1. Jehová es mi luz y mi salvación; ¿de quién temeré? Jehová es la fortaleza de mi vida; ¿de quién he de atemorizarme?
3. Aunque un ejército acampe contra mí, no temerá mi corazón; aunque contra mí se levante guerra, yo estaré confiado.
4. Una cosa he demandado a Jehová, ésta buscaré; que esté yo en la casa de Jehová todos los días de mi vida, para contemplar la hermosura de Jehová, y para inquirir en su templo.

26 Entonces dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza; y señoree en los peces del mar, en las aves de los cielos, en las bestias, en toda la tierra, y en todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra.
27 Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios lo creó; varón y hembra los creó.
28 Y los bendijo Dios, y les dijo: Fructificad y multiplicaos; llenad la tierra, y sojuzgadla, y señoread en los peces del mar, en las aves de los cielos, y en todas las bestias que se mueven sobre la tierra.
29 Y dijo Dios: He aquí que os he dado toda planta que da semilla, que está sobre toda la tierra, y todo árbol en que hay fruto y que da semilla; os serán para comer.

13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions.
14 Y Jesús volvió en el poder del Espíritu a Galilea, y se difundió su fama por toda la tierra de alrededor.
15 Y enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos, y era glorificado por todos.
33 Estaba en la sinagoga un hombre que tenía un espíritu de demonio inmundo, el cual exclamó a gran voz,
34 Diciendo: Déjanos; ¿qué tienes con nosotros, Jesús nazareno? ¿Has venido para destruirnos? Yo te conozco quién eres, el Santo de Dios.

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
33 And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
34 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
36 And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
12 Sucedió que estando él en una de las ciudades, se presentó un hombre lleno de lepra, el cual, viendo a Jesús, se postró con el rostro en tierra y le rogó, diciendo: Señor, si quieres, puedes limpiarme.
13 Entonces, extendiendo él la mano, le tocó, diciendo: Quiero; sé limpio. Y al instante la lepra se fue de él.
16 Mas él se apartaba a lugares desiertos, y oraba.
17 Aconteció un día, que él estaba enseñando, y estaban sentados los fariseos y doctores de la ley, los cuales habían venido de todas las aldeas de Galilea, y de Judea y Jerusalén; y el poder del Señor estaba con él para sanar.
18 Y sucedió que unos hombres que traían en un lecho a un hombre que estaba paralítico, procuraban llevarle adentro y ponerle delante de él.
19 Pero no hallando cómo hacerlo a causa de la multitud, subieron encima de la casa, y por el tejado le bajaron con el lecho, poniéndole en medio, delante de Jesús.
20 Al ver él la fe de ellos, le dijo: Hombre, tus pecados te son perdonados.
24 A ti te digo: Levántate, toma tu lecho, y vete a tu casa.
25 Al instante, levantándose en presencia de ellos, y tomando el lecho en que estaba acostado, se fue a su casa, glorificando a Dios.
26 Y todos, sobrecogidos de asombro, glorificaban a Dios; y llenos de temor, decían: Hoy hemos visto maravillas.

12 And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
13 And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will: be thou clean. And immediately the leprosy departed from him.
16 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judæa, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
24 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
34 And he said unto them,
29 … pues, no os preocupéis por lo que habéis de comer, ni por lo que habéis de beber, ni estéis en ansiosa inquietud.
30 Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; pero vuestro Padre sabe que tenéis necesidad de estas cosas.
31 Mas buscad el reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
32 No temáis, manada pequeña, porque a vuestro Padre le ha placido daros el reino.
29 …seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
1 Levántate, resplandece; porque ha venido tu luz, y la gloria de Jehová ha nacido sobre ti.
2 Porque he aquí que tinieblas cubrirán la tierra, y oscuridad las naciones; mas sobre ti amanecerá Jehová, y sobre ti será vista su gloria.
3 Y andarán las naciones a tu luz, y los reyes al resplandor de tu nacimiento.
18 Nunca más se oirá en tu tierra violencia, destrucción ni quebrantamiento en tu territorio, sino que a tus muros llamarás Salvación, y a tus puertas Alabanza.
19 El sol nunca más te servirá de luz para el día, ni el resplandor de la luna te alumbrará, sino que Jehová te será por luz perpetua, y el Dios tuyo por tu gloria.
20 No se pondrá jamás tu sol, ni menguará tu luna; porque Jehová te será por luz perpetua, y los días de tu luto serán acabados.
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
No hay más que un camino que conduce al cielo, la armonía, y Cristo en la Ciencia divina nos muestra ese camino. Es no conocer otra realidad —no tener otra consciencia de la vida— que el bien, Dios y Su reflejo, y elevarse sobre los llamados dolores y placeres de los sentidos.
There is but one way to heaven, harmony, and Christ in divine Science shows us this way. It is to know no other reality — to have no other consciousness of life — than good, God and His reflection, and to rise superior to the so-called pain and pleasure of the senses.
