1. Por tanto, es necesario que con más diligencia atendamos a las cosas que hemos oído, no sea que nos deslicemos.
2. Porque si la palabra dicha por medio de los ángeles fue firme, y toda transgresión y desobediencia recibió justa retribución;
3. ¿cómo escaparemos nosotros, si descuidamos una salvación tan grande?
6. pero alguien testificó en cierto lugar, diciendo: ¿Qué es el hombre, para que te acuerdes de él, O el hijo del hombre, para que le visites?

1. Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation?

Leccion Sermon
1 Jehová, tú eres mi Dios; te exaltaré, alabaré tu nombre, porque has hecho maravillas; tus consejos antiguos son verdad y firmeza.
4 Porque fuiste fortaleza al pobre, fortaleza al menesteroso en su aflicción, refugio contra el turbión, sombra contra el calor; porque el ímpetu de los violentos es como turbión contra el muro.
7 Y destruirá en este monte la cubierta con que están cubiertos todos los pueblos, y el velo que envuelve a todas las naciones.
8 Destruirá a la muerte para siempre; y enjugará Jehová el Señor toda lágrima de todos los rostros; y quitará la afrenta de su pueblo de toda la tierra; porque Jehová lo ha dicho.

4 For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

La Vida es, siempre ha sido, y siempre será independiente de la materia; pues la Vida es Dios, y el hombre es la idea de Dios, formado no material sino espiritualmente, y no sujeto a la descomposición y al polvo. El Salmista dijo del hombre: "Le hiciste señorear sobre las obras de Tus manos; todo lo pusiste debajo de sus pies".
Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter; for Life is God, and man is the idea of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not subject to decay and dust. The Psalmist said: "Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands. Thou hast put all things under his feet."
La Vida es imperecedera. La Vida es el origen y la finalidad del hombre, y jamás se alcanza por medio de la muerte, sino que se logra caminando por el sendero de la Verdad, tanto antes como después de lo que se llama muerte.
Life is deathless. Life is the origin and ultimate of man, never attainable through death, but gained by walking in the pathway of Truth both before and after that which is called death.
El camino por el cual se aprende a conocer la inmortalidad y la vida, no es eclesiástico sino cristiano, no es humano sino divino, no es físico sino metafísico, no es material sino científicamente espiritual. La filosofía, la ética y la superstición humanas no ofrecen Principio divino demostrable por el cual los mortales puedan escapar del pecado; sin embargo, escapar del pecado es lo que la Biblia exige.
The way through which immortality and life are learned is not ecclesiastical but Christian, not human but divine, not physical but metaphysical, not material but scientifically spiritual. Human philosophy, ethics, and superstition afford no demonstrable divine Principle by which mortals can escape from sin; yet to escape from sin, is what the Bible demands.
Los mortales no deben imaginarse que la creencia en la experiencia de la muerte los despertará a una existencia glorificada.
La salvación universal se basa en progreso y probación, y es inalcanzable sin ellos.
Mortals need not fancy that belief in the experience of death will awaken them to glorified being.
Universal salvation rests on progression and probation, and is unattainable without them.
El progreso nace de la experiencia. Es la maduración del hombre mortal mediante la cual se abandona lo mortal por lo inmortal. Bien aquí o en el más allá, el sufrimiento o la Ciencia tiene que destruir todas las ilusiones con respecto a la vida y la mente y regenerar el sentido y el yo materiales. Tenemos que despojarnos del viejo hombre con sus hechos. Nada que sea sensual o pecaminoso es inmortal. La muerte de un falso concepto material y la del pecado, no la muerte de la materia orgánica, es lo que revela que el hombre y la Vida son armoniosos, reales y eternos.
Progress is born of experience. It is the ripening of mortal man, through which the mortal is dropped for the immortal. Either here or hereafter, suffering or Science must destroy all illusions regarding life and mind, and regenerate material sense and self. The old man with his deeds must be put off. Nothing sensual or sinful is immortal. The death of a false material sense and of sin, not the death of organic matter, is what reveals man and Life, harmonious, real, and eternal.
El estado físico inalterado de Jesús, después de lo que pareció ser su muerte, fue seguido por su exaltación sobre todas las condiciones materiales; y esta exaltación explicó su ascensión y reveló inequívocamente el estado probatorio y progresivo más allá de la tumba.
Jesus' unchanged physical condition after what seemed to be death was followed by his exaltation above all material conditions; and this exaltation explained his ascension, and revealed unmistakably a probationary and progressive state beyond the grave.
La muerte no es sino otra fase del sueño de que la existencia pueda ser material. Nada puede perturbar a la armonía del ser ni poner fin a la existencia del hombre en la Ciencia. El hombre es lo mismo después que antes de fracturado un hueso o guillotinado el cuerpo. Si el hombre nunca ha de vencer la muerte, ¿por qué dicen las Escrituras: "El postrer enemigo que será destruido es la muerte"? El tenor de la Palabra indica que obtendremos la victoria sobre la muerte en la proporción en que venzamos al pecado. La gran dificultad reside en la ignorancia de lo que es Dios. Dios, la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor hacen imperecedero al hombre. Debe reconocerse que la Mente inmortal, la cual gobierna todo, es suprema en el llamado reino físico, tanto como en el espiritual.
El sueño de muerte tiene que ser vencido por la Mente aquí o en el más allá. El pensamiento despertará de su propia afirmación material: "Estoy muerto", para percibir esta palabra de la Verdad resonando cual toque de clarín: "No hay muerte, no hay inacción, ni acción enfermiza, ni acción excesiva, ni reacción".
Death is but another phase of the dream that existence can be material. Nothing can interfere with the harmony of being nor end the existence of man in Science. Man is the same after as before a bone is broken or the body guillotined. If man is never to overcome death, why do the Scriptures say, "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death"? The tenor of the Word shows that we shall obtain the victory over death in proportion as we overcome sin. The great difficulty lies in ignorance of what God is. God, Life, Truth, and Love make man undying. Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual.
The dream of death must be mastered by Mind here or hereafter. Thought will waken from its own material declaration, "I am dead," to catch this trumpet-word of Truth, "There is no death, no inaction, diseased action, overaction, nor reaction."
No tenemos derecho a decir que la vida depende de la materia ahora, pero que no dependerá de ella después de la muerte. No podemos pasar aquí nuestros días en ignorancia de la Ciencia de la Vida y esperar que hemos de encontrar allende la tumba un premio por esa ignorancia. La muerte no nos hará armoniosos e inmortales en recompensa de la ignorancia. Si aquí no prestamos atención a la Ciencia Cristiana, que es espiritual y eterna, no estaremos preparados para la Vida espiritual en el más allá.
We have no right to say that life depends on matter now, but will not depend on it after death. We cannot spend our days here in ignorance of the Science of Life, and expect to find beyond the grave a reward for this ignorance. Death will not make us harmonious and immortal as a recompense for ignorance. If here we give no heed to Christian Science, which is spiritual and eternal, we shall not be ready for spiritual Life hereafter.
La creencia, inculcada por la enseñanza, de que el Alma está en el cuerpo, hace que los mortales consideren la muerte como un amigo, como un medio para pasar de la mortalidad hacia la inmortalidad y la felicidad. La Biblia califica a la muerte de enemigo, y Jesús venció a la muerte y a la sepultura en vez de rendirse a ellas. Él era "el camino". Para él, por lo tanto, la muerte no era el umbral que tenía que cruzar para entrar a la gloria viviente.

