13. Y os di la tierra por la cual nada trabajasteis, y las ciudades que no edificasteis, en las cuales moráis; y de las viñas y olivares que no plantasteis, coméis.
14. Ahora, pues, temed a Jehová, y servidle con integridad y en verdad;
15. …escogeos hoy a quién sirváis; si a los dioses a quienes sirvieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron al otro lado del río, o a los dioses de los amorreos en cuya tierra habitáis; pero yo y mi casa serviremos a Jehová.

1 En aquellos días Ezequías cayó enfermo de muerte. Y vino a él el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz, y le dijo: Jehová dice así: Ordena tu casa, porque morirás, y no vivirás.
2 Entonces él volvió su rostro a la pared, y oró a Jehová y dijo:
3 Te ruego, oh Jehová, te ruego que hagas memoria de que he andado delante de ti en verdad y con íntegro corazón, y que he hecho las cosas que te agradan. Y lloró Ezequías con gran lloro.

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.
2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,
3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

6 And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.

1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever. Praise ye the Lord.
46 Vino, pues, Jesús otra vez a Caná de Galilea, donde había convertido el agua en vino. Y había en Capernaum un oficial del rey, cuyo hijo estaba enfermo.
47 Este, cuando oyó que Jesús había llegado de Judea a Galilea, vino a él y le rogó que descendiese y sanase a su hijo, que estaba a punto de morir.
48 Entonces Jesús le dijo: Si no viereis señales y prodigios, no creeréis.
49 El oficial del rey le dijo: Señor, desciende antes que mi hijo muera.

46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judæa into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend. And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour, in the which Jesus said unto him, Thy son liveth: and himself believed, and his whole house.

2 Y por la mañana volvió al templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él; y sentado él, les enseñaba.
28 Les dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces conoceréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que según me enseñó el Padre, así hablo.
29 Porque el que me envió, conmigo está; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada.
30 Hablando él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él.
31 Dijo entonces Jesús a los judíos que habían creído en él: Si vosotros permaneciereis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;
32 y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os hará libres.
1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them.
28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
30 As he spake these words, many believed on him.
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
1 Así que, hermanos, os ruego por las misericordias de Dios, que presentéis vuestros cuerpos en sacrificio vivo, santo, agradable a Dios, que es vuestro culto racional.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
17 … no andéis como los otros gentiles, que andan en la vanidad de su mente,
22 … despojaos del viejo hombre, que está viciado conforme a los deseos engañosos,
23 y renovaos en el espíritu de vuestra mente,
24 y vestíos del nuevo hombre, creado según Dios en la justicia y santidad de la verdad.
25 Por lo cual, desechando la mentira, hablad verdad cada uno con su prójimo; porque somos miembros los unos de los otros.
26 Airaos, pero no pequéis; no se ponga el sol sobre vuestro enojo,
27 ni deis lugar al diablo.
29 Ninguna palabra corrompida salga de vuestra boca, sino la que sea buena para la necesaria edificación, a fin de dar gracia a los oyentes.
31 Quítense de vosotros toda amargura, enojo, ira, gritería y maledicencia, y toda malicia.
32 Antes sed benignos unos con otros, misericordiosos, perdonándoos unos a otros, como Dios también os perdonó a vosotros en Cristo.
17 … walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
22 … put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

