14 Y Jesús volvió en el poder del Espíritu a Galilea, y se difundió su fama por toda la tierra de alrededor.

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
10 Enseñaba Jesús en una sinagoga en el día de reposo;
11 Y había allí una mujer que desde hacía dieciocho años tenía espíritu de enfermedad, y andaba encorvada, y en ninguna manera se podía enderezar.
12 Cuando Jesús la vio, la llamó y le dijo: Mujer, eres libre de tu enfermedad.
13 Y puso las manos sobre ella; y ella se enderezó luego, y glorificaba a Dios.
14 Pero el principal de la sinagoga, enojado de que Jesús hubiese sanado en el día de reposo, dijo a la gente: Seis días hay en que se debe trabajar; en éstos, pues, venid y sed sanados, y no en día de reposo.
15 Entonces el Señor le respondió y dijo: Hipócrita, cada uno de vosotros ¿no desata en el día de reposo su buey o su asno del pesebre y lo lleva a beber?
16 Y a esta hija de Abraham, que Satanás había atado dieciocho años, ¿no se le debía desatar de esta ligadura en el día de reposo?
17 Al decir él estas cosas, se avergonzaban todos sus adversarios; pero todo el pueblo se regocijaba por todas las cosas gloriosas hechas por él.
10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?
17 And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
1 Entonces llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera, y para sanar toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.
5 A estos doce envió Jesús, y les dio instrucciones, diciendo:
8 Sanad enfermos, limpiad leprosos, resucitad muertos, echad fuera demonios; de gracia recibisteis, dad de gracia.
20 Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu de vuestro Padre que habla en vosotros.
28 Y no temáis a los que matan el cuerpo, mas el alma no pueden matar;
29 ¿No se venden dos pajarillos por un cuarto? Con todo, ni uno de ellos cae a tierra sin vuestro Padre.
30 Pues aun vuestros cabellos están todos contados.
31 Así que, no temáis; más valéis vosotros que muchos pajarillos.

1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying,
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:
29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

51 He aquí, os digo un misterio: No todos dormiremos; pero todos seremos transformados,
52 En un momento, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la final trompeta; porque se tocará la trompeta, y los muertos serán resucitados incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados.
53 Porque es necesario que esto corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y esto mortal se vista de inmortalidad.

DIOS. El gran YO SOY; el que todo lo sabe, que todo lo ve, que es todo acción, todo sabiduría, todo amor, y que es eterno; Principio; Mente; Alma; Espíritu; Vida; Verdad; Amor; toda sustancia; inteligencia.
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.
Como el ideal individual de la Verdad, Cristo Jesús vino a reprender el error rabínico y todo pecado, enfermedad y muerte —a señalar el camino de la Verdad y la Vida. Este ideal fue demostrado durante toda la carrera terrenal de Jesús, señalando la diferencia entre el linaje del Alma y el del sentido material, entre el linaje de la Verdad y el del error.
Si hemos triunfado suficientemente sobre los errores del sentido material para permitir que el Alma mantenga el dominio, aborreceremos el pecado y lo reprobaremos bajo toda máscara. Sólo de ese modo podemos bendecir a nuestros enemigos, aunque éstos no interpreten así nuestras palabras. No podemos escoger por nosotros mismos, sino que tenemos que ocuparnos en nuestra salvación de la manera que lo enseñó Jesús. Con mansedumbre y poder, anunciaba el evangelio a los pobres.
As the individual ideal of Truth, Christ Jesus came to rebuke rabbinical error and all sin, sickness, and death, — to point out the way of Truth and Life. This ideal was demonstrated throughout the whole earthly career of Jesus, showing the difference between the offspring of Soul and of material sense, of Truth and of error.
If we have triumphed sufficiently over the errors of material sense to allow Soul to hold the control, we shall loathe sin and rebuke it under every mask. Only in this way can we bless our enemies, though they may not so construe our words. We cannot choose for ourselves, but must work out our salvation in the way Jesus taught. In meekness and might, he was found preaching the gospel to the poor.
