1. ¡Cuán amables son tus moradas, oh Jehová de los ejércitos!
2. Anhela mi alma y aun ardientemente desea los atrios de Jehová; Mi corazón y mi carne cantan al Dios vivo.

1. How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
2. My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3. Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee.
7. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
9. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
10. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

9 Porque sacia al alma menesterosa, Y llena de bien al alma hambrienta.
8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
1 En aquel tiempo iba Jesús por los sembrados en un día de reposo;
22 Entonces fue traído a él un endemoniado, ciego y mudo; y le sanó, de tal manera que el ciego y mudo veía y hablaba.
23 Y toda la gente estaba atónita, y decía: ¿Será este aquel Hijo de David?
24 Mas los fariseos, al oírlo, decían: Este no echa fuera los demonios sino por Beelzebú, príncipe de los demonios.
25 Sabiendo Jesús los pensamientos de ellos, les dijo: Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es asolado, y toda ciudad o casa dividida contra sí misma, no permanecerá.
26 Y si Satanás echa fuera a Satanás, contra sí mismo está dividido; ¿cómo, pues, permanecerá su reino?
27 Y si yo echo fuera los demonios por Beelzebú, ¿por quién los echan vuestros hijos? Por tanto, ellos serán vuestros jueces.

23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
1 Había un hombre de los fariseos que se llamaba Nicodemo, un principal entre los judíos.
2 Este vino a Jesús de noche, y le dijo: Rabí, sabemos que has venido de Dios como maestro; porque nadie puede hacer estas señales que tú haces, si no está Dios con él.
3 Respondió Jesús y le dijo: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de nuevo, no puede ver el reino de Dios.
4 Nicodemo le dijo: ¿Cómo puede un hombre nacer siendo viejo? ¿Puede acaso entrar por segunda vez en el vientre de su madre, y nacer?
5 Respondió Jesús: De cierto, de cierto te digo, que el que no naciere de agua y del Espíritu, no puede entrar en el reino de Dios.
6 Lo que es nacido de la carne, carne es; y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, espíritu es.
7 No te maravilles de que te dije: Os es necesario nacer de nuevo.

1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
19 ¿O ignoráis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo, el cual está en vosotros, el cual tenéis de Dios, y que no sois vuestros?
20 Porque habéis sido comprados por precio; glorificad, pues, a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
34 Velad debidamente, y no pequéis; porque algunos no conocen a Dios; para vergüenza vuestra lo digo.
35 Pero dirá alguno: ¿Cómo resucitarán los muertos? ¿Con qué cuerpo vendrán?
36 Necio, lo que tú siembras no se vivifica, si no muere antes.
37 Y lo que siembras no es el cuerpo que ha de salir, sino el grano desnudo, ya sea de trigo o de otro grano;
38 pero Dios le da el cuerpo como él quiso, y a cada semilla su propio cuerpo.
42 Así también es la resurrección de los muertos. Se siembra en corrupción, resucitará en incorrupción.

54 Y cuando esto corruptible se haya vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal se haya vestido de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que está escrita: Sorbida es la muerte en victoria.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Porque sabemos que si nuestra morada terrestre, este tabernáculo, se deshiciere, tenemos de Dios un edificio, una casa no hecha de manos, eterna, en los cielos.
2 Y por esto también gemimos, deseando ser revestidos de aquella nuestra habitación celestial;
3 pues así seremos hallados vestidos, y no desnudos.
4 Porque asimismo los que estamos en este tabernáculo gemimos con angustia; porque no quisiéramos ser desnudados, sino revestidos, para que lo mortal sea absorbido por la vida.
5 Mas el que nos hizo para esto mismo es Dios, quien nos ha dado las arras del Espíritu.
6 Así que vivimos confiados siempre, y sabiendo que entre tanto que estamos en el cuerpo, estamos ausentes del Señor
7 (porque por fe andamos, no por vista);
8 pero confiamos, y más quisiéramos estar ausentes del cuerpo, y presentes al Señor.
9 Por tanto procuramos también, o ausentes o presentes, serle agradables.
1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
23 Y el mismo Dios de paz os santifique por completo; y todo vuestro ser, espíritu, alma y cuerpo, sea guardado irreprensible para la venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Alma es sinónimo de Espíritu, Dios, el Principio creador, gobernante e infinito, que está fuera de la forma finita y que las formas solo reflejan.
Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative, governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms only reflect.
Pregunta. — ¿Qué son el cuerpo y el Alma?
Respuesta. — La identidad es el reflejo del Espíritu, el reflejo en formas múltiples y variadas del Principio viviente, el Amor. El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma. Los indios norteamericanos tuvieron algunas vislumbres de la realidad fundamental, al llamar a cierto hermoso lago "La sonrisa del Gran Espíritu". Separado del hombre, el cual expresa al Alma, el Espíritu no tendría entidad; el hombre, divorciado del Espíritu, perdería su entidad. Pero no hay, no puede haber, tal separación, porque el hombre coexiste con Dios.
Question. — What are body and Soul?
Answer. — Identity is the reflection of Spirit, the reflection in multifarious forms of the living Principle, Love. Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul. The Indians caught some glimpses of the underlying reality, when they called a certain beautiful lake "the smile of the Great Spirit." Separated from man, who expresses Soul, Spirit would be a nonentity; man, divorced from Spirit, would lose his entity. But there is, there can be, no such division, for man is coexistent with God.

