3 Reconoced que Jehová es Dios; El nos hizo, y no nosotros a nosotros mismos; pueblo suyo somos, y ovejas de su prado.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
5 Has aumentado, oh Jehová Dios mío, tus maravillas; y tus pensamientos para con nosotros, no es posible contarlos ante ti. Si yo anunciare y hablare de ellos, no pueden ser enumerados.
5 Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
2 … acudieron algunos y dieron aviso a Josafat, diciendo: Contra ti viene una gran multitud del otro lado del mar, y de Siria;
3 Entonces él tuvo temor; y Josafat humilló su rostro para consultar a Jehová, e hizo pregonar ayuno a todo Judá.
4 Y se reunieron los de Judá para pedir socorro a Jehová; y también de todas las ciudades de Judá vinieron a pedir ayuda a Jehová.
14 Estaba allí Jahaziel…sobre el cual vino el Espíritu de Jehová en medio de la reunión;
15 Y dijo: … Jehová os dice así: No temáis ni os amedrentéis delante de esta multitud tan grande, porque no es vuestra la guerra, sino de Dios.
17 No habrá para qué peleéis vosotros en este caso; paraos, estad quietos, y ved la salvación de Jehová con vosotros. Oh Judá y Jerusalén, no temáis ni desmayéis; salid mañana contra ellos, porque Jehová estará con vosotros.
18 Entonces Josafat se inclinó rostro a tierra, y asimismo todo Judá y los moradores de Jerusalén se postraron delante de Jehová, y adoraron a Jehová.
20 Y cuando se levantaron. … Y mientras ellos salían, Josafat, estando en pie, dijo: … Creed en Jehová vuestro Dios, y estaréis seguros; creed a sus profetas, y seréis prosperados.
21 … puso a algunos que cantasen y alabasen a Jehová, vestidos de ornamentos sagrados, mientras salía la gente armada, y que dijesen: Glorificad a Jehová, porque su misericordia es para siempre.
22 Y cuando comenzaron a entonar cantos de alabanza, Jehová puso contra los hijos de Amón, de Moab y del monte de Seir, las emboscadas de ellos mismos que venían contra Judá, y se mataron los unos a los otros.
2 …there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria;
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the Lord: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
14 Then upon Jahaziel … came the Spirit of the Lord in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, … Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord.
20 And they rose … and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, … Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21 …he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

2 Díganlo los redimidos de Jehová, Los que ha redimido del poder del enemigo,
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
7 Deje el impío su camino, y el hombre inicuo sus pensamientos, y vuélvase a Jehová, el cual tendrá de él misericordia, y al Dios nuestro, el cual será amplio en perdonar.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
14 Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su amor, yo también lo libraré; le pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi nombre.
15 Me invocará, y yo le responderé; con él estaré yo en la angustia; lo libraré y le glorificaré.
16 Lo saciaré de larga vida, y le mostraré mi salvación.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
SALVACIÓN. La Vida, la Verdad y el Amor comprendidos y demostrados como supremos sobre todo; el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte destruidos.
Salvation. Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed.
La comprensión de que la Vida es Dios, el Espíritu, prolonga nuestros días, pues fortalece nuestra confianza en la realidad imperecedera de la Vida, su omnipotencia e inmortalidad.
Esa fe descansa en un Principio comprendido. Ese Principio restituye la salud a los enfermos y trae a luz los estados perdurables y armoniosos de las cosas.
The understanding that Life is God, Spirit, lengthens our days by strengthening our trust in the deathless reality of Life, its almightiness and immortality.
This faith relies upon an understood Principle. This Principle makes whole the diseased, and brings out the enduring and harmonious phases of things.
¿Nos beneficiamos con la oración? Sí, el deseo que se eleva, hambriento de justicia, es bendecido por nuestro Padre, y no vuelve a nosotros vacío.
La oración no puede cambiar la Ciencia del ser, pero sí tiende a ponernos en armonía con ella. La bondad logra la demostración de la Verdad.
Dios es Amor. ¿Podemos pedirle que sea más? Dios es inteligencia. ¿Podemos informar a la Mente infinita de algo que no comprenda ya? ¿Esperamos cambiar la perfección? ¿Pediremos más al manantial abierto, que ya está vertiendo más de lo que aceptamos? El deseo inexpresado sí nos acerca más a la fuente de toda existencia y bienaventuranza.
Are we benefited by praying? Yes, the desire which goes forth hungering after righteousness is blessed of our Father, and it does not return unto us void.
Prayer cannot change the Science of being, but it tends to bring us into harmony with it. Goodness attains the demonstration of Truth.
God is Love. Can we ask Him to be more? God is intelligence. Can we inform the infinite Mind of anything He does not already comprehend? Do we expect to change perfection? Shall we plead for more at the open fount, which is pouring forth more than we accept? The unspoken desire does bring us nearer the source of all existence and blessedness.
