“Profeta de en medio de ti, de tus hermanos, como yo, te levantará Jehová tu Dios; a él oiréis.”

2. El pueblo que andaba en tinieblas vio gran luz; los que moraban en tierra de sombra de muerte, luz resplandeció sobre ellos.
6. Porque un niño nos es nacido, hijo nos es dado, y el principado sobre su hombro;
7. Lo dilatado de su imperio y la paz no tendrán límite, sobre el trono de David y sobre su reino, disponiéndolo y confirmándolo en juicio y en justicia desde ahora y para siempre. El celo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.
1. Saldrá una vara del tronco de Isaí, y un vástago retoñará de sus raíces.

2. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
16 Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
17 Porque no envió Dios a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para que el mundo sea salvo por él.

5 Entrando Jesús en Capernaum, vino a él un centurión, rogándole,
6 y diciendo: Señor, mi criado está postrado en casa, paralítico, gravemente atormentado.
7 Y Jesús le dijo: Yo iré y le sanaré.
8 Respondió el centurión y dijo: Señor, no soy digno de que entres bajo mi techo; solamente di la palabra, y mi criado sanará.
13 Entonces Jesús dijo al centurión: Ve, y como creíste, te sea hecho. Y su criado fue sanado en aquella misma hora.

26 Pero cuando venga el Consolador, a quien yo os enviaré del Padre, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre, él dará testimonio acerca de mí.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Cuando una nueva idea espiritual es traída a la tierra, la palabra profética de Isaías se cumple nuevamente: "Un niño nos es nacido,... y se llamará su nombre Admirable".
Jesús dijo una vez de sus enseñanzas: "Mi doctrina no es mía, sino de Aquel que me envió. El que quiera hacer la voluntad de Dios, conocerá si la doctrina es de Dios, o si yo hablo por mi propia cuenta". (Juan 7:16, 17.)
When a new spiritual idea is borne to earth, the prophetic Scripture of Isaiah is renewedly fulfilled: "Unto us a child is born, ... and his name shall be called Wonderful."
Jesus once said of his lessons: "My doctrine is not mine, but His that sent me. If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." (John vii. 16,17.)
En el año 1866 descubrí la Ciencia del Cristo o las leyes divinas de la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor, y nombré mi descubrimiento Christian Science. Dios bondadosamente me había estado preparando durante muchos años para que recibiera esta revelación final del Principio divino absoluto de la curación mental científica.
Ese Principio apodíctico señala hacia la revelación del Emanuel, o "Dios con nosotros", la eterna presencia soberana, que libra a los hijos de los hombres de todo mal "de que es heredera la carne". Gracias a la Ciencia Cristiana*, se inspira a la religión y a la medicina con naturaleza y esencia más divinas; se da nuevas alas a la fe y a la comprensión, y los pensamientos vuelven en amistad inteligente con Dios.
In the year 1866, I discovered the Christ Science or divine laws of Life, Truth, and Love, and named my discovery Christian Science. God had been graciously preparing me during many years for the reception of this final revelation of the absolute divine Principle of scientific mental healing.
This apodictical Principle points to the revelation of Immanuel, "God with us," — the sovereign ever-presence, delivering the children of men from every ill "that flesh is heir to." Through Christian Science, religion and medicine are inspired with a diviner nature and essence; fresh pinions are given to faith and understanding, and thoughts acquaint themselves intelligently with God.
Durante tres años, después de mi descubrimiento, busqué la solución de ese problema de la curación por la Mente, escudriñé las Escrituras y leí poco de otras cosas, me mantuve alejada de la vida social y dediqué tiempo y energías al descubrimiento de una regla positiva. La búsqueda fue dulce, tranquila, animada por la esperanza, no egoísta ni deprimente. Yo sabía que el Principio de toda acción armoniosa de la Mente es Dios y que las curaciones se producían en los primeros tiempos de la curación cristiana mediante una fe santa y enaltecedora; pero tenía que conocer la Ciencia de esa curación, y llegué a conclusiones absolutas mediante la revelación divina, la razón y la demostración. La revelación de la Verdad en mi entendimiento me vino gradualmente, y evidentemente gracias al poder divino.
For three years after my discovery, I sought the solution of this problem of Mind-healing, searched the Scriptures and read little else, kept aloof from society, and devoted time and energies to discovering a positive rule. The search was sweet, calm, and buoyant with hope, not selfish nor depressing. I knew the Principle of all harmonious Mind-action to be God, and that cures were produced in primitive Christian healing by holy, uplifting faith; but I must know the Science of this healing, and I won my way to absolute conclusions through divine revelation, reason, and demonstration. The revelation of Truth in the understanding came to me gradually and apparently through divine power.
Al seguir esas indicaciones de la revelación científica, la Biblia fue mi único libro de texto. Las Escrituras se iluminaron; la razón y la revelación se reconciliaron, y después la verdad de la Ciencia Cristiana fue demostrada. In following these leadings of scientific revelation, the Bible was my only textbook. The Scriptures were illumined; reason and revelation were reconciled, and afterwards the truth of Christian Science was demonstrated. No human pen nor tongue taught me the Science contained in this book, Science and Health; and neither tongue nor pen can overthrow it. This book may be distorted by shallow criticism or by careless or malicious students, and its ideas may be temporarily abused and misrepresented; but the Science and truth therein will forever remain to be discerned and demonstrated.
