9. Antes bien, como está escrito: cosas que ojo no vio, ni oído oyó, ni han subido en corazón de hombre, son las que Dios ha preparado para los que le aman.
10. Pero Dios nos las reveló a nosotros por el Espíritu;
12. Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que proviene de Dios, para que sepamos lo que Dios nos ha concedido,
13. Lo cual también hablamos, no con palabras enseñadas por sabiduría humana, sino con las que enseña el Espíritu, acomodando lo espiritual a lo espiritual.
14. Pero el hombre natural no percibe las cosas que son del Espíritu de Dios, porque para él son locura, y no las puede entender, porque se han de discernir espiritualmente.
9. As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit.
12. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Leccion Sermon
1 Levántate, resplandece; porque ha venido tu luz, y la gloria de Jehová ha nacido sobre ti.
2 Porque he aquí que tinieblas cubrirán la tierra, y oscuridad las naciones; mas sobre ti amanecerá Jehová, y sobre ti será vista su gloria.
3 Y andarán las naciones a tu luz, y los reyes al resplandor de tu nacimiento.
4 Alza tus ojos alrededor y mira,
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see:
8 Tenía el rey de Siria guerra contra Israel, y consultando con sus siervos, dijo: En tal y tal lugar estará mi campamento.
9 Y el varón de Dios envió a decir al rey de Israel: Mira que no pases por tal lugar, porque los sirios van allí.
10 Entonces el rey de Israel envió a aquel lugar que el varón de Dios había dicho; y así lo hizo una y otra vez con el fin de cuidarse.
11 Y el corazón del rey de Siria se turbó por esto; y llamando a sus siervos, les dijo: ¿No me declararéis vosotros quién de los nuestros es del rey de Israel?
12 Entonces uno de los siervos dijo: No, rey señor mío, sino que el profeta Eliseo está en Israel, el cual declara al rey de Israel las palabras que tú hablas en tu cámara más secreta.
13 Y él dijo: Id, y mirad dónde está, para que yo envíe a prenderlo. Y le fue dicho: He aquí que él está en Dotán.
14 Entonces envió el rey allá gente de a caballo, y carros, y un gran ejército, los cuales vinieron de noche, y sitiaron la ciudad.
15 Y se levantó de mañana y salió el que servía al varón de Dios, y he aquí el ejército que tenía sitiada la ciudad, con gente de a caballo y carros. Entonces su criado le dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! ¿qué haremos?
16 El le dijo: No tengas miedo, porque más son los que están con nosotros que los que están con ellos.
17 Y oró Eliseo, y dijo: Te ruego, oh Jehová, que abras sus ojos para que vea. Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos del criado, y miró; y he aquí que el monte estaba lleno de gente de a caballo, y de carros de fuego alrededor de Eliseo.
8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?
12 And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.
13 And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
7 En aquel día mirará el hombre a su Hacedor, y sus ojos contemplarán al Santo de Israel.
8 Y no mirará a los altares que hicieron sus manos, ni mirará a lo que hicieron sus dedos, ni a los símbolos de Asera, ni a las imágenes del sol.
7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel.
8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.
1 Y aquel día, saliendo Jesús de casa, se sentó junto á la mar.
2 Y se allegaron á él muchas gentes; y entrándose él en el barco, se sentó, y toda la gente estaba á la ribera.
3 Y les habló muchas cosas por parábolas,
10 Entonces, llegándose los discípulos, le dijeron: ¿Por qué les hablas por parábolas?
11 Y él respondiendo, les dijo: Por que á vosotros es concedido saber los misterios del reino de los cielos; mas á ellos no es concedido.
12 Porque á cualquiera que tiene, se le dará, y tendrá más; pero al que no tiene, aun lo que tiene le será quitado.
13 Por eso les hablo por parábolas; porque viendo no ven, y oyendo no oyen, ni entienden.
14 De manera que se cumple en ellos la profecía de Isaías, que dice: De oído oiréis, y no entenderéis; Y viendo veréis, y no miraréis.
