Leccion Sermon
1 Oídme, los que seguís la justicia, los que buscáis a Jehová. Mirad a la piedra de donde fuisteis cortados, y al hueco de la cantera de donde fuisteis arrancados.
3 Ciertamente consolará Jehová a Sion; consolará todas sus soledades, y cambiará su desierto en paraíso, y su soledad en huerto de Jehová; se hallará en ella alegría y gozo, alabanza y voces de canto.
4 Estad atentos a mí, pueblo mío, y oídme, nación mía; porque de mí saldrá la ley, y mi justicia para luz de los pueblos.
5 Cercana está mi justicia, ha salido mi salvación, y mis brazos juzgarán a los pueblos; a mí me esperan los de la costa, y en mi brazo ponen su esperanza.
11 Ciertamente volverán los redimidos de Jehová; volverán a Sion cantando, y gozo perpetuo habrá sobre sus cabezas; tendrán gozo y alegría, y el dolor y el gemido huirán.

10 Y he aquí había allí uno que tenía seca una mano; y preguntaron a Jesús, para poder acusarle: ¿Es lícito sanar en el día de reposo?
11 Él les dijo: ¿Qué hombre habrá de vosotros, que tenga una oveja, y si esta cayere en un hoyo en día de reposo, no le eche mano, y la levante?
12 Pues ¿cuánto más vale un hombre que una oveja? Por consiguiente, es lícito hacer el bien en los días de reposo.
13 Entonces dijo a aquel hombre: Extiende tu mano. Y él la extendió, y le fue restaurada sana como la otra.
14 Y salidos los fariseos, tuvieron consejo contra Jesús para destruirle.

10 And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
13 Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
14 Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
15 But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
19 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
20 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
23 Cuando vino al templo, los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo se acercaron a él mientras enseñaba, y le dijeron: ¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas? ¿y quién te dio esta autoridad?
24 Respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Yo también os haré una pregunta, y si me la contestáis, también yo os diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
25 El bautismo de Juan, ¿de dónde era? ¿Del cielo, o de los hombres? Ellos entonces discutían entre sí, diciendo: Si decimos, del cielo, nos dirá: ¿Por qué, pues, no le creísteis?
26 Y si decimos, de los hombres, tememos al pueblo; porque todos tienen a Juan por profeta.
27 Y respondiendo a Jesús, dijeron: No sabemos. Y él también les dijo: Tampoco yo os digo con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
24 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
27 And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
1 Levántate, resplandece; porque ha venido tu luz, y la gloria de Jehová ha nacido sobre ti.
2 Porque he aquí que tinieblas cubrirán la tierra, y oscuridad las naciones; mas sobre ti amanecerá Jehová, y sobre ti será vista su gloria.
3 Y andarán las naciones a tu luz, y los reyes al resplandor de tu nacimiento.
18 Nunca más se oirá en tu tierra violencia, destrucción ni quebrantamiento en tu territorio, sino que a tus muros llamarás Salvación, y a tus puertas Alabanza.
19 El sol nunca más te servirá de luz para el día, ni el resplandor de la luna te alumbrará, sino que Jehová te será por luz perpetua, y el Dios tuyo por tu gloria.
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

8 Porque en otro tiempo erais tinieblas, mas ahora sois luz en el Señor; andad como hijos de luz
10 comprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.
13 Mas todas las cosas, cuando son puestas en evidencia por la luz, son hechas manifiestas; porque la luz es lo que manifiesta todo.
14 Por lo cual dice: Despiértate, tú que duermes, Y levántate de los muertos, Y te alumbrará Cristo.
8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
12 Aún tengo muchas cosas que deciros, pero ahora no las podéis sobrellevar.
13 Pero cuando venga el Espíritu de verdad, él os guiará a toda la verdad; porque no hablará por su propia cuenta, sino que hablará todo lo que oyere, y os hará saber las cosas que habrán de venir.
14 Él me glorificará; porque tomará de lo mío, y os lo hará saber.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Para los que se apoyan en el infinito sostenedor, el día de hoy está lleno de bendiciones.
To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings.
La Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos le daban a Jesús autoridad sobre el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte. Su misión fue revelar la Ciencia del ser celestial, probar lo que Dios es y lo que hace por el hombre.
Divine Truth, Life, and Love gave Jesus authority over sin, sickness, and death. His mission was to reveal the Science of celestial being, to prove what God is and what He does for man.
