6. Bienaventurados los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, porque ellos serán saciados.
8. Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón, porque ellos verán a Dios.
11. Bienaventurados sois cuando por mi causa os vituperen y os persigan, y digan toda clase de mal contra vosotros, mintiendo.
12. Gozaos y alegraos, porque vuestro galardón es grande en los cielos; porque así persiguieron a los profetas que fueron antes de vosotros.
43. Oísteis que fue dicho: Amarás a tu prójimo, y aborrecerás a tu enemigo.
44. Pero yo os digo: Amad a vuestros enemigos, bendecid a los que os maldicen, haced bien a los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen;
45. para que seáis hijos de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos, que hace salir su sol sobre malos y buenos, y que hace llover sobre justos e injustos.
46. Porque si amáis a los que os aman, ¿qué recompensa tendréis? ¿No hacen también lo mismo los publicanos?
48. Sed, pues, vosotros perfectos, como vuestro Padre que está en los cielos es perfecto.
6. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
11. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
43. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
48. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Leccion Sermon
6 Y estando Jesús en Betania, en casa de Simón el leproso,
7 vino a él una mujer, con un vaso de alabastro de perfume de gran precio, y lo derramó sobre la cabeza de él, estando sentado a la mesa.
8 Al ver esto, los discípulos se enojaron,
10 Y entendiéndolo Jesús, les dijo: ¿Por qué molestáis a esta mujer? pues ha hecho conmigo una buena obra.
12 Porque al derramar este perfume sobre mi cuerpo, lo ha hecho a fin de prepararme para la sepultura.
13 De cierto os digo que dondequiera que se predique este evangelio, en todo el mundo, también se contará lo que esta ha hecho, para memoria de ella.
20 Cuando llegó la noche, se sentó a la mesa con los doce.
21 Y mientras comían, dijo: De cierto os digo, que uno de vosotros me va a entregar.
22 Y entristecidos en gran manera, comenzó cada uno de ellos a decirle: ¿Soy yo, Señor?
23 Entonces él respondiendo, dijo: El que mete la mano conmigo en el plato, ese me va a entregar.
24 A la verdad el Hijo del Hombre va, según está escrito de él, mas ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien el Hijo del Hombre es entregado! Bueno le fuera a ese hombre no haber nacido.
25 Entonces respondiendo Judas, el que le entregaba, dijo: ¿Soy yo, Maestro? Le dijo: Tú lo has dicho.
26 Y mientras comían, tomó Jesús el pan, y bendijo, y lo partió, y dio a sus discípulos, y dijo: Tomad, comed; esto es mi cuerpo.
27 Y tomando la copa, y habiendo dado gracias, les dio, diciendo: Bebed de ella todos;
28 porque esto es mi sangre del nuevo pacto, que por muchos es derramada para remisión de los pecados.
29 Y os digo que desde ahora no beberé más de este fruto de la vid, hasta aquel día en que lo beba nuevo con vosotros en el reino de mi Padre.
32 Pero después que haya resucitado, iré delante de vosotros a Galilea.
36 Entonces llegó Jesús con ellos a un lugar que se llama Getsemaní, y dijo a sus discípulos: Sentaos aquí, entre tanto que voy allí y oro.
38 Entonces Jesús les dijo: Mi alma está muy triste, hasta la muerte; quedaos aquí, y velad conmigo.
39 Yendo un poco adelante, se postró sobre su rostro, orando y diciendo: Padre mío, si es posible, pase de mí esta copa; pero no sea como yo quiero, sino como tú.
40 Vino luego a sus discípulos, y los halló durmiendo, y dijo a Pedro: ¿Así que no habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?
42 Otra vez fue, y oró por segunda vez, diciendo: Padre mío, si no puede pasar de mí esta copa sin que yo la beba, hágase tu voluntad.
43 Vino otra vez y los halló durmiendo,
44 Y dejándolos, se fue de nuevo, y oró por tercera vez, diciendo las mismas palabras.
45 Entonces vino a sus discípulos y les dijo: Dormid ya, y descansad. He aquí ha llegado la hora, y el Hijo del Hombre es entregado en manos de pecadores.
46 … ved, se acerca el que me entrega.
47 Mientras todavía hablaba, vino Judas, uno de los doce, y con él mucha gente con espadas y palos, de parte de los principales sacerdotes y de los ancianos del pueblo.
49 Y en seguida se acercó a Jesús y dijo: ¡Salve, Maestro! Y le besó.
50 Y Jesús le dijo: Amigo, ¿a qué vienes? Entonces se acercaron y echaron mano a Jesús, y le prendieron.
6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation,
10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 And he came and found them asleep again:
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 …behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

16 And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18 Where they crucified him,
41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre,

1 Pasado el día de reposo, al amanecer del primer día de la semana, vinieron María Magdalena y la otra María, a ver el sepulcro.
