“¿No sabrá el que enseña al hombre la ciencia?”

2. Yo soy Jehová tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto, de casa de servidumbre.
3. No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí.
4. No te harás imagen, ni ninguna semejanza de lo que esté arriba en el cielo, ni abajo en la tierra, ni en las aguas debajo de la tierra.
6. Porque Jehová da la sabiduría, y de su boca viene el conocimiento y la inteligencia.
7. El provee de sana sabiduría a los rectos; Es escudo a los que caminan rectamente.
8. Es el que guarda las veredas del juicio, y preserva el camino de sus santos.
2. I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
6. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
7. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
8. He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
Leccion Sermon
2 …los que teméis mi nombre, nacerá el Sol de justicia, y en sus alas traerá salvación; y saldréis, y saltaréis como becerros de la manada.
3 Hollaréis a los malos, los cuales serán ceniza bajo las plantas de vuestros pies, en el día en que yo actúe, ha dicho Jehová de los ejércitos.
4 Acordaos de la ley de Moisés mi siervo, al cual encargué en Horeb ordenanzas y leyes para todo Israel.
2 unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.
1 Cuando David y sus hombres vinieron a Siclag al tercer día, los de Amalec habían invadido el Neguev y a Siclag, y habían asolado a Siclag y le habían prendido fuego.
2 Y se habían llevado cautivas a las mujeres y a todos los que estaban allí, desde el menor hasta el mayor; pero a nadie habían dado muerte, sino se los habían llevado al seguir su camino.
3 Vino, pues, David con los suyos a la ciudad, y he aquí que estaba quemada, y sus mujeres y sus hijos e hijas habían sido llevados cautivos.
4 Entonces David y la gente que con él estaba alzaron su voz y lloraron, hasta que les faltaron las fuerzas para llorar.
5 Las dos mujeres de David, Ahinoam jezreelita y Abigail la que fue mujer de Nabal el de Carmel, también eran cautivas.
6 Y David se angustió mucho, porque el pueblo hablaba de apedrearlo, pues todo el pueblo estaba en amargura de alma, cada uno por sus hijos y por sus hijas; mas David se fortaleció en Jehová su Dios.
8 Y David consultó a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Perseguiré a estos merodeadores? ¿Los podré alcanzar? Y él le dijo: Síguelos, porque ciertamente los alcanzarás, y de cierto librarás a los cautivos.
9 Partió, pues, David, él y los seiscientos hombres que con él estaban, y llegaron hasta el torrente de Besor, donde se quedaron algunos.
10 Y David siguió adelante con cuatrocientos hombres;
11 Y hallaron en el campo a un hombre egipcio, el cual trajeron a David, y le dieron pan, y comió, y le dieron a beber agua.
15 Y le dijo David: ¿Me llevarás tú a esa tropa?
16 Lo llevó, pues; y he aquí que estaban desparramados sobre toda aquella tierra, comiendo y bebiendo y haciendo fiesta,
17 Y los hirió David desde aquella mañana hasta la tarde del día siguiente;
18 Y libró David todo lo que los amalecitas habían tomado, y asimismo libertó David a sus dos mujeres.
19 Y no les faltó cosa alguna, chica ni grande, así de hijos como de hijas, del robo, y de todas las cosas que les habían tomado; todo lo recuperó David.
1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;
2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.
3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
8 And David inquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
9 So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.
10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men:
11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;
15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company?
16 And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing,
17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day:
18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.
19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.
14 Y Jesús volvió en el poder del Espíritu a Galilea,
40 Al ponerse el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos de diversas enfermedades los traían a él; y él, poniendo las manos sobre cada uno de ellos, los sanaba.
14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee:
40 Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
22 Dijo luego a sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué comeréis; ni por el cuerpo, qué vestiréis.
23 La vida es más que la comida, y el cuerpo que el vestido.
24 Considerad los cuervos, que ni siembran, ni siegan; que ni tienen despensa, ni granero, y Dios los alimenta. ¿No valéis vosotros mucho más que las aves?
27 Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen; no trabajan, ni hilan; mas os digo, que ni aun Salomón con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.
28 Y si así viste Dios la hierba que hoy está en el campo, y mañana es echada al horno, ¿cuánto más a vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
29 Vosotros, pues, no os preocupéis por lo que habéis de comer, ni por lo que habéis de beber, ni estéis en ansiosa inquietud.
30 Porque todas estas cosas buscan las gentes del mundo; pero vuestro Padre sabe que tenéis necesidad de estas cosas.
31 Mas buscad el reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
19 Respondió entonces Jesús, y les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: No puede el Hijo hacer nada por sí mismo, sino lo que ve hacer al Padre; porque todo lo que el Padre hace, también lo hace el Hijo igualmente.
20 Porque el Padre ama al Hijo, y le muestra todas las cosas que él hace; y mayores obras que estas le mostrará, de modo que vosotros os maravilléis.
30 No puedo yo hacer nada por mí mismo; según oigo, así juzgo; y mi juicio es justo, porque no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió, la del Padre.
