9. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

12. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

23 O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful,
24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
7 De los pecados de mi juventud, y de mis rebeliones, no te acuerdes; Conforme a tu misericordia acuérdate de mí, Por tu bondad, oh Jehová.
8 Bueno y recto es Jehová; Por tanto, él enseñará a los pecadores el camino.
14 La comunión íntima de Jehová es con los que le temen, Y a ellos hará conocer su pacto.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
1 Dios es nuestro amparo y fortaleza, Nuestro pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones.
2 Por tanto, no temeremos, aunque la tierra sea removida, Y se traspasen los montes al corazón del mar;

1 Entonces Elías tisbita, … dijo a Acab: Vive Jehová Dios de Israel, en cuya presencia estoy, que no habrá lluvia ni rocío en estos años, sino por mi palabra.
2 Y vino a él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
3 Apártate de aquí, y vuélvete al oriente, y escóndete en el arroyo de Querit,
4 Beberás del arroyo; y yo he mandado a los cuervos que te den allí de comer.
7 Pasados algunos días, se secó el arroyo,
8 Vino luego a él palabra de Jehová, diciendo:
9 Levántate, vete a Sarepta de Sidón, y mora allí; he aquí yo he dado orden allí a una mujer viuda que te sustente.
10 Y cuando llegó a la puerta de la ciudad, he aquí una mujer viuda que estaba allí recogiendo leña; y él la llamó, y le dijo: Te ruego que me traigas un poco de agua en un vaso, para que beba.
11 Y yendo ella para traérsela, él la volvió a llamar, y le dijo: Te ruego que me traigas también un bocado de pan en tu mano.
12 Y ella respondió: Vive Jehová tu Dios, que no tengo pan cocido; solamente un puñado de harina tengo en la tinaja, y un poco de aceite en una vasija; y ahora recogía dos leños, para entrar y prepararlo para mí y para mi hijo, para que lo comamos, y nos dejemos morir.
13 Elías le dijo: No tengas temor; ve, haz como has dicho; pero hazme a mí primero de ello una pequeña torta cocida debajo de la ceniza, y tráemela; y después harás para ti y para tu hijo.
14 Porque Jehová Dios de Israel ha dicho así: La harina de la tinaja no escaseará, ni el aceite de la vasija disminuirá, hasta el día en que Jehová haga llover sobre la faz de la tierra.
15 Entonces ella fue e hizo como le dijo Elías; y comió él, y ella, y su casa, muchos días.
16 Y la harina de la tinaja no escaseó, ni el aceite de la vasija menguó,
17 Después de estas cosas aconteció que cayó enfermo el hijo del ama de la casa; y la enfermedad fue tan grave que no quedó en él aliento.
18 Y ella dijo a Elías: ¿Qué tengo yo contigo, varón de Dios? ¿Has venido a mí para traer a memoria mis iniquidades, y para hacer morir a mi hijo?
19 Él le dijo: Dame acá tu hijo. Entonces él lo tomó de su regazo, y lo llevó al aposento donde él estaba, y lo puso sobre su cama.
21 Y se tendió sobre el niño tres veces, y clamó a Jehová y dijo: Jehová Dios mío, te ruego que hagas volver el alma de este niño a él.
22 Y Jehová oyó la voz de Elías, y el alma del niño volvió a él, y revivió.
23 Tomando luego Elías al niño, lo trajo del aposento a la casa, y lo dio a su madre, y le dijo Elías: Mira, tu hijo vive.
24 Entonces la mujer dijo a Elías: Ahora conozco que tú eres varón de Dios, y que la palabra de Jehová es verdad en tu boca.
1 And Elijah the Tishbite, … said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.
2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith,
4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up,
8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.
10 And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.
13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.
14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail,
17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.
18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?
19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.
21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.
22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.
24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.
7 Jehová te guardará de todo mal; Él guardará tu alma.
8 Jehová guardará tu salida y tu entrada Desde ahora y para siempre.
7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
1 Jehová es mi pastor; nada me faltará.
2 En lugares de delicados pastos me hará descansar; Junto a aguas de reposo me pastoreará.
3 Confortará mi alma; Me guiará por sendas de justicia por amor de su nombre.
4 Aunque ande en valle de sombra de muerte, No temeré mal alguno, porque tú estarás conmigo; Tu vara y tu cayado me infundirán aliento.
5 Aderezas mesa delante de mí en presencia de mis angustiadores; Unges mi cabeza con aceite; mi copa está rebosando.
6 Ciertamente el bien y la misericordia me seguirán todos los días de mi vida, Y en la casa de Jehová moraré por largos días.
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
El Amor divino siempre ha respondido y siempre responderá a toda necesidad humana. … a la humanidad entera y a toda hora el Amor divino suministra todo el bien.
