8. Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9. For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
20. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
35. He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
36. And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
37. And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
38. He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

4 Oye, Israel: Jehová nuestro Dios, Jehová uno es.
5 Y amarás a Jehová tu Dios de todo tu corazón, y de toda tu alma, y con todas tus fuerzas.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
1 Hijo mío, no te olvides de mi ley, Y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos;
2 Porque largura de días y años de vida Y paz te aumentarán.
4 Y hallarás gracia y buena opiniόn Ante los ojos de Dios y de los hombres.

1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

1 Entonces Jesús fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto, para ser tentado por el diablo.
2 Y después de haber ayunado cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, tuvo hambre.
3 Y vino a él el tentador, y le dijo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se conviertan en pan.
4 Él respondió y dijo: Escrito está: No solo de pan vivirá el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.

4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

24 Ninguno puede servir a dos señores; porque o aborrecerá al uno y amará al otro, o estimará al uno y menospreciará al otro. No podéis servir a Dios y a las riquezas.
25 Por tanto os digo: No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber; ni por vuestro cuerpo, qué habéis de vestir. ¿No es la vida más que el alimento, y el cuerpo más que el vestido?
26 Mirad las aves del cielo, que no siembran, ni siegan, ni recogen en graneros; y vuestro Padre celestial las alimenta. ¿No valéis vosotros mucho más que ellas?
31 No os afanéis, pues, diciendo: ¿Qué comeremos, o qué beberemos, o qué vestiremos?
32 Porque los gentiles buscan todas estas cosas; pero vuestro Padre celestial sabe que tenéis necesidad de todas estas cosas.
33 Mas buscad primeramente el reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
27 Lo que os digo en tinieblas, decidlo en la luz; y lo que oís al oído, proclamadlo desde las azoteas.
28 Y no temáis a los que matan el cuerpo, mas el alma no pueden matar; temed más bien a aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno.
27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
14 Y saliendo Jesús, vio una gran multitud, y tuvo compasión de ellos, y sanó a los que de ellos estaban enfermos.
15 Cuando anochecía, se acercaron a él sus discípulos, diciendo: El lugar es desierto, y la hora ya pasada; despide a la multitud, para que vayan por las aldeas y compren de comer.
16 Jesús les dijo: No tienen necesidad de irse; dadles vosotros de comer.
17 Y ellos dijeron: No tenemos aquí sino cinco panes y dos peces.
18 Él les dijo: Traédmelos acá.
19 Entonces mandó a la gente recostarse sobre la hierba; y tomando los cinco panes y los dos peces, y levantando los ojos al cielo, bendijo, y partió y dio los panes a los discípulos, y los discípulos a la multitud.
20 Y comieron todos, y se saciaron; y recogieron lo que sobró de los pedazos, doce cestas llenas.
21 Y los que comieron fueron como cinco mil hombres, sin contar las mujeres y los niños.
22 En seguida Jesús hizo a sus discípulos entrar en la barca e ir delante de él a la otra ribera, entre tanto que él despedía a la multitud.
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18 He said, Bring them hither to me.
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
24 Cuando vio, pues, la gente que Jesús no estaba allí, ni sus discípulos, entraron en las barcas y fueron a Capernaum, buscando a Jesús.
26 Respondió Jesús y les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo que me buscáis, no porque habéis visto las señales, sino porque comisteis el pan y os saciasteis.
31 Nuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, como está escrito: Pan del cielo les dio a comer.
32 Y Jesús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No os dio Moisés el pan del cielo, mas mi Padre os da el verdadero pan del cielo.
33 Porque el pan de Dios es aquel que descendió del cielo y da vida al mundo.
38 Porque he descendido del cielo, no para hacer mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió.
40 Y esta es la voluntad del que me ha enviado: Que todo aquel que ve al Hijo, y cree en él, tenga vida eterna; y yo le resucitaré en el día postrero.
24 When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
26 Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
19 ¿O ignoráis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo, el cual está en vosotros, el cual tenéis de Dios, y que no sois vuestros?
20 Porque habéis sido comprados por precio; glorificad, pues, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Porque sabemos que si nuestra morada terrestre, este tabernáculo, se deshiciere, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha de manos, eterna, en los cielos.
6 Así que vivimos confiados siempre, y sabiendo que entre tanto que estamos en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor
7 (porque por fe andamos, no por vista);
8 pero confiamos, y más quisiéramos estar ausentes del cuerpo, y presentes al Señor.
