“Ve y toma el librito que está abierto en la mano del ángel que está en pie sobre el mar y sobre la tierra.”
“Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.”
1. Vi descender del cielo a otro ángel fuerte, envuelto en una nube, con el arco iris sobre su cabeza; y su rostro era como el sol, y sus pies como columnas de fuego.
2. Tenía en su mano un librito abierto; y puso su pie derecho sobre el mar, y el izquierdo sobre la tierra;
3. y clamó a gran voz, como ruge un león; y cuando hubo clamado, siete truenos emitieron sus voces.
4. Cuando los siete truenos hubieron emitido sus voces, yo iba a escribir; pero oí una voz del cielo que me decía: Sella las cosas que los siete truenos han dicho, y no las escribas.
9. Y fui al ángel, diciéndole que me diese el librito. Y él me dijo: Toma, y cómelo; y te amargará el vientre, pero en tu boca será dulce como la miel.
10. Entonces tomé el librito de la mano del ángel, y lo comí; y era dulce en mi boca como la miel, pero cuando lo hube comido, amargó mi vientre.
11. Y él me dijo: Es necesario que profetices otra vez sobre muchos pueblos, naciones, lenguas y reyes.

9. And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10. And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11. And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
1 Antes de la fiesta de la pascua, sabiendo Jesús que su hora había llegado para que pasase de este mundo al Padre, como había amado a los suyos que estaban en el mundo, los amó hasta el fin.
31 Entonces, cuando hubo salido, dijo Jesús: Ahora es glorificado el Hijo del Hombre, y Dios es glorificado en él.
32 Si Dios es glorificado en él, Dios también le glorificará en sí mismo, y en seguida le glorificará.
33 Hijitos, aún estaré con vosotros un poco. Me buscaréis; pero como dije a los judíos, así os digo ahora a vosotros: A donde yo voy, vosotros no podéis ir.

1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

5 Le dijo Tomás: Señor, no sabemos a dónde vas; ¿cómo, pues, podemos saber el camino?
6 Jesús le dijo: Yo soy el camino, y la verdad, y la vida; nadie viene al Padre, sino por mí.

2 Diré yo a Jehová: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; Mi Dios, en quien confiaré.
3 Él te librará del lazo del cazador, De la peste destructora.
4 Con sus plumas te cubrirá, Y debajo de sus alas estarás seguro; Escudo y adarga es su verdad.
5 No temerás el terror nocturno, Ni saeta que vuele de día,