Al enfermo que tenía la mano seca, le dijo: "Extiende tu mano", y ésta "le fue restaurada sana como la otra".
To the sufferer with the withered hand he said, "Stretch forth thine hand," and it "was restored whole, like as the other."
Debiéramos recordar que la Vida es Dios y que Dios es omnipotente. No comprendiendo los enfermos la Ciencia Cristiana, tienen, por lo general, poca fe en ella, hasta que experimentan su benéfica influencia. Eso demuestra que no es la fe lo que cura en tales casos. Los enfermos inconscientemente abogan a favor del sufrimiento, en vez de abogar en contra. Admiten su realidad, cuando debieran negarla. Debieran abogar en contra del testimonio de los sentidos engañosos y sostener la inmortalidad del hombre y su eterna semejanza con Dios.
Al igual que el gran Modelo, el sanador debiera hablar a la enfermedad como quien tiene autoridad sobre ella, dejando que el Alma domine los falsos testimonios de los sentidos corporales y afirme sus reivindicaciones sobre la mortalidad y la enfermedad. El mismo Principio sana tanto a la enfermedad como al pecado. Cuando la Ciencia divina domine la fe en una mente carnal, y la fe en Dios destruya toda fe en el pecado y en métodos materiales de curación, entonces el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte desaparecerán.
We should remember that Life is God, and that God is omnipotent. Not understanding Christian Science, the sick usually have little faith in it till they feel its beneficent influence. This shows that faith is not the healer in such cases. The sick unconsciously argue for suffering, instead of against it. They admit its reality, whereas they should deny it. They should plead in opposition to the testimony of the deceitful senses, and maintain man's immortality and eternal likeness to God.
Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease. The same Principle cures both sin and sickness. When divine Science overcomes faith in a carnal mind, and faith in God destroys all faith in sin and in material methods of healing, then sin, disease, and death will disappear.
¿Podrá negarse que tiene autoridad bíblica un sistema que obra de acuerdo con la Biblia?
La Ciencia Cristiana despierta al pecador, rescata al incrédulo y levanta del lecho de dolor al enfermo desvalido. A los mudos les habla las palabras de la Verdad, y ellos responden con regocijo. Hace que el sordo oiga, que el cojo ande y que el ciego vea.
Shall it be denied that a system which works according to the Scriptures has Scriptural authority?
Christian Science awakens the sinner, reclaims the infidel, and raises from the couch of pain the helpless invalid. It speaks to the dumb the words of Truth, and they answer with rejoicing. It causes the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, and the blind to see.
Pensad menos en los decretos de la mente mortal, y comprenderéis más rápidamente el señorío que Dios ha otorgado al hombre. Tenéis que comprender el camino que os liberará de las teorías humanas concernientes a la salud; de lo contrario nunca sentiréis que estáis del todo libres de alguna dolencia. La armonía y la inmortalidad del hombre jamás se alcanzarán sin la comprensión de que la Mente no está en la materia. Desterremos la enfermedad como a un proscrito y acatemos la regla de la armonía perpetua —la ley de Dios. El hombre tiene el derecho moral de anular una sentencia injusta, sentencia jamás impuesta por autoridad divina.
Think less of the enactments of mortal mind, and you will sooner grasp man's God-given dominion. You must understand your way out of human theories relating to health, or you will never believe that you are quite free from some ailment. The harmony and immortality of man will never be reached without the understanding that Mind is not in matter. Let us banish sickness as an outlaw, and abide by the rule of perpetual harmony, — God's law. It is man's moral right to annul an unjust sentence, a sentence never inflicted by divine authority.
El más alto representante terrenal de Dios, hablando de la capacidad humana para reflejar el poder divino, dijo proféticamente a sus discípulos, aludiendo no sólo a su tiempo, sino a todos los tiempos: "El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también"; y "Estas señales seguirán a los que creen".
The highest earthly representative of God, speaking of human ability to reflect divine power, prophetically said to his disciples, speaking not for their day only but for all time: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;" and "These signs shall follow them that believe."
La promesa de Jesús es perpetua. Si la hubiera hecho sólo a sus discípulos inmediatos, el pasaje de las Escrituras diría vosotros y no los. El propósito de la gran obra de su vida se extiende a través del tiempo e incluye a la humanidad universal. Su Principio es infinito y no está limitado a un solo período o a un solo grupo de seguidores. A medida que el tiempo avance, se hará justicia a los elementos curativos del cristianismo puro; serán buscados y enseñados y resplandecerán con toda la grandeza del bien universal.
