1. Si, pues, habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscad las cosas de arriba, donde está Cristo sentado a la diestra de Dios.
2. Poned la mira en las cosas de arriba, no en las de la tierra.
4. Cuando Cristo, vuestra vida, se manifieste, entonces vosotros también seréis manifestados con él en gloria.
9. No mintáis los unos a los otros, habiéndoos despojado del viejo hombre con sus hechos,
10. y revestido del nuevo, el cual conforme a la imagen del que lo creó se va renovando hasta el conocimiento pleno,
14. Y sobre todas estas cosas vestíos de amor, que es el vínculo perfecto.
15. Y la paz de Dios gobierne en vuestros corazones, a la que asimismo fuisteis llamados en un solo cuerpo; y sed agradecidos.

1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
4. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
9. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10. And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

1 En el principio era el Verbo, y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios.
2 Este era en el principio con Dios.
3 Todas las cosas por él fueron hechas, y sin él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho.
4 En él estaba la vida, y la vida era la luz de los hombres.
5 La luz en las tinieblas resplandece, y las tinieblas no prevalecieron contra ella.
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
3 Inclinad vuestro oído, y venid a mí; oíd, y vivirá vuestra alma;
8 Porque mis pensamientos no son vuestros pensamientos, ni vuestros caminos mis caminos, dijo Jehová.
9 Como son más altos los cielos que la tierra, así son mis caminos más altos que vuestros caminos, y mis pensamientos más que vuestros pensamientos.

3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

29 Pasó Jesús de allí y vino junto al mar de Galilea; y subiendo al monte, se sentó allí.
30 Y se le acercó mucha gente que traía consigo a cojos, ciegos, mudos, mancos, y otros muchos enfermos; y los pusieron a los pies de Jesús, y los sanó;
31 de manera que la multitud se maravillaba, viendo a los mudos hablar, a los mancos sanados, a los cojos andar, y a los ciegos ver; y glorificaban al Dios de Israel.