La confianza inspirada por la Ciencia descansa en el hecho de que la Verdad es real y el error es irreal. El error es un cobarde ante la Verdad.
The confidence inspired by Science lies in the fact that Truth is real and error is unreal. Error is a coward before Truth.
La medicina del Científico Cristiano es la Mente, la Verdad divina que hace libre al hombre.
A Christian Scientist's medicine is Mind, the divine Truth that makes man free.
La Verdad trae los elementos de la libertad. Su estandarte lleva el lema inspirado por el Alma: "La esclavitud está abolida". El poder de Dios libera al cautivo. Ningún poder puede resistir al Amor divino. ¿Qué es ese supuesto poder que se opone a Dios? ¿De dónde viene? ¿Qué es aquello que ata al hombre con cadenas de hierro al pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte? Todo lo que esclavice al hombre es contrario al gobierno divino. La Verdad hace libre al hombre.
Se puede saber cuándo la Verdad empieza a ir a la vanguardia por sus pocos seguidores y la fidelidad de éstos. Así es como la marcha del tiempo lleva hacia adelante el estandarte de la libertad. Los poderes de este mundo lucharán, y ordenarán a sus centinelas que no dejen que la verdad trasponga la guardia hasta que se suscriba a sus sistemas; pero la Ciencia, no hacienda caso a las bayonetas caladas, sigue su marcha. Siempre hay algún tumulto, pero también hay quienes cierran filas alrededor del estandarte de la verdad.
Truth brings the elements of liberty. On its banner is the Soul-inspired motto, "Slavery is abolished." The power of God brings deliverance to the captive. No power can withstand divine Love. What is this supposed power, which opposes itself to God? Whence cometh it? What is it that binds man with iron shackles to sin, sickness, and death? Whatever enslaves man is opposed to the divine government. Truth makes man free.
You may know when first Truth leads by the fewness and faithfulness of its followers. Thus it is that the march of time bears onward freedom's banner. The powers of this world will fight, and will command their sentinels not to let truth pass the guard until it subscribes to their systems; but Science, heeding not the pointed bayonet, marches on. There is always some tumult, but there is a rallying to truth's standard.
Pablo tenía un concepto claro de las exigencias físicas y espirituales que la Verdad impone a los mortales, cuando dijo: "Os ruego... que presentéis vuestros cuerpos en sacrificio vivo, santo, agradable a Dios, que es vuestro culto racional". Pero el que es engendrado por las creencias de la carne y las sirve, jamás podrá alcanzar en este mundo las alturas divinas de nuestro Señor. Viene el tiempo en que el origen espiritual del hombre, la Ciencia divina que trajo a Jesús a la presencia humana, será comprendido y demostrado.
Cuando en cualquier época se enuncia por primera vez la Verdad, ésta, como la luz, "en las tinieblas resplandece, y las tinieblas no la comprendieron". Un falso sentido de vida, sustancia y mente, oculta las posibilidades divinas y oscurece a la demostración científica.
Si deseamos seguir a Cristo, la Verdad, debemos hacerlo en la forma señalada por Dios. Jesús dijo: "El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también". El que quiera llegar a la fuente y encontrar el remedio divino para todo mal, no debe tratar de ascender la cuesta de la Ciencia tomando otro camino. Toda la naturaleza enseña el amor de Dios hacia el hombre, pero el hombre no puede amar a Dios supremamente y poner todo su afecto en cosas espirituales mientras ame lo material o confíe en ello más que en lo espiritual.
Paul had a clear sense of the demands of Truth upon mortals physically and spiritually, when he said: "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." But he, who is begotten of the beliefs of the flesh and serves them, can never reach in this world the divine heights of our Lord. The time cometh when the spiritual origin of man, the divine Science which ushered Jesus into human presence, will be understood and demonstrated.
When first spoken in any age, Truth, like the light, "shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not." A false sense of life, substance, and mind hides the divine possibilities, and conceals scientific demonstration.
If we wish to follow Christ, Truth, it must be in the way of God's appointing. Jesus said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also." He, who would reach the source and find the divine remedy for every ill, must not try to climb the hill of Science by some other road. All nature teaches God's love to man, but man cannot love God supremely and set his whole affections on spiritual things, while loving the material or trusting in it more than in the spiritual.
La pregunta: ¿Qué es la Verdad? se contesta con la demostración —sanando la enfermedad así como el pecado; y esa demostración enseña que la curación cristiana confiere el máximo de salud y produce los mejores hombres.
The question, What is Truth, is answered by demonstration, — by healing both disease and sin; and this demonstration shows that Christian healing confers the most health and makes the best men.
El propósito y el motivo de vivir rectamente pueden lograrse ahora. Una vez logrado ese punto, habréis comenzado como debíais. Habréis comenzado por la tabla de sumar de la Ciencia Cristiana, y nada, salvo una mala intención, puede impedir vuestro progreso. Si trabajáis y oráis con móviles sinceros, vuestro Padre os abrirá el camino. "¿Quién os estorbó para no obedecer a la verdad?"
The purpose and motive to live aright can be gained now. This point won, you have started as you should. You have begun at the numeration-table of Christian Science, and nothing but wrong intention can hinder your advancement. Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way. "Who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?"
Para los sentidos corporales las estrictas exigencias de la Ciencia Cristiana parecen perentorias; pero los mortales se están apresurando a comprender que la Vida es Dios, el bien, y que el mal no tiene en realidad lugar ni poder en la economía humana o en la divina.
