2. No os conforméis a este siglo, sino transformaos por medio de la renovación de vuestro entendimiento, para que comprobéis cuál sea la buena voluntad de Dios, agradable y perfecta.
9. El amor sea sin fingimiento. Aborreced lo malo, seguid lo bueno.
10. Amaos los unos a los otros con amor fraternal; en cuanto a honra, prefiriéndoos los unos a los otros.
11. En lo que requiere diligencia, no perezosos; fervientes en espíritu, sirviendo al Señor;
12. gozosos en la esperanza; sufridos en la tribulación; constantes en la oración;
14. Bendecid a los que os persiguen; bendecid, y no maldigáis.
21. No seas vencido de lo malo, sino vence con el bien el mal.

8 Noé halló gracia ante los ojos de Jehová.
13 Dijo, pues, Dios a Noé: He decidido el fin de todo ser, porque la tierra está llena de violencia a causa de ellos; y he aquí que yo los destruiré con la tierra.
14 Hazte un arca de madera de gofer;
22 Y lo hizo así Noé; hizo conforme a todo lo que Dios le mandó.
8 Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood;
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.
10 Y sucedió que al séptimo día las aguas del diluvio vinieron sobre la tierra.
13 En este mismo día entraron Noé, y Sem, Cam y Jafet hijos de Noé, la mujer de Noé, y las tres mujeres de sus hijos, con él en el arca;
14 ellos, y todos los animales silvestres según sus especies, y todos los animales domesticados según sus especies, y todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra según su especie, y toda ave según su especie, y todo pájaro de toda especie.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;

13 Mi arco he puesto en las nubes, el cual será por señal del pacto entre mí y la tierra.
16 Estará el arco en las nubes, y lo veré, y me acordaré del pacto perpetuo entre Dios y todo ser viviente, con toda carne que hay sobre la tierra.
1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
1 De Jehová es la tierra y su plenitud; El mundo, y los que en él habitan.
2 Porque él la fundó sobre los mares, Y la afirmó sobre los ríos.
3 ¿Quién subirá al monte de Jehová? ¿Y quién estará en su lugar santo?
4 El limpio de manos y puro de corazón; El que no ha elevado su alma a cosas vanas, Ni jurado con engaño.
5 Él recibirá bendición de Jehová, Y justicia del Dios de salvación.
6 Tal es la generación de los que le buscan, De los que buscan tu rostro, oh Dios de Jacob.
9 Alzad, oh puertas, vuestras cabezas, Y alzaos vosotras, puertas eternas, Y entrará el Rey de gloria.

1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.

1 Cuando llegó el día de Pentecostés, estaban todos unánimes juntos.
2 Y de repente vino del cielo un estruendo como de un viento recio que soplaba, el cual llenó toda la casa donde estaban sentados;
3 y se les aparecieron lenguas repartidas, como de fuego, asentándose sobre cada uno de ellos.