15 Porque el corazón de este pueblo está engrosado, Y de los oídos oyen pesadamente, Y de sus ojos guiñan: Para que no vean de los ojos, Y oigan de los oídos, Y del corazón entiendan, Y se conviertan, Y yo los sane.
16 Mas bienaventurados vuestros ojos, porque ven; y vuestros oídos, porque oyen.
17 Porque de cierto os digo, que muchos profetas y justos desearon ver lo que veis, y no lo vieron: y oir lo que oís, y no lo oyeron.
1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables,
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
21 En aquella misma hora Jesús se alegró en espíritu, y dijo: Yo te alabo, oh Padre, Señor del cielo y de la tierra, que escondiste estas cosas á los sabios y entendidos, y las has revelado á los pequeños: así, Padre, porque así te agradó.
21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
7 No os engañeis: Dios no puede ser burlado: que todo lo que el hombre sembrare, eso también segará.
8 Porque el que siembra para su carne, de la carne segará corrupción; mas el que siembra para el Espíritu, del Espíritu segará vida eterna.
9 No nos cansemos, pues, de hacer bien; porque a su tiempo segaremos, si no desmayamos.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
15 No améis al mundo, ni las cosas que están en el mundo. Si alguno ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no está en él.
16 Porque todo lo que hay en el mundo, los deseos de la carne, los deseos de los ojos, y la vanagloria de la vida, no proviene del Padre, sino del mundo.
17 Y el mundo pasa, y sus deseos; pero el que hace la voluntad de Dios permanece para siempre.
15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
El Espíritu, Dios, lo ha creado todo en Sí mismo y de Sí mismo. El Espíritu nunca creó a la materia. No hay nada en el Espíritu de lo cual se pudiera hacer materia, porque, como la Biblia declara, sin el Logos, el Eón o el Verbo de Dios, "nada de lo que ha sido hecho fue hecho". El Espíritu es la sustancia única, el Dios infinito, invisible e indivisible. Las cosas espirituales y eternas son sustanciales. Las cosas materiales y temporales son insustanciales.
Spirit, God, has created all in and of Himself. Spirit never created matter. There is nothing in Spirit out of which matter could be made, for, as the Bible declares, without the Logos, the Æon or Word of God, "was not anything made that was made." Spirit is the only substance, the in-visible and indivisible infinite God. Things spiritual and eternal are substantial. Things material and temporal are insubstantial.
La materia es la creencia primitiva de la mente mortal, porque esa llamada mente no tiene conocimiento del Espíritu. Para la mente mortal, la materia es sustancia y el mal es real. Los llamados sentidos de los mortales son materiales. De ahí que la llamada vida de los mortales dependa de la materia.
Explicando el origen del hombre material y de la mente mortal, Jesús dijo: "¿Por qué no entendéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis escuchar mi palabra. Vosotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo [el mal], y los deseos de vuestro padre queréis hacer. Él ha sido homicida desde el principio, y no ha permanecido en la verdad, porque no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de mentira”.
Matter is the primitive belief of mortal mind, because this so-called mind has no cognizance of Spirit. To mortal mind, matter is substantial, and evil is real. The so-called senses of mortals are material. Hence the so-called life of mortals is dependent on matter.
Explaining the origin of material man and mortal mind, Jesus said: "Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father, the devil [evil], and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."
MATERIA. Mitología; mortalidad; otro nombre para la mente mortal; ilusión; inteligencia, sustancia y vida en la no-inteligencia y en la mortalidad… lo opuesto del Espíritu;
Matter. Mythology; mortality; another name for mortal mind; illusion; intelligence, substance, and life in non-intelligence and mortality; … the opposite of Truth;
Jesús trazó el camino para los demás. Reveló al Cristo, la idea espiritual del Amor divino. A los sepultados en la creencia del pecado y el egoísmo, que sólo vivían para el placer o para la satisfacción de los sentidos, en esencia les dijo: Teniendo ojos no veis, y teniendo oídos no oís; no sea que entendáis y os convirtáis, y yo os sane. Enseñó que los sentidos materiales impiden entrada a la Verdad y a su poder sanativo.
