16 Porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas, las que hay en los cielos y las que hay en la tierra, visibles e invisibles; sean tronos, sean dominios, sean principados, sean potestades; todo fue creado por medio de él y para él:

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

1 Pero Jehová había dicho a Abram: Vete de tu tierra y de tu parentela, y de la casa de tu padre, a la tierra que te mostraré:
2 Y haré de ti una nación grande, y te bendeciré, y engrandeceré tu nombre, y serás bendición:

1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
15 Dijo también Dios a Abraham: A Sarai tu mujer no la llamarás Sarai, mas Sara[c] será su nombre.
16 Y la bendeciré, y también te daré de ella hijo; sí, la bendeciré, y vendrá a ser madre de naciones; reyes de pueblos vendrán de ella.
17 Entonces Abraham se postró sobre su rostro, y se rio, y dijo en su corazón: ¿A hombre de cien años ha de nacer hijo? ¿Y Sara, ya de noventa años, ha de concebir?
19 Respondió Dios: Ciertamente Sara tu mujer te dará a luz un hijo, y llamarás su nombre Isaac;[d] y confirmaré mi pacto con él como pacto perpetuo para sus descendientes después de él.
15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
11 Y Abraham y Sara eran viejos, de edad avanzada; y a Sara le había cesado ya la costumbre de las mujeres.
13 Entonces Jehová dijo a Abraham,
14 ¿Hay para Dios alguna cosa difícil? Al tiempo señalado volveré a ti, y según el tiempo de la vida, Sara tendrá un hijo.
11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
13 And the Lord said unto Abraham,
14 Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.
1 Visitó Jehová a Sara, como había dicho, e hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado.
2 Y Sara concibió y dio a Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios le había dicho.
3 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo que le nació, que le dio a luz Sara, Isaac..
5 Y era Abraham de cien años cuando nació Isaac su hijo.
1 And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2 For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
3 Por la fe entendemos haber sido constituido el universo por la palabra de Dios, de modo que lo que se ve fue hecho de lo que no se veía.
8 Por la fe Abraham, siendo llamado, obedeció para salir al lugar que había de recibir como herencia; y salió sin saber a dónde iba.
9 Por la fe habitó como extranjero en la tierra prometida como en tierra ajena, morando en tiendas con Isaac y Jacob, coherederos de la misma promesa:
10 porque esperaba la ciudad que tiene fundamentos, cuyo arquitecto y constructor es Dios.
11 Por la fe también la misma Sara, siendo estéril, recibió fuerza para concebir; y dio a luz aun fuera del tiempo de la edad, porque creyó que era fiel quien lo había prometido.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
1 Por lo cual, teniendo nosotros este ministerio según la misericordia que hemos recibido, no desmayamos;
3 Pero si nuestro evangelio está aún encubierto, entre los que se pierden está encubierto:
4 en los cuales el dios de este siglo cegó el entendimiento de los incrédulos, para que no les resplandezca la luz del evangelio de la gloria de Cristo, el cual es la imagen de Dios.
6 Porque Dios, que mandó que de las tinieblas resplandeciese la luz, es el que resplandeció en nuestros corazones, para iluminación del conocimiento de la gloria de Dios en la faz de Jesucristo.
18 no mirando nosotros las cosas que se ven, sino las que no se ven; pues las cosas que se ven son temporales, pero las que no se ven son eternas.
1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
9 … como está escrito: Cosas que ojo no vio, ni oído oyó, Ni han subido en corazón de hombre, Son las que Dios ha preparado para los que le aman.
10 Pero Dios nos las reveló a nosotros por el Espíritu; porque el Espíritu todo lo escudriña, aun lo profundo de Dios.
12 Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que proviene de Dios, para que sepamos lo que Dios nos ha concedido.
13 lo cual también hablamos, no con palabras enseñadas por sabiduría humana, sino con las que enseña el Espíritu, acomodando lo espiritual a lo espiritual.
14 Pero el hombre natural no percibe las cosas que son del Espíritu de Dios, porque para él son locura, y no las puede entender, porque se han de discernir espiritualmente.
15 En cambio el espiritual juzga todas las cosas; pero él no es juzgado de nadie.
9 … as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
11 Tuya es, oh Jehová, la magnificencia y el poder, la gloria, la victoria y el honor; porque todas las cosas que están en los cielos y en la tierra son tuyas. Tuyo, oh Jehová, es el reino, y tú eres excelso sobre todos.
13 Ahora pues, Dios nuestro, nosotros alabamos y loamos tu glorioso nombre.
11 Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.
13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
Dios crea toda forma de realidad.
God creates all forms of reality. His thoughts are spiritual realities.