17 Y en los postreros días, dice Dios, Derramaré de mi Espíritu sobre toda carne,
18 Y de cierto sobre mis siervos y sobre mis siervas en aquellos días Derramaré de mi Espíritu,
19 Y daré prodigios arriba en el cielo, Y señales abajo en la tierra,
21 Y todo aquel que invocare el nombre del Señor, será salvo.
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them,
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose,
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit;
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath;
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
9 Porque no nos ha puesto Dios para ira, sino para alcanzar salvación por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,
11 Por lo cual, animaos unos a otros, y edificaos unos a otros, así como lo hacéis.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
23 Y todo lo que hagáis, hacedlo de corazón, como para el Señor y no para los hombres;
24 sabiendo que del Señor recibiréis la recompensa de la herencia, porque a Cristo el Señor servís.
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Como se usa en la Ciencia Cristiana, Alma es propiamente sinónimo de Espíritu, o Dios;
As used in Christian Science, Soul is properly the synonym of Spirit, or God;
La Mente divina mantiene todas las identidades, desde una brizna de hierba hasta una estrella,distintas y eternas. Las preguntas son: ¿Cuáles son las identidades de Dios? ¿Qué es el Alma? ¿Existe vida o alma en la cosa formada?
The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal. The questions are: What are God's identities? What is Soul? Does life or soul exist in the thing formed?
Alma es sinónimo de Espíritu, Dios, el Principio creador, gobernante e infinito, que está fuera de la forma finita y que las formas sólo reflejan.
Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative, governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms only reflect.
El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma.
Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul.
La Vida es la ley del Alma, la ley del espíritu de la Verdad, y el Alma jamás existe sin su representante. Le es tan imposible al ser individual del hombre morir o desaparecer en la inconsciencia como le es al Alma, pues ambos son inmortales.
Life is the law of Soul, even the law of the spirit of Truth, and Soul is never without its representative. Man's individual being can no more die nor disappear in unconsciousness than can Soul, for both are immortal.
El Alma es el Principio divino del hombre y jamás peca —de ahí la inmortalidad del Alma. En la Ciencia aprendemos que el sentido material, y no el Alma, es lo que peca; y se hallará que es el sentido del pecado lo que se pierde, y no un alma pecadora.
Soul is the divine Principle of man and never sins, — hence the immortality of Soul. In Science we learn that it is material sense, not Soul, which sins; and it will be found that it is the sense of sin which is lost, and not a sinful soul.
Cuando la comprensión cambie nuestros puntos de vista acerca de la vida y la inteligencia de una base material a una base espiritual, lograremos la realidad de la Vida, el dominio del Alma sobre los sentidos, y percibiremos el cristianismo, o la Verdad, en su Principio divino. Eso ha de ser el punto culminante, antes que se llegue al hombre armonioso e inmortal y sean reveladas sus aptitudes. Es sumamente importante —en vista del inmenso trabajo a realizarse antes que pueda venir ese reconocimiento de la Ciencia divina— dirigir nuestros pensamientos hacia el Principio divino, para que la creencia finita pueda estar preparada a renunciar a sus errores.
La sabiduría del hombre no encuentra satisfacción en el pecado, puesto que Dios ha sentenciado al pecado a sufrir.
Las dolorosas experiencias que resultan de la creencia en la supuesta vida de la materia, así como nuestros desengaños e incesantes angustias, hacen que vayamos, cual niños cansados, a los brazos del Amor divino. Entonces empezamos a conocer la Vida en la Ciencia divina. Sin ese procedimiento de deshabituación, "¿Descubrirás tú los secretos de Dios?" Es más fácil desear la Verdad que deshacerse del error. Los mortales tal vez procuren comprender la Ciencia Cristiana, pero no podrán cosechar de la Ciencia Cristiana las realidades del ser sin luchar por ellas. Esa lucha consiste en el esfuerzo por abandonar el error de toda índole y de no poseer otra consciencia que el bien.
Los saludables castigos del Amor nos ayudan a progresar en nuestra jornada hacia la rectitud, la paz y la pureza, que son las señales del camino de la Ciencia. Contemplando las infinitas tareas de la verdad, hacemos una pausa —esperamos en Dios. Luego avanzamos, hasta que el pensamiento ilimitado se adelante extasiado y a la concepción libre de trabas le sean dadas alas para remontarse a la gloria divina.
A fin de comprender más, tenemos que poner en práctica lo que ya sabemos. Tenemos que recordar que la Verdad es demostrable cuando es comprendida y que el bien no se comprende mientras no se demuestre. Si somos "fieles sobre poco", sobre mucho se nos pondrá; pero el talento que no se usa se deteriora y se pierde. Cuando los enfermos o los pecadores despierten para darse cuenta de la necesidad que tienen de lo que carecen, estarán dispuestos a aceptar la Ciencia divina, que gravita hacia el Alma y se aleja del sentido material, aparta el pensamiento del cuerpo y eleva a la mente mortal misma a la contemplación de algo mejor que la enfermedad o el pecado. La verdadera idea de Dios da la comprensión verdadera de la Vida y el Amor, despoja al sepulcro de su victoria, quita todo pecado y el engaño de que hay otras mentes, y destruye a la mortalidad.
Los efectos de la Ciencia Cristiana se ven menos de lo que se sienten. Es la "voz callada y suave"de la Verdad, expresándose. O bien nos estamos alejando de esa expresión, o la estamos escuchando y elevándonos.