Desde que la autora descubrió el poder de la Verdad en el tratamiento tanto de la enfermedad como del pecado, su sistema ha sido puesto a prueba plenamente, sin encontrársele deficiencia alguna; mas para alcanzar las alturas de la Ciencia Cristiana*, el hombre tiene que vivir en obediencia al Principio divino de esa Ciencia. Para desarrollar todo el poder de esa Ciencia, las discordias del sentido corporal tienen que ceder a la armonía del sentido espiritual, así como la ciencia de la música corrige las notas falsas y da dulce concordancia a los sonidos.
Since the author's discovery of the might of Truth in the treatment of disease as well as of sin, her system has been fully tested and has not been found wanting; but to reach the heights of Christian Science, man must live in obedience to its divine Principle. To develop the full might of this Science, the discords of corporeal sense must yield to the harmony of spiritual sense, even as the science of music corrects false tones and gives sweet concord to sound.
Después de su sagrado descubrimiento, la autora puso el nombre "Ciencia" al cristianismo, el nombre "error" al sentido corporal y el nombre "sustancia" a la Mente. La Ciencia ha emplazado al mundo sobre ese punto y su demostración, que sana a los enfermos, destruye el error y revela la armonía universal. A aquellos Científicos Cristianos naturales, los antiguos patriarcas, y a Cristo Jesús, Dios por cierto les reveló el espíritu de la Ciencia Cristiana, si no la letra absoluta.
After the author's sacred discovery, she affixed the name "Science" to Christianity, the name "error" to corporeal sense, and the name "substance" to Mind. Science has called the world to battle over this issue and its demonstration, which heals the sick, destroys error, and reveals the universal harmony. To those natural Christian Scientists, the ancient worthies, and to Christ Jesus, God certainly revealed the spirit of Christian Science, if not the absolute letter.
El término CHRISTIAN SCIENCE fue introducido por la autora para designar el sistema científico de la curación divina.
La revelación consta de dos partes:
1. El descubrimiento de esta Ciencia divina de curación por la Mente, mediante el sentido espiritual de las Escrituras y las enseñanzas del Consolador, como fueron prometidas por el Maestro.
2. La prueba, por la demostración actual, de que los llamados milagros de Jesús no pertenecían especialmente a un designio divino ahora terminado, sino que ilustraban un Principio divino en operación continua. La operación de ese Principio indica la eternidad del orden científico y de la continuidad del ser.
The term Christian Science was introduced by the author to designate the scientific system of divine healing.
The revelation consists of two parts:
1. The discovery of this divine Science of Mind-healing, through a spiritual sense of the Scriptures and through the teachings of the Comforter, as promised by the Master.
2. The proof, by present demonstration, that the so-called miracles of Jesus did not specially belong to a dispensation now ended, but that they illustrated an ever-operative divine Principle. The operation of this Principle indicates the eternality of the scientific order and continuity of being.
Jesús demostró el poder de la Ciencia Cristiana para sanar mentes y cuerpos mortales. Pero ese poder fue perdido de vista y de nuevo tiene que ser percibido, enseñado y demostrado espiritualmente, de acuerdo con el mandato de Cristo y "con las señales que lo siguen". La Ciencia de ese poder tiene que ser comprendida por todos aquellos que creen en Cristo y comprenden espiritualmente la Verdad.
Jesus demonstrated the power of Christian Science to heal mortal minds and bodies. But this power was lost sight of, and must again be spiritually discerned, taught, and demonstrated according to Christ's command, with "signs following." Its Science must be apprehended by as many as believe on Christ and spiritually understand Truth.
Dios escoge para la misión más elevada a quien haya logrado una aptitud tal para desempeñarla que cualquier abuso de esa misión se hace imposible. El Omnisapiente no confiere Sus cargos de confianza superiores al que sea indigno de ellos. Cuando Él comisiona a un mensajero, es a alguien que está espiritualmente cerca de Él. Nadie puede hacer mal uso de ese poder mental si Dios le ha enseñado a discernirlo.
God selects for the highest service one who has grown into such a fitness for it as renders any abuse of the mission an impossibility. The All-wise does not bestow His highest trusts upon the unworthy. When He commissions a messenger, it is one who is spiritually near Himself. No person can misuse this mental power, if he is taught of God to discern it.
Quienquiera que abra el camino de la Ciencia Cristiana es un peregrino y forastero, que traza la senda a generaciones aún no nacidas.
Whoever opens the way in Christian Science is a pilgrim and stranger, marking out the path for generations yet unborn.
Mi Esperanza cansada trata de ver la realización de ese día feliz en que el hombre reconocerá la Ciencia del Cristo y amará a su prójimo como a sí mismo —en que comprenderá la omnipotencia de Dios y el poder sanador del Amor divino en lo que ha hecho y está haciendo por la humanidad. Las promesas se cumplirán. La hora de la reaparición de la curación divina se presenta en todo tiempo; y quienquiera que ponga su todo terrenal sobre el altar de la Ciencia divina, bebe ahora de la copa del Cristo y es dotado del espíritu y del poder de la curación cristiana.
En las palabras de San Juan: "Os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre". Entiendo que ese Consolador es la Ciencia Divina.
My weary hope tries to realize that happy day, when man shall recognize the Science of Christ and love his neighbor as himself, — when he shall realize God's omnipotence and the healing power of the divine Love in what it has done and is doing for mankind. The promises will be fulfilled. The time for the reappearing of the divine healing is throughout all time; and whosoever layeth his earthly all on the altar of divine Science, drinketh of Christ's cup now, and is endued with the spirit and power of Christian healing.
In the words of St. John: "He shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever." This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