La realidad es espiritual, armoniosa, inmutable, inmortal, divina, eterna. Nada que no sea espiritual puede ser real, armonioso o eterno. El pecado, la enfermedad y la mortalidad son los hipotéticos antípodas del Espíritu, y tienen que ser contradicciones en cuanto a la realidad.
Reality is spiritual, harmonious, immutable, immortal, divine, eternal. Nothing unspiritual can be real, harmonious, or eternal. Sin, sickness, and mortality are the suppositional antipodes of Spirit, and must be contradictions of reality.
En el Evangelio según San Juan se declara que todas las cosas fueron hechas por el Verbo de Dios, "y sin Él [el logos, o verbo] nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho". Todo lo bueno o que vale, lo hizo Dios. Lo que carece de valor, o que es nocivo, Él no lo hizo —de ahí su irrealidad. En la Ciencia del Génesis leemos que Él vio todo lo que había hecho, "y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera" … El pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte deben conceptuarse tan faltos de realidad como del bien, Dios.
In the Gospel of John, it is declared that all things were made through the Word of God, "and without Him [the logos, or word] was not anything made that was made." Everything good or worthy, God made. Whatever is valueless or baneful, He did not make, — hence its unreality. In the Science of Genesis we read that He saw everything which He had made, "and, behold, it was very good." … Sin, sickness, and death must be deemed as devoid of reality as they are of good, God.
La razón, bien dirigida, sirve para corregir los errores de los sentidos corporales; pero el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte parecerán reales (así como las experiencias del sueño mientras dormimos parecen reales) hasta que la Ciencia de la armonía eterna del hombre les destruya su ilusión con la ininterrumpida realidad del ser científico.
¿Cuál de estas dos teorías referentes al hombre estáis dispuestos a aceptar? Una de ellas es el testimonio mortal —mutable, perecedero e irreal. La otra es el testimonio eterno y real, que lleva el sello de la Verdad, con su regazo colmado de frutos inmortales.
Reason, rightly directed, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the experiences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Science of man's eternal harmony breaks their illusion with the unbroken reality of scientific being.
Which of these two theories concerning man are you ready to accept? One is the mortal testimony, changing, dying, unreal. The other is the eternal and real evidence, bearing Truth's signet, its lap piled high with immortal fruits.
¿Acaso diría una madre a su hijo, aterrorizado por fantasmas imaginarios y enfermo a consecuencia de su temor: "Yo sé que los fantasmas son reales. Existen y son temibles; pero tú no debes temerlos"?
Los niños, como los adultos, debieran temer una realidad que puede dañarles y que no comprenden, porque en cualquier momento pueden ser sus víctimas indefensas; pero en vez de aumentar los temores de los niños, declarando que los fantasmas son reales, despiadados y poderosos, regando así las raíces mismas de la timidez infantil, debiera asegurarse a los niños que sus temores carecen de fundamento, que los fantasmas no son realidades, sino creencias tradicionales, erróneas e imaginadas por los hombres.
Would a mother say to her child, who is frightened at imaginary ghosts and sick in consequence of the fear: "I know that ghosts are real. They exist, and are to be feared; but you must not be afraid of them"?
Children, like adults, ought to fear a reality which can harm them and which they do not understand, for at any moment they may become its helpless victims; but instead of increasing children's fears by declaring ghosts to be real, merciless, and powerful, thus watering the very roots of childish timidity, children should be assured that their fears are groundless, that ghosts are not realities, but traditional beliefs, erroneous and man-made.
Lo que es cristiana y científicamente real es lo irreal desde el punto de vista sensorio. El pecado, la enfermedad, todo lo que a los sentidos materiales les parece real, es irreal en la Ciencia divina. Los sentidos físicos y la Ciencia siempre han sido antagonistas, y continuarán siéndolo, hasta que el testimonio de los sentidos físicos se someta por completo a la Ciencia Cristiana.
La época actual no ha dejado atrás por completo creencias en fantasmas. Todavía se aferra a ellas en menor o mayor grado. El tiempo aún no ha alcanzado la eternidad, la inmortalidad, la realidad completa. Todo lo real es eterno. La perfección es la base de la realidad. Sin perfección nada es absolutamente real. Todas las cosas continuarán desapareciendo, hasta que aparezca la perfección y se alcance la realidad. Tenemos que abandonar lo espectral en todo sentido. No debemos seguir admitiendo que la superstición pueda ser algo, sino que debemos abandonar toda creencia en ella y ser sabios. Cuando aprendamos que el error no es real, estaremos preparados para el progreso, "olvidando ciertamente lo que queda atrás".
The Christianly scientific real is the sensuous unreal. Sin, disease, whatever seems real to material sense, is unreal in divine Science. The physical senses and Science have ever been antagonistic, and they will so continue, till the testimony of the physical senses yields entirely to Christian Science.