When understanding changes the standpoints of life and intelligence from a material to a spiritual basis, we shall gain the reality of Life, the control of Soul over sense, and we shall perceive Christianity, or Truth, in its divine Principle. This must be the climax before harmonious and immortal man is obtained and his capabilities revealed. It is highly important — in view of the immense work to be accomplished before this recognition of divine Science can come — to turn our thoughts towards divine Principle, that finite belief may be prepared to relinquish its error.
Man's wisdom finds no satisfaction in sin, since God has sentenced sin to suffer.
The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love. Then we begin to learn Life in divine Science. Without this process of weaning, "Canst thou by searching find out God?" It is easier to desire Truth than to rid one's self of error. Mortals may seek the understanding of Christian Science, but they will not be able to glean from Christian Science the facts of being without striving for them. This strife consists in the endeavor to forsake error of every kind and to possess no other consciousness but good.
Through the wholesome chastisements of Love, we are helped onward in the march towards righteousness, peace, and purity, which are the landmarks of Science. Beholding the infinite tasks of truth, we pause, — wait on God. Then we push onward, until boundless thought walks enraptured, and conception unconfined is winged to reach the divine glory.
In order to apprehend more, we must put into practice what we already know. We must recollect that Truth is demonstrable when understood, and that good is not understood until demonstrated. If "faithful over a few things," we shall be made rulers over many; but the one unused talent decays and is lost. When the sick or the sinning awake to realize their need of what they have not, they will be receptive of divine Science, which gravitates towards Soul and away from material sense, removes thought from the body, and elevates even mortal mind to the contemplation of something better than disease or sin. The true idea of God gives the true understanding of Life and Love, robs the grave of victory, takes away all sin and the delusion that there are other minds, and destroys mortality.
The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen as felt. It is the "still, small voice" of Truth uttering itself. We are either turning away from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going up higher.
La naturaleza superior del hombre no está gobernada por la inferior; si lo estuviera, el orden de la sabiduría estaría invertido. Nuestros equivocados puntos de vista acerca de la vida, ocultan la armonía eterna y producen los males de que nos quejamos. El hecho de que los mortales creen en leyes materiales y rechazan la Ciencia de la Mente no hace que la materialidad sea lo primero y la ley superior del Alma lo postrero. Jamás pensaríais que para prevenir enfermedades pulmonares es mejor la franela que la Mente que todo lo gobierna, si comprendierais la Ciencia del.
En la Ciencia el hombre es linaje del Espíritu. Lo bello, lo bueno y lo puro constituyen su ascendencia. Su origen no está, como el de los mortales, en el instinto bruto, ni pasa él por condiciones materiales antes de alcanzar la inteligencia. El Espíritu es la fuente primitiva y última de su ser; Dios es su Padre, y la Vida es la ley de su existencia.
The higher nature of man is not governed by the lower; if it were, the order of wisdom would be reversed. Our false views of life hide eternal harmony, and produce the ills of which we complain. Because mortals believe in material laws and reject the Science of Mind, this does not make materiality first and the superior law of Soul last. You would never think that flannel was better for warding off pulmonary disease than the controlling Mind, if you understood the Science of being.
In Science man is the offspring of Spirit. The beautiful, good, and pure constitute his ancestry. His origin is not, like that of mortals, in brute instinct, nor does he pass through material conditions prior to reaching intelligence. Spirit is his primitive and ultimate source of being; God is his Father, and Life is the law of his being.
La noción de que la naturaleza animal pueda dar fuerza al carácter, es demasiado absurda para tomarla en cuenta, al recordar que por ascendencia espiritual nuestro Señor y Maestro sanó enfermos, resucitó muertos y hasta ordenó a los vientos y a las olas que lo obedecieran. La gracia y la Verdad son mucho más potentes que cualquier otro medio y método.
La falta de poder espiritual en la demostración limitada del cristianismo popular no puede silenciar la labor de los siglos. La consciencia espiritual y no la corporal es la que se necesita. El hombre liberado del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte presenta la verdadera semejanza o ideal espiritual.
The notion that animal natures can possibly give force to character is too absurd for consideration, when we remember that through spiritual ascendency our Lord and Master healed the sick, raised the dead, and commanded even the winds and waves to obey him. Grace and Truth are potent beyond all other means and methods.
The lack of spiritual power in the limited demonstration of popular Christianity does not put to silence the labor of centuries. Spiritual, not corporeal, consciousness is needed. Man delivered from sin, disease, and death presents the true likeness or spiritual ideal.
¿Amas "al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente"? Ese mandato incluye mucho, hasta la renuncia a toda sensación, afecto y culto meramente materiales. Ése es El Dorado del cristianismo. Incluye la Ciencia de la Vida y reconoce sólo el dominio divino del Espíritu, en el cual el Alma nos gobierna,

This command includes much, even the surrender of all merely material sensation, affection, and worship. This is the El Dorado of Christianity. It involves the Science of Life, and recognizes only the divine control of Spirit, in which Soul is our master,

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