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Jesús estableció su iglesia y mantuvo su misión sobre la base espiritual de la curación mediante el Cristo. Enseñó a sus seguidores que su religión tenía un Principio divino que podía expulsar al error y sanar tanto al enfermo como al pecador. No pretendió tener inteligencia, acción, ni vida separadas de Dios. A pesar de la persecución que eso le ocasionó, utilizó su poder divino para salvar a los hombres tanto corporal como espiritualmente.
Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and the sinning. He claimed no intelligence, action, nor life separate from God. Despite the persecution this brought upon him, he used his divine power to save men both bodily and spiritually.
Nuestro Maestro sanó a los enfermos, es decir, practicó la curación cristiana, y enseñó a sus discípulos las generalidades del Principio divino de dicha curación, pero no dejó una regla precisa para demostrar ese Principio de la curación y prevención de la enfermedad. Esa regla habría de descubrirse en la Ciencia Cristiana.
Our Master healed the sick, practised Christian healing, and taught the generalities of its divine Principle to his students; but he left no definite rule for demonstrating this Principle of healing and preventing disease. This rule remained to be discovered in Christian Science.
En el año 1866 descubrí la Ciencia del Cristo o las leyes divinas de la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor, y nombré mi descubrimiento Christian Science. Dios bondadosamente me había estado preparando durante muchos años para que recibiera esta revelación final del Principio divino absoluto de la curación mental científica.
In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.
Durante tres años, después de mi descubrimiento, busqué la solución de ese problema de la curación por la Mente, escudriñé las Escrituras y leí poco de otras cosas, me mantuve alejada de la vida social y dediqué tiempo y energías al descubrimiento de una regla positiva. La búsqueda fue dulce, tranquila, animada por la esperanza, no egoísta ni deprimente. Yo sabía que el Principio de toda acción armoniosa de la Mente es Dios y que las curaciones se producían en los primeros tiempos de la curación cristiana mediante una fe santa y enaltecedora; pero tenía que conocer la Ciencia de esa curación, y llegué a conclusiones absolutas mediante la revelación divina, la razón y la demostración. La revelación de la Verdad en mi entendimiento me vino gradualmente, y evidentemente gracias al poder divino.
For three years after my discovery, I sought the solution of this problem of Mind-healing, searched the Scriptures and read little else, kept aloof from society, and devoted time and energies to discovering a positive rule. The search was sweet, calm, and buoyant with hope, not selfish nor depressing. I knew the Principle of all harmonious Mind-action to be God, and that cures were produced in primitive Christian healing by holy, uplifting faith; but I must know the Science of this healing, and I won my way to absolute conclusions through divine revelation, reason, and demonstration. The revelation of Truth in the understanding came to me gradually and apparently through divine power.
La palabra Ciencia, correctamente comprendida, se refiere únicamente a las leyes de Dios y a Su gobierno del universo, incluso el hombre. De eso se deduce que los hombres de negocios y los cultos eruditos han encontrado que la Ciencia Cristiana les aumenta su resistencia y sus poderes mentales, les amplía su discernimiento del carácter, los dota de agudeza y de amplitud de comprensión, y los habilita para exceder su capacidad usual. La mente humana, imbuida de esa comprensión espiritual, se vuelve más elástica, es capaz de mayor resistencia, se libera en cierto grado de sí misma y necesita de menos reposo. Un conocimiento de la Ciencia del ser desarrolla las habilidades y posibilidades latentes del hombre. Extiende la atmósfera del pensamiento, dando a los mortales acceso a regiones más amplias y más altas. Eleva al pensador a su ambiente natural de discernimiento.
The term Science, properly understood, refers only to the laws of God and to His government of the universe, inclusive of man. From this it follows that business men and cultured scholars have found that Christian Science enhances their endurance and mental powers, enlarges their perception of character, gives them acuteness and comprehensiveness and an ability to exceed their ordinary capacity. The human mind, imbued with this spiritual understanding, becomes more elastic, is capable of greater endurance, escapes somewhat from itself, and requires less repose. A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity.
La oración que reforma al pecador y sana al enfermo es una fe absoluta en que todas las cosas son posibles para Dios — una comprensión espiritual de Él, un amor desinteresado.
The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God, — a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love.
La Ciencia Cristiana despierta al pecador, rescata al incrédulo y levanta del lecho de dolor al enfermo desvalido. A los mudos les habla las palabras de la Verdad, y ellos responden con regocijo. Hace que el sordo oiga, que el cojo ande y que el ciego vea. ¿Quién sería el primero en negar que las buenas obras manifiestan el Cristo, cuando nuestro Maestro dice: "Por sus frutos los conoceréis"?