29 And Jesus departed from thence, and came nigh unto the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there.
30 And great multitudes came unto him, having with them those that were lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus’ feet; and he healed them:
31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.
32 Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said,
30 No puedo yo hacer nada por mí mismo; según oigo, así juzgo; y mi juicio es justo, porque no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió, la del Padre.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
63 El espíritu es el que da vida; la carne para nada aprovecha; las palabras que yo os he hablado son espíritu y son vida.
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
1 Pedro y Juan subían juntos al templo a la hora novena, la de la oración.
2 Y era traído un hombre cojo de nacimiento, a quien ponían cada día a la puerta del templo que se llama la Hermosa, para que pidiese limosna de los que entraban en el templo.
3 Este, cuando vio a Pedro y a Juan que iban a entrar en el templo, les rogaba que le diesen limosna.
4 Pedro, con Juan, fijando en él los ojos, le dijo: Míranos.
5 Entonces él les estuvo atento, esperando recibir de ellos algo.
6 Mas Pedro dijo: No tengo plata ni oro, pero lo que tengo te doy; en el nombre de Jesucristo de Nazaret, levántate y anda.
7 Y tomándole por la mano derecha le levantó; y al momento se le afirmaron los pies y tobillos;
8 y saltando, se puso en pie y anduvo; y entró con ellos en el templo, andando, y saltando, y alabando a Dios.
9 Y todo el pueblo le vio andar y alabar a Dios.
11 Y teniendo asidos a Pedro y a Juan el cojo que había sido sanado, todo el pueblo, atónito, concurrió a ellos al pórtico que se llama de Salomón.
12 Viendo esto Pedro, respondió al pueblo: Varones israelitas, ¿por qué os maravilláis de esto?, ¿o por qué ponéis los ojos en nosotros, como si por nuestro poder o piedad hubiésemos hecho andar a este?
13 El Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob, el Dios de nuestros padres, ha glorificado a su Hijo Jesús,
16 Y por la fe en su nombre, a este, que vosotros veis y conocéis, le ha confirmado su nombre; y la fe que es por él ha dado a este esta completa sanidad en presencia de todos vosotros.
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus;
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
6 Porque Dios, que mandó que de las tinieblas resplandeciese la luz, es el que resplandeció en nuestros corazones, para iluminación del conocimiento de la gloria de Dios en la faz de Jesucristo.
14 sabiendo que el que resucitó al Señor Jesús, a nosotros también nos resucitará con Jesús, y nos presentará juntamente con vosotros.
15 Porque todas estas cosas padecemos por amor a vosotros, para que abundando la gracia por medio de muchos, la acción de gracias sobreabunde para gloria de Dios.
17 Porque esta leve tribulación momentánea produce en nosotros un cada vez más excelente y eterno peso de gloria;
18 no mirando nosotros las cosas que se ven, sino las que no se ven; pues las cosas que se ven son temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Dios crea toda forma de realidad. Sus pensamientos son realidades espirituales.
God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are spiritual realities.
Las Escrituras dan a entender que Dios es Todo-en-todo. De eso se deduce que nada posee realidad ni existencia excepto la Mente divina y Sus ideas. Las Escrituras también declaran que Dios es Espíritu. Por lo tanto, en el Espíritu todo es armonía y no puede haber discordancia; todo es Vida y no hay muerte.
The Scriptures imply that God is All-in-all. From this it follows that nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas. The Scriptures also declare that God is Spirit. Therefore in Spirit all is harmony, and there can be no discord; all is Life, and there is no death.
Los pensamientos de Dios son perfectos y eternos, son sustancia y Vida. Los pensamientos materiales y temporales son humanos y entrañan error; y puesto que Dios, el Espíritu, es la causa única, carecen de causa divina. Lo temporal y lo material no son, pues, creaciones del Espíritu. No son sino las contrahechuras de lo espiritual y lo eterno.
God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the only cause, they lack a divine cause. The temporal and material are not then creations of Spirit. They are but counterfeits of the spiritual and eternal.
El hombre y su Hacedor están correlacionados en la Ciencia divina, y la consciencia verdadera sólo tiene conocimiento de las cosas de Dios.
La comprensión de que toda discordia es irreal presenta los objetos y pensamientos a la percepción humana en su verdadero aspecto y los presenta como bellos e inmortales. La armonía en el hombre es tan real e inmortal como en la música. La discordia es irreal y mortal.
Si se admite que Dios es la Mente y Vida únicas, cesa toda oportunidad para el pecado y la muerte. Cuando aprendemos en la Ciencia a ser perfectos, así como nuestro Padre celestial es perfecto, el pensamiento se dirige por vías nuevas y saludables hacia la contemplación de cosas inmortales, y se vuelve de la materialidad hacia el Principio del universo, incluso el hombre armonioso.
Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.
The realization that all inharmony is unreal brings objects and thoughts into human view in their true light, and presents them as beautiful and immortal. Harmony in man is as real and immortal as in music. Discord is unreal and mortal.
If God is admitted to be the only Mind and Life, there ceases to be any opportunity for sin and death. When we learn in Science how to be perfect even as our Father in heaven is perfect, thought is turned into new and healthy channels, — towards the contemplation of things immortal and away from materiality to the Principle of the universe, including harmonious man.
Puesto que Dios es sustancia y el hombre es la imagen y semejanza divina, el hombre debe desear, y en realidad posee, sólo la sustancia del bien, la sustancia del Espíritu, no de la materia. La creencia de que el hombre tiene otra sustancia, o mente, no es espiritual y quebranta el Primer Mandamiento: Tendrás un solo Dios, una sola Mente.
As God is substance and man is the divine image and likeness, man should wish for, and in reality has, only the substance of good, the substance of Spirit, not matter. The belief that man has any other substance, or mind, is not spiritual and breaks the First Commandment, Thou shalt have one God, one Mind.
Todo lo real es eterno. La perfección es la base de la realidad. Sin perfección nada es absolutamente real. Todas las cosas continuarán desapareciendo, hasta que aparezca la perfección y se alcance la realidad.
All the real is eternal. Perfection underlies reality. Without perfection, nothing is wholly real. All things will continue to disappear, until perfection appears and reality is reached.
Las teorías humanas son incapaces de hacer que el hombre sea armonioso o inmortal, puesto que ya lo es, según la Ciencia Cristiana. Nuestra única necesidad es la de darnos cuenta de eso y llevar a la práctica el Amor, el Principio divino del hombre verdadero.
Human theories are helpless to make man harmonious or immortal, since he is so already, according to Christian Science. Our only need is to know this and reduce to practice the real man's divine Principle, Love.