2 Y hubo un gran terremoto; porque un ángel del Señor, descendiendo del cielo y llegando, removió la piedra, y se sentó sobre ella.
3 Su aspecto era como un relámpago, y su vestido blanco como la nieve.
5 Mas el ángel, respondiendo, dijo a las mujeres: No temáis vosotras; porque yo sé que buscáis a Jesús, el que fue crucificado.
6 No está aquí, pues ha resucitado, como dijo.
7 E id pronto y decid a sus discípulos que ha resucitado de los muertos,

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead;
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
1 Después de esto, Jesús se manifestó otra vez a sus discípulos junto al mar de Tiberias; y se manifestó de esta manera:
4 Cuando ya iba amaneciendo, se presentó Jesús en la playa; mas los discípulos no sabían que era Jesús.
6 Él les dijo: Echad la red a la derecha de la barca, y hallaréis. Entonces la echaron, y ya no la podían sacar, por la gran cantidad de peces.
7 Entonces aquel discípulo a quien Jesús amaba dijo a Pedro: ¡Es el Señor!
8 Y los otros discípulos vinieron con la barca,
9 Al descender a tierra, vieron brasas puestas, y un pez encima de ellas, y pan.
12 Les dijo Jesús: Venid, comed. Y ninguno de los discípulos se atrevía a preguntarle: ¿Tú, quién eres? sabiendo que era el Señor.
13 Vino, pues, Jesús, y tomó el pan y les dio, y asimismo del pescado.
14 Esta era ya la tercera vez que Jesús se manifestaba a sus discípulos, después de haber resucitado de los muertos.
25 Y hay también otras muchas cosas que hizo Jesús, las cuales si se escribieran una por una, pienso que ni aun en el mundo cabrían los libros que se habrían de escribir. Amén.
1 After these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and on this wise shewed he himself.
4 …when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord.
8 And the other disciples came in a little ship;
9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus then cometh, and taketh bread, and giveth them, and fish likewise.
14 This is now the third time that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples, after that he was risen from the dead.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
La enseñanza y la práctica de la Verdad por parte de Jesús implicaban tal sacrificio que nos obliga a admitir que el Principio de ambas era el Amor.
Jesus' teaching and practice of Truth involved such a sacrifice as makes us admit its Principle to be Love.
Como estudiante de lo divino, revelaba a Dios al hombre, ilustrando y demostrando la Vida y la Verdad en sí mismo y por su poder sobre enfermos y pecadores. Las teorías humanas son inadecuadas para interpretar el Principio divino inherente a los milagros (las maravillas) efectuados por Jesús y especialmente a su poderosa, suprema, incomparable y triunfal salida de la carne.
As a divine student he unfolded God to man, illustrating and demonstrating Life and Truth in himself and by his power over the sick and sinning. Human theories are inadequate to interpret the divine Principle involved in the miracles (marvels) wrought by Jesus and especially in his mighty, crowning, unparalleled, and triumphant exit from the flesh.
Los judíos, quienes trataron de matar a ese hombre de Dios, mostraron claramente que sus puntos de vista materiales eran la causa de sus actos malvados. … Ese materialismo perdió de vista al Jesús verdadero; pero la fiel María le vio, y para ella representó más que nunca la idea verdadera de Vida y sustancia.
The Jews, who sought to kill this man of God, showed plainly that their material views were the parents of their wicked deeds. … This materialism lost sight of the true Jesus; but the faithful Mary saw him, and he presented to her, more than ever before, the true idea of Life and substance.
Judas conspiró contra Jesús. La ingratitud y el odio del mundo hacia este hombre justo, llevaron a cabo la traición. El precio que exigió el traidor fue treinta piezas de plata y la sonrisa de los fariseos. Escogió el momento en que el pueblo estaba en duda sobre las enseñanzas de Jesús.
Se acercaba un período que había de revelar la distancia infinita entre Judas y su Maestro. Judas Iscariote lo sabía. Sabía que la gran bondad de ese Maestro ponía un abismo entre Jesús y su traidor, y esta distancia espiritual inflamό la envidia de Judas. La codicia por el oro reforzó su ingratitud y temporalmente apaciguó su remordimiento. Sabía que el mundo, por lo general, prefiere la mentira a la Verdad; y así tramó la entrega de Jesús para ganarse la estima popular. Su tenebrosa maquinación se vino abajo, y con ella cayó el traidor.
Judas conspired against Jesus. The world's ingratitude and hatred towards that just man effected his betrayal. The traitor's price was thirty pieces of silver and the smiles of the Pharisees. He chose his time, when the people were in doubt concerning Jesus' teachings.