Christian Science awakens the sinner, reclaims the infidel, and raises from the couch of pain the helpless invalid. It speaks to the dumb the words of Truth, and they answer with rejoicing. It causes the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, and the blind to see. Who would be the first to disown the Christliness of good works, when our Master says, "By their fruits ye shall know them"?
La Ciencia Cristiana es la ley de la Verdad, que sana a los enfermos sobre la base de la Mente única, o sea Dios. No puede sanar de ningún otro modo, ya que la llamada mente humana y mortal no es un sanador, sino que causa la creencia en la enfermedad.
Christian Science is the law of Truth, which heals the sick on the basis of the one Mind or God. It can heal in no other way, since the human, mortal mind so-called is not a healer, but causes the belief in disease.
Desde que la autora descubrió el poder de la Verdad en el tratamiento tanto de la enfermedad como del pecado, su sistema ha sido puesto a prueba plenamente, sin encontrársele deficiencia alguna; mas para alcanzar las alturas de la Ciencia Cristiana, el hombre tiene que vivir en obediencia al Principio divino de esa Ciencia.
Since the author's discovery of the might of Truth in the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has been fully tested and has not been found wanting; but to reach the heights of Christian Science, man must live in obedience to its divine Principle.
Después de su sagrado descubrimiento, la autora puso el nombre "Ciencia" al cristianismo, el nombre "error" al sentido corporal y el nombre "sustancia" a la Mente. La Ciencia ha emplazado al mundo sobre ese punto y su demostración, que sana a los enfermos, destruye el error y revela la armonía universal. A aquellos Científicos Cristianos naturales, los antiguos patriarcas, y a Cristo Jesús, Dios por cierto les reveló el espíritu de la Ciencia Cristiana, si no la letra absoluta.
Debido a que la Ciencia de la Mente parece desacreditar las escuelas científicas corrientes, que luchan sólo con observaciones materiales, esa Ciencia ha encontrado oposición; pero si algún sistema honra a Dios, debiera recibir ayuda, no oposición, de parte de todos los pensadores. Y la Ciencia Cristiana sí honra a Dios como ninguna otra teoría Le honra, y eso lo hace de la manera designada por Él, llevando a cabo muchas obras maravillosas por medio del nombre y la naturaleza divinos. Tiene uno que cumplir su misión sin timidez ni disimulo, pues si la obra ha de quedar bien hecha, ha de hacerse desinteresadamente. El cristianismo jamás estará basado sobre un Principio divino y por consiguiente jamás se hallará que es infalible, hasta que se llegue a su Ciencia absoluta. Cuando eso se logre, ni el orgullo ni el prejuicio ni la intolerancia ni la envidia podrán minar sus cimientos, porque está edificado sobre la roca, Cristo.
After the author's sacred discovery, she affixed the name "Science" to Christianity, the name "error" to corporeal sense, and the name "substance" to Mind. Science has called the world to battle over this issue and its demonstration, which heals the sick, destroys error, and reveals the universal harmony. To those natural Christian Scientists, the ancient worthies, and to Christ Jesus, God certainly revealed the spirit of Christian Science, if not the absolute letter.
Because the Science of Mind seems to bring into dishonor the ordinary scientific schools, which wrestle with material observations alone, this Science has met with opposition; but if any system honors God, it ought to receive aid, not opposition, from all thinking persons. And Christian Science does honor God as no other theory honors Him, and it does this in the way of His appointing, by doing many wonderful works through the divine name and nature. One must fulfil one's mission without timidity or dissimulation, for to be well done, the work must be done unselfishly. Christianity will never be based on a divine Principle and so found to be unerring, until its absolute Science is reached. When this is accomplished, neither pride, prejudice, bigotry, nor envy can wash away its foundation, for it is built upon the rock, Christ.
La idea inmortal de la Verdad recorre los siglos, cobijando bajo sus alas a enfermos y pecadores. Mi esperanza cansada trata de ver la realización de ese día feliz en que el hombre reconocerá la Ciencia del Cristo y amará a su prójimo como a sí mismo —en que comprenderá la omnipotencia de Dios y el poder sanador del Amor divino en lo que ha hecho y está haciendo por la humanidad. Las promesas se cumplirán. La hora de la reaparición de la curación divina se presenta en todo tiempo; y quienquiera que ponga su todo terrenal sobre el altar de la Ciencia divina, bebe ahora de la copa del Cristo y es dotado del espíritu y del poder de la curación cristiana.
En las palabras de San Juan: "Os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre". Entiendo que ese Consolador es la Ciencia Divina.
Truth's immortal idea is sweeping down the centuries, gathering beneath its wings the sick and sinning. My weary hope tries to realize that happy day, when man shall recognize the Science of Christ and love his neighbor as himself, — when he shall realize God's omnipotence and the healing power of the divine Love in what it has done and is doing for mankind. The promises will be fulfilled. The time for the reappearing of the divine healing is throughout all time; and whosoever layeth his earthly all on the altar of divine Science, drinketh of Christ's cup now, and is endued with the spirit and power of Christian healing.
In the words of St. John: "He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever." This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
