15 Benditos vosotros de Jehová, Que hizo los cielos y la tierra.
15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.
1 En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
2 Y la tierra estaba desordenada y vacía, y las tinieblas estaban sobre la faz del abismo, y el Espíritu de Dios se movía sobre la faz de las aguas.
26 Entonces dijo Dios: Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza; y señoree en los peces del mar, en las aves de los cielos, en las bestias, en toda la tierra, y en todo animal que se arrastra sobre la tierra.
27 Y creó Dios al hombre a su imagen, a imagen de Dios lo creó; varón y hembra los creó.

2 Después dio a luz a su hermano Abel. Y Abel fue pastor de ovejas, y Caín fue labrador de la tierra.

1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city:
2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
3 For thus saith the Lord, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.
3 Ciertamente consolará Jehová a Sion; consolará todas sus soledades, y cambiará su desierto en paraíso, y su soledad en huerto de Jehová; se hallará en ella alegría y gozo, alabanza y voces de canto.
3 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
21 Saliendo Jesús de allí, se fue a la región de Tiro y de Sidón.
22 Y he aquí una mujer cananea que había salido de aquella región clamaba, diciéndole: ¡Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de mí! Mi hija es gravemente atormentada por un demonio.
23 Pero Jesús no le respondió palabra. Entonces acercándose sus discípulos, le rogaron, diciendo: Despídela, pues da voces tras nosotros.

28 Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Oh mujer, grande es tu fe; hágase contigo como quieres. Y su hija fue sanada desde aquella hora.
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
46 Mientras él aún hablaba a la gente, he aquí su madre y sus hermanos estaban afuera, y le querían hablar.
47 Y le dijo uno: He aquí tu madre y tus hermanos están afuera, y te quieren hablar.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.