La creencia de que Dios vive en la materia es panteísta. El error que dice que el Alma está en el cuerpo, que la Mente está en la materia, y que el bien está en el mal, debe desdecir eso y dejar de hacer tales declaraciones; pues, de lo contrario, Dios le seguirá siendo ocultado a la humanidad, y los mortales pecarán sin saber que están pecando, se apoyarán en la materia en lugar de apoyarse en el Espíritu, tropezarán de cojera, se caerán de borrachera, se consumirán con enfermedades —todo por su ceguera, su falso concepto acerca de Dios y el hombre.
The belief that God lives in matter is pantheistic. The error, which says that Soul is in body, Mind is in matter, and good is in evil, must unsay it and cease from such utterances; else God will continue to be hidden from humanity, and mortals will sin without knowing that they are sinning, will lean on matter instead of Spirit, stumble with lameness, drop with drunkenness, consume with disease, — all because of their blindness, their false sense concerning God and man.
La Mente divina mantiene todas las identidades, desde una brizna de hierba hasta una estrella, distintas y eternas. Las preguntas son: ¿Cuáles son las identidades de Dios? ¿Qué es el Alma? ¿Existe vida o alma en la cosa formada?
Nada es real y eterno —nada es Espíritu— sino Dios y Su idea. El mal no tiene realidad. No es ni persona ni lugar ni cosa, sino simplemente una creencia, una ilusión del sentido material.
La identidad, o idea, de toda realidad continúa para siempre; pero el Espíritu, o Principio divino de todo, no está en las formaciones del Espíritu. Alma es sinónimo de Espíritu, Dios, el Principio creador, gobernante e infinito, que está fuera de la forma finita y que las formas sólo reflejan.
The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal. The questions are: What are God's identities? What is Soul? Does life or soul exist in the thing formed?
Nothing is real and eternal, — nothing is Spirit, — but God and His idea. Evil has no reality. It is neither person, place, nor thing, but is simply a belief, an illusion of material sense.
The identity, or idea, of all reality continues forever; but Spirit, or the divine Principle of all, is not in Spirit's formations. Soul is synonymous with Spirit, God, the creative, governing, infinite Principle outside of finite form, which forms only reflect.
Pregunta. — ¿Cuáles son las exigencias de la Ciencia del Alma?
Respuesta. — La primera exigencia de esta Ciencia es: "No tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí". Ese mí es Espíritu. Por lo tanto, el mandato significa esto: No tendrás ninguna inteligencia, ninguna vida, ninguna sustancia, ninguna verdad, ningún amor, que no sea espiritual. La segunda es semejante: "Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo". Debiera entenderse a fondo que todos los hombres tienen una sola Mente, un solo Dios y Padre, una sola Vida, Verdad y Amor. El género humano se perfeccionará en la medida en que se evidencie ese hecho, cesarán las guerras y se establecerá la verdadera hermandad del hombre. No teniendo otros dioses, no recurriendo a ninguna otra sino a la única Mente perfecta para que le guíe, el hombre es la semejanza de Dios, puro y eterno, y tiene esa Mente que estaba también en Cristo.
La Ciencia revela que el Espíritu, o Alma, no está en el cuerpo y que Dios no está en el hombre, sino que es reflejado por el hombre. Lo mayor no puede estar en lo menor. La creencia que lo mayor pueda estar en lo menor es un error que hace mal. Un punto primordial de la Ciencia del Alma es que el Principio no está en su idea. El Espíritu, el Alma, no está encerrado en el hombre y jamás está en la materia.
Question. — What are the demands of the Science of Soul?
Answer. — The first demand of this Science is, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." This me is Spirit. Therefore the command means this: Thou shalt have no intelligence, no life, no substance, no truth, no love, but that which is spiritual. The second is like unto it, "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established. Having no other gods, turning to no other but the one perfect Mind to guide him, man is the likeness of God, pure and eternal, having that Mind which was also in Christ.
Science reveals Spirit, Soul, as not in the body, and God as not in man but as reflected by man. The greater cannot be in the lesser. The belief that the greater can be in the lesser is an error that works ill. This is a leading point in the Science of Soul, that Principle is not in its idea. Spirit, Soul, is not confined in man, and is never in matter.