The age has not wholly outlived the sense of ghostly beliefs. It still holds them more or less. Time has not yet reached eternity, immortality, complete reality. All the real is eternal. Perfection underlies reality. Without perfection, nothing is wholly real. All things will continue to disappear, until perfection appears and reality is reached. We must give up the spectral at all points. We must not continue to admit the somethingness of superstition, but we must yield up all belief in it and be wise. When we learn that error is not real, we shall be ready for progress, "forgetting those things which are behind."
No es sensato dudar que la realidad está en perfecta armonía con Dios, el Principio divino —que la Ciencia, cuando sea comprendida y demostrada, destruirá toda discordia— ya que admitís que Dios es omnipotente; pues de esa premisa se deduce que el bien y sus dulces armonías tienen todo el poder.
It is vain to speak dishonestly of divine Science, which destroys all discord, when you can demonstrate the actuality of Science. It is unwise to doubt if reality is in perfect harmony with God, divine Principle, — if Science, when understood and demonstrated, will destroy all discord, — since you admit that God is omnipotent; for from this premise it follows that good and its sweet concords have all-power.
Toda realidad está en Dios y Su creación, armoniosa y eterna. Lo que Él crea es bueno, y Él hace todo lo que es hecho. Por tanto, la única realidad del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte es la terrible verdad de que las irrealidades parecen reales a la creencia humana y errada, hasta que Dios las despoja de su disfraz. No son verdaderas, porque no proceden de Dios. Aprendemos en la Ciencia Cristiana que toda desarmonía de la mente o del cuerpo mortales es una ilusión y no posee ni realidad ni identidad, aunque parezca que es real y que tiene identidad.
All reality is in God and His creation, harmonious and eternal. That which He creates is good, and He makes all that is made. Therefore the only reality of sin, sickness, or death is the awful fact that unrealities seem real to human, erring belief, until God strips off their disguise. They are not true, because they are not of God. We learn in Christian Science that all inharmony of mortal mind or body is illusion, possessing neither reality nor identity though seeming to be real and identical.
Domináis la situación si entendéis que la existencia mortal es un estado de autoengaño y no la verdad del ser. La mente mortal está produciendo constantemente en el cuerpo mortal los resultados de opiniones falsas; y continuará haciéndolo, hasta que el error mortal sea privado de sus poderes imaginarios por la Verdad, la cual barre la telaraña de ilusión mortal. El estado más cristiano es el de rectitud y de comprensión espiritual, y ése es el más apropiado para sanar a los enfermos.
You command the situation if you understand that mortal existence is a state of self-deception and not the truth of being. Mortal mind is constantly producing on mortal body the results of false opinions; and it will continue to do so, until mortal error is deprived of its imaginary powers by Truth, which sweeps away the gossamer web of mortal illusion. The most Christian state is one of rectitude and spiritual understanding, and this is best adapted for healing the sick.
Cuando la ilusión de enfermedad o de pecado os tiente, aferraos firmemente a Dios y Su idea. No permitáis que nada sino Su semejanza more en vuestro pensamiento. No consintáis que ni el temor ni la duda oscurezcan vuestro claro sentido y serena confianza, que el reconocimiento de la vida armoniosa — como lo es la Vida eternamente— puede destruir cualquier concepto doloroso o creencia acerca de lo que la Vida no es. Dejad que la Ciencia Cristiana, en vez del sentido corporal, apoye vuestra comprensión del ser, y esa comprensión sustituirá al error con la Verdad, reemplazará a la mortalidad con la inmortalidad y acallará a la discordancia con la armonía.
When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought. Let neither fear nor doubt overshadow your clear sense and calm trust, that the recognition of life harmonious — as Life eternally is — can destroy any painful sense of, or belief in, that which Life is not. Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony.
La Biblia declara: "Todas las cosas por Él [el Verbo divino] fueron hechas, y sin Él nada de lo que ha sido hecho, fue hecho". Esa es la verdad eterna de la Ciencia divina. Si se comprendiera que el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte son nada, desaparecerían. Como el vapor se disuelve ante el sol, así el mal se desvanecería ante la realidad del bien. El uno tiene que ocultar al otro. ¡Cuán importante es, pues, escoger el bien como la realidad! El hombre está subordinado a Dios, el Espíritu, y a nada más. El ser de Dios es infinitud, libertad, armonía y felicidad sin límites. "Donde está el Espíritu del Señor, allí hay libertad". Como los sumos sacerdotes de antaño, el hombre tiene libertad "para entrar en el Lugar Santísimo" —el reino de Dios.
The Bible declares: "All things were made by Him [the divine Word]; and without Him was not anything made that was made." This is the eternal verity of divine Science. If sin, sickness, and death were understood as nothingness, they would disappear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the other. How important, then, to choose good as the reality! Man is tributary to God, Spirit, and to nothing else. God's being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." Like the archpriests of yore, man is free "to enter into the holiest," — the realm of God.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