Para comprender la realidad y el orden del ser en su Ciencia, tenéis que empezar por reconocer que Dios es el Principio divino de todo lo que realmente existe. El Espíritu, la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor se combinan en uno —y son los nombres bíblicos de Dios. Toda sustancia, inteligencia, sabiduría, existencia, inmortalidad, causa y efecto pertenecen a Dios. Ésos son Sus atributos, las eternas manifestaciones del Principio divino e infinito, el Amor. Ninguna sabiduría es sabia, sino Su sabiduría; ninguna verdad es verdadera, sino la Verdad divina; ningún amor es bello, sino el Amor divino; ninguna vida es Vida, sino la divina; ningún bien existe, sino el bien que Dios concede.
To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science, you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle of all that really is. Spirit, Life, Truth, Love, combine as one, — and are the Scriptural names for God. All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, immortality, cause, and effect belong to God. These are His attributes, the eternal manifestations of the infinite divine Principle, Love. No wisdom is wise but His wisdom; no truth is true, no love is lovely, no life is Life but the divine; no good is, but the good God bestows.
El Espíritu bendice la multiplicación de sus puras y perfectas ideas. De los elementos infinitos de la Mente única emanan toda forma, color, cualidad y cantidad, y éstos son mentales, tanto primaria como secundariamente. Su naturaleza espiritual se discierne sólo por medio de los sentidos espirituales.
Spirit blesses the multiplication of its own pure and perfect ideas. From the infinite elements of the one Mind emanate all form, color, quality, and quantity, and these are mental, both primarily and secondarily. Their spiritual nature is discerned only through the spiritual senses.
El universo del Espíritu refleja el poder creador del Principio divino, o la Vida, que reproduce las innumerables formaciones de la Mente y gobierna la multiplicación de la idea compuesta, el hombre. El árbol y la hierba dan fruto no porque tengan algún poder propagativo propio, sino porque reflejan a la Mente que lo incluye todo. Un mundo material sugiere una mente mortal y un hombre que es creador. La creación divina y científica proclama a la Mente inmortal y al universo creado por Dios.
A creación está siempre manifestándose y tiene que seguir manifestándose perpetuamente, debido a la naturaleza de su fuente inagotable. El sentido mortal invierte esa manifestación y llama materiales a las ideas. Así mal interpretada, la idea divina parece caer al nivel de una creencia humana o material, llamada hombre mortal. Pero la semilla está en sí misma sólo porque la Mente divina es Todo y lo reproduce todo — porque la Mente es el multiplicador y la idea infinita de la Mente, el hombre y el universo, es el producto.
The universe of Spirit reflects the creative power of the divine Principle, or Life, which reproduces the multitudinous forms of Mind and governs the multiplication of the compound idea man. The tree and herb do not yield fruit because of any propagating power of their own, but because they reflect the Mind which includes all. A material world implies a mortal mind and man a creator. The scientific divine creation declares immortal Mind and the universe created by God.
Creation is ever appearing, and must ever continue to appear from the nature of its inexhaustible source. Mortal sense inverts this appearing and calls ideas material. Thus misinterpreted, the divine idea seems to fall to the level of a human or material belief, called mortal man. But the seed is in itself, only as the divine Mind is All and reproduces all — as Mind is the multiplier, and Mind's infinite idea, man and the universe, is the product.
El Espíritu imparte la comprensión que eleva a la consciencia y conduce a toda la verdad.
Esa comprensión no es intelectual, no es el resultado de logros eruditos; es la realidad de todas las cosas sacada a la luz.
Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads into all truth.
This understanding is not intellectual, is not the result of scholarly attainments; it is the reality of all things brought to light.
Todo lo bueno o que vale, lo hizo Dios. Lo que carece de valor, o que es nocivo, Él no lo hizo —de ahí su irrealidad. En la Ciencia del Génesis leemos que Él vio todo lo que había hecho, "y he aquí que era bueno en gran manera". …El pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte deben conceptuarse tan faltos de realidad como del bien, Dios.
Everything good or worthy, God made. Whatever is valueless or baneful, He did not make, — hence its unreality. In the Science of Genesis we read that He saw everything which He had made, "and, behold, it was very good." … Sin, sickness, and death must be deemed as devoid of reality as they are of good, God.
Las llamadas leyes de la materia y de la ciencia médica jamás han hecho sanos, armoniosos e inmortales a los mortales. El hombre es armonioso cuando es gobernado por el Alma.
Dios nunca decretó una ley material para anular la ley espiritual. Si hubiera tal ley material, se opondría a la supremacía del Espíritu, Dios, e impugnaría la sabiduría del creador.
La Ciencia muestra que las opiniones y creencias mortales y materiales contradictorias emiten los efectos del error en todo momento; pero esa atmósfera de la mente mortal no puede destruir la moral y la salud, cuando se combate pronta y persistentemente con la Ciencia Cristiana. La Verdad y el Amor son un antídoto contra ese miasma mental y así vigorizan y sostienen la existencia.
The so-called laws of matter and of medical science have never made mortals whole, harmonious, and immortal. Man is harmonious when governed by Soul.
God never ordained a material law to annul the spiritual law. If there were such a material law, it would oppose the supremacy of Spirit, God, and impugn the wisdom of the creator.
