8. Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.
9. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works.
11. Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.
12. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Leccion Sermon
17 De modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura es; las cosas viejas pasaron; he aquí todas son hechas nuevas.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
1 Saulo, respirando aún amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al sumo sacerdote,
2 y le pidió cartas para las sinagogas de Damasco, a fin de que si hallase algunos hombres o mujeres de este Camino, los trajese presos a Jerusalén.
3 Mas yendo por el camino, aconteció que al llegar cerca de Damasco, repentinamente le rodeó un resplandor de luz del cielo:
4 y cayendo en tierra, oyó una voz que le decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?
5 Él dijo: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y le dijo: Yo soy Jesús, a quien tú persigues; dura cosa te es dar coces contra el aguijón.
6 Él, temblando y temeroso, dijo: Señor, ¿qué quieres que yo haga? Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate y entra en la ciudad, y se te dirá lo que debes hacer.
7 Y los hombres que iban con Saulo se pararon atónitos, oyendo a la verdad la voz, mas sin ver a nadie.
8 Entonces Saulo se levantó de tierra, y abriendo los ojos, no veía a nadie; así que, llevándole por la mano, le metieron en Damasco,
9 donde estuvo tres días sin ver, y no comió ni bebió.
10 Había entonces en Damasco un discípulo llamado Ananías, a quien el Señor dijo en visión: Ananías. Y él respondió: Heme aquí, Señor.
11 Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y ve a la calle que se llama Derecha, y busca en casa de Judas a uno llamado Saulo, de Tarso; porque he aquí, él ora,
12 y ha visto en visión a un varón llamado Ananías, que entra y le pone las manos encima para que recobre la vista.
13 Entonces Ananías respondió: Señor, he oído de muchos acerca de este hombre, cuántos males ha hecho a tus santos en Jerusalén;
14 y aun aquí tiene autoridad de los principales sacerdotes para prender a todos los que invocan tu nombre.
15 El Señor le dijo: Ve, porque instrumento escogido me es este, para llevar mi nombre en presencia de los gentiles, y de reyes, y de los hijos de Israel;
17 Fue entonces Ananías y entró en la casa, y poniendo sobre él las manos, dijo: Hermano Saulo, el Señor Jesús, que se te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recibas la vista y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo.
18 Y al momento le cayeron de los ojos como escamas, y recibió al instante la vista; y levantándose, fue bautizado.
20 En seguida predicaba a Cristo en las sinagogas, diciendo que este era el Hijo de Dios.
21 Y todos los que le oían estaban atónitos, y decían: ¿No es este el que asolaba en Jerusalén a los que invocaban este nombre, y a eso vino acá, para llevarlos presos ante los principales sacerdotes?
22 Pero Saulo mucho más se esforzaba, y confundía a los judíos que moraban en Damasco, demostrando que Jesús era el Cristo.
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

1 Si, pues, habéis resucitado con Cristo, buscad las cosas de arriba,
11 donde no hay griego ni judío, circuncisión ni incircuncisión, bárbaro ni escita, siervo ni libre, sino que Cristo es el todo, y en todos.
15 Y la paz de Dios gobierne en vuestros corazones, a la que asimismo fuisteis llamados en un solo cuerpo; y sed agradecidos.
17 Y todo lo que hacéis, sea de palabra o de hecho, hacedlo todo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios Padre por medio de él.
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
6 Por nada estéis afanosos, sino sean conocidas vuestras peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego, con acción de gracias.
7 Y la paz de Dios, que sobrepasa todo entendimiento, guardará vuestros corazones y vuestros pensamientos en Cristo Jesús.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
36 Porque de él, y por él, y para él, son todas las cosas. A él sea la gloria por los siglos. Amén.
36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.
No hay que desesperar jamás de un corazón sincero; pero hay pocas esperanzas para quienes se enfrentan sólo esporádicamente con su maldad y luego tratan de ocultarla. Sus oraciones son índices que no corresponden con su carácter. Participan secretamente en el pecado, y Jesús dijo que tales apariencias eran "semejantes a sepulcros blanqueados... llenos... de toda inmundicia".
Si un hombre, aunque en apariencia fervoroso y entregado a la oración, es impuro y por tanto insincero, ¿cuál debe de ser el comentario acerca de él?
We never need to despair of an honest heart; but there is little hope for those who come only spasmodically face to face with their wickedness and then seek to hide it. Their prayers are indexes which do not correspond with their character. They hold secret fellowship with sin, and such externals are spoken of by Jesus as "like unto whited sepulchres ... full ... of all uncleanness."
If a man, though apparently fervent and prayerful, is impure and therefore insincere, what must be the comment upon him?
Pablo no fue, al comienzo, discípulo de Jesús sino perseguidor de sus seguidores. Cuando la verdad se le apareció por vez primera en la Ciencia, Pablo quedó ciego, y su ceguera se hizo sentir; pero la luz espiritual pronto le capacitó para seguir el ejemplo y las enseñanzas de Jesús, sanando a los enfermos y predicando el cristianismo por toda el Asia Menor, Grecia y hasta en la Roma imperial.
Pablo escribe: "Si Cristo [la Verdad] no resucitó, vana es entonces nuestra predicación". Es decir, si la idea de la supremacía del Espíritu, que es el verdadero concepto del ser, no viene a vuestro pensamiento, no podéis ser beneficiados por lo que digo.