2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

22 …the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
6 Y por cuanto sois hijos, Dios envió a vuestros corazones el Espíritu de su Hijo, el cual clama: ¡Abba, Padre!
7 Así que ya no eres esclavo, sino hijo; y si hijo, también heredero de Dios por medio de Cristo.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
HOMBRE. La compuesta idea del Espíritu infinito; la imagen y semejanza espiritual de Dios; la representación completa de la Mente.
Man. The compound idea of infinite Spirit; the spiritual image and likeness of God; the full representation of Mind.
Génesis 1:1. En el principio creó Dios los cielos y la tierra.
El Principio creador —la Vida, la Verdad y el Amor— es Dios. El universo refleja a Dios. No hay más de un creador y una creación. Esa creación consiste en el desarrollo de ideas espirituales y sus identidades, las cuales están comprendidas en la Mente infinita y eternamente reflejadas. Esas ideas se extienden desde lo infinitesimal hasta lo infinito, y las ideas más elevadas son los hijos y las hijas de Dios.
Genesis i. 1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The creative Principle — Life, Truth, and Love — is God. The universe reflects God. There is but one creator and one creation. This creation consists of the unfolding of spiritual ideas and their identities, which are embraced in the infinite Mind and forever reflected. These ideas range from the infinitesimal to infinity, and the highest ideas are the sons and daughters of God.
La cualidad vivificante de la Mente es el Espíritu, no la materia. El hombre ideal corresponde a la creación, a la inteligencia y a la Verdad. La mujer ideal corresponde a la Vida y al Amor. En la Ciencia divina no tenemos tanta autoridad para considerar a Dios masculino como para considerarle femenino, porque el Amor imparte la idea más clara de la Deidad.
The life-giving quality of Mind is Spirit, not matter. The ideal man corresponds to creation, to intelligence, and to Truth. The ideal woman corresponds to Life and to Love. In divine Science, we have not as much authority for considering God masculine, as we have for considering Him feminine, for Love imparts the clearest idea of Deity.
Los Científicos Cristianos comprenden que, en un sentido religioso, tienen la misma autoridad para usar el apelativo madre, como el de hermano o hermana. Jesús dijo: "Porque todo aquel que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos, ése es mi hermano, y hermana, y madre".
Christian Scientists understand that, in a religious sense, they have the same authority for the appellative mother, as for that of brother and sister. Jesus said: "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
Génesis ii. 21, 22. Entonces Jehová Dios [Jahveh] hizo caer sueño profundo sobre Adán, y mientras éste dormía, tomó una de sus costillas, y cerró la carne en su lugar. Y de la costilla que Jehová Dios tomó del hombre, hizo una mujer, y la trajo al hombre.
Aquí la falsedad, el error, atribuye a la Verdad, Dios, el haber producido un sueño o estado hipnótico en Adán para practicarle una operación quirúrgica y así crear a la mujer. Ése es el primer relato de magnetismo. Empezando la creación con tinieblas en vez de luz —empezando material en vez de espiritualmente— el error ahora simula la obra de la Verdad, mofándose del Amor y declarando cuán grandes cosas ha hecho el error. Al contemplar las creaciones de su propio sueño y llamándolas reales y dadas por Dios, Adán —alias el error— les pone nombres. Más adelante se supone que él llega a ser la base de la creación de la mujer y de su propia especie, llamándola especie humana —es decir, una especie de hombre.
Pero de acuerdo con esa narración, la cirugía fue practicada al comienzo mentalmente y sin instrumentos; y eso pudiera ser una indicación útil para la facultad médica. Más tarde en la historia humana, cuando el fruto prohibido estaba dando fruto de su propia especie, se sugirió un cambio en el modus operandi —que el hombre debiera nacer de la mujer y no que la mujer fuera tomada nuevamente del hombre. Aconteció también que fue necesario usar instrumentos para ayudar en el nacimiento de los mortales. El primer sistema de obstetricia sugestiva cambió. Vendrá otro cambio en cuanto a la naturaleza y el origen del hombre, y esa revelación destruirá el sueño de la existencia, restablecerá la realidad, introducirá la Ciencia y el hecho glorioso de la creación, que tanto el hombre como la mujer proceden de Dios y son Sus hijos eternos, los cuales no pertenecen a ningún progenitor inferior.
Genesis ii. 21, 22. And the Lord God [Jehovah, Yawah] caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God [Jehovah] had taken from man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Here falsity, error, credits Truth, God, with inducing a sleep or hypnotic state in Adam in order to perform a surgical operation on him and thereby create woman. This is the first record of magnetism. Beginning creation with darkness instead of light, — materially rather than spiritually, — error now simulates the work of Truth, mocking Love and declaring what great things error has done. Beholding the creations of his own dream and calling them real and God-given, Adam — alias error — gives them names. Afterwards he is supposed to become the basis of the creation of woman and of his own kind, calling them mankind, — that is, a kind of man.
But according to this narrative, surgery was first performed mentally and without instruments; and this may be a useful hint to the medical faculty. Later in human history, when the forbidden fruit was bringing forth fruit of its own kind, there came a suggestion of change in the modus operandi, — that man should be born of woman, not woman again taken from man. It came about, also, that instruments were needed to assist the birth of mortals. The first system of suggestive obstetrics has changed. Another change will come as to the nature and origin of man, and this revelation will destroy the dream of existence, reinstate reality, usher in Science and the glorious fact of creation, that both man and woman proceed from God and are His eternal children, belonging to no lesser parent.
Todo el conocimiento humano y toda la percepción material tienen que obtenerse de los cinco sentidos corporales. ¿No es acaso peligroso ese conocimiento, cuando el comer sus primeros frutos trajo la muerte? … Adán y su prole fueron maldecidos, no bendecidos; y eso indica que el Espíritu divino, o Padre, condena al hombre material y lo devuelve al polvo.