A period was approaching which would reveal the infinite distance between Judas and his Master. Judas Iscariot knew this. He knew that the great goodness of that Master placed a gulf between Jesus and his betrayer, and this spiritual distance inflamed Judas' envy. The greed for gold strengthened his ingratitude, and for a time quieted his remorse. He knew that the world generally loves a lie better than Truth; and so he plotted the betrayal of Jesus in order to raise himself in popular estimation. His dark plot fell to the ground, and the traitor fell with it.
En la Roma antigua se exigía que el soldado declarara bajo juramento lealtad a su general. La palabra latina para este juramento era sacramentum, y nuestra palabra sacramento deriva de ella. Entre los judíos era una antigua costumbre que en una fiesta, el maestro de ceremonias pasara a cada convidado una copa de vino. Pero la eucaristía no conmemora el juramento del soldado romano, ni era el vino, servido en convites y usado en ritos judaicos, la copa de nuestro Señor. La copa representa su amarga experiencia —la copa que suplicó pasase de él, aunque se inclinó en santa sumisión al decreto divino.
In ancient Rome a soldier was required to swear allegiance to his general. The Latin word for this oath was sacramentum, and our English word sacrament is derived from it. Among the Jews it was an ancient custom for the master of a feast to pass each guest a cup of wine. But the Eucharist does not commemorate a Roman soldier's oath, nor was the wine, used on convivial occasions and in Jewish rites, the cup of our Lord. The cup shows forth his bitter experience, — the cup which he prayed might pass from him, though he bowed in holy submission to the divine decree.
GETSEMANÍ. Angustia paciente; lo humano sometiéndose a lo divino; amor que no es correspondido, pero que sin embargo sigue siendo amor.
Gethsemane. Patient woe; the human yielding to the divine; love meeting no response, but still remaining love.
Durante su noche de tristeza y gloria en el huerto, Jesús se dio cuenta del error absoluto de creer en cualquier posibilidad de inteligencia material. El agudo dolor de la indiferencia y los palos de la ignorancia intolerante le hirieron cruelmente. Sus discípulos dormían. Les dijo: "¿No habéis podido velar conmigo una hora?" ¿No podían velar con el que, esperando y luchando en silenciosa angustia, mantenía sin una queja su guardia sobre un mundo? Ese anhelo humano no fue correspondido, y por eso Jesús se volvió para siempre de la tierra al cielo, de los sentidos al Alma.
During his night of gloom and glory in the garden, Jesus realized the utter error of a belief in any possible material intelligence. The pangs of neglect and the staves of bigoted ignorance smote him sorely. His students slept. He said unto them: "Could ye not watch with me one hour?" Could they not watch with him who, waiting and struggling in voiceless agony, held uncomplaining guard over a world? There was no response to that human yearning, and so Jesus turned forever away from earth to heaven, from sense to Soul.
Mansamente nuestro Maestro enfrentó el escarnio a su grandeza no reconocida. Afrentas tales como las que recibió, soportarán sus seguidores hasta el triunfo final del cristianismo. Ganó honores eternos. Venció al mundo, a la carne y a todo error, demostrando así la nulidad de estos. Llevó a cabo una completa salvación del pecado, la enfermedad y la muerte. Necesitamos a "Jesucristo, y a éste crucificado". Necesitamos de pruebas y de abnegaciones, así como de gozos y de victorias, hasta que todo el error sea destruido.
Meekly our Master met the mockery of his unrecognized grandeur. Such indignities as he received, his followers will endure until Christianity's last triumph. He won eternal honors. He overcame the world, the flesh, and all error, thus proving their nothingness. He wrought a full salvation from sin, sickness, and death. We need "Christ, and him crucified." We must have trials and self-denials, as well as joys and victories, until all error is destroyed.
La Pascua, que Jesús celebró con sus discípulos en el mes de Nisán, en la víspera de su crucifixión, fue un acontecimiento pesaroso, una cena triste, tomada al declinar el día, en el crepúsculo de una gloriosa carrera mientras las tinieblas descendían rápidamente en derredor; y esa cena puso fin para siempre al ritualismo de Jesús, o sus concesiones a la materia.
Sus seguidores, tristes y silenciosos, presintiendo la hora en que se le haría traición a su Maestro, participaron del maná celestial que antaño había alimentado en el desierto a los perseguidos partidarios de la Verdad. Su pan realmente descendió del cielo. Era la gran verdad del ser espiritual, que sanaba a los enfermos y echaba fuera al error. Su Maestro la había explicado toda antes, y ahora ese pan los alimentaba y sostenía.
The Passover, which Jesus ate with his disciples in the month Nisan on the night before his crucifixion, was a mournful occasion, a sad supper taken at the close of day, in the twilight of a glorious career with shadows fast falling around; and this supper closed forever Jesus' ritualism or concessions to matter.