Las exigencias de la Verdad son espirituales y llegan al cuerpo por medio de la Mente. El mejor intérprete de las necesidades del hombre dijo: "No os afanéis por vuestra vida, qué habéis de comer o qué habéis de beber".
The demands of Truth are spiritual, and reach the body through Mind. The best interpreter of man's needs said: "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink."
En la Ciencia divina, el hombre es la imagen verdadera de Dios. La naturaleza divina se expresó de la mejor manera en Cristo Jesús, quien reflejó más exactamente a Dios a los mortales y elevó sus vidas a un nivel más alto que el que les concedían sus pobres modelos de pensamiento — pensamientos que presentaban al hombre como caído, enfermo, pecador y mortal. La comprensión, semejante a la de Cristo, del ser científico y de la curación divina, incluye un Principio perfecto y una idea perfecta —Dios perfecto y hombre perfecto— como base del pensamiento y de la demostración.
In divine Science, man is the true image of God. The divine nature was best expressed in Christ Jesus, who threw upon mortals the truer reflection of God and lifted their lives higher than their poor thought-models would allow, — thoughts which presented man as fallen, sick, sinning, and dying. The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea, — perfect God and perfect man, — as the basis of thought and demonstration.
Sabiendo que el Alma y sus atributos se manifestaban eternamente por medio del hombre, el Maestro sanaba a los enfermos, daba vista a los ciegos, oído a los sordos, pies a los cojos, revelando así la acción científica de la Mente divina sobre mentes y cuerpos humanos, y dando una mejor comprensión del Alma y la salvación. Jesús sanó la enfermedad y el pecado por un mismo procedimiento metafísico.
Knowing that Soul and its attributes were forever manifested through man, the Master healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, feet to the lame, thus bringing to light the scientific action of the divine Mind on human minds and bodies and giving a better understanding of Soul and salvation. Jesus healed sickness and sin by one and the same metaphysical process.
Puesto que Dios es sustancia y el hombre es la imagen y semejanza divina, el hombre debe desear, y en realidad posee, sólo la sustancia del bien, la sustancia del Espíritu, no de la materia. La creencia de que el hombre tiene otra sustancia, o mente, no es espiritual y quebranta el Primer Mandamiento: Tendrás un solo Dios, una sola Mente. Al hombre mortal le parece que él es sustancia material, mientras que el hombre es "imagen" (idea). El engaño, el pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte son el resultado del falso testimonio del sentido material, el cual, desde un punto de vista hipotético, situado fuera de la distancia focal del Espíritu infinito, presenta una imagen invertida de la Mente y de la sustancia, con todo puesto al revés.
Esa falsedad presupone que el alma es un morador insustancial dentro de formas materiales y que el hombre es material en vez de espiritual.
As God is substance and man is the divine image and likeness, man should wish for, and in reality has, only the substance of good, the substance of Spirit, not matter. The belief that man has any other substance, or mind, is not spiritual and breaks the First Commandment, Thou shalt have one God, one Mind. Mortal man seems to himself to be material substance, while man is "image" (idea). Delusion, sin, disease, and death arise from the false testimony of material sense, which, from a supposed standpoint outside the focal distance of infinite Spirit, presents an inverted image of Mind and substance with everything turned upside down.
This falsity presupposes soul to be an unsubstantial dweller in material forms, and man to be material instead of spiritual.
Bien comprendido, en lugar de poseer un cuerpo material y sensible, el hombre tiene un cuerpo insensible; y Dios, el Alma del hombre y de toda la existencia, siendo perpetuo en Su propia individualidad, armonía e inmortalidad, imparte y perpetúa esas cualidades en el hombre —por medio de la Mente, no de la materia.
Rightly understood, instead of possessing a sentient material form, man has a sensationless body; and God, the Soul of man and of all existence, being perpetual in His own individuality, harmony, and immortality, imparts and perpetuates these qualities in man, — through Mind, not matter.
El Alma es la sustancia, Vida e inteligencia del hombre, que está individualizada, pero no en la materia. El Alma jamás puede reflejar nada que sea inferior al Espíritu.
El hombre es la expresión del Alma.
Soul is the substance, Life, and intelligence of man, which is individualized, but not in matter. Soul can never reflect anything inferior to Spirit.
Man is the expression of Soul.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