Jesus mapped out the path for others. He unveiled the Christ, the spiritual idea of divine Love. To those buried in the belief of sin and self, living only for pleasure or the gratification of the senses, he said in substance: Having eyes ye see not, and having ears ye hear not; lest ye should understand and be converted, and I might heal you. He taught that the material senses shut out Truth and its healing power.
¿Puede conocerse a la Deidad por medio de los sentidos materiales? ¿Pueden los sentidos materiales, que no reciben evidencia directa del Espíritu, dar testimonio correcto en cuanto a la vida, la verdad y el amor espirituales?
Los sentidos físicos no pueden obtener prueba de que Dios existe. No pueden ver al Espíritu con los ojos, ni oírlo con los oídos, ni pueden tampoco tocar, saborear u oler al Espíritu.
Según la Ciencia Cristiana, los únicos sentidos reales del hombre son espirituales y emanan de la Mente divina. El pensamiento pasa de Dios al hombre, pero ni sensación ni comunicación pasan del cuerpo material a la Mente. La intercomunicación proviene siempre de Dios y va a Su idea.
Can Deity be known through the material senses? Can the material senses, which receive no direct evidence of Spirit, give correct testimony as to spiritual life, truth, and love?
The physical senses can obtain no proof of God. They can neither see Spirit through the eye nor hear it through the ear, nor can they feel, taste, or smell Spirit.
According to Christian Science, the only real senses of man are spiritual, emanating from divine Mind. Thought passes from God to man, but neither sensation nor report goes from material body to Mind. The intercommunication is always from God to His idea, man.
El sentido espiritual es una capacidad consciente y constante de comprender a Dios.
Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God.
El Principio y la prueba del cristianismo son discernidos por el sentido espiritual. Se exponen en las demostraciones de Jesús, que prueban —por su curación de los enfermos, su expulsión de males y su destrucción de la muerte, "el postrer enemigo que será destruido"— su desprecio por la materia y sus supuestas leyes.
The Principle and proof of Christianity are discerned by spiritual sense. They are set forth in Jesus' demonstrations, which show — by his healing the sick, casting out evils, and destroying death, "the last enemy that shall be destroyed," — his disregard of matter and its so-called laws.
La creencia de que la materia piensa, ve o siente no es más real que la creencia de que la materia goza y sufre. Esa creencia mortal, falsamente denominada hombre, es el error, que dice: "La materia tiene inteligencia y sensación. Los nervios sienten. El cerebro piensa y peca. El estómago puede malhumorar a un hombre. Una herida puede estropear al hombre y la materia matarlo". Ese veredicto de los llamados sentidos materiales hace víctimas a los mortales, enseñados, como están, por la fisiología y la patología, a reverenciar falsos testimonios, o sean los errores que son destruidos por la Verdad mediante el sentido espiritual y la Ciencia.
The belief that matter thinks, sees, or feels is not more real than the belief that matter enjoys and suffers. This mortal belief, misnamed man, is error, saying: “Matter has intelligence and sensation. Nerves feel. Brain thinks and sins. The stomach can make a man cross. Injury can cripple and matter can kill man." This verdict of the so-called material senses victimizes mortals, taught, as they are by physiology and pathology, to revere false testimony, even the errors that are destroyed by Truth through spiritual sense and Science.
El testimonio de los sentidos físicos a menudo invierte a la Ciencia verdadera del ser y crea así un reino de discordia, asignando poder aparente al pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte; pero las grandes verdades de la Vida, correctamente comprendidas, derrotan ese trío de errores, contradicen a sus falsos testigos y revelan el reino de los cielos —el verdadero reino de la armonía en la tierra. La reversión de la Ciencia del Alma por los sentidos materiales fue expuesta prácticamente, hace mil novecientos años, por las demostraciones de Jesús; sin embargo, esos llamados sentidos todavía subordinan la mente mortal al cuerpo mortal y designan ciertas secciones de la materia, tales como el cerebro y los nervios, sedes del dolor y del placer, desde las cuales la materia informa a esa llamada mente su estado de felicidad o miseria.
