God's ideas, reflecting Him in countless spiritual forms.
El hombre y su Hacedor están correlacionados en la Ciencia divina, y la consciencia verdadera sólo tiene conocimiento de las cosas de Dios.
Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