Temple. Body; the idea of Life, substance, and intelligence; the superstructure of Truth; the shrine of Love;
La cualidad vivificante de la Mente es el Espíritu, no la materia.
The life-giving quality of Mind is Spirit, not matter.
La Vida es la ley del Alma, la ley del espíritu de la Verdad, y el Alma jamás existe sin su representante. Le es tan imposible al ser individual del hombre morir o desaparecer en la inconsciencia como le es al Alma, pues ambos son inmortales. Si el hombre cree en la muerte ahora, tendrá que dejar de creer en ella al aprender que no hay realidad en la muerte, puesto que la verdad del ser es imperecedera. La creencia de que la existencia depende de la materia tiene que ser combatida y vencida por la Ciencia, antes que se pueda entender la Vida y alcanzar la armonía.
Life is the law of Soul, even the law of the spirit of Truth, and Soul is never without its representative. Man's individual being can no more die nor disappear in unconsciousness than can Soul, for both are immortal. … The belief that existence is contingent on matter must be met and mastered by Science, before Life can be understood and harmony obtained.
El Alma tiene recursos infinitos con que bendecir a la humanidad, y alcanzaríamos la felicidad más fácilmente y la conservaríamos con mayor seguridad si la buscásemos en el Alma. Sólo los goces más elevados pueden satisfacer los anhelos del hombre inmortal. No podemos circunscribir la felicidad dentro de los límites del sentido personal. Los sentidos no proporcionan goces verdaderos.
Soul has infinite resources with which to bless mankind, and happiness would be more readily attained and would be more secure in our keeping, if sought in Soul. Higher enjoyments alone can satisfy the cravings of immortal man. We cannot circumscribe happiness within the limits of personal sense. The senses confer no real enjoyment.
No debemos atribuir más y más inteligencia a la materia, sino siempre menos, si queremos ser sabios y sanos. La Mente divina, que forma el capullo y la flor, cuidará del cuerpo humano, así como viste al lirio; pero que no intervenga ningún mortal en el gobierno de Dios, interponiendo las leyes de los conceptos errados y humanos.
La naturaleza superior del hombre no está gobernada por la inferior; si lo estuviera, el orden de la sabiduría estaría invertido. Nuestros equivocados puntos de vista acerca de la vida, ocultan la armonía eterna y producen los males de que nos quejamos. El hecho de que los mortales creen en leyes materiales y rechazan la Ciencia de la Mente no hace que la materialidad sea lo primero y la ley superior del Alma lo postrero.
The divine Mind, which forms the bud and blossom, will care for the human body, even as it clothes the lily; but let no mortal interfere with God's government by thrusting in the laws of erring, human concepts.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed. Our false views of life hide eternal harmony, and produce the ills of which we complain. Because mortals believe in material laws and reject the Science of Mind, this does not make materiality first and the superior law of Soul last.
El cuerpo parece actuar por sí mismo sólo porque la mente mortal nada sabe respecto de sí misma, de sus propias acciones y sus resultados —no sabe que la causa predisponente, remota y ocasional de todos los efectos malos es una ley de la llamada mente mortal y no de la materia. La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte.
The body seems to be self-acting, only because mortal mind is ignorant of itself, of its own actions, and of their results, — ignorant that the predisposing, remote, and exciting cause of all bad effects is a law of so-called mortal mind, not of matter. Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death.
Ese concepto científico del ser, que abandona la materia por el Espíritu, de ningún modo sugiere la absorción del hombre en la Deidad y la pérdida de su identidad, sino que confiere al hombre una individualidad más amplia, una esfera de pensamiento y acción más extensa, un amor más expansivo, una paz más elevada y más permanente.
This scientific sense of being, forsaking matter for Spirit, by no means suggests man's absorption into Deity and the loss of his identity, but confers upon man enlarged individuality, a wider sphere of thought and action, a more expansive love, a higher and more permanent peace.
La Ciencia del ser revela que el hombre es perfecto, así como el Padre es perfecto, porque el Alma, o la Mente, del hombre espiritual es Dios, el Principio divino de todo ser, y porque ese hombre real es gobernado por el Alma y no por los sentidos, por la ley del Espíritu y no por las supuestas leyes de la materia.
The Science of being reveals man as perfect, even as the Father is perfect, because the Soul, or Mind, of the spiritual man is God, the divine Principle of all being, and because this real man is governed by Soul instead of sense, by the law of Spirit, not by the so-called laws of matter.