All human knowledge and material sense must be gained from the five corporeal senses. Is this knowledge safe, when eating its first fruits brought death? … Adam and his progeny were cursed, not blessed; and this indicates that the divine Spirit, or Father, condemns material man and remands him to dust.
Jehová declaró que la tierra estaba maldita; y de esa tierra, o materia, procedió Adán, a pesar de que Dios había bendecido a la tierra "por causa del hombre". De eso se deduce que Adán no fue el hombre ideal para quien la tierra fue bendecida. El hombre ideal se reveló a su debido tiempo, y fue conocido como Cristo Jesús.
Jehovah declared the ground was accursed; and from this ground, or matter, sprang Adam, notwithstanding God had blessed the earth "for man's sake." From this it follows that Adam was not the ideal man for whom the earth was blessed. The ideal man was revealed in due time, and was known as Christ Jesus.
Quien sea capaz de percibir la incongruencia entre la idea de Dios y la pobre humanidad, debiera ser capaz de discernir la diferencia (hecha por la Ciencia Cristiana) entre el hombre de Dios, creado a Su imagen, y la raza pecadora de Adán.
No es el propósito de la Ciencia Cristiana "educar a la idea de Dios, o darle un tratamiento por estar enferma", como alega cierto crítico. Lamento que tal crítica confunda al hombre con Adán. Cuando se dice que el hombre fue creado a imagen de Dios, no se hace referencia al hombre mortal, pecador y enfermizo, sino al hombre ideal, que refleja la semejanza de Dios.
Anybody, who is able to perceive the incongruity between God's idea and poor humanity, ought to be able to discern the distinction (made by Christian Science) between God's man, made in His image, and the sinning race of Adam.
It is not the purpose of Christian Science to "educate the idea of God, or treat it for disease," as is alleged by one critic. I regret that such criticism confounds man with Adam. When man is spoken of as made in God's image, it is not sinful and sickly mortal man who is referred to, but the ideal man, reflecting God's likeness.
El hombre de Dios, creado espiritualmente, no es material y mortal.
El origen de toda la discordia humana fue el sueño-Adán, aquel sueño profundo en el cual se originó la ilusión de que la vida y la inteligencia procedieron de la materia y entraron en ella. Ese error panteísta, esa llamada serpiente, insiste aún en el opuesto de la Verdad, diciendo: "Seréis como Dios"; es decir, yo haré que el error sea tan real y eterno como la Verdad.
God's man, spiritually created, is not material and mortal.
The parent of all human discord was the Adam-dream, the deep sleep, in which originated the delusion that life and intelligence proceeded from and passed into matter. This pantheistic error, or so-called serpent, insists still upon the opposite of Truth, saying, "Ye shall be as gods;" that is, I will make error as real and eternal as Truth.
Como el ideal individual de la Verdad, Cristo Jesús vino a reprender el error rabínico y todo pecado, enfermedad y muerte —a señalar el camino de la Verdad y la Vida. Este ideal fue demostrado durante toda la carrera terrenal de Jesús, señalando la diferencia entre el linaje del Alma y el del sentido material, entre el linaje de la Verdad y el del error.
As the individual ideal of Truth, Christ Jesus came to rebuke rabbinical error and all sin, sickness, and death, — to point out the way of Truth and Life. This ideal was demonstrated throughout the whole earthly career of Jesus, showing the difference between the offspring of Soul and of material sense, of Truth and of error.
María le concibió espiritualmente, pues sólo la pureza podía reflejar la Verdad y el Amor, que estaban tan evidentemente encarnados en el bueno y puro Cristo Jesús.
Mary's conception of him was spiritual, for only purity could reflect Truth and Love, which were plainly incarnate in the good and pure Christ Jesus.
Los mortales pueden aprender de él a liberarse del mal. Estando el hombre real unido a su Hacedor por medio de la Ciencia, los mortales sólo tienen que apartarse del pecado y perder de vista la entidad mortal, para encontrar al Cristo, al hombre verdadero y su relación con Dios, y para reconocer la filiación divina. El Cristo, la Verdad, fue demostrado por medio de Jesús para probar el poder del Espíritu sobre la carne —para mostrar que la Verdad se manifiesta en sus efectos sobre la mente y el cuerpo humanos, sanando a la enfermedad y destruyendo al pecado.
From him mortals may learn how to escape from evil. The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship. Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of Spirit over the flesh, — to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin.
Discerniendo el opuesto espiritual de la materialidad, o sea, el camino mediante Cristo, la Verdad, el hombre reabrirá con la llave de la Ciencia divina las puertas del Paraíso, que las creencias humanas han cerrado, y se encontrará no como hombre caído, sino erguido, puro y libre,
Through discernment of the spiritual opposite of materiality, even the way through Christ, Truth, man will reopen with the key of divine Science the gates of Paradise which human beliefs have closed, and will find himself unfallen, upright, pure, and free,
Enteramente separada de la creencia y del sueño de la existencia material, está la Vida divina, que revela la comprensión espiritual y la consciencia del señorío que el hombre tiene sobre toda la tierra. Esa comprensión echa fuera el error y sana a los enfermos, y con ella podéis hablar "como quien tiene autoridad”.
Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living, is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man's dominion over the whole earth. This understanding casts out error and heals the sick, and with it you can speak "as one having authority."

Será deber de cada miembro de esta Iglesia orar diariamente: "Venga Tu reino"; haz que el reino de la Verdad, la Vida y el Amor divinos se establezca en mí, y quita de mí todo pecado; ¡y que Tu Palabra fecunde los afectos de toda la humanidad, y los gobierne!
Ni la animosidad ni el mero afecto personal deben impulsar los móviles o actos de los miembros de La Iglesia Madre. En la Ciencia, sólo el Amor divino gobierna al hombre, y el Científico Cristiano refleja la dulce amenidad del Amor al reprender el pecado, al expresar verdadera confraternidad, caridad y perdón. Los miembros de esta Iglesia deben velar y orar diariamente para ser liberados de todo mal, de profetizar, juzgar, condenar, aconsejar, influir o ser influidos erróneamente.
Será deber de todo miembro de esta Iglesia defenderse a diario de toda sugestión mental agresiva, y no dejarse inducir a olvido o negligencia en cuanto a su deber para con Dios, para con su Guía y para con la humanidad. Por sus obras será juzgado, — y justificado o condenado.