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
14 Mas a la mitad de la fiesta subió Jesús al templo, y enseñaba.
15 Y se maravillaban los judíos, diciendo: ¿Cómo sabe éste letras, sin haber estudiado?
16 Jesús les respondió y dijo: Mi doctrina no es mía, sino de aquel que me envió.
14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
17 … la sabiduría que es de lo alto es primeramente pura, después pacífica, amable, benigna, llena de misericordia y de buenos frutos, sin incertidumbre ni hipocresía.
17 …the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
1 Hijo mío, no te olvides de mi ley, y tu corazón guarde mis mandamientos;
5 Fíate de Jehová de todo tu corazón, y no te apoyes en tu propia prudencia.
6 Reconócelo en todos tus caminos, y él enderezará tus veredas.
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
DIOS. El gran YO SOY; el que todo lo sabe, que todo lo ve, que es todo acción, todo sabiduría, todo amor, y que es eterno; Principio; Mente; Alma; Espíritu; Vida; Verdad; Amor; toda sustancia; inteligencia.
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.
MENTE. El único Yo, o Nosotros; Espíritu, Alma, Principio divino, sustancia, Vida, Verdad, Amor —únicos; el Dios único; no lo que está en el hombre, sino el Principio divino, o Dios, de quien el hombre es la expresión plena y perfecta; la Deidad, que delinea pero que no es delineada.
Mind. The only I, or Us ; the only Spirit, Soul, divine Principle, substance, Life, Truth, Love; the one God; not that which is in man, but the divine Principle, or God, of whom man is the full and perfect expression; Deity, which outlines but is not outlined.
La verdadera jurisdicción del mundo está en la Mente, que gobierna todo efecto y reconoce que toda causalidad está establecida en la Mente divina.
The real jurisdiction of the world is in Mind, controlling every effect and recognizing all causation as vested in divine Mind.
Sólo la Mente posee todas las facultades, toda la percepción y comprensión. Por tanto, los dones mentales no están a merced de la organización y la descomposición —pues de lo contrario los gusanos mismos podrían deshacer al hombre.
Mind alone possesses all faculties, perception, and comprehension. Therefore mental endowments are not at the mercy of organization and decomposition, — otherwise the very worms could unfashion man.
La medicina del Científico Cristiano es la Mente, la Verdad divina que hace libre al hombre. Un Científico Cristiano nunca recomienda la higiene material y jamás manipula.
A Christian Scientist’s medicine is Mind, the divine Truth that makes man free. A Christian Scientist never recommends material hygiene, never manipulates.
La Mente puede curar, y esa Mente debe ser divina, no humana. La Mente trasciende cualquier otro poder, y finalmente reemplazará todo otro medio en la curación. Para curar por la Ciencia, no debéis ignorar las exigencias morales y espirituales de la Ciencia ni faltar a ellas. La ignorancia moral o el pecado afecta vuestra demostración e impide que ésta se eleve a la norma de la Ciencia Cristiana.
Mind can heal, and this Mind must be divine, not human. Mind transcends all other power, and will ultimately supersede all other means in healing. In order to heal by Science, you must not be ignorant of the moral and spiritual demands of Science nor disobey them. Moral ignorance or sin affects your demonstration, and hinders its approach to the standard in Christian Science.
Dios sabe de lo que tenemos necesidad, antes de que se lo digamos a Él o a nuestros semejantes. Si sincera, callada y humildemente abrigamos el deseo, Dios lo bendecirá, y correremos menos riesgo de abrumar nuestros deseos verdaderos con un torrente de palabras.
God knows our need before we tell Him or our fellow-beings about it. If we cherish the desire honestly and silently and humbly, God will bless it, and we shall incur less risk of over-whelming our real wishes with a torrent of words.
Dios no es influido por el hombre. El "oído divino" no es un nervio auditivo. Es la Mente que todo lo oye y todo lo sabe, quien siempre conoce toda necesidad del hombre y la satisfará.
God is not influenced by man. The “divine ear” is not an auditory nerve. It is the all-hearing and all-knowing Mind, to whom each need of man is always known and by whom it will be supplied.
El Padre en secreto es invisible a los sentidos corporales, pero sabe todas las cosas y recompensa según los móviles, no según las palabras. Para entrar en el corazón de la oración, la puerta de los sentidos errados tiene que estar cerrada. Los labios tienen que enmudecer y el materialismo callar, para que el hombre pueda tener audiencia con el Espíritu, el Principio divino, o sea, el Amor, que destruye todo error.
The Father in secret is unseen to the physical senses, but He knows all things and rewards according to motives, not according to speech. To enter into the heart of prayer, the door of the erring senses must be closed. Lips must be mute and materialism silent, that man may have audience with Spirit, the divine Principle, Love, which destroys all error.
Es prerrogativa de la Mente divina y siempre presente, y del pensamiento que está acorde con esta Mente, conocer el pasado, el presente y el futuro.