The educated belief that Soul is in the body causes mortals to regard death as a friend, as a stepping-stone out of mortality into immortality and bliss. The Bible calls death an enemy, and Jesus overcame death and the grave instead of yielding to them. He was "the way." To him, therefore, death was not the threshold over which he must pass into living glory.
"Now," cried the apostle, "is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation," — meaning, not that now men must prepare for a future-world salvation, or safety, but that now is the time in which to experience that salvation in spirit and in life. Now is the time for so-called material pains and material pleasures to pass away, for both are unreal, because impossible in Science. To break this earthly spell, mortals must get the true idea and divine Principle of all that really exists and governs the universe harmoniously. This thought is apprehended slowly, and the interval before its attainment is attended with doubts and defeats as well as triumphs.
La Ciencia Cristiana ordena al hombre a dominar las propensiones —refrenar el odio con la bondad, vencer la lujuria con la castidad, la venganza con el amor, y superar el engaño con la honradez. Sofocad esos errores en sus primeras etapas si no queréis albergar a un ejército de conspiradores contra la salud, la felicidad y el buen éxito.
Christian Science commands man to master the propensities, — to hold hatred in abeyance with kindness, to conquer lust with chastity, revenge with charity, and to overcome deceit with honesty. Choke these errors in their early stages, if you would not cherish an army of conspirators against health, happiness, and success.
A menos que la armonía y la inmortalidad del hombre se evidencien más, no estamos ganando la verdadera idea de Dios; y el cuerpo reflejará lo que lo gobierna, ya sea la Verdad o el error, la comprensión o la creencia, el Espíritu o la materia. Por lo tanto "vuelve ahora en amistad con Él, y tendrás paz". Sé alerta, sobrio y vigilante. El camino que lleva a la comprensión de que Dios es la única Vida, es recto y angosto.
Unless the harmony and immortality of man are becoming more apparent, we are not gaining the true idea of God; and the body will reflect what governs it, whether it be Truth or error, understanding or belief, Spirit or matter. Therefore "acquaint now thyself with Him, and be at peace." Be watchful, sober, and vigilant. The way is straight and narrow, which leads to the understanding that God is the only Life.
Cuando las falsas creencias humanas se enteran, aun en grado mínimo, de que son falsas, empiezan a desaparecer. Un conocimiento del error y sus procedimientos debe preceder a la comprensión de la Verdad que destruye al error, hasta que todo el error mortal y material finalmente desaparezca y se comprenda y reconozca el hecho eterno de que el hombre creado por el Espíritu y del Espíritu es la verdadera semejanza de su Hacedor.
When false human beliefs learn even a little of their own falsity, they begin to disappear. A knowledge of error and of its operations must precede that understanding of Truth which destroys error, until the entire mortal, material error finally disappears, and the eternal verity, man created by and of Spirit, is understood and recognized as the true likeness of his Maker.
Quitar del pensamiento confianzas equivocadas y testimonios materiales a fin de que aparezcan las verdades espirituales del ser, ése es el gran logro por el cual eliminaremos lo falso y daremos entrada a lo verdadero. Así podremos establecer en la verdad el templo, o cuerpo, "cuyo arquitecto y constructor es Dios".
To divest thought of false trusts and material evidences in order that the spiritual facts of being may appear, — this is the great attainment by means of which we shall sweep away the false and give place to the true. Thus we may establish in truth the temple, or body, "whose builder and maker is God."

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