Science shows that material, conflicting mortal opinions and beliefs emit the effects of error at all times, but this atmosphere of mortal mind cannot be destructive to morals and health when it is opposed promptly and persistently by Christian Science. Truth and Love antidote this mental miasma, and thus invigorate and sustain existence.
La palabra Ciencia, correctamente comprendida, se refiere únicamente a las leyes de Dios y a Su gobierno del universo, incluso el hombre. De eso se deduce que los hombres de negocios y los cultos eruditos han encontrado que la Ciencia Cristiana les aumenta su resistencia y sus poderes mentales, les amplía su discernimiento del carácter, los dota de agudeza y de amplitud de comprensión, y los habilita para exceder su capacidad usual. La mente humana, imbuida de esa comprensión espiritual, se vuelve más elástica, es capaz de mayor resistencia, se libera en cierto grado de sí misma y necesita de menos reposo. Un conocimiento de la Ciencia del ser desarrolla las habilidades y posibilidades latentes del hombre. Extiende la atmósfera del pensamiento, dando a los mortales acceso a regiones más amplias y más altas. Eleva al pensador a su ambiente natural de discernimiento y perspicacia.
The term Science, properly understood, refers only to the laws of God and to His government of the universe, inclusive of man. From this it follows that business men and cultured scholars have found that Christian Science enhances their endurance and mental powers, enlarges their perception of character, gives them acuteness and comprehensiveness and an ability to exceed their ordinary capacity. The human mind, imbued with this spiritual understanding, becomes more elastic, is capable of greater endurance, escapes somewhat from itself, and requires less repose. A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man. It extends the atmosphere of thought, giving mortals access to broader and higher realms. It raises the thinker into his native air of insight and perspicacity.
La falta de poder espiritual en la demostración limitada del cristianismo popular no puede silenciar la labor de los siglos. La consciencia espiritual y no la corporal es la que se necesita. El hombre liberado del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte presenta la verdadera semejanza o ideal espiritual.
Los sistemas de religión y medicina se ocupan de dolores y placeres físicos; mas Jesús reprendía el sufrimiento proveniente de tal causa o efecto. Se aproxima la época en que la comprensión de la verdad del ser será la base de la religión verdadera. Los mortales progresan despacio en la actualidad por temor a que se les considere ridículos. Son esclavos de la moda, del orgullo y de los sentidos. Algún día comprenderemos cómo el Espíritu, el gran arquitecto, ha creado a hombres y mujeres en la Ciencia. Debiéramos hastiarnos de lo efímero y falso y no fomentar nada que se oponga a nuestra individualidad más elevada.
The lack of spiritual power in the limited demonstration of popular Christianity does not put to silence the labor of centuries. Spiritual, not corporeal, consciousness is needed. Man delivered from sin, disease, and death presents the true likeness or spiritual ideal.
Systems of religion and medicine treat of physical pains and pleasures, but Jesus rebuked the suffering from any such cause or effect. The epoch approaches when the understanding of the truth of being will be the basis of true religion. At present mortals progress slowly for fear of being thought ridiculous. They are slaves to fashion, pride, and sense. Sometime we shall learn how Spirit, the great architect, has created men and women in Science. We ought to weary of the fleeting and false and to cherish nothing which hinders our highest selfhood.
En la Ciencia, ni la Mente produce materia, ni la materia produce mente. Ninguna mente mortal tiene el poder o el derecho o la sabiduría para crear o destruir. Todo está bajo el dominio de la Mente única, o sea Dios.
In Science, Mind neither produces matter nor does matter produce mind. No mortal mind has the might or right or wisdom to create or to destroy. All is under the control of the one Mind, even God.
Domináis la situación si entendéis que la existencia mortal es un estado de autoengaño y no la verdad del ser. La mente mortal está produciendo constantemente en el cuerpo mortal los resultados de opiniones falsas; y continuará haciéndolo, hasta que el error mortal sea privado de sus poderes imaginarios por la Verdad, la cual barre la telaraña de ilusión mortal.
You command the situation if you understand that mortal existence is a state of self-deception and not the truth of being. Mortal mind is constantly producing on mortal body the results of false opinions; and it will continue to do so, until mortal error is deprived of its imaginary powers by Truth, which sweeps away the gossamer web of mortal illusion.
La materia está hecha de la supuesta fuerza de la mente mortal; pero todo poder es Mente divina. El pensamiento finalmente será comprendido y visto en toda forma, sustancia y color, pero sin acompañamientos materiales.
Matter is made up of supposititious mortal mind-force; but all might is divine Mind. Thought will finally be understood and seen in all form, substance, and color, but without material accompaniments.
Cuando comprendamos plenamente nuestra relación con el Divino, no podremos tener ninguna otra Mente que la Suya, ningún otro Amor, sabiduría o Verdad, ningún otro concepto de la Vida, y ninguna consciencia de la existencia del error o de la materia.
When we fully understand our relation to the Divine, we can have no other Mind but His, — no other Love, wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no consciousness of the existence of matter or error.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