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
23 … y todo vuestro ser, espíritu, alma y cuerpo, sea guardado irreprensible para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
23 ... and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Alma es sinónimo de Espíritu, Dios, el Principio creador, gobernante e infinito, que está fuera de la forma finita y que las formas solo reflejan.
Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative, governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms only reflect.
La identidad es el reflejo del Espíritu, el reflejo en formas múltiples y variadas del Principio viviente, el Amor. El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma. Los indios norteamericanos tuvieron algunas vislumbres de la realidad fundamental, al llamar a cierto hermoso lago "La sonrisa del Gran Espíritu". Separado del hombre, el cual expresa al Alma, el Espíritu no tendría entidad; el hombre, divorciado del Espíritu, perdería su entidad. Pero no hay, no puede haber, tal separación, porque el hombre coexiste con Dios.
Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love. Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul. The Indians caught some glimpses of the underlying reality, when they called a certain beautiful lake "the smile of the Great Spirit." Separated from man, who expresses Soul, Spirit would be a nonentity; man, divorced from Spirit, would lose his entity. But there is, there can be, no such division, for man is coexistent with God.
La Mente divina es el Alma del hombre y da al hombre señorío sobre todas las cosas. El hombre no fue creado partiendo de una base material, ni ordenado a obedecer leyes materiales que el Espíritu nunca hizo; su esfera está en los estatutos espirituales, en la ley superior de la Mente.
The divine Mind is the Soul of man, and gives man dominion over all things. Man was not created from a material basis, nor bidden to obey material laws which Spirit never made; his province is in spiritual statutes, in the higher law of Mind.
En la Ciencia divina, el hombre es sostenido por Dios, el Principio divino del ser. La tierra, al mandato de Dios, produce alimento para el uso del hombre. Sabiendo eso, Jesús una vez dijo: "No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber" —no arrogándose la prerrogativa de su creador, sino reconociendo que Dios, el Padre y la Madre de todos, es capaz de alimentar y vestir al hombre como lo hace con los lirios.
In divine Science, man is sustained by God, the divine Principle of being. The earth, at God's command, brings forth food for man's use. Knowing this, Jesus once said, "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink," — presuming not on the prerogative of his creator, but recognizing God, the Father and Mother of all, as able to feed and clothe man as He doth the lilies.
El Espíritu alimenta y viste debidamente todo objeto a medida que se evidencia en la línea de la creación espiritual, así expresando tiernamente la paternidad y maternidad de Dios.
Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God.
La Mente divina, que forma el capullo y la flor, cuidará del cuerpo humano, así como viste al lirio; pero que no intervenga ningún mortal en el gobierno de Dios, interponiendo las leyes de los conceptos errados y humanos.
La naturaleza superior del hombre no está gobernada por la inferior; si lo estuviera, el orden de la sabiduría estaría invertido. Nuestros equivocados puntos de vista acerca de la vida, ocultan la armonía eterna y producen los males de que nos quejamos.
The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God's government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed. Our false views of life hide eternal harmony, and produce the ills of which we complain.
Cristo, la Verdad, da a los mortales alimento y vestido temporarios, hasta que lo material, transformado por lo ideal, desaparezca, y el hombre sea vestido y alimentado espiritualmente. Dice San Pablo: "Ocupaos en vuestra salvación con temor y temblor". Jesús dijo: "No temáis, manada pequeña, porque a vuestro Padre le ha placido daros el reino".
Christ, Truth, gives mortals temporary food and clothing until the material, transformed with the ideal, disappears, and man is clothed and fed spiritually. St. Paul says, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling:" Jesus said, "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."
La Ciencia revela que el Espíritu, o Alma, no está en el cuerpo y que Dios no está en el hombre, sino que es reflejado por el hombre. Lo mayor no puede estar en lo menor. La creencia que lo mayor pueda estar en lo menor es un error que hace mal. Un punto primordial de la Ciencia del Alma es que el Principio no está en su idea. El Espíritu, el Alma, no está encerrado en el hombre y jamás está en la materia.
Science reveals Spirit, Soul, as not in the body, and God as not in man but as reflected by man. The greater cannot be in the lesser. The belief that the greater can be in the lesser is an error that works ill. This is a leading point in the Science of Soul, that Principle is not in its idea. Spirit, Soul, is not confined in man, and is never in matter.