El milagro de la gracia no es milagro para el Amor. Jesús demostró la incapacidad de la corporeidad, como también la capacidad infinita del Espíritu, ayudando así al errado sentido humano a huir de sus propias convicciones y a buscar seguridad en la Ciencia divina. La razón, bien dirigida, sirve para corregir los errores de los sentidos corporales; pero el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte parecerán reales (así como las experiencias del sueño mientras dormimos parecen reales) hasta que la Ciencia de la armonía eterna del hombre les destruya su ilusión con la ininterrumpida realidad del ser científico.
Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. … to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good.
The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love. … Reason, rightly directed, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the experiences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Science of man's eternal harmony breaks their illusion with the unbroken reality of scientific being.
Las pruebas enseñan a los mortales a no apoyarse en báculo material —en caña rota, que traspasa el corazón. Apenas si recordamos eso cuando brilla el sol de la alegría y la prosperidad. El pesar es saludable. A través de grandes tribulaciones entramos en el reino. Las pruebas son señales del cuidado de Dios. El desarrollo espiritual no germina de la simiente sembrada en el campo de esperanzas materiales; sino cuando éstas decaen, el Amor propaga de nuevo las alegrías más elevadas del Espíritu, las cuales no tienen mácula terrenal. Cada fase sucesiva de experiencia descubre nuevas perspectivas de la bondad y del amor divinos.
Trials teach mortals not to lean on a material staff, — a broken reed, which pierces the heart. We do not half remember this in the sunshine of joy and prosperity. Sorrow is salutary. Through great tribulation we enter the kingdom. Trials are proofs of God's care. Spiritual development germinates not from seed sown in the soil of material hopes, but when these decay, Love propagates anew the higher joys of Spirit, which have no taint of earth. Each successive stage of experience unfolds new views of divine goodness and love.
El bien exige del hombre que ocupe cada hora en resolver el problema del ser. La consagración al bien no disminuye la necesidad de que el hombre dependa de Dios, sino que la acrecienta. Ni la consagración disminuye las obligaciones del hombre para con Dios, sino que enseña la necesidad suprema de cumplirlas. La Ciencia Cristiana no le quita nada a la perfección de Dios, sino que Le atribuye a Él toda la gloria. Despojándose del "viejo hombre con sus hechos", los mortales "se visten de inmortalidad”.
No podemos sondear la naturaleza y cualidad de la creación de Dios sumergiéndonos en los bajíos de la creencia mortal. Tenemos que dar vuelta a nuestros débiles aleteos —nuestros esfuerzos por encontrar vida y verdad en la materia— y elevarnos por encima del testimonio de los sentidos materiales, por encima de lo mortal, hacia la idea inmortal de Dios. Esas vistas más claras y elevadas inspiran al hombre de cualidades divinas a alcanzar el centro y la circunferencia absolutos de su ser.
Good demands of man every hour, in which to work out the problem of being. Consecration to good does not lessen man's dependence on God, but heightens it. Neither does consecration diminish man's obligations to God, but shows the paramount necessity of meeting them. Christian Science takes naught from the perfection of God, but it ascribes to Him the entire glory. By putting "off the old man with his deeds," mortals "put on immortality."
We cannot fathom the nature and quality of God's creation by diving into the shallows of mortal belief. We must reverse our feeble flutterings — our efforts to find life and truth in matter — and rise above the testimony of the material senses, above the mortal to the immortal idea of God. These clearer, higher views inspire the Godlike man to reach the absolute centre and circumference of his being.
La humanidad tiene que aprender que el mal no es poder. Su tal llamado despotismo no es sino una fase de la nada. La Ciencia Cristiana despoja el reino del mal y estimula preeminentemente el afecto y la virtud en las familias y, por consiguiente, en la comunidad.
Mankind must learn that evil is not power. Its so-called despotism is but a phase of nothingness. Christian Science despoils the kingdom of evil, and pre-eminently promotes affection and virtue in families and therefore in the community.
En todo momento, y bajo toda circunstancia, vence con el bien el mal. Conócete a ti mismo, y Dios proveerá la sabiduría y la ocasión para una victoria sobre el mal. Si estás revestido de la panoplia del Amor, el odio humano no puede tocarte.
At all times and under all circumstances, overcome evil with good. Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil. Clad in the panoply of Love, human hatred cannot reach you.
Los mortales tienen que mirar más allá de las formas finitas y perecederas, si quieren obtener el concepto verdadero de las cosas. ¿Dónde ha de descansar la mirada sino en el reino inescrutable de la Mente? Tenemos que dirigir la mirada en la dirección en que deseamos caminar y debemos actuar como poseedores de todo el poder de Aquel en quien somos.