To the physical senses, the strict demands of Christian Science seem peremptory; but mortals are hastening to learn that Life is God, good, and that evil has in reality neither place nor power in the human or the divine economy.
Al tratar de deshacer los errores de los sentidos, uno deberá pagar plena y honradamente hasta el último cuadrante, hasta que todo error sea finalmente subyugado a la Verdad. El método divino de saldar la paga del pecado consiste en desenmarañar nuestros enredos y aprender por experiencia a distinguir entre los sentidos y el Alma.
In trying to undo the errors of sense one must pay fully and fairly the utmost farthing, until all error is finally brought into subjection to Truth. The divine method of paying sin's wages involves unwinding one's snarls, and learning from experience how to divide between sense and Soul.
Admitir que la enfermedad es una condición sobre la cual Dios no tiene dominio, significa presuponer que el poder omnipotente es impotente en algunas ocasiones. La ley de Cristo, o la Verdad, hace que todas las cosas sean posibles para el Espíritu;
To admit that sickness is a condition over which God has no control, is to presuppose that omnipotent power is powerless on some occasions. The law of Christ, or Truth, makes all things possible to Spirit;
La Verdad debiera echar fuera de toda individualidad al error, y por cierto lo echa. La Verdad es una espada de dos filos, que protege y guía. La Verdad coloca al querubín de la sabiduría a la entrada de la comprensión para distinguir los huéspedes que han de admitirse. Radiante de misericordia y justicia, la espada de la Verdad brilla lejos e indica la infinita distancia que media entre la Verdad y el error, entre lo material y lo espiritual —lo irreal y lo real.
Truth should, and does, drive error out of all selfhood. Truth is a two-edged sword, guarding and guiding. Truth places the cherub wisdom at the gate of understanding to note the proper guests. Radiant with mercy and justice, the sword of Truth gleams afar and indicates the infinite distance between Truth and error, between the material and spiritual, — the unreal and the real.
La Mente divina legítimamente le exige al hombre toda su obediencia, afecto y fuerza. No se hace reserva para lealtad menor alguna. La obediencia a la Verdad le da al hombre poder y fuerza. La sumisión al error resulta en pérdida de poder.
La Verdad echa fuera todos los males y métodos materialistas con la verdadera ley espiritual —la ley que da vista al ciego, oído al sordo, voz al mudo, pies al cojo. Si la Ciencia Cristiana no honra la creencia humana, sí honra la comprensión espiritual; y sólo la Mente única tiene derecho a que se le honre.
Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. Submission to error superinduces loss of power.
Truth casts out all evils and materialistic methods with the actual spiritual law, — the law which gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, voice to the dumb, feet to the lame. If Christian
Science dishonors human belief, it honors spiritual understanding; and the one Mind only is entitled to honor.
Cuando la ilusión de enfermedad o de pecado os tiente, aferraos firmemente a Dios y Su idea. No permitáis que nada sino Su semejanza more en vuestro pensamiento.
When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought.
Aferraos a la verdad del ser en contraste con el error de que la vida, la sustancia o la inteligencia puedan estar en la materia. Abogad con sincera convicción de la verdad y con clara percepción del efecto invariable, infalible y seguro de la Ciencia divina. Entonces, si vuestra fidelidad es sólo semiigual a la verdad de vuestro alegato, sanaréis al enfermo.
La Verdad es afirmativa y confiere armonía. Toda lógica metafísica está inspirada por esa regla sencilla de la Verdad, que gobierna toda realidad. Por los argumentos verídicos que uséis, y especialmente por el espíritu de Verdad y Amor que abriguéis, curaréis a los enfermos.
Echad fuera toda clase de mal. "Predicad el evangelio a toda criatura". Declarad la verdad a toda forma de error. Tumores, úlceras, tubérculos, inflamaciones, dolores, coyunturas deformadas, son sombras de sueños diurnos, imágenes oscuras del pensamiento mortal, que huyen ante la luz de la Verdad.
Stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the error that life, substance, or intelligence can be in matter. Plead with an honest conviction of truth and a clear perception of the unchanging, unerring, and certain effect of divine Science. Then, if your fidelity is half equal to the truth of your plea, you will heal the sick.
Truth is affirmative, and confers harmony. All metaphysical logic is inspired by this simple rule of Truth, which governs all reality. By the truthful arguments you employ, and especially by the spirit of Truth and Love which you entertain, you will heal the sick.
Cast out all manner of evil. "Preach the gospel to every creature." Speak the truth to every form of error. Tumors, ulcers, tubercles, inflammation, pain, deformed joints, are waking dream-shadows, dark images of mortal thought, which flee before the light of Truth.
Si la Verdad está venciendo al error en tu conducta y conversación diarias, finalmente puedes decir: "He peleado la buena batalla... he guardado la fe", porque eres un hombre mejor.
Si el discípulo está progresando espiritualmente, está esforzándose por entrar. Se aparta constantemente del sentido material y mira hacia las cosas imperecederas del Espíritu. Si es sincero, será diligente desde el comienzo y ganará un poco cada día en la dirección correcta, hasta que al fin acabe su carrera con gozo.
If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, "I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith," because you are a better man.
If the disciple is advancing spiritually, he is striving to enter in. He constantly turns away from material sense, and looks towards the imperishable things of Spirit. If honest, he will be in earnest from the start, and gain a little each day in the right direction, till at last he finishes his course with joy.
La Verdad es siempre victoriosa.
Truth is always the victor.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