¡Cuán huecos son nuestros conceptos de la Deidad! Teóricamente admitimos que Dios es bueno, omnipotente, omnipresente e infinito, y luego tratamos de informar a esa Mente infinita. Pedimos un perdón inmerecido y una efusión generosa de bendiciones. ¿Estamos realmente agradecidos por el bien ya recibido? Entonces aprovecharemos las bendiciones que tenemos, y eso nos capacitará para recibir más. La gratitud es mucho más que una mera expresión verbal de agradecimiento. Las acciones expresan más gratitud que las palabras.
Si no sentimos gratitud por la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor, y no obstante damos gracias a Dios por toda bendición, somos insinceros e incurrimos en la censura severa que nuestro Maestro dirige a los hipócritas. En tal caso, la única oración aceptable es poner el dedo sobre los labios y recordar nuestras bendiciones. Mientras el corazón está lejos de la Verdad y el Amor divinos, no podemos ocultar la ingratitud de una vida estéril.
How empty are our conceptions of Deity! We admit theoretically that God is good, omnipotent, omnipresent, infinite, and then we try to give information to this infinite Mind. We plead for unmerited pardon and for a liberal outpouring of benefactions. Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more. Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech.
If we are ungrateful for Life, Truth, and Love, and yet return thanks to God for all blessings, we are insincere and incur the sharp censure our Master pronounces on hypocrites. In such a case, the only acceptable prayer is to put the finger on the lips and remember our blessings. While the heart is far from divine Truth and Love, we cannot conceal the ingratitude of barren lives.
Dios sabe de lo que tenemos necesidad, antes de que se lo digamos a Él o a nuestros semejantes. Si sincera, callada y humildemente abrigamos el deseo, Dios lo bendecirá,
God knows our need before we tell Him or our fellow-beings about it. If we cherish the desire honestly and silently and humbly, God will bless it,
Lo que más necesitamos es la oración del deseo ferviente de crecer en gracia, oración que se expresa en paciencia, humildad, amor y buenas obras. Guardar los mandamientos de nuestro Maestro y seguir su ejemplo, es nuestra deuda justa para con él y lo único digno de evidenciar nuestra gratitud por todo lo que ha hecho. El culto externo no es suficiente de por sí para expresar gratitud leal y sincera, ya que él ha dicho: "Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos".
El esfuerzo constante por ser siempre buenos es oración incesante. Sus motivos se manifiestan en las bendiciones que traen —bendiciones que, aun cuando no sean reconocidas con palabras audibles, atestiguan que somos dignos de participar del Amor.
What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds. To keep the commandments of our Master and follow his example, is our proper debt to him and the only worthy evidence of our gratitude for all that he has done. Outward worship is not of itself sufficient to express loyal and heartfelt gratitude, since he has said: "If ye love me, keep my commandments."
The habitual struggle to be always good is unceasing prayer. Its motives are made manifest in the blessings they bring, — blessings which, even if not acknowledged in audible words, attest our worthiness to be partakers of Love.
El poder de Dios libera al cautivo. Ningún poder puede resistir al Amor divino.
The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love.
La Mente divina legítimamente le exige al hombre toda su obediencia, afecto y fuerza. No se hace reserva para lealtad menor alguna. La obediencia a la Verdad le da al hombre poder y fuerza. La sumisión al error resulta en pérdida de poder.
Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. Submission to error superinduces loss of power.
La Ciencia Cristiana despierta al pecador, rescata al incrédulo y levanta del lecho de dolor al enfermo desvalido. A los mudos les habla las palabras de la Verdad, y ellos responden con regocijo. Hace que el sordo oiga, que el cojo ande y que el ciego vea.
Christian Science awakens the sinner, reclaims the infidel, and raises from the couch of pain the helpless invalid. It speaks to the dumb the words of Truth, and they answer with rejoicing. It causes the deaf to hear, the lame to walk, and the blind to see.
Clamó el apóstol: "He aquí ahora el tiempo aceptable; he aquí ahora el día de salvación" —queriendo decir, no que los hombres tengan que prepararse ahora para la salvación o seguridad en un mundo futuro, sino que ahora es el tiempo de experimentar esa salvación en espíritu y en vida. Ahora es el tiempo para que los llamados dolores y placeres materiales desaparezcan, pues ambos son irreales, por ser imposibles en la Ciencia. Para romper este embeleso terrenal, los mortales tienen que adquirir la verdadera idea y el Principio divino de todo lo que realmente existe y gobierna armoniosamente al universo.
"Now," cried the apostle, "is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation," — meaning, not that now men must prepare for a future-world salvation, or safety, but that now is the time in which to experience that salvation in spirit and in life. Now is the time for so-called material pains and material pleasures to pass away, for both are unreal, because impossible in Science. To break this earthly spell, mortals must get the true idea and divine Principle of all that really exists and governs the universe harmoniously.
El Espíritu y sus formaciones son las únicas realidades del ser.
Cuando aprendamos el camino en la Ciencia Cristiana y reconozcamos al ser espiritual del hombre, veremos y comprenderemos la creación de Dios —todas las glorias de la tierra y del cielo y del hombre.
Spirit and its formations are the only realities of being.
When we learn the way in Christian Science and recognize man's spiritual being, we shall behold and understand God's creation, — all the glories of earth and heaven and man.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