Mortals must look beyond fading, finite forms, if they would gain the true sense of things. Where shall the gaze rest but in the unsearchable realm of Mind? We must look where we would walk, and we must act as possessing all power from Him in whom we have our being.
Desde el comienzo hasta el fin, las Escrituras están llenas de relatos del triunfo del Espíritu, la Mente, sobre la materia. Moisés probó el poder de la Mente mediante lo que los hombres llamaron milagros; igual hicieron Josué, Elías y Elíseo. La era Cristiana fue introducida por señales y prodigios.
From beginning to end, the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over matter. Moses proved the power of Mind by what men called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha. The Christian era was ushered in with signs and wonders.
La historia del cristianismo brinda pruebas sublimes de la influencia sostenedora y del poder protector conferidos al hombre por su Padre celestial, la Mente omnipotente, que da al hombre fe y entendimiento con los cuales defenderse no sólo de la tentación sino también del sufrimiento corporal.
The history of Christianity furnishes sublime proofs of the supporting influence and protecting power bestowed on man by his heavenly Father, omnipotent Mind, who gives man faith and understanding whereby to defend himself, not only from temptation, but from bodily suffering.
MILAGRO. Lo que es divinamente natural pero que tiene que llegar a comprenderse humanamente; un fenómeno de la Ciencia.
Miracle. That which is divinely natural, but must be learned humanly; a phenomenon of Science.
Un milagro cumple con la ley de Dios pero no la quebranta. Ese hecho parece ahora más misterioso que el milagro mismo. El Salmista exclamó: "¿Qué tuviste, oh mar, que huiste? ¿Y tú, oh Jordán, que te volviste atrás? Oh montes, ¿por qué saltasteis como carneros, y vosotros, collados, como corderitos? A la presencia de Jehová tiembla la tierra, a la presencia del Dios de Jacob". El milagro no introduce desorden, sino que revela el orden primordial, estableciendo la Ciencia de la ley inmutable de Dios.
A miracle fulfils God's law, but does not violate that law. This fact at present seems more mysterious than the miracle itself. The Psalmist sang: "What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye little hills, like lambs? Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob." The miracle introduces no disorder, but unfolds the primal order, establishing the Science of God's unchangeable law.
Los sentidos del Espíritu moran en el Amor y demuestran la Verdad y la Vida. Por lo tanto, el cristianismo y la Ciencia que lo expone están basados en la comprensión espiritual y anulan las llamadas leyes de la materia.
The senses of Spirit abide in Love, and they demonstrate Truth and Life. Hence Christianity and the Science which expounds it are based on spiritual understanding, and they supersede the so-called laws of matter.

There is to-day danger of repeating the offence of the Jews by limiting the Holy One of Israel and asking: "Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?" What cannot God do?
Adhiérase al Principio divino de la Ciencia Cristiana y acátense los mandatos de Dios, morando firmemente en la sabiduría, la Verdad y el Amor.
Adhere to the divine Principle of Christian Science and follow the behests of God, abiding steadfastly in wisdom, Truth, and Love.
La Mente tiene dominio sobre los sentidos corporales y puede vencer a la enfermedad, al pecado y a la muerte. Ejerced esa autoridad otorgada por Dios. Tomad posesión de vuestro cuerpo y regid sus sensaciones y funciones. Levantaos en la fuerza del Espíritu para resistir todo lo que sea desemejante al bien. Dios ha hecho al hombre capaz de eso, y nada puede invalidar la capacidad y el poder divinamente otorgados al hombre.
Mind is the master of the corporeal senses, and can conquer sickness, sin, and death. Exercise this God-given authority. … Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.
Las relaciones entre Dios y el hombre, el Principio divino y la idea divina, son indestructibles en la Ciencia; y la Ciencia no conoce ningún alejamiento de la armonía ni retorno a ella, sino mantiene que el orden divino o ley espiritual, en que Dios y todo lo que es creado por Él son perfectos y eternos, ha permanecido inalterado en su historia eterna.
The relations of God and man, divine Principle and idea, are indestructible in Science; and Science knows no lapse from nor return to harmony, but holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.
La vida y la felicidad espirituales son las únicas evidencias por medio de las cuales podemos reconocer la existencia verdadera y sentir la paz inefable que viene de un amor espiritual que le absorbe a uno por completo.
Cuando aprendamos el camino en la Ciencia Cristiana y reconozcamos al ser espiritual del hombre, veremos y comprenderemos la creación de Dios —todas las glorias de la tierra y del cielo y del hombre.
Spiritual living and blessedness are the only evidences, by which we can recognize true existence and feel the unspeakable peace which comes from an all-absorbing spiritual love.
When we learn the way in Christian Science and recognize man's spiritual being, we shall behold and understand God's creation, — all the glories of earth and heaven and man.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