Paul was not at first a disciple of Jesus but a persecutor of Jesus' followers. When the truth first appeared to him in Science, Paul was made blind, and his blindness was felt; but spiritual light soon enabled him to follow the example and teachings of Jesus, healing the sick and preaching Christianity throughout Asia Minor, Greece, and even in imperial Rome.
Paul writes, "If Christ [Truth] be not risen, then is our preaching vain." That is, if the idea of the supremacy of Spirit, which is the true conception of being, come not to your thought, you cannot be benefited by what I say.
Si trabajáis y oráis con móviles sinceros, vuestro Padre os abrirá el camino. "¿Quién os estorbó para no obedecer a la verdad?"
Saulo de Tarso percibió el camino —el Cristo o la Verdad — sólo cuando su sentido incierto acerca de lo que era justo se sometió a un sentido espiritual, que es siempre justo. Entonces se transformó. Su pensamiento adoptó un punto de vista más noble, y su vida se espiritualizó más. Comprendió el mal que había hecho en perseguir a los cristianos, cuya religión no había comprendido, y en humildad tomó el nuevo nombre de Pablo. Percibió por primera vez la idea verdadera del Amor y aprendió una lección en la Ciencia divina.
La reforma viene al comprender que no hay placer duradero en el mal, y también al adquirir un afecto por el bien de acuerdo con la Ciencia, la cual revela la verdad inmortal de que ni el placer ni el dolor, ni los apetitos ni las pasiones, pueden existir en la materia o debido a ella, mientras que la Mente divina puede destruir y destruye las creencias erróneas de placer, dolor o temor y todos los apetitos pecaminosos de la mente humana.
Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way. "Who did hinder you, that ye should not obey the truth?"
Saul of Tarsus beheld the way — the Christ, or Truth — only when his uncertain sense of right yielded to a spiritual sense, which is always right. Then the man was changed. Thought assumed a nobler outlook, and his life became more spiritual. He learned the wrong that he had done in persecuting Christians, whose religion he had not understood, and in humility he took the new name of Paul. He beheld for the first time the true idea of Love, and learned a lesson in divine Science.
Reform comes by understanding that there is no abiding pleasure in evil, and also by gaining an affection for good according to Science, which reveals the immortal fact that neither pleasure nor pain, appetite nor passion, can exist in or of matter, while divine Mind can and does destroy the false beliefs of pleasure, pain, or fear and all the sinful appetites of the human mind.
¿Estamos realmente agradecidos por el bien ya recibido? Entonces aprovecharemos las bendiciones que tenemos, y eso nos capacitará para recibir más. La gratitud es mucho más que una mera expresión verbal de agradecimiento. Las acciones expresan más gratitud que las palabras.
Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more. Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech.
San Pablo escribió: "Despojémonos de todo peso y del pecado que nos asedia, y corramos con paciencia la carrera que tenemos por delante"; esto es, echemos a un lado el yo material y el sentido material, y busquemos el Principio y la Ciencia divinos de toda curación.
Si la Verdad está venciendo al error en tu conducta y conversación diarias, finalmente puedes decir: "He peleado la buena batalla... he guardado la fe", porque eres un hombre mejor.
St. Paul wrote, "Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us;" that is, let us put aside material self and sense, and seek the divine Principle and Science of all healing.
If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, "I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith," because you are a better man.
Un solo Dios infinito, el bien, unifica a los hombres y a las naciones; constituye la hermandad del hombre; pone fin a las guerras; cumple el mandato de las Escrituras: "Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo"; aniquila a la idolatría pagana y a la cristiana —todo lo que es injusto en los códigos sociales, civiles, criminales, políticos y religiosos; establece la igualdad de los sexos; anula la maldición que pesa sobre el hombre, y no deja nada que pueda pecar, sufrir, ser castigado o destruido.
One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, "Love thy neighbor as thyself;" annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed.
Millones de mentes sin prejuicios —sencillos buscadores de la Verdad, fatigados peregrinos, sedientos en el desierto— esperan con anhelo descanso y refrigerio. Dadles un vaso de agua fría en nombre de Cristo y jamás temáis las consecuencias. ¿Qué importaría si el viejo dragón arrojara un nuevo río para ahogar la idea-Cristo? No podrá ni ahogar vuestra voz con sus rugidos ni volver a hundir al mundo en las profundas aguas del caos y la antigua noche. En esta época la tierra ayudará a la mujer; la idea espiritual será comprendida. Quienes estén preparados para la bendición que impartís, darán gracias. Las aguas serán pacificadas, y el Cristo mandará a las olas.
Millions of unprejudiced minds — simple seekers for Truth, weary wanderers, athirst in the desert — are waiting and watching for rest and drink. Give them a cup of cold water in Christ's name, and never fear the consequences. … Those ready for the blessing you impart will give thanks. The waters will be pacified, and Christ will command the wave.
¡Gloria a Dios y paz a los corazones que luchan! Cristo ha rodado la piedra de la puerta de la esperanza y fe humanas, y mediante la revelación y la demostración de la vida en Dios, las ha elevado a una posible unión con la idea espiritual del hombre y su Principio divino, el Amor.
Glory be to God, and peace to the struggling hearts! Christ hath rolled away the stone from the door of human hope and faith, and through the revelation and demonstration of life in God, hath elevated them to possible at-one-ment with the spiritual idea of man and his divine Principle, Love.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