Un poco de levadura leuda toda la masa. Un poco de comprensión de Ciencia Cristiana prueba la verdad de todo lo que digo respecto a ella. El hecho de que no podéis andar sobre el agua y resucitar a los muertos, no os da derecho a dudar del gran poder de la Ciencia divina en ese sentido. Tenemos que dar prueba de nuestra fe con la demostración.
Jesus' promise is perpetual. Had it been given only to his immediate disciples, the Scriptural passage would read you, not they. The purpose of his great life-work extends through time and includes universal humanity. Its Principle is infinite, reaching beyond the pale of a single period or of a limited following. As time moves on, the healing elements of pure Christianity will be fairly dealt with; they will be sought and taught, and will glow in all the grandeur of universal goodness.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump. A little understanding of Christian Science proves the truth of all that I say of it. Because you cannot walk on the water and raise the dead, you have no right to question the great might of divine Science in these directions. Be thankful that Jesus, who was the true demonstrator of Science, did these things, and left his example for us. In Science we can use only what we understand. We must prove our faith by demonstration.
Jesús previó cómo sería recibida la Ciencia Cristiana antes de ser comprendida, pero esta presciencia no le detuvo. Cumplió su misión divina y luego se sentó a la diestra del Padre.
Jesus foresaw the reception Christian Science would have before it was understood, but this foreknowledge hindered him not. He fulfilled his God-mission, and then sat down at the right hand of the Father.
Nuestro Maestro sanó a los enfermos, es decir, practicό la curación cristiana, y enseñó a sus discípulos las generalidades del Principio divino de dicha curación, pero no dejó una regla precisa para demostrar ese Principio de la curación y prevención de la enfermedad. Esa regla habría de descubrirse en la Ciencia Cristiana.
Our Master healed the sick, practised Christian healing, and taught the generalities of its divine Principle to his students; but he left no definite rule for demonstrating this Principle of healing and preventing disease. This rule remained to be discovered in Christian Science.
El término CHRISTIAN SCIENCE fue introducido por la autora para designar el sistema científico de la curación divina.
La revelación consta de dos partes:
1. El descubrimiento de esta Ciencia divina de curación por la Mente, mediante el sentido espiritual de las Escrituras y las enseñanzas del Consolador, como fueron prometidas por el Maestro.
2. La prueba, por la demostración actual, de que los llamados milagros de Jesús no pertenecían especialmente a un designio divino ahora terminado, sino que ilustraban un Principio divino en operación continua.
The term Christian Science was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine Principle.
Puede decirse, sin embargo, que el término Ciencia Cristiana se relaciona especialmente con la Ciencia en su aplicación a la humanidad. La Ciencia Cristiana revela que Dios no es el autor del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte, sino que es Principio divino, Ser Supremo, Mente, y que está exento de todo mal. Enseña que la materia es la falsedad, no la realidad, de la existencia; que los nervios, el cerebro, el estómago, los pulmones y demás, no tienen —como materia— inteligencia, vida, ni sensación.
No hay ciencia física, puesto que toda verdad procede de la Mente divina. Por tanto, la verdad no es humana, ni es una ley de la materia, porque la materia no es un legislador. La Ciencia es una emanación de la Mente divina, y sólo ella es capaz de interpretar a Dios correctamente. Su origen es espiritual, no material. Es una declaración divina —el Consolador que guía a toda la verdad.
It may be said, however, that the term Christian Science relates especially to Science as applied to humanity. Christian Science reveals God, not as the author of sin, sickness, and death, but as divine Principle, Supreme Being, Mind, exempt from all evil. It teaches that matter is the falsity, not the fact, of existence; that nerves, brain, stomach, lungs, and so forth, have — as matter — no intelligence, life, nor sensation.
There is no physical science, inasmuch as all truth proceeds from the divine Mind. Therefore truth is not human, and is not a law of matter, for matter is not a lawgiver. Science is an emanation of divine Mind, and is alone able to interpret God aright. It has a spiritual, and not a material origin. It is a divine utterance, — the Comforter which leadeth into all truth.
Cuando la humanidad comprenda esta Ciencia, será la ley de la Vida para el hombre —es decir, la ley superior del Alma, que prevalece sobre el sentido material mediante la armonía y la inmortalidad.
When humanity does understand this Science, it will become the law of Life to man, — even the higher law of Soul, which prevails over material sense through harmony and immortality.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