Cuando decís: "El cuerpo del hombre es material", yo digo con Pablo: Desead más bien "estar ausentes del cuerpo, y presentes al Señor". Abandonad vuestra creencia material de que hay mente en la materia, y tened una sola Mente, a saber, Dios; porque esa Mente forma su propia semejanza. No es posible que por medio de la comprensión que la Ciencia confiere, el hombre pierda su identidad; y la noción de semejante posibilidad es más absurda que la conclusión de que los tonos musicales individuales se pierden al originarse la armonía.
When you say, "Man's body is material," I say with Paul: Be "willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." Give up your material belief of mind in matter, and have but one Mind, even God; for this Mind forms its own likeness. The loss of man's identity through the understanding which Science confers is impossible; and the notion of such a possibility is more absurd than to conclude that individual musical tones are lost in the origin of harmony.
Las llamadas leyes de la materia y de la ciencia médica jamás han hecho sanos, armoniosos e inmortales a los mortales. El hombre es armonioso cuando es gobernado por el Alma. De ahí la importancia de comprender la verdad del ser, que revela las leyes de la existencia espiritual.
Dios nunca decretó una ley material para anular la ley espiritual. Si hubiera tal ley material, se opondría a la supremacía del Espíritu, Dios, e impugnaría la sabiduría del creador. Jesús anduvo sobre las olas, alimentó a las multitudes, sanó a los enfermos y resucitó a los muertos en directa oposición a las leyes materiales. Sus actos eran la demostración de la Ciencia, venciendo las falsas pretensiones de los sentidos o leyes materiales.
The so-called laws of matter and of medical science have never made mortals whole, harmonious, and immortal. Man is harmonious when governed by Soul. Hence the importance of understanding the truth of being, which reveals the laws of spiritual existence.
God never ordained a material law to annul the spiritual law. If there were such a material law, it would oppose the supremacy of Spirit, God, and impugn the wisdom of the creator. Jesus walked on the waves, fed the multitude, healed the sick, and raised the dead in direct opposition to material laws. His acts were the demonstration of Science, overcoming the false claims of material sense or law.
Sabiendo que el Alma y sus atributos se manifestaban eternamente por medio del hombre, el Maestro sanaba a los enfermos, daba vista a los ciegos, oído a los sordos, pies a los cojos, revelando así la acción científica de la Mente divina sobre mentes y cuerpos humanos, y dando una major comprensión del Alma y la salvación.
Knowing that Soul and its attributes were forever manifested through man, the Master healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, feet to the lame, thus bringing to light the scientific action of the divine Mind on human minds and bodies and giving a better understanding of Soul and salvation.
La receta para la belleza es tener menos ilusión y más Alma, retirarse de la creencia de dolor o placer en el cuerpo y refugiarse en la inmutable calma y gloriosa Libertad de la armonía espiritual.
El Amor jamás pierde de vista a la hermosura. Su aureola se posa sobre su objeto. Uno se maravilla de que un amigo pueda parecer menos que bello. Hombres y mujeres de mayor edad y experiencia debieran madurar en salud e inmortalidad, en lugar de caer en tinieblas o tristeza. La Mente inmortal alimenta al cuerpo con frescura y belleza celestiales, impartiéndole bellas imágenes de pensamiento y destruyendo los sufrimientos de los sentidos, que cada día se acercan más a su propia tumba.
The recipe for beauty is to have less illusion and more Soul, to retreat from the belief of pain or pleasure in the body into the unchanging calm and glorious freedom of spiritual harmony.
Love never loses sight of loveliness. Its halo rests upon its object. One marvels that a friend can ever seem less than beautiful. Men and women of riper years and larger lessons ought to ripen into health and immortality, instead of lapsing into darkness or gloom. Immortal Mind feeds the body with supernal freshness and fairness, supplying it with beautiful images of thought and destroying the woes of sense which each day brings to a nearer tomb.
¿Decís que aún no ha llegado la hora de reconocer que el Alma es sustancial y capaz de dominar el cuerpo? Recordad a Jesús, que hace casi diecinueve siglos demostró el poder del Espíritu y dijo: "El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también", y que también dijo: "La hora viene, y ahora es, cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu y en verdad". Do you say the time has not yet come in which to recognize Soul as substantial and able to control the body? Remember Jesus, who nearly nineteen centuries ago demonstrated the power of Spirit and said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also," and who also said, "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth." "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation," said Paul.
Tarde o temprano aprenderemos que las cadenas de la capacidad finita del hombre las forja la ilusión de que él vive en el cuerpo en lugar de en el Alma, en la materia en lugar de en el Espíritu.
Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter instead of in Spirit.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna y los sentidos materiales y la voluntad humana no tienen cabida.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