El conocimiento de la Ciencia del ser nos capacita para comunicarnos más ampliamente con la Mente divina, para prever y predecir los acontecimientos que conciernen al bienestar universal, para estar divinamente inspirados — sí, para obtener el alcance de la Mente ilimitada
Comprender que la Mente es infinita, que no está limitada por la corporalidad, que no depende del oído y del ojo para el sonido o la vista, ni de los músculos y los huesos para la locomoción, es un paso hacia la Ciencia de la Mente, por medio de la cual percibimos la naturaleza y la existencia del hombre.
It is the prerogative of the ever-present, divine Mind, and of thought which is in rapport with this Mind, to know the past, the present, and the future.
Acquaintance with the Science of being enables us to commune more largely with the divine Mind, to foresee and foretell events which concern the universal welfare, to be divinely inspired, — yea, to reach the range of fetterless Mind.
To understand that Mind is infinite, not bounded by corporeality, not dependent upon the ear and eye for sound or sight nor upon muscles and bones for locomotion, is a step towards the Mind-science by which we discern man’s nature and existence.
Cuando pacientemente esperamos en Dios y honradamente buscamos la Verdad, El endereza nuestra vereda.
When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path.
Las exigencias de la Verdad son espirituales y llegan al cuerpo por medio de la Mente. El mejor intérprete de las necesidades del hombre dijo: "No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber".
Si hay leyes materiales que evitan la enfermedad, ¿qué es, entonces, lo que la causa? No es la ley divina, pues Jesús sanó a los enfermos y echó fuera el error, siempre en oposición a las leyes físicas, nunca en obediencia a ellas.
The demands of Truth are spiritual, and reach the body through Mind. The best interpreter of man’s needs said: “Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink.”
If there are material laws which prevent disease, what then causes it? Not divine law, for Jesus healed the sick and cast out error, always in opposition, never in obedience, to physics.
El dominio de la Mente sobre el universo, incluso el hombre, ya no es una cuestión discutible, sino Ciencia demostrable. Jesús ilustró el Principio divino y el poder de la Mente inmortal sanando la enfermedad y el pecado y destruyendo los fundamentos de la muerte.
Mind’s control over the universe, including man, is no longer an open question, but is demonstrable Science. Jesus illustrated the divine Principle and the power of immortal Mind by healing sickness and sin and destroying the foundations of death.
El género humano se mejorará por medio de la Ciencia y el cristianismo. De la necesidad de elevar a la raza nace el hecho de que la Mente puede hacerlo; porque la Mente puede impartir pureza en lugar de impureza, fuerza en lugar de flaqueza y salud en lugar de enfermedad. La Verdad es un alterante para todo el organismo y puede "sanarlo completamente".
Mankind will improve through Science and Christianity. The necessity for uplifting the race is father to the fact that Mind can do it; for Mind can impart purity instead of impurity, strength instead of weakness, and health instead of disease. Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it “every whit whole.”
Uno dice: "Cuido bien de mi cuerpo". Para hacerlo, se requiere la influencia pura y enaltecedora de la Mente divina sobre el cuerpo, y el Científico Cristiano cuida tanto mejor de su cuerpo cuanto más lo deja fuera de su pensamiento y, como el Apóstol Pablo, está deseoso más bien de "estar ausente del cuerpo, y presente al Señor".
One says: “I take good care of my body.” To do this, the pure and exalting influence of the divine Mind on the body is requisite, and the Christian Scientist takes the best care of his body when he leaves it most out of his thought, and, like the Apostle Paul, is “willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
La Mente es la fuente de todo movimiento, y no hay inercia que demore o detenga su acción perpetua y armoniosa. La Mente es la misma Vida, Amor y sabiduría "ayer, y hoy, y por los siglos". La materia y sus efectos —el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte— son estados de la mente mortal, los cuales operan, reaccionan y luego se acaban. No son realidades de la Mente. No son ideas sino ilusiones. El Principio es absoluto. No admite error, sino que se basa en la comprensión.
Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action. Mind is the same Life, Love, and wisdom “yesterday, and to-day, and forever.” Matter and its effects — sin, sickness, and death — are states of mortal mind which act, react, and then come to a stop. They are not facts of Mind. They are not ideas, but illusions. Principle is absolute. It admits of no error, but rests upon understanding.
Cuando comprendamos plenamente nuestra relación con el Divino, no podremos tener ninguna otra Mente que la Suya, ningún otro Amor, sabiduría o Verdad, ningún otro concepto de la Vida, y ninguna consciencia de la existencia del error o de la materia.
When we fully understand our relation to the Divine, we can have no other Mind but His, — no other Love, wisdom, or Truth, no other sense of Life, and no consciousness of the existence of matter or error.
Debiera entenderse a fondo que todos los hombres tienen una sola Mente, un solo Dios y Padre, una sola Vida, Verdad y Amor. El género humano se perfeccionará en la medida en que se evidencie ese hecho, cesarán las guerras y se establecerá la verdadera hermandad del hombre. No teniendo otros dioses, no recurriendo a ninguna otra sino a la única Mente perfecta para que le guíe, el hombre es la semejanza de Dios, puro y eterno, y tiene esa Mente que estaba también en Cristo.
It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established. Having no other gods, turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, having that Mind which was also in Christ.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animadversión ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