The evidence of the physical senses often reverses the real Science of being, and so creates a reign of discord, — assigning seeming power to sin, sickness, and death; but the great facts of Life, rightly understood, defeat this triad of errors, contradict their false witnesses, and reveal the kingdom of heaven, — the actual reign of harmony on earth. The material senses' reversal of the Science of Soul was practically exposed nineteen hundred years ago by the demonstrations of Jesus; yet these so-called senses still make mortal mind tributary to mortal body, and ordain certain sections of matter, such as brain and nerves, as the seats of pain and pleasure, from which matter reports to this so-called mind its status of happiness or misery.
La Ciencia invierte el falso testimonio de los sentidos físicos, y por esa inversión los mortales llegan a conocer los hechos fundamentales del ser.
La salud no es un estado de la materia, sino de la Mente; tampoco pueden los sentidos materiales dar testimonio confiable sobre el tema de la salud. La Ciencia de la curación por la Mente muestra que es imposible que algo que no sea la Mente pueda dar testimonio verídico o muestre el estado real del hombre. Por lo tanto, el Principio divino de la Ciencia, invirtiendo el testimonio de los sentidos físicos, revela que el hombre existe armoniosamente en la Verdad, lo cual es la única base de la salud; y así la Ciencia niega toda enfermedad, sana a los enfermos, destruye la falsa evidencia y refuta la lógica materialista.
Science reverses the false testimony of the physical senses, and by this reversal mortals arrive at the fundamental facts of being.
Health is not a condition of matter, but of Mind; nor can the material senses bear reliable testimony on the subject of health. The Science of Mind-healing shows it to be impossible for aught but Mind to testify truly or to exhibit the real status of man. Therefore the divine Principle of Science, reversing the testimony of the physical senses, reveals man as harmoniously existent in Truth, which is the only basis of health; and thus Science denies all disease, heals the sick, overthrows false evidence, and refutes materialistic logic.
Comprender que la Mente es infinita, que no está limitada por la corporalidad, que no depende del oído y del ojo para el sonido o la vista, ni de los músculos y los huesos para la locomoción, es un paso hacia la Ciencia de la Mente, por medio de la cual percibimos la naturaleza y la existencia del hombre.
To understand that Mind is infinite, not bounded by corporeality, not dependent upon the ear and eye for sound or sight nor upon muscles and bones for locomotion, is a step towards the Mind-science by which we discern man's nature and existence.
… las pretensiones de los sentidos esclavizantes deben negarse y reemplazarse. La ley de la Mente divina tiene que acabar con la servidumbre humana, o los mortales continuarán sin conocer los derechos inalienables del hombre y sujetos a una esclavitud sin esperanza, porque algunos educadores públicos permiten ignorancia respecto al poder divino —ignorancia que es la base de continua servidumbre y de sufrimiento humano.

La ilusión de los sentidos materiales, y no la ley divina, os ha atado, ha enredado vuestros miembros libres, paralizado vuestras capacidades, debilitado vuestro cuerpo y desfigurado la tabla de vuestra existencia.
…the claims of the enslaving senses must be denied and superseded. The law of the divine Mind must end human bondage, or mortals will continue unaware of man's inalienable rights and in subjection to hopeless slavery, because some public teachers permit an ignorance of divine power, — an ignorance that is the foundation of continued bondage and of human suffering.
Citizens of the world, accept the "glorious liberty of the children of God," and be free! This is your divine right. The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you, entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being.
La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Ejerced esa autoridad otorgada por Dios. Tomad posesión de vuestro cuerpo y regid sus sensaciones y funciones. Levantaos en la fuerza del Espíritu para resistir todo lo que sea desemejante al bien. Dios ha hecho al hombre capaz de eso, y nada puede invalidar la capacidad y el poder divinamente otorgados al hombre.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. Take possession of your body, and govern its feeling and action. Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animadversión ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