Nuestras teorías cometen el mismo error respecto al Alma y el cuerpo que el cometido por Ptolomeo respecto al sistema solar. Insisten en que el alma está en el cuerpo y que la mente, por tanto, está subordinada a la materia. La ciencia astronómica ha destruido la falsa teoría respecto a las relaciones de los cuerpos celestes, y la Ciencia Cristiana destruirá el error mayor en cuanto a nuestros cuerpos terrestres. Entonces aparecerán la idea y el Principio verdaderos del hombre. El desacierto ptolemaico no pudo afectar la armonía del ser como lo hace el error respecto al alma y al cuerpo, el cual invierte el orden de la Ciencia y asigna a la materia el poder y la prerrogativa del Espíritu, de modo que el hombre se convierte en la criatura absolutamente más débil e inarmónica del universo.
Our theories make the same mistake regarding Soul and body that Ptolemy made regarding the solar system. They insist that soul is in body and mind therefore tributary to matter. Astronomical science has destroyed the false theory as to the relations of the celestial bodies, and Christian Science will surely destroy the greater error as to our terrestrial bodies. The true idea and Principle of man will then appear. The Ptolemaic blunder could not affect the harmony of being as does the error relating to soul and body, which reverses the order of Science and assigns to matter the power and prerogative of Spirit, so that man becomes the most absolutely weak and inharmonious creature in the universe.
Estar “presentes con el Señor" es tener, no meramente fe o éxtasis emotivos, sino la efectiva demostración y comprensión de la Vida, tal como se revela en la Ciencia Cristiana. Estar "con el Señor" significa obedecer la ley de Dios, estar gobernados absolutamente por el Amor divino —por el Espíritu, no por la materia.
Estad conscientes por un solo momento de que la Vida y la inteligencia son puramente espirituales —que no están en la materia ni proceden de ella— y el cuerpo no proferirá entonces ninguna queja. Si estáis sufriendo a causa de una creencia en la enfermedad, os encontraréis bien repentinamente. El pesar se convierte en gozo cuando el cuerpo está gobernado por la Vida, por la Verdad y por el Amor espirituales. De ahí la esperanza que nos da la promesa de Jesús: "El que en mí cree, las obras que yo hago, él las hará también;... porque yo voy al Padre" —[porque el Ego está ausente del cuerpo y presente con la Verdad y el Amor].
To be "present with the Lord" is to have, not mere emotional ecstasy or faith, but the actual demonstration and understanding of Life as revealed in Christian Science. To be "with the Lord" is to be in obedience to the law of God, to be absolutely governed by divine Love, — by Spirit, not by matter.
Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual, — neither in nor of matter, — and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well. Sorrow is turned into joy when the body is controlled by spiritual Life, Truth, and Love. Hence the hope of the promise Jesus bestows: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; ... because I go unto my Father," — [because the Ego is absent from the body, and present with Truth and Love.]
Si no nos elevamos más alto que la fe ciega, no alcanzamos la Ciencia de la curación ni llegamos a comprender que la existencia está en el Alma y no en los sentidos. Comprendemos la Vida en la Ciencia divina sólo a medida que vivimos por encima del sentido corporal y lo corregimos. La proporción en que aceptemos las reivindicaciones del bien o las del mal, determina la armonía de nuestra existencia —nuestra salud, nuestra longevidad y nuestro cristianismo.
If we rise no higher than blind faith, the Science of healing is not attained, and Soul-existence, in the place of sense-existence, is not comprehended. We apprehend Life in divine Science only as we live above corporeal sense and correct it. Our proportionate admission of the claims of good or of evil determines the harmony of our existence, — our health, our longevity, and our Christianity.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna y los sentidos materiales y la voluntad humana no tienen cabida.
Dost thou "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind"? This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master, and material sense and human will have no place.
Cuando la humanidad comprenda esta Ciencia, será la ley de la Vida para el hombre —es decir, la ley superior del Alma, que prevalece sobre el sentido material mediante la armonía y la inmortalidad.
When humanity does understand this Science, it will become the law of Life to man, — even the higher law of Soul, which prevails over material sense through harmony and immortality.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