¿Cómo pueden distinguirse las ideas verdaderas de las ilusiones? Averiguando el origen de ambas. Las ideas son emanaciones de la Mente divina. How are veritable ideas to be distinguished from illusions? By learning the origin of each. Ideas are emanations from the divine Mind. Thoughts, proceeding from the brain or from matter, are offshoots of mortal mind; they are mortal material beliefs. Ideas are spiritual, harmonious, and eternal. Beliefs proceed from the so-called material senses,
La llamada existencia material no da prueba alguna de la existencia espiritual ni de la inmortalidad.
Jesús razonaba prácticamente sobre ese tema y, basándose en su espiritualidad, dominaba a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Comprendiendo la nada de las cosas materiales, se refería a la carne y al Espíritu como los dos contrarios —como el error y la Verdad, que no contribuyen de ninguna manera a la felicidad y existencia recíprocas. Jesús sabía que "el espíritu es el que da vida; la carne para nada aprovecha".
So-called material existence affords no evidence of spiritual existence and immortality.
Jesus reasoned on this subject practically, and controlled sickness, sin, and death on the basis of his spirituality. Understanding the nothingness of material things, he spoke of flesh and Spirit as the two opposites, — as error and Truth, not contributing in any way to each other's happiness and existence. Jesus knew, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."
El sentido espiritual de la verdad tiene que obtenerse antes que la Verdad pueda comprenderse. Ese sentido se asimila sólo a medida que seamos honestos, abnegados, bondadosos y humildes. Hay que sembrar la semilla en la tierra de un "corazón bueno y recto"; de otro modo no llevará mucho fruto, pues la desarraigará el elemento más bajo de la naturaleza humana.
The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek. In the soil of an "honest and good heart" the seed must be sown; else it beareth not much fruit, for the swinish element in human nature uproots it.
La Ciencia Cristiana, correctamente comprendida, liberaría a la mente humana de creencias materiales, que luchan contra las realidades espirituales; y esas creencias materiales tienen que ser negadas y expulsadas para hacer lugar a la verdad.
Si el pensamiento se alarma por la energía con que la Ciencia reivindica la supremacía de Dios, o la Verdad, y pone en duda la supremacía del bien, ¿no debiéramos, por el contrario, asombrarnos de las vigorosas pretensiones del mal y dudar de ellas, y ya no pensar que es natural amar el pecado y contranatural abandonarlo —ya no imaginarnos que el mal está siempre presente y que el bien está ausente? La verdad no debiera parecernos tan asombrosa y contranatural como el error, y el error no debiera parecernos tan real como la verdad. La enfermedad no debiera parecernos tan real como la salud. No hay error en la Ciencia, y nuestra vida tiene que estar gobernada por la realidad para estar en armonía con Dios, el Principio divino de todo ser.
Christian Science, properly understood, would disabuse the human mind of material beliefs which war against spiritual facts; and these material beliefs must be denied and cast out to make place for truth.
If thought is startled at the strong claim of Science for the supremacy of God, or Truth, and doubts the supremacy of good, ought we not, contrariwise, to be astounded at the vigorous claims of evil and doubt them, and no longer think it natural to love sin and unnatural to forsake it, — no longer imagine evil to be ever-present and good absent? Truth should not seem so surprising and unnatural as error, and error should not seem so real as truth. Sickness should not seem so real as health. There is no error in Science, and our lives must be governed by reality in order to be in harmony with God, the divine Principle of all being.
Todo lo que es gobernado por Dios jamás está privado ni por un instante de la luz y del poder de la inteligencia y la Vida.
A veces se nos induce a creer que la oscuridad es tan real como la luz; pero la Ciencia afirma que la oscuridad es tan sólo una sensación mortal de la ausencia de la luz, a cuya llegada la oscuridad pierde la apariencia de realidad. De igual manera el pecado y el pesar, la enfermedad y la muerte, son la supuesta ausencia de la Vida, Dios, y huyen como fantasmas del error ante la verdad y el amor.
Whatever is governed by God, is never for an instant deprived of the light and might of intelligence and Life.
We are sometimes led to believe that darkness is as real as light; but Science affirms darkness to be only a mortal sense of the absence of light, at the coming of which darkness loses the appearance of reality. So sin and sorrow, disease and death, are the suppositional absence of Life, God, and flee as phantoms of error before truth and love.
La Biblia declara: "Todas las cosas por Él [el Verbo divino] fueron hechas, y sin Él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho". Esa es la verdad eterna de la Ciencia divina. Si se comprendiera que el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte son nada, desaparecerían. Como el vapor se disuelve ante el sol, así el mal se desvanecería ante la realidad del bien. El uno tiene que ocultar al otro. ¡Cuán importante es, pues, escoger el bien como la realidad!
The Bible declares: "All things were made by Him [the divine Word]; and without Him was not anything made that was made." This is the eternal verity of divine Science. If sin, sickness, and death were understood as nothingness, they would disappear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the other. How important, then, to choose good as the reality!
Mantened vuestro pensamiento firmemente en lo perdurable, lo bueno y lo verdadero, y los experimentaréis en la medida en que ocupen vuestros pensamientos.
Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts.
Debemos formar modelos perfectos en el pensamiento y mirarlos continuamente, o nunca los esculpiremos en vidas grandes y nobles.
We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives.
Aceptemos la Ciencia, renunciemos a todas las teorías basadas en el testimonio de los sentidos, abandonemos los modelos imperfectos e ideales ilusorios; y tengamos así un solo Dios, una sola Mente, y ese uno perfecto, produciendo Sus propios modelos de excelencia.
Let us accept Science, relinquish all theories based on sense-testimony, give up imperfect models and illusive ideals; and so let us have one God, one Mind, and that one perfect, producing His own models of excellence.
No hay más que un camino que conduce al cielo, la armonía, y Cristo en la Ciencia divina nos muestra ese camino. Es no conocer otra realidad —no tener otra consciencia de la vida— que el bien, Dios y Su reflejo, y elevarse sobre los llamados dolores y placeres de los sentidos.
There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
Aprendamos de lo real y eterno y preparémonos para el reino del Espíritu, el reino de los cielos —el reino y gobierno de la armonía universal, que no puede perderse ni permanecer oculto para siempre.
Let us learn of the real and eternal, and prepare for the reign of Spirit, the kingdom of heaven, — the reign and rule of universal harmony, which cannot be lost nor remain forever unseen.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