His followers, sorrowful and silent, anticipating the hour of their Master's betrayal, partook of the heavenly manna, which of old had fed in the wilderness the persecuted followers of Truth. Their bread indeed came down from heaven. It was the great truth of spiritual being, healing the sick and casting out error. Their Master had explained it all before, and now this bread was feeding and sustaining them.
Por esta verdad del ser espiritual su Maestro estaba a punto de sufrir violencia y apurar hasta el fondo su copa de dolor. Tenía que dejarles. Anticipando la gran gloria de una victoria eterna, dio gracias y dijo: "Bebed de ella todos".
Cuando el elemento humano en él luchaba con el divino, nuestro gran Maestro dijo: "¡No se haga mi voluntad, sino la Tuya!" —a saber: No sea la carne, sino el Espíritu, lo que esté representado en mí. For this truth of spiritual being, their Master was about to suffer violence and drain to the dregs his cup of sorrow. He must leave them. With the great glory of an everlasting victory overshadowing him, he gave thanks and said, "Drink ye all of it."
When the human element in him struggled with the divine, our great Teacher said: "Not my will, but Thine, be done!" — that is, Let not the flesh, but the Spirit, be represented in me. This is the new understanding of spiritual Love. It gives all for Christ, or Truth. It blesses its enemies, heals the sick, casts out error, raises the dead from trespasses and sins, and preaches the gospel to the poor, the meek in heart.
Por todo lo que experimentaron los discípulos se espiritualizaron más y comprendieron mejor lo que el Maestro había enseñado. Su resurrección fue también la resurrección de ellos. Les ayudó a elevarse a sí mismos y a elevar a otros del embotamiento espiritual y de la fe ciega en Dios a la percepción de posibilidades infinitas. Necesitaban esa vivificación, pues pronto su querido Maestro iba a elevarse de nuevo en el reino espiritual de la realidad y ascender mucho más alto que la percepción de ellos. Como recompensa a su fidelidad, él iba a desaparecer para los sentidos materiales, en aquel cambio que desde entonces se ha llamado la ascensión.
¡Qué contraste entre la última cena de nuestro Señor y su último desayuno espiritual con sus discípulos en las radiantes horas matutinas, en aquella gozosa reunión sobre la playa del mar de Galilea! Su tristeza se había convertido en gloria, y la aflicción de sus discípulos en arrepentimiento —sus corazones habían sido depurados y reprendido su orgullo. Convencidos de la infructuosidad de su labor en las tinieblas y despertados por la voz del Maestro, cambiaron sus métodos, se apartaron de las cosas materiales y echaron la red a la derecha. Percibiendo de nuevo a Cristo, la Verdad, en la playa del tiempo, pudieron elevarse un tanto sobre la sensibilidad mortal, o el entierro de la mente en la materia, a vida nueva como Espíritu.
Esa reunión espiritual con nuestro Señor, en el amanecer de una nueva luz, es el alimento matutino que los Científicos Cristianos conmemoran. Se inclinan ante Cristo, la Verdad, para recibir más de su reaparición y comulgar en silencio con el Principio divino, el Amor. Celebran la victoria de su Señor sobre la muerte, su probación en la carne después de la muerte, su ejemplificación de la probación humana, y su ascensión espiritual y final sobre la materia, o la carne, cuando se elevó fuera del alcance de la vista material.
Through all the disciples experienced, they became more spiritual and understood better what the Master had taught. His resurrection was also their resurrection. It helped them to raise themselves and others from spiritual dulness and blind belief in God into the perception of infinite possibilities. They needed this quickening, for soon their dear Master would rise again in the spiritual realm of reality, and ascend far above their apprehension. As the reward for his faithfulness, he would disappear to material sense in that change which has since been called the ascension.
What a contrast between our Lord's last supper and his last spiritual breakfast with his disciples in the bright morning hours at the joyful meeting on the shore of the Galilean Sea! His gloom had passed into glory, and his disciples' grief into repentance, — hearts chastened and pride rebuked. Convinced of the fruitlessness of their toil in the dark and wakened by their Master's voice, they changed their methods, turned away from material things, and cast their net on the right side. Discerning Christ, Truth, anew on the shore of time, they were enabled to rise somewhat from mortal sensuousness, or the burial of mind in matter, into newness of life as Spirit.
This spiritual meeting with our Lord in the dawn of a new light is the morning meal which Christian Scientists commemorate. They bow before Christ, Truth, to receive more of his reappearing and silently to commune with the divine Principle, Love. They celebrate their Lord's victory over death, his probation in the flesh after death, its exemplification of human probation, and his spiritual and final ascension above matter, or the flesh, when he rose out of material sight.

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
